If you like one sided “journalism”, you have found your home for life with this very biased podcast. You will hear everything good that you ever wanted to know about socialism and communism without all the cumbersome reality that actually comes along with those ideologies . I will give Amy Goodman props for her tireless pursuit of leftist propaganda. She does work hard at delivering one side of every story.

Giving voice to the movements and to the truth!

I tune in every morning to listen to DN. Their ability to report on worldly topics without the blatant whitewashing that corporate/western media does is exactly why I listen daily. DN is the only American news outlet that I will listen to. I appreciate that DN amplifies the voices of oppressed people and communities; specifically amplifying Palestinian voices during this genocide. DN gives historical context that is missing in western society and media and it is an extremely vital aspect of truth that it needed to educate people.

DN is much more informative than giant corporate media. Thank you for your continued hard work.

The news is based on history, current events, and facts, rather than commentary of “opinions.” Unfortunately, mainstream “news” shows are not based on any of these things. They simply spout ridiculous opinion pieces that appeal to people’s emotions to garner listeners and 💰 While the news does do interviews, they are thoughtful pieces with people who have had responsible positions and are aware of the history of current events, which never happen in a vacuum. Thank you for keeping it honest!!!

Listened for a long time. It is disappointing to see so many stories with changes that we know about still being pushed by Amy and the other hosts. I mean would it hurt you so badly to update on the current events of certain stories to show the honest truth of them. And on a different note, Amy mispronounces words all the time. Not a criticism because I know I do as well. Just an observation.

Democrats Now is one of the most important news organizations in the world, certainly one of few in America that deliver unskewed coverage of world politics and events, never backs away from the real story, and remains entirely independent of corporations and powerful political institutions which already impose their own interests on the news outlets accessible to most Americans.

I would say they are 1/2 way between corporate news and truly independent. More leaning towards independent. Sometimes really good guests.

I listen to democracy now almost daily. It is my major source for global news. It gives me great comfort to know that it is independent journalism and is funded by individuals. Amy and her team do a wonderful job bringing in voices that are not highlighted in mainstream media.

Covering the whole world is tough but these folks do a pretty good job!

Democracy Now does detailed reporting on many issues. It always takes the side that America’s is bad and so are its allies. For example, in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict they go on and on about Palestinian children being killed by the Israelis. They NEVER mention that Hamas hides behind civilians and hospitals when it launches its rockets, a war crime. Report after report about supposed Israeli war crimes, yet no interviews with the Israeli government, no reports of Hamas doing anything wrong apart from the initial reports about the massive terror attacks on October 7th. Democracy Now frequently goes back 50-100 years and picks at the scabs of American history, yet never doing that for any other country. This is a despicable media organization.

Why is there upbeat music playing in the beginning while discussing murder and death of children? Maybe change the music up depending on the intro topics?

Listen to Amy, Juan and their amazing well informed guests and learn so much, thank you for the amazing work you do in the midst of this biased news ecosystem.

Amy bashes Elon Musk and praises media matters for manipulating ads. Amy ignores the excellent reporting of independent journalists like Michael Shellingberger, Matt Taibi, Aaron Mate and Glenn Greenwald. So sad that DN is just another liberal mouthpiece for the Dem Party

I read news from a variety of sources. I routinely tune in to listen to the unbiased, relevant coverage that Democracy Now provides. Many of the interviews and stories won’t be found on many other outlets. Keep up the great work

I used to love this show, but the bias they have shown with the Israel Gaza war is dangerous. First, the Jewish people were in the area over 3000 years ago, so calling them colonialist is a big lie. And calling Hamas resistance is appalling. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I have always watched DN online and am grateful that I can listen anywhere through their podcasts. Thank you for doing the important work of upholding journalistic integrity.

Excellent program. I listen to every program. Without it, it would have been difficult to see what’s really happening in the US and/or internationally. Especially in the country, Japan, where I live, the facts are hard to come by. Thank you Amy for your leveled and well thought castings and the crew members to make it possible for us so that we can hear the real news from wherever we live. In stead of the ones manipulated or created by the people in the power.

Trustworthy, informative. shines a light on all that the corporate news media ignores day after day. Excellent interviews, very on-point. If Amy Goodman had been alive throughout history, they would be interviewing the Arawaks, the enslaved people, all the conquered and abused peoples, and Howard Zinn could have based his “A peoples’ history…” on Democracy Now’s excellent reporting.

These guys are definitely left of center but unlike Fox on the other side, DemocracyNow is actual journalism. Definitely not fully independent, many of their views are suspiciously similar to western interests, but overall they provide a much needed service.

I or anyone can go into Walmart pharmacy (for the last ten years) buy a vial of insulin, no prescription, no doctor, no insurance (please pay attention now) for $24. Anytime during the last 10 years. No insurance, no doctor, no prescription, voila. Thus, the hoopla about reducing insulin costs is ? Democracy Now! gives information news from around the world. I trust their perspective and motivation.

Today’s program with James Risen of the Intercept, formerly with NYT, is another example of the high-quality reporting on topics, crucial to all Americans, presented by DM through the leadership of Amy Goodman and her capable staff. DM is an invaluable source of information, essential to understanding the depth and breadth of US government involvement in criminal plots against prominent leaders & citizens, both domestic and foreign, in the interest of extending US government and corporate control over all of US society, as well as over the actions of foreign governments and people. Support the work of independent journalists like these and many more, in the interest of supporting democracy and freedom of the press and the people.

A trustworthy and credible news outlet at a time where disinformation and corporate influence in media is everywhere. The brief overview in the beginning is especially useful as it covers international news. The guests are also knowledgeable, articulate and often in the field. The only thing I don’t like about this show is how often guests get cut off while sharing relevant and important information. I realize time is limited but I’d rather have a longer show where guests are able to fully articulate their perspectives. If a longer show is not feasible, you could remove the longer interviews or special episodes about a single topic and redistribute the time. From a listener perspective, the constant interruptions and cut offs come off as rude and sometimes even inappropriate, especially when the guests are community members or loved ones affected by tragedy. It isn’t fair to expect everyone to speak as concisely as politicians and advocates who are used to delivering their talking points. Also, don’t ask emotional or personal questions unless you intend to hear the full answer and offer an empathetic response. The secondhand embarrassment is real.

This is supposedly an independent news org, but seems to only portray the issues that paint right as bad….this narrative will fail. Look at Vice, Buzzfeed…time to ditch echo chambers of hate and find a podcast that just reports news without a bias.

There is so much I love about this podcast. I confess lately I have begun listening to it near religiously. I love Amy Goodman’s steady voice and her grandmotherly, yet hip appearance. The jamming opening theme music and her charisma drew me in to the show originally. (Shout out to WHYS radio in Eau Claire for introducing the show to me in their noontime broadcast.) I mention these pleasant aesthetic qualities first because the actual news being reported is often quite bleak. I appreciate the long musical breaks between segments in the broadcast in which one can enjoy not just a chorus, but a verse too! of the featured daily songs. The news presented is biased in favor of social freedom and just democracy and is anti-fascist, anti-authoritarian, etc. —which is harder and harder to come by these days. It focuses on human rights stories, ecological updates (famines, fires, floods) labor movements, global and domestic politics especially regarding violent conflict. I have few complaints. I wish there were more domestic political stories or perhaps a special segment for the US elections and ongoing politics.

I’m currently unemployed and actually staying with my son; so I’m unable to afford the monthly sustainer amount. I know with cost going up for everyone, Democracy Now is suffering as well. I worry about that. Today’s show that barely mentioned Lindsey Graham’s press conference yesterday and your oddly timed January 6 piece really has me concerned about your shows Financial integrity.
