I found this podcast and listened to every episode in one sitting. It shows me how accumulated wisdom and experience benefits not only the bearer, but also those who hear from them. I wish Mr. Rather would restart making these episodes.

First time I listened, had a big sigh of relief. Needed some history to understand where we as Americans are right now....probably in the hands of those greedy, unknowledgeable, traitorous regime who Yes, we will remove all of these hoaxers hopefully sooner than later.

Dear Dan, I love this podcast! I wanted your perspective because you have so much history to draw from... you have been there, done that and bought a bunch of t-shirts. You are able to communicate the severity of our situation with a calm hope. The information you bring as background historical facts help me to have the ability to compare and remember. Mr. Rather, we have not heard from you in a while. I have no doubt that if you could sooth our fears you would. I am a generation X Texan. I grew up hearing your concerned, confident and sincere voice in my living room. When Trump was appointed our president I went into a depression and became and am still extremely angry and disappointed in my fellow citizens. Your voice has been extremely soothing for me. You have been a refreshing reminder that a human can be from Texas and can also speak truth to power intelligently. I thank you for your service and I wish you peace. ❤️

Dan Rather is like Walter Cronkite to me. The voice of true journalism / the Elder Reporter I did not realize I was missing until I heard it again. Bringing his experiences reporting the news from the 60s to today and reminding us of all that has happened. The history or the story behind the news.

I am a 37 year old woman and I have been listening to the podcast since it began. The reason I was interested in listening to Dan Rather’s take on current news is because I do respect his life experience and I feel like Dan is one of the “old school” journalists who try to make the world a better place by seeking truth and publishing it. I really liked the episode “Enemy of the People,” because it emphasized the danger of targeting the press, one of America’s basic institutions of free speech. Having said that, I do have a few critiques: I just listened to the episode on race and I was disappointed in how incomplete it was. This subject deserves much much more than a brief history of racism in America, followed by one of the most annoying phrases ever coined : “We can do better America.” Thanks for the scolding, Dad. We know we should do better. But why don’t we? Maybe dig a little deeper and find out what people are gaining from racism. Or just offer some practical ideas to combat it. I just think if you are going to tackle that subject, you need to really go after it. Thanks

I'm a fan of Dan's writing: intelligent, thoughtful, maybe even poetic. I was happy to see him have a podcast and I like it. Only complaint is that it is entirely too short. It would be much better if Dan could do an hour-long show. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

My first memory of Dan Rather is of his report on Tiananmen Square. The official story was that nothing happened, and so he said it - and followed up with that story being a lie. From then on, I trusted his integrity and I'm so glad he's active in media again.

I love listening to Dan Rather! His message is short, clear, and to the point; I also like how he ends each episode with a relevant poem!

I listened to all of 3 podcasts (so far) this afternoon. Given the unsettling condition of recent events I had a strong desire to listen to Dan Rather’s thoughts & wisdom from his long years of broadcasting and his thoughtful perspective. Lo and behold I found these jewels of podcasts. His historical perspective held my attention totally and it gave me the hope we can survive this difficult time together. I somehow found his podcasts calming and hopeful. Dan, please keep on speaking to us and podcasting, EVERYONE wants to hear what you have to say!

As Rather puts it, he's not left wing, right wing, or chicken wing... he's just trying to get to the truth. He is a trusted voice during chaotic times.

It took me a few weeks to listen because I just didn't know if I could take listening to the news. I was wrong. Dan Rather's is a calming voice in the storm that we are living in. I'm so glad I subscribed.
