First time =last time
Tuned in for the first time to hear some guy making generalizations about what people think and do about their health namely “immune systems”. I won’t listen to someone who talks down to people. Increasing one’s immunity (you don’t want to do this he says) does NOT result in an anaphylaxis condition as he reported. Extremism here helps no one. ...And to insult us by saying a system is not one thing (as he says people believe) -it’s complicated. Really? His words and attitude sound like those of some charlatans I’ve heard who have something to sell you. I didn’t hang around long enough to find out. It’s unfortunate for this podcast that I first tuned in here - First impressions and all. Sign me “Not a subscriber”

Surprising, Enlightening!
I have learned so much from this podcast. Food-related topics that I would have never been aware of. And a joy to listen to. Maddie, Kiera and Tom are wonderful hosts!

Fantastic and real!
It’s obvious that the Mother Jones team puts extraordinary effort into finding guests that are authentic and truly care about being a positive force in this world. But what sets Bite apart is the variety of episodes, the super practical takeaways and the sincerity that Tom, Kiera and Maddie bring to the show — it’s consistent, it’s human, and it’s entertaining :)

want politix, got food,
but nutrition is my field as health ecologist/biochemistry-sociology lifestyle-environmentalist, e.g., all dis-ease/discomfort effect, not cause, sign of hypoglycemia/low glucose brain-fuel, the symptom of blood-pollution, fake food as unevolved to digest by earliest ancestors crawling on ground, easting green cabbage or big spinach, red & miniature, respectively, hybrids, like recipes' new chemicals shock after eye-bags & dark circles/edema/water retained to cushion live tissues bruised by undigested fake food so spiked molecules of acid/rot="cancer",...,

Too political
I love learning about food and cooking but this podcast focuses more on food politics than cooking. Not what I was looking for.

Skipping...
Great podcast, love everything about it except the ads and skipping. For some reason, when I pause it, it will always take me back to ad no matter where in the podcast I’ve paused it and will restart the episode

Not bad, but Kiera! Learn how to pronounce Pecan!!

Content amount poor
I am listening to “Everything you love about food means nothing to this guy”. 9:45 minutes in with only 10:03 to go, all I have listened to is content teasers and ads. I will wait to see if this changes, but otherwise will stop listening.

SO great
One of my absolute favorites in food and culture. Great hosts and smart takes.

BITE just recorded its 50th episodes!
Listen to the latest podcast in a great series about food and life. This episode is peppered with colorful insights about some of this year’s Oscar-nominated movies. Definitely subscribe.

Some advertising is acceptable but on this podcast it is excessive and annoying so I unsubscribed.

I ❤️Bite😋
I'm a huge foodie- I wrote my undergraduate thesis about the prevalence and importance of food imagery in American literature! I work now with a non-profit that supports a network of community gardens. I find that this podcast really delivers on its promise of helping people think hard about their food. I love the variety of food topics covered, and the features are so fun. It's a dream of mine to meet Maddie and Kira💕 (!!!)Thanks for making my commute much more delicious!!

a must for foodies
Blown away by this marvelously well produced podcast .

Not as food centric as it should be
I listened to 4 podcasts. Annoyed that it's not really about food. More focus seems to be on the (boring) stories of people who eat and work around food. Good production quality though

Great show
Probably my favorite food podcasts! Great topics, interviews, and hosts. Keep it up!

Love Bite and MoJo!
Love this podcast but wish it was weekly!

Good
Have listened to all the episodes and have really enjoyed the podcast. Wish some of your guests were a little more enthusiastic about food and healthy food, as some of them come across as just people who have fallen into the niche of food writing... cough cough... anyways, I think Gross or Tasty was pretty cute, please include a segment similar where you ask guests to provide a very simple 5 minute meal or simple snack that they swear by... Also think the podcast could be a tad longer...

Deliciously Informative
As an old-time reader of New Times and Mother Jones magazines, as well as the Simple Cooking newsletter, this podcast pushes a unique combination of buttons for me. I tuned in to hear the muckraking article about "The Codfather" and I liked the entire style of the podcast and the way it had the easy-going yet professional attitude of programs like All Things Considered and This American Life. The story was highly interesting but when it was over I found the following story about Appalachian victuals to be equally interesting. I just subscribed.

Bite
Bite provides a platform for the food issues voices of our time. It's interesting, unique, relevant and well produced with a vibrant blend of smart guests. Topics are always different and generally made approachable. Worth a listen.

Take Notes!
I take notes while I listen at work. I'm 6 episodes in and so far the hosts do not try to convert you to vegetarianism or veganism, which is nice.
Help! I am BORED!
Fun and Informative
Really enjoy the political and human interest stories and the many faces of Health policy and food news.

Different Take on Food
Not just another cooking show, Bite covers stories about food and healthy eating that are unique, interesting and well presented.

Reverse patronization
You know who knows how to pronounce victuals? Baby boomers who watched The Beverly Hillbillies, that's who. The Codfather thing was cute, but pounded into the ground, and actually the Portuguese name should have been used more. The story was not told well at all. I'm sure it was well written, but discussing a story on a broadcast is different. The author should listen to interviews with journalists on Fresh Air for good ones and Cspan for some bad ones. I'm a liberal, a foodie, an avid consumer of political news. I have read Arlie Hochschild's book. The Appalachian cook book author was condescending, I enjoyed similar summer feasts in New Jersey. I love Mother Jones, and I wish this podcast well, but it has some growing up to do.

Honestly, my only critique is that the stories could be longer. We need more media like this!

Love it!
A great mix of journalism, story telling, and facts about today's current events and food. A nice break from cooking pods.

Honesty at it's finest
This podcast is great. I love the contributors and their point of view. The structure is great and the audio is what I expect from a quality podcast. My only negative is their left leaning view that doesn't include Black, Brown, and Red views from the blue collar side of things. Can't stick up for us if you don't know where we come from.

Not to my taste
This podcast, like many other food podcasts, consists of a good deal of giggles, insider jokes and chatter. Could use some recurring features and higher production values.

Comprehensive Food Information
An excellent, engaging source of knowledge about all things related to food. Have been looking since 12/16/16 for the next episode & hope it shows up soon.

I want to love it, but...
Food and the food industry is my favorite topic so I want to love this podcast, but it needs some help. The content is great but the delivery/ production is severely lacking. There is zero energy, excitement or humor from the hosts or guests. It sounds like an old public access show, and basically puts me to sleep each episode with the monotone delivery. I don't need fireworks or cartwheels, but the hosts manage to sound uninterested in the information they are sharing. There are some podcasts that can take a topic I don't care much about and make it fascinating, but this one is the opposite- taking topics I am super excited by and boring me with them. Still room to improve!

Love it.
Bite is my new favorite podcast! They information they present is interesting as well as informative, and it has affected my eating habits and the way I approach food. I appreciate that their guests are from different countries. If you are interested in learning about food culture, science, and politics, this is the podcast for you.

Not just cooking and foodie stuff, good journalism.
This is not just a cooking or foodie show. It's a smart podcast with talented journalists. The topics vary and help consumers make better decisions whether it's related to health, human rights, or environmental impact.

I always learn new and interesting things
Love this podcast and can't wait to see how it grows! I've learned so much since I began listening. it's truly smart!

Wonderful Podcast
Just started listening today and like what I hear. However, one request, Tom, can you please equalize your voice channel from 100% left to 70/30 left/right? I listen a lot with just one ear pod in and I get nothing from you when I do that. Otherwise a great show.

Highly recommend this podcast!
Bite covers cutting edge issues from all angles surrounding food, from sustainability and human rights in food production and service, to safety and taste in consumption. They cover food's whole path from seed to plate, too: growing, processing, preparation and eating. Great job by the Bite team!

The whole picture about food
Tom does an amazing job providing a 360 degree view of food...the politics, science, and art. You won't find another podcast like it. Take notes, because this is important :) Highly recommend.

Great podcast on food and food politics
This fascinating new podcast takes us behind the scenes into subjects like food fraud, the politics of tipping, school lunches, and how to trick your brain into eating better. A must listen!

Insightful, informative and fun!
Hats off to the Bite producers! They've been nailing each podcast with educational and interesting news in a field that often feels oversaturated. Thanks for delivery fresh and interesting morsels each week!
