Megan Nix interview out of character
I generally love this podcast. As a pregnant mom with 2 toddlers and an OB nurse I though the Nix interview was a lot of scaremongering. Naturally her view is a little biased based on her experience. That was not the typical episode, and I was disappointed. If you’re going to interview people who are Catholic but are really platforming a more general topic, maybe stick to the Catholic part, e.g. how she applied Thomas’ remedies, rather than platforming a controversial PSA.

Love these guys!
I love their humor. They are also quite brilliant!!! Yet humble. Keep it up please!!!! You are right and balanced!!!! Megan Nix was very interesting. I am a retired special education teacher. In my early years, when I was starting my family my students were 2-4 years old. We, as teachers were aware of CMV. Some of our students were diagnosed with cmv. 27 years ago, pregnant with my second child I requested a CMV test. I figured I had already had the virus. I was seeking piece of mind. The understanding then was if you already had the antibodies you would not not pass it on to your baby. I had an active case. I had an amniocentesis and the virus had not crossed the placenta. It was a very scary time. I can vividly recall the emotional rolling coaster waiting for the amniocentesis. This was before the internet and info was hard to come by. Treatment of any kind was not offered. I’m not sure if it was an option 27 years ago. Bottom line is some of us were aware of CMV and understood that it was passed on through body fluids. I am glad the information/ awareness is being spread with this book.

Out of touch
Long time listener here. Lately the hosts have seemed very out of touch with the daily realities and challenges of the lay Catholic person and spend more time in intellectual wormholes. Not what made me want to listen originally

These guys are amazing
I’ve learned so much over the years about the Catholic faith, much of which has been through this podcast. I have a ton of respect for these guys - their deep friendship is obvious, and so is their love of Christ and the Church. It’s changed a bit over the years as podcast hosts come and go, but the content is always top notch and I look forward to listening every week.

This last episode was almost impossible to listen to. Sorry Fr. Mike, but constantly taking over Fr. John made it extremely difficult to pay attention.

There can be no equivalency between Fr Martin and Taylor Marshall
Taylor Marshall is living his faith true to the Church; yes, he is extremely traditional with Latin Mass, etc., but daily Rosary is a beautiful thing and Taylor is not wrong about the lack of sanctity with distribution of communion that has led to only 30% of practicing Catholics who believe in the real Presence. I am so grateful for all of our well formed young Priests, but please don’t fall into the Mushy middle. Standing up for our Catholic Faith requires the heroics of the likes of Bishop Strickland, Father Altman and yes, the Convert Taylor Marshall. We will continue to grow the largest faith tradition in America of Ex Catholics unless we call out the Fr Martins, Wilton Gregory, etc. and demand the McCarrick report.

Too one-sided
Been listening since 2013. When one of the new guys talk’s it’s like a one sided conversation. It’s most evident with Fr. Mike.

Best part of my day!
I’ve learned so much. Most important is, priests are people too. I’m listening from the beginning and enjoying every minute.

Worth a listen
“Power & authority” was a meaty topic, requiring attention & thought. I learned a lot & gained much perspective. Sometimes the banter is pointless & goes on way too long.

Great new podcast
This is one great new podcast on being Catholic; which shows the interesting and exciting parts of the faith. Highly recommended

Enlightening
Well hosted show that usually leaves me walking away with something to chew on. I could do without the all the love for Jordan Peterson though.

Sophistry
Just listened to the first episode of this podcast, and it is pure sophistry by an ideologue in the cloth of the priesthood. This hubristic, political and pharisaical priest mocks the practice of ordinary Catholics, and sows discord in our Church which desperately needs love and unity between ordinary and traditional Catholics.

Helpful for a new Catholic!
So informative and wonderful! A absolute blessing from God! Thank you all for the time and commitment this takes and thank you for helping me extend my faith and my understanding of the Catholic faith!

Once was a fan
This once was a great podcast, but it’s really deteriorated over the last year. The banter is very stilted, if not painful, while it used to be organic and relatable. The show topics have moved away from matters relevant to my Christian life. Also, the episode comparing Catholic and Protestant theology demonstrated that they have little knowledge of Protestant theology. Don’t bother listening.

I been listening for 5 years…
And I used to be an unapologetic banter-lover. I’m slowly being driven into the anti-banter camp. Good banter is lighthearted, fraternal, and NOT TOO LONG. It doesn’t wander endlessly. If it’s going to start dragging out so long that there’s only half an episode of content, I can jump ship for a podcast that’s not quite as self-indulgent. I’m sticking around ‘cause I’ve faith in y’all. You can do better, we’ve all heard you do so. Thanks for everything you’ve taught me over the years, and you’re in my prayers.

Start at the beginning, drop after 2021
I’ve been listening to this podcast for at least 6 or 7 years. I took a break in 2020 to spend my time with the Bible in a Year from Ascension Media. The show has gone down an esoteric rabbit hole in the last year. The most recent podcast on “the liturgical ideal” is the best example of why so many people find our faith to be off-putting, irrelevant, and judgmental. I don’t even think the hosts or the guest speaker on this podcast even care - in fact, I think they’re quite proud of it. I forgot that I had left and review of this podcast many years ago. I’m leaving it below to demonstrate that I was once a true fan. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I've been listening to these priests from the "Catholic Stuff You Should Know" podcast for about a year. I've learned so much - spiritually and intellectually. These guys are approachable and hilarious. I definitely recommend them.

Started great, deteriorated to really bad
Bottom line: *If you are exploring Catholism and would like answers, go to ANY Catholic Church and ask about faith formation. There are also great resources online and excellent books. We are a Christ-centered and caring community full of flawed humans: there is a place for you* That said, no one cares about von Balthasar. I’ve followed this podcast for at least ten years. The original “cast” of young seminarians-turned-priests provided an amazing insight for a freshly minted Catholic convert. Some of the topics were way over my head, but the non-judgmental tone and friendly banter kept me engaged. Then a couple hosts went to Rome, a couple went to work, and there was some sort of fight. I am blessed to have found the show when I did; new to the faith, looking for answers to stuff I should know and intimidated by the formal nature of our clergy, I was very impressionable. The original cast, the original format, seemed open and welcoming and dedicated to both entertaining and informing. I really hate it for those finding this show now, as you’ll get a lot more of “Catholic opinions of a narrow minded priest and only those he’ll let on because they agree with him” and a lot less of “Catholic Stuff You Should Know.” This show started as an answer to a call from the See, but has turned in to tedious pontification against the Pontiff. The last straw for me was hearing a guest priest offer “I’m no Francis apologist” around the time he launched into a tirade about how women should have NO part in the mass and feminism is an enemy of the Church. All based on the idea there is “no precedent” for women in the celebration of the Eucharist. I’ll pray a Hail Mary or ten and no longer visit this podcast. If you’ve read this far, I recommend you start with the first five episodes before you listen to the last five, or avoid altogether. TLDR: this podcast has become at best tedious and at worst offensive and off-putting.

It has changed - I was always pro banter!
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts. I agree with some of the other reviewers that since Fr Nathan left, it has gotten pretty dull and boring. I am hoping that there will be a return to the fun topics and stories that naturally flow from a group of priests living out fraternity together. I do not need another podcast that is a long theological discussion on an obscure topic. Honestly if people want that they are going to listen to Pints With Aquinas anyways. I will hang in a little while longer to see if the addition of these new hosts brightens things up.

Great episode
Love the question and answer segment. Glad to know how to answer some of the crazy questions kids ask.

Find something else.
As the hosts have changed over the years, they have brought more and more of their US political views into the program, including recent ad hominem asides on President Biden. Whilst their right-wing, individualistic views were always a sub-current, it is now so frequently espoused that the show no longer worth supporting financially or listening to.

Heavier
What was once a rare opportunity to eavesdrop on priests living full, relatable, faithful lives has become a bit of a slog in recent months. We know that you’re well-educated, guys. But I miss the leaven and salt that Fr Nathan and Fr Michael provided. I’m not asking you to dumb it down, just to recall that it’s big hearts and not big words that draw souls closer to God.
Latoophra
Fun, but not archaeologically accurate.
The hosts are fun but the series doesn’t take into account the wealth of archaeological evidence that has become available in the last few decades. Especially regarding Bronze and Iron Age events in the Levant, and the conquest of Canaan.

Deeply saddened to watch the podcast take a hard left turn.
Silence towards heresy and full throated condemnation against “traditional” Catholics. Really disheartening. There are certainly critiques to be made against the Trad movement, but presenting it as a bigger problem than the myriad of others plaguing the Church is damaging to the faithful? Over half of Catholics don’t believe in the Eucharist? More and more Catholics becoming pro choice? German Bishops pursuing at a minimum the appearance of Schism? All silence. Someone receives on the tongue? Full throated condemnation. This podcast was instrumental in my conversion, and now, even though I go to a middle of the road Norvus Ordo, I’m one of the “enemies”.

Sad Trad
I’ve been a listener on and off over the years and this was a very disappointing show. Lots of generalizations about Traditionalists and painting us all in broad strokes with ugly colors…oh, and dressing us in tatty lace, too. Reflect, y’all. We traddies have our problems but we aren’t THE problem in the Church today. Beating up on your brothers and sisters is not cool. Could there have been other ways to discuss some serious topics without being so arrogant and unkind? Beams and splinters, boys.

Well meaning, but…
Well meaning, but plenty of modern heresies. Lots of opinion based on anecdotal theology, but so much rationalization and lack of courage to follow truth to the logical conclusions.

Hoping for the best
I have been a listener for years and usually enjoy the podcasts. I hope it doesn't get too bogged down in heavy duty theology. Father Nathan added so much to the program with his humor and pastoral approach. I will continue to listen, but I will miss him. I wish you all well and appreciate the work you put into all of the podcasts.

A show about nothing
I have no idea what this podcast is supposed to be about. I’ve tried to listen to a few episodes, but as far as I can tell, it’s just 2 guys talking about themselves for an hour. Absolutely painful.

You guys are real
For many years I have listened to you banter, discuss, teach and inspire. Thank you for every minute. As a mom of six, including four boys, I know well that those we are closest to and love the most are often the hardest to get along with- yet it is those relationships that are worth the most. We are praying for each of you and your brotherhood. God Bless! P.S. perhaps a good ol’ fist fight, nerf war or pie in the face fight might help. P.p.s. Our Mother has your back.

Thank you
Very early in your podcast journey, I stumbled across you guys. I had never really listened to a podcast before. My youngest was a baby and we were just dipping our feet back into our fallen away faith. I also wanted to exercise more. So, while my baby was sleeping, I’d walk laps around the house and listen to y’all. You brought me hope, knowledge, and closer to my own faith (as well as exercise 😉). I’ve continued listening, albeit not always regularly. I’m praying for you all.

Listening for over 10 years now and Loving it
Thanks for the information and teaching over the years. I truly have enjoyed listening. I finally got into a RCIA class. Thanks for referring me to listen to Bishop Barron and Bible in a Year with FR Mike. I hope you all the best and I hope that the LORD guidance in your lives includes you either together or apart teaching online.

I love the random topics
Been listening for about a year and a half now. “The Podcast” is real, organic, and Colorado chill. If you’re looking for systematic catechesis, this ain’t it, folks. But if you’re looking for personally challenging and edifying Catholic conversation, diverse personalities, and a glimpse into the real lives of priests trying to change the world and the Church for the better by starting with themselves... this podcast is THE STUFF. Topics are always organic—springing from the real lives and hearts of these guys—and thus, they are never boring or overdone. My Thursday afternoon drives are a sheer delight. I look forward to it all week! P.S. Their episodes on the summer 2018 scandals were the best I heard anywhere. If you’re struggling, check them out.

A Testament to Authentic Friendship
I think the most recent release at the time of this writing (Announcement) encapsulates perfectly why I’ve followed this podcast since the first day of my conversion to the Catholic faith. It takes genuine men with a desire to make Saints to bring such candor to a whole audience of strangers, and even though there may have been no initial desire to share content in the brief state of the union, it gave language to feelings and experiences I’ve had on FOCUS teams and will benefit my own prayer life and discernment towards the apostolate I’m in. May your discernment be blessed, and no matter what awaits, I’m very thankful for the long, strange trip it’s been.

I enjoy listening this podcast and I wait for Thursdays! I enjoy the banter - it makes me know them more. Thank you father!! Keep at it and I look forward to meeting you in person one day!!! Maybe I’ll meet father Olaf sooner since we r now in same state - lol blessings from a faithful listener
