Ravenloft!!
Good stuff, you guys are a trip, seems like you need to get Bernard in line a little bit, he’s becoming more like the old Marlamae!! Also been a fan of Ravenloft for years.

Magpie-loft?
Five authors playing D&D, using characters from their own work. They're currently playing The Curse of Strahd, and while it is interesting, the players seem very wreckless in their decision-making, with very little reprecussions. I'm up to episode 25, and the DM should have killed one or two of them off by now, for failing to be more careful, or at least caused them some kind of grief for it. I suspect that the fact that these characters are from the players' own books, causes the DM to be too leniant, and hesitant to let the players make fatal errors in judgement. At one point, while the characters are about to ignore numerous warnings to avoid a dangerous area of the game (which they honestly should have been powerful enough to explore by then), the DM pulls a deus ex machina, and literally blocks the characters from entering. That kind of undermines the tension of the campaign setting. Also, the DM replaced ravens and crows with magpies from his own work. Sorry, but it's very difficult for me to enjoy gothic horror that has magpies where ravens should be. Regardless of their biological similarities. It makes me cringe every time I hear the word "mapgpie" stated on the podcast.

Pretty good, give it a try
It’s a little slow to start as it usually is with a new campaign but they are very entertaining and can carry the campaign without a lot of DM intervention which is good. My only criticism is the episode length is very short for a podcast in general especially one that’s D&D actual play, but the audio levels are a little out of whack. Some people come through loud and clear while others will intermittently be very quiet. Sometimes a character will trail off as if speaking to someone face to face and it gets very hard to hear the second half of a sentence BUT! This is not always and shouldn’t keep you from trying it. I am using it via Bluetooth in my car so maybe it’s a hardware issue. I just wrapped up Strahd with my own friends and am very interested to see how this party ends up.
