Don’t waste your time. Interesting how the Martial Arts Pioneer John Garden wasn’t that concerned about Kim’s title, using points to prove that titles in the Martial Arts field are typically self imposed anyway. Also found it interesting that Mr. Garden, who is your expert, believed in “tough love” with regards to training in Martial Arts citing personal examples. It was also concluded by the MA Pioneer that it was not that strange for Kim to have charged large amounts of money for specialized training. It’s called capitalism. Also seems far stretching to accuse someone of murder when the guy died of a heart attack. Podcast seemed a little soft..also rehearsed and scripted. Super outdated and seemed a little desperate. The cussing was the cherry on top.

Great narration and intrigue! 👊🏾
Listened to episode “The Greatest Martial Arts Master that Ever Lived?”. Love the music that sets a mysterious tone! Never heard of the Chung Moo Quan, but this made me want to do research. The narration is on point and very engaging. This podcast is so professionally done. Felt like I was listening to a True Crime documentary. Love the sound clips that were included. Really added to the intrigue and scandal. It sounds like Kim was the embodiment of “pride goeth before a fall”. Thank you for speaking your truth and spreading awareness on this topic. I recommend this podcast to anyone who is interested in the telling of a real life cult.

Been there a little
Hey Russell - we used to hear stories about you as I started CMQ - Lake st school in approx ‘87 and trained with my buddy up to second section and then quit. I came back to it around ‘93 and trained every night pretty much while going to college. I moved with ‘Murphy’ and another old school guy down to Texas to open a school with one of the Nationals. Murphy’ is a great guy - he took the brunt of a lot of BS and he never let it roll down hill. He really believed in the redemptive aspect of training yourself to become stronger and he never pushed that crazy stuff. He is a stand-up guy. This was quite refreshing to listen to - thanks for doing this.

Fascinating!
I love shows like this.. Sometimes dark, but always a great listen. If you're interested in the human mind and how a cult works, how someone gets caught up in them.. This is the show.

The episode with Steve Hassan was very interesting. Hearing from his perspective was so valuable. Russel does such a great job keeping these shows flowing. Great show.

Great Stories!
An engaging story from the start, it shows that truth is stranger than fiction. The tales of an evil authoritarian cult leader whose minions were willing to kill or die for him. I found it frightening. Episode 1 “The greatest martial arts master that ever live?” Wow-what a start to a series! From a narrative perspective took me back in time. I was hooked the entire time. Can’t wait to finish listening to all the stories about the Chung Moo Quan martial arts cult. Charles, the host, is a great narrator with a great voice. One of a few podcasts that does something unique. I recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys listening to stories about martial arts, cults, and true crime.

Awesome podcast!! I listened to episode 1 so far and am definitely going to listen to the rest. The story kept me engaged and I can tell he truly put a lot of time in this. The story was spoken so clearly and had so many details. It gave me some chills but I still couldn’t stop listening!

What a podcast
It hard to digest but Deceived is an account of a how a cult takes you over. And how to leave. A narrative and with some guest provides great insight. Listen now

Mr.
Great podcast series. This is a story of deception that should have been told years ago. It is both scary and funny at the same time. Just say no to cults!
