Murder Podcast
It’s simple. Condoms, morning after pill or closing your thighs will keep you from getting pregnant. So barbaric to go straight to killing the baby with really no thought at all about it. Like your getting your tonsils out. Disgusting and I’m glad states now have the right to choose. Women who want to kill babies can just move to a state that have drive thru abortions every time they get pregnant.

Love this pod. Amazing storytelling
This podcast is so good. It’s so informative and interesting all because the storytelling is so good. Like I’m sure this is so cathartic to hear for women that face similar problems but for me it’s all about hearing amazingly crafted stories and that moment every episode where the subject of the episode finally feels seen and believed. That’s such a great moment for the listener to hear!! And it happens every ep! 💕

Boring
There’s no medical mysteries, it’s just women with pretty straightforward mental problems.

Truly Special
One of the most thoughtful podcasts out there. The story telling is vulnerable, insightful, patient, funny and tender.

OBSESSED
I’m in love with this podcast! Bodies arrived in my life at a time that I really needed it. For the past three years, I have been learning about the many chronic illness I live with. The very first episode of Bodies is about vulvodynia and helped me realize I have vulvodynia too. Something I realized from my own experiences with chronic illnesses is that the more I am honest about my chronic illnesses, the more family and friends are honest about their own bodies too. Bodies podcast has this same beautiful effect. It is so refreshing to listen to people talk about the parts of their bodies that make them feel alone, and in listening, realize you are not so alone yourself.

A roadmap, a guiding star - a portal to honesty.
I felt seen almost immediately. I felt invited to be present not only with the host but with myself. I have experienced issues with painful sex and have recently been using birth control to help with PMDD and I didn’t realize. The silence, the gaping hole in the conversation is all of the horrible side effects I could potentially experience. I highly recommend if you want to feel in and of your own body and attempt to embody someone else’s physical experience and agony. So good!!!!! Thank you for this pod ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am blown away by this show.
Someone really close to me shared the Sex Hurt episode, which was the first one I’ve ever listened to. Allison, you’re an insanely talented podcaster and journalist. Thank you for sharing your experience. I was blown away by not only your story and all the insights you shared, but the production, the smoothness of this show. I’m a podcaster myself so I completely nerd-ed out in that regard. Thank you so, so much for this show. This is so deeply important.

Girl Talk - self care with a hint of realness
This podcast is deep girl talk in your room eating your favorite snacks with a side of tissues. The stories are complex and at times will have you in deep thought about your own body. This podcast is a must listen! I have already recommended it to all the women in my life❤️❤️❤️.

Invisible impact
Thank you for making this episode. I have known that I have ptsd from my marriage but hearing another woman talk about how that’s a symptom or a byproduct of her tbi is so helpful for me. Thank you thank you.

Important & intriguing
Well recorded and important conversations surrounding the bodies we live in. These conversations get me thinking introspectively and as a whole.

So well told
I came to this podcast from the cut podcast when Avery mentioned that Allison was leaving the cut to do season 3 of bodies. I have only listened to two episodes and tearing up each time.

Some of their facts were incorrect
Some facts were incorrect in the episodes I listened to, makes me wonder about the accuracy of the topics in which I am not already knowledgeable.

A Hypochondriac’s Worst Nightmare
This show made me stressed out. Sometimes not knowing the details of every potential health problem the planet is for the best. I would rather listen to something calming and nourishing like my favorite murder.

I share this all the time
I tell all the women in my life about this podcast. So interesting and makes you feel less alone. We gotta look out for each other!

My favorite podcast!
A friend recommended this podcast ages ago and I can't believe it took me so long to listen to! I binged both seasons over the course of a weeklong roadtrip and am obsessed. The format is so engaging and I love how the hosts contextualize individual stories in the broader medical system/complex. As a former public health proefessional, I loved how she uses personal stories to delve into deeper issues. Though it doesn't always expliclity touch on the feminist themes underpinnning the premise, it's so illuminating to hear how/why women and trans people are often left to their own devices when it comes to solving their own medical issues. It's also just such a relief that every episode ends on a positive note. Love this podcast! I'd be interested in future seasons to hear a story about how fatphobia within the medical system impacts patient (mis)diagnosis and treatment since that's a huge element of healthcare!

So good!
I knew nothing about this podcast before I started to listen to it. OMG it is SO freakin’ interesting! I binged and now it’s over. I’m sad. You should 100% listen to this, the host is awesome and the subject matter is fascinating. I loved it! I want more!

Enlightened podcast
You could find some important issues in our bodies and be aware that the way we cope with them is blind, because of the lack of enough knowledge to research and follow our symptoms accurately. This podcast not only provides real stories with a great form and quality both in the storytelling techniques and sound effects but also you find yourself more understandable as well and at the same time, you became more understanding to other people. This is not you that is something wrong with, however this feeling you have is just the manifestation of some lacks in both research and practice leading us to feel we are alone and nobody really connects with us. This is the first step for the change! Enjoy the path!

I love this podcast!
This podcast has quickly become one of my faves. I love the format of it and the subject matter. It’s very thought provoking and has challenged some of the old views I held about my own body. Looking forward to Season 3!

Diver and thought provoking stories
Despite how different these people may be from me, makes me realize how connected we are to others and how the systems we live in affect others. Also, can't help but dance along to the ending theme :)

Can’t wait for more
Just started this podcast after my NP recommended it. She noticed I’m very curious and into research and being my own health advocate. Well, she nailed it. Love this podcast so far. Informational and educational but so human and with good story telling. Maybe most episodes don’t apply to me but what if I can share what I learn with others and help them somehow? Keep them coming!

A New Favorite
I stumbled across this podcast in my never ending search to find something compelling to listen to. It does not disappoint and truly reinforces the issues women have when seeking medical treatment. So many stories of symptoms being dismissed like we don’t live in these bodies. Listen and learn folks!

Re: Changing Shape
I have only listened to a few episodes of the podcast but I want to address something that was said in Nico’s story, Changing Shape. In regards to having a psychiatric examination prior to top surgery, they say: “This is specific to trans people. Cis people don’t need to meet with a therapist before undergoing a breast reduction or augmentation, or any other type of plastic surgery.” This is categorically untrue. Some procedures, including elective procedures such as weight reduction surgeries, require clearance from a therapist/psychologist before being able to proceed. A good friend of mine was directed to engage in therapy prior to getting a breast reduction. I don’t think it’s accurate or true to assert that this is something relegated to trans people only. I understand this is Nico’s story, and I appreciate them sharing it. However, I would suggest a correction about this. ***Addition - I just finished binging the whole series and absolutely loved it. Thank you for focusing on women’s health issues.***

Someone sees us
These are stories and symptoms and lives that we live in secret. I cry a lot when I listen, both for the silent ways we’ve suffered and survived and the joy at hearing it spoken.

Empowering and Educational
Just binged all the episodes and I wish there were more. The storytelling is so delicate and AB does a fantastic job gaining trust from the interviewees. I finally have the nerve to google things about my body that I try to ignore.

PARAMOUNT if you've ever been on the pill
Emotional because even at 27 I'm still learning about my body. How is it that womxn aren't taught about their sexual organs? How is it that the research on birth control side effects, female pleasure, and hormone disregulation isn't common knowledge - or better yet, common health lessons? A conservative, patriarchal society has harmed womxn for far too long, listening to this is another important step in achieving equal treatment, both in medicine and the law.

Intimate and empowering
This show is the perfect combination of advocacy, inquiry, and intrigue. I am constantly blown away by the way AB gains the trust of her subjects to explore many uncomfortable topics in ways I’ve never heard before. I am not part of the FB community, but I love the goal of mutual support. Very empowering! I can’t wait for more!
