Offended but hopeful
New listener. Starting at season 1. I'm almost finished but I hope I can get through it. Episode after episode all I hear is mindless bickering about the BDSM lifestyle. They keep saying we need to discuss the facts, but not once have they done this. I literally want to slam my hands on the table and scream ENOUGH! You mindless plebeians! Point 1. You ARE there to judge the defendant. You are the JURY! Point 2. The defendant and the decedent's lifestyle has ZERO, ZERO to do with the case. If you think I'm wrong, then you believe that every sex worker murdered by a John was complicit in her/his own death. Point 3. Dr. Kevorkian was found guilty and every one of his so-called "victims" was a willing participant. I guess this podcast does confirm for me one fact that I have always suspected. Juries are notoriously stupid. At any rate I could only give one star because they focused too much on bashing conservative Christians, and heterosexuals, at one point going so far as to state "that's a white male perspective". Um, wow, racist much? To be fair though, I think the podcast has potential and I would like to get to season 2 and see if we can't do better.

Love love love!
It’s both captivating and infuriating at the same time! I am almost done with my Master’s in Forensic Psychology and I’m really interested in jury research, so this podcast is exactly what I was looking for! Only on episode 6 so I’m trying so hard not to spoil. Hope there are many more seasons to come!

Jessa on the press
I though the episode was very good. Listening to Jessa Nicholson Goetz talk always is informative and entertaining. She is a outstanding attorney, and I remember the events she spoke about in my trial when she represented me. I learned something new about her through this episode, and I really appreciate it. She is an amazing woman, and she is my hero. Chad Chritton

Really engrossing
I began with Season 4 and am blown away by the depth and scope of this podcast. Chelsea is a talented interviewer and extremely well researched in cults. I am thoroughly enjoying the interviews and true stories juxtaposed with the trial. The jury deliberations are fabulously acted; not so much the trial characters. The actress who plays Lola is terrible. But the content is so excellent that gets a pass. Great podcast.

LOVE ❤️❤️ Especially Season 4
I started at season 4 & was hooked. I’m happy the court audio in this recent season isn’t echoed like it’s taken inside a futuristic spaceship court arena... I also like the detailed court testimonies and arguments that go back and forth with the jury as they debate over each subject. If you could keep this format, it would be a lot easier to feel apart of it all.... It’s on my bucket list to be called for jury one day; I think it would be a dream come true to be on one of these mock juries. I’ve taken several acting courses and I’d do it free of charge! 🤩 A TOPIC SUGGESTION: if I could suggest a trial that would make an amazing & difficult mock deliberation... the Ross Harris Trial.

Love, but season 4 seems to be having an audio problem?
This podcast is AMAZING! It’s so clear how much thought goes into these stories and I’m so drawn into what’s happening. The jury breaks add more real life depth to the story and I can’t stop listening! Edit: I feel terrible for Lola. I think the foreman was a bully and coerced people to his side. It was either HIS way or no way. And he lacked absolute empathy. I definitely don’t agree with the verdict and it makes me sad for the justice system. I feel Lola reasonably believed given her situation that doom was going to happen. Not reasonable to society’s standards, but that’s not what it’s about. It’s from getting into her shoes and seeing it from her perspective. Also, letting the cult get away for that??? They ended winning and that’s also wrong. Lola left and became deprogrammed. She was a victim.

One of my absolute favorites
I love this show. I feel like I have learned so much from it, about so many topics. I love hearing the jury deliberate and seeing how their points of view shift as the trial progresses.

Listening Again
Love this show, and since season 4 just ended, I decided to go back and listen again. OMG I cannot stand the argumentative girl in season 2! She’s worse than Carl in season 1! Just so angry and rude and stuck on her own opinion. I know this is a cast of people with roles, but man she just pisses me off! Makes for and even more entertaining show though! Keep up the great work! I cannot wait for season 5!!!

Dropped the ball on Aziz Ansari
I was deeply distressed after listening to the unidentified male host make EVERY EXCUSE for Aziz Ansari. He says that going to someone’s apartment signals possibility for sex. Nope. Nope. Nope. Grace says she doesn’t want to have sex that night, but maybe on the second date. And the host says, “Whelp. She says there might be a possibility of a second date.” Just so everyone is clear, women will say “maybe on the second date” so that they can get some distance to decide if that second date is even within the realm of possibility. More than likely, had he stopped there and they parted ways, she would have recognized her feeling of fear was NOT a positive experience and never been alone with him again. But the most disgraceful was at the very beginning when she verbally expressed “let’s slow down,” and the host says, “Well. That’s not specific enough!” And the female host disagrees. Let me tell you something. If I was ever putting the moves on a girl and she said “let’s slow down,” I would KNOW. Like MESSAGE RECEIVED. There is no need to interpret that whatsoever. Shameful. And then he’s like hey lemme shove my fingers down her throat. That’ll put er in the mood! Absolutely appalling.

Phenomenal Podcast
I hope the creator of this podcast reads this review. You create amazing stories and dialogue, and obviously attempt to remain unbiased on issues that we face today. I always have to wait until a season is over because waiting a week between each episode is torture! I get so angry when you apologize because there are idiots out there that don’t understand the podcast is fictional and based on real events. We all know that the characters created, especially jurors, do exist in this world. We don’t like it, but they exist and end up on juries. I’ve been a victim of sexual assault and NOTHING in your podcast has ever offended me. It’s a story. You do amazing work! I’m going to Patreon now to start donating. Don’t let haters get you down!

Interesting insight into the minds of jurors.
I’ve listened since this podcast started and it has always brought some interesting points/ideas/thoughts to the forefront during each season. Not to mention, Chelsea presented to the world: Jessa. And Jessa with her partner, Nick gives us, Getting Off. Thank you!!!!!

Huge Fan
I am fascinated by the jury process in the United States. This partially scripted podcast does an excellent job of showing how difficult a jury room can be. You are a fly-on-the-wall in the jury room and can listen and analyze the deliberations. And if you want to learn more about cults, Season 4 is fantastic.

New season lacks entertainment
Really enjoyed the first and second season of the show a would recommend listening. This season is difficult to listen to. The angry black man and black women characters in this season play off of some many stereotypes and have been unable to listen to an entire episode. Hope it gets better next season.

Started strong but...
The first season was amazing. Was quite excited about the second but sadly it was ruined by the tedious obsession with statement analysis and an ending that cowardly and weak. Despite the previous season, I looked forward to the third only to find it bogged down with interpersonal details of the jury

LOVE LOVE LOVE
This was the first podcast I’d ever listened to and I literally couldn’t stop listening. Chelsea Cox has created such a unique and engaging set up - it’s interesting and entertaining, but also educational! I learned so much listening and it forced me to really think about my own biases. Love this podcast and cannot recommend it enough!!

I’m Hooked!
I’ve always loved the courtroom, and I often sit in courtroom trials during my summer breaks. Now that I’m going back to work, I can still get my fix of feeling like I am immersed in court trials!

I'm going through all the Episodes, the whole run, from the beginning, and was referred here by the "Suicide Buddies" podcast. I think both podcasts are great.

OBNOXIOUS CO-HOST RUINS EPISODE.
There's one basic rule for effective podcasting: GIVE YOUR CO-HOST EQUAL TIME AND LET THEM SPEAK OR THE ENTIRE PREMISE OF THE SHOW IS LOST. I thought we'd get the overview, then each host shares their opinion, they'd debate the topic and end with their conclusions. Here's why it was impossible for that to happen: THE MALE CO-HOST HIJACKED THE ENTIRE PODCAST TO "MANSPLAIN" HIS OPINION DOWN THE LISTENER'S THROATS. The other host never got to summarize the incident. Why? The male host made it all about himself, that he "didn’t feel sorry" for the woman, "she should have spoken up" how he'd expertly handle the situation if he was the woman during the dateBLAHBLAHBLAH. When he chose to steamroll over his co-host's ability to speak without being interrupted, it reaffirmed why/how obnoxious intimidation makes people (regardless of gender) reluctant to speak up when someone has arrogantly crossed the line.

Wonderfully Maddening
I love listening to this podcast because it highlights the vast differences in opinions and that there truly are people out there who believe something that you yourself wholeheartedly disagree with. It’s entertaining to listen to and gives you a real insight into trial proceedings. I often find myself listening to this podcast in my car, practically yelling at the actors in frustration but simultaneously hooked on every word. I would highly recommend and have already suggested it to many of my friends.

The Anticipation is Real!
This is literally one of the best concepts that could have formulated! I love the way she tells the story, exploring all sides of the case. I also love the idea that we are able to learn about the case from another perspective...the jury room. That's the one part about true crime cases that we don't really hear about and in this podcast, you do. You feel like you're in the room with them...the tensions...the heated but professional arguments...the true feelings/biases of average citizens. It's truly refreshing and I can't wait for season two! I'm so glad that Jessa and Nick from Getting Off Podcast turned me onto this one! -Heather (Nature vs Narcissism Podcast)

Interesting concept
I really like this podcast because it tells the story from the jury's point of view.

I honestly thought this was a real case
This show was just incredible to listen to! For about the first 4 episodes, I legit thought it was a real jury talking. The acting is so good and the story is very eye-opening. I can’t wait for season 2!

Thank You for this Honest Podcast
This is so well done. I especially appreciate the intimate and honest accounts of BDSM from lifestyle subs. Wow.

The idea behind this podcast is amazing and I love the added Judy break discussions!

Amazing!
I have listened to the first couple of the episodes so far and I’m loving this podcast. It’s amazing to know that this improvised and not in real time. The actors do an amazing job in capturing the emotions of the people in the case. I hope there is a second season!

Great Concept!
I love this show. I wish you would do a season showing how Casey Anthony could've possibly gotten away with murder.

Wowza! Knot not.
I love the concept. I've always wanted to serve on a criminal case jury. Now I'm not so sure. What an awesome responsibility. The back and forth, the differing and reasonable differences are fascinating. It sounds so difficult to stick to the facts given at trial and not rely on our life style experiences and emotions. Given the above, I'm going with knot, not. Since the rope knot was destroyed by police, that is enough for reasonable doubt, in my mind. I certainly don’t agree with the verdict but this podcast is soooo great, it makes me want to go visit Samantha in prison. Can't wait for season two. Thanks.

Why does the judgmental wankstain who has a clear bias against anyone who prefers non-missionary intimacy DOMINATE every conversation?

Really interesting commentary
I love that there is such a variety of perspectives. Everyone has really strong believable differences and the debate is real and draws in the listener. Well done. I can’t wait for more.

AMAZING
I had doubts as it is improve but it sounds like you are sitting in the room with them. I keep wanting to speak up and give my opinion which is great! I feel involved and it keeps me wanting more and more. I just wish I knew if it was based on a true crime or if it is made up. Either way, I love it.

Intriguing
Great job Chelsie.. I'm looking forward to how you wrap this up. I'm hoping there is a great ending on "did they get it right". For example at the end are you going to have Samantha tell the Jury if they got it right or not? Obviously that does not happen in real life but it would be interesting to loop it back to Samantha to see if they in fact did get that answer correct. Great job and I love Rebecca's insight. Only suggestion is to speak more naturally you have a beautiful voice but it sounds like there's some over compensating and that makes it sound scripted. Otherwise, it is excellent.

Wow!
What a great new look into the true crime genre! A look into the side of the trial and details we don't get to see. I listen to a ton of true crime and I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast!

Frustrating yet awesome
So... I want to jump through the ether and smack people at times for missing the point(s) so many times, and at times there seems to be no voice of reason, but somehow it seems to circle back to "truth" though I want to scream "ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!!" Good job for drawing that out- I don't think I'm alone.

Best Crime Podcast
Loving anything related to crime, listening to Deliberations is like a crime thriller in a new and old way. Having the effect of an old-time radio show, yet having a new perspective that isn't explored as frequently. Many elements of the show make it versatile and worthy of listening to. It’s an incredible program not to be missed.

More please!
I kept hearing advertisements for this podcast in several of the podcasts I was already listening to. It sounded interesting, so I gave it a listen. Now I am totally hooked!!! Went out of my way to write this review because I love it so much. Such a unique glimpse into the American justice system and how "average" citizens impact it. I hope this podcast sees more seasons.

Interesting but not loud enough
I think this series is very interesting, but even with my phone and headset cranked all the way up I have to strain to hear -- which is not a problem with other podcasts.
