Good for History, biased on news
When discussing history, this is an intriguing and informative podcast. However, when presenting current news, this is a heavily biased, pixie dust snorting, papa Iger apologist podcast at its worst. If you want to get to the truth of any current Disney news source this is not the place to go. The presenter lacks the required perspective to give anything but the company line on any matter. Other reviews have mentioned his voice and it is true, the delivery is very difficult to get through. Who pronounces the word documentary that way? Out of a family of Disney fanatics, I am the only one to listen to this podcast because of the voice and delivery, but even I will only listen to pieces about Disney history, again because you will get nowhere near the truth of any news item listening here. The best I can give it is two stars.

Perfect for Disney enthusiasts
This podcast is well researched and well written. It’s a meaty, deep dive into topics of interest for us Disney fans. Love it!

Mr Todd James Pierce - what about crews in the strike?
I like the podcast. Give the crews and the below the line workers credit on the strike, please. IATSE crew members and teamsters are suffering the most with this strike. Your latest episode doesn’t include them along with writers, actors and studios as being affected. Try again. These people build the worlds the public wants to see.

Deep dive origin stories and biographies
I love the deep-dive stories presented about how Disney attractions were developed. The detailed biographies of key creators of Disney rides and more are fascinating and well-researched. This podcast isn’t just a casual conversation, it’s like reading a deeply researched—and entertaining—book! The information presented here is very high quality.

Interesting history from a woke host
I’ve listened to this podcast for years, appreciating the interest in the company that Walt built. During COVID, a heavier news and update segment really leaned into a woke perspective of the host. You can easily skip these episodes or chortle at the biased, unshielded opinions of the host that he can’t help but include. History is best served from a neutral position but, in the end, this is one man’s opinion/history podcast.

Professional, engaging, well researched Disney information
Almost all Disney podcasts seem to be a group of people chatting off the top of their head reading whatever Disney news happened last week, which takes 5 minutes, and then filling in with rambling off-the-cuff remarks for the rest of the hour. They are entirely interchangeable. This podcast, however, is meticulously researched, and professionally written, edited and produced. Each topic is placed in context so you understand how both modern and historical events relate to Disney history, tradition, and personalities. You won’t find this unique content anywhere else.

That Voice….
Can’t get past it. It’s like nails on a chalkboard. Can’t even focus on the content. Terrible.

Good information with painful delivery.
This guy knows his Disney but it’s so annoying when he realizes he is speaking “too normal” and has to bring back the Casey Kasem in nauseam.

Magically fantastic, except…
I have debated giving this review for a longtime but I’ve decided it must be given. It is clear Todd James Pierce is the highest in the craft of Disneyland, Disney, and theme park history. He does exceptional in-depth analysis, research, and is even featured in “Behind the Attraction” on Disney+. However, if there is one thing keeping this podcast from being five-stars perfect it is this: for some reason, when Pierce is quoting someone, he takes on this higher-pitched, nasal affect that is almost mocking the quoter. It is hard to take the source and the podcast seriously when this happens and is the only blemish on an otherwise outstanding podcast.

Impressive Narrative History
Beautifully crafted storytelling. The best Disney history podcast, hands down.

Amazing
This podcast is the absolute best. It’s hard to find Disney pod adds that focus on all facets of the company, and DHI certainly does. As someone in a Hollywood-adjacent industry, this pod is an absolute essential for staying up to date, and also learning extensively about Disney history. The research and depth is always extremely impressive. I hope this pod stays on forever!!!!!

Best Disney history cast by far
I’m a lifelong Disney fan, and have read many books in Walt and his work, yet I never fail to learn some detail or hear some story I’ve never encountered before. Todd does an amazing job of research and storytelling; I’ve been listening for a while now and have loved every episode.

History so appreciated!
Love hearing the details and stories of every person known and unknown that contributed to the Disney legacy. My mother and father in law and grandparents were in the parks in the first year and next couple years for Walt Disney World. My wife’s aunt made some of the stained glass in the castle and my brother in law contributed to design for some of the resorts. Hearing history brings some of these things to life. Small overlooked things have new meaning and importance. Even going to the parks regularly my enthusiasm for the parks and Disney as a whole continues because there’s always a new way to experience them, always a new fact or story to find and appreciate. Always something new to try even if has been there since the beginning and I just didn’t know about it till now. This podcast brings those things to life with vivid details and fantastic storytelling! Especially enjoying the Opening of Walt Disney World Series! So many moving parts and ideas and challenges coming together and demonstrating the power of human perseverance and ingenuity! Quite inspiring! Thanks for telling their story so we can be inspired in our own lives to continue to find a way to think about things in a new way and innovate where there doesn’t seem to be a path sometimes. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this regularly!

Exceptional Quality
This podcast stands alone in the level of quality, fact-base content and analysis included in each presentation. DHI’s Todd Pierce is a consummate professional and his podcasts consider every conceivable question (and then some) on what a person could wonder about on a given topic. I’ve listened to a lot of Disney-related podcasts and this one is the absolute best. A

Amazing podcast
If you want a great listen and amazing detail about Disney this is a must listen. You can start listening thinking you will let it go for couple minutes then you just get lost in the episode.. it’s truly in this day and age a must listen.

Great for the old and new Disney lovers!
Started listening earlier this year and have loved it ever since. I’m a history buff and love anything old Disney parks. Even if you don’t like history you owe it to yourself to listen to see how the parks got to where they are today.

Good content but can’t handle the voice
Voice is way too dramatic and distracting. It’s like he’s trying to do a voice over audition.

Great way to learn Disney history
I started listening about a couple of months ago when I saw it by chance. What I like about it is that the podcast is not focused just on Disney. There are some episodes in which he gives you a history (background information) of what is going on before the event in Disney history. This gives you a complete understanding how those events influenced Disney. Then he ties it all up at then end so that you have a full understanding. He also shares audio clips of his interviews with former cast members. I’m so excited to go through each episode and hear stories that I’ve never heard before. Sometimes I listen to 3-4 episodes in a row. Great podcast.

His voice dose not sound the best. It would be at 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not because coronavirus

The best!
If you’re a Disney history freak, this is the best podcast out there. Plain and simple. Todd’s voice is also like butter and will bring a smile to your ears.

Great Info, Over Produced Vocal track
The end of. Every sentence. Is. Sustained for a Little Too. Longggg. Very well researched and paced podcast. No fluff and filler like other Disney podcasts out there. However, it’s so hard to listen to on a regular basis because the vocals sound like they have been through every digital processing sequence three times, like the baritone and masked voice of a protected witness on one of those crime documentaries.

Interesting and Captivating
This podcast provides such interesting facts. If you are a Disney fan this podcast share little known facts. The research that goes into producing this podcast is astounding. Keep up the great work!

What I wanted but...
The voice was so distracting and annoying , so I couldn't pay attention to the information. I've listened to long podcast and books, but they weren't as dragging as this podcast. I appreciate the effort placed in this show that I'd be happy to read the episode as a transcript, but in no way listen to it.

Intelligent Research-based Disney!
The episodes are informative and compelling. They are extremely well written. I’m blown away by the amount of research DHI has conducted and continues to produce. The occasional oral history interview excerpts are an added exclusive bonus. TJP is the reader, and apart from a few vocal quirks and weird word pronunciations, he does an awesome job. Anticipating the next episode!

Five stars
I love Disney history. This show exposes you to people and events you didn’t even know existed. I highly recommended this show.

Great content, UPDATE: audio quality fixed!
The content of this podcast is great, with lots of stories and anecdotes related to the world of Disney that you won’t hear anywhere else, but having to subject my ears to audio quality that is just barely above that of an AM radio is hard. I don’t know if it is the amount of compression used or the EQ, but the voiceover quality is just grating. UPDATE: The sound quality on the two latest episodes is much improved. Giving it a full five stars now...

The Best Disney History Podcast
I stumbled into Todd James Pierce's DHI podcasts while searching for information on the recent Disney stockholders' meeting in St. Louis. I was intrigued by the existence of podcasts about a never built riverfront project of Disney in St. Louis. After listening to just a few more podcasts, I realized how informative, comprehensive and entertaining Mr. Pierce's podcasts are. I have been an avid Disney fan for over 40 years. I consider myself knowledgeable in much Disney trivia, especially through the building and early operation of EPCOT (mid 1980's). However, I have enjoyed learning much more detail about Walt, the studio, his many talented artists and imagineers and of course, the parks.

I want to love it!
I saw so many stars and at first listen thought it was a computerized voice. The info is great and just what I’ve been looking for in Disney history but I can’t pay attention because I am distracted with how robotic the narrators voice sounds. I guess I like more personality to shine through the podcasts I listen to.
