A refuge for discovery
Michael’s talks continue to inspire me to consider, question, and affirm my true nature. They have prompted many talks with family and friends about the world we live in and how we can effectively love and care for each other better. This podcast offers itself as a refuge from the world of hyper-materialism, to explore and discover what matters most in life. I am grateful for Michael, his work, and for those who continue to share these talks.

Best podcast for me
I am so touched on Michael Stone’s ability to share his experience and learnings in common language on Buddhism. I feel like he is speaking to me, and guiding me on the path. His voice is soft and he is able to mix in small amounts of humor in his serious teaching. If you want to better understand the Buddhist teachings, I have not found any better source than this wonderful teacher.

Michael is truly a gift
I feel so grateful to have discovered Michael. His teachings are deep, heartfelt and honest. I have never experienced anything like this before - that depth without any agenda for the “right” way we should live and think.

One of my best finds!
I found out about Michael’s work of art in his latest book- The World Comes To You. I couldn’t stop reading and listening to his teachings. I’m also so sad to have found out that he is no longer with us. I feel like he’s one of the most awesome modern teachers that I’ve found lately and just cannot imagine how much difference he could have made in this world from the visions that he shared. I’m so grateful for whom that is still uploading his teachings in this podcast. I will definitely recommend his teachings to anyone who wants to wake up or even curious about the topic. The teaching is golden especially coming from his heart.

Gets to the heart of buddhist teachings
This podcast has been the most in depth and down to earth explanation of buddhism i've come across. Michael sources his teachings directly from the palicannon (buddhas direct words) and translates them in a way thats easy to understand and relatable. He has a beautiful way of weaving poetry and koans into his teachings. If you want to get to the heart of buddhist teachings, and bypass much of the spiritual materialism making false promises of enlightenment, this podcast is for you. I only wish I got to study and meet Michael, as his teachings have had such a great impact on me and my loved ones.

So many gifts
I have listened to these talks for years. I feel deeply grateful that they are shared online. There are a wide range of recordings, including led meditations which are wonderful if you are new to sitting practice or need some refinements. The lectures that deal with psychology/ mental states are absolutely transformative for people who have struggled with difficult experiences and feel constrained, rather than supported, by standard congnitive interpretations of emotion states. If you are a care practitioner, even in the broadest sense, these podcasts are invaluable. Next, some podcasts follow a Buddhist text, a Koan, a passage from western philosophy. Even without being physically present, it is easy to follow along. I have studied the texts alongside the recordings, or sometimes just listened. Favorites are “Master Ma is Unwell” and “Bring me something that isn’t medicine”. These kinds of episodes sit with you for some time. I find the ideas resurface in my daily life and teach me to be more fully in/of the world. Truly gifts! For yoga teachers, there are excellent episodes on the yoga sutra, yoga philosophy and a breakdown on the ashtanga invocation. Very useful for personal study!

Insight
The Dharma talks are illuminating. The integration of psychology, poetry, Buddhism, and real life experience is unmatched. Michael Stone gives us a modern and literary take on the great thinkers in Buddhism and enhances these ideas for modern times. In addition, Michael's goal is to make us our own teacher, If you have ever suffered from grief, depression, regret, rage, or jealousy, these podcast gives you greater insight in to how to cope, how to find your own voice in facing daily struggles, as well as give insight into the larger picture of your life. They are essential to my well being.

Quite Good, Actually
The talks are well thought out, honest and free of the over abundance of esoteric Buddhist terms and phrases sometimes encountered in retreats. I enjoy this podcast and look forward to new installments.

audience is too distracting
There's something unattractive about being in a roomful of people that agree with you. The nervous laughter from those healing arts folks has a tone that you'll hear at any given temple or retreat center! If over-compensation has ever been audible it's in this laughter. And it's like hearing a mind becoming more narrow...which is tragically ironic. Groucho Marx said, "I don't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member." But yeah, this is all cynical/negative. I know, it's tough. But the privilege of the new age archetypes is not being addressed. Nothing quite like a bunch of self absorbed individuals performing a group hug. Yep, I have plenty to deal with. But I do care : )
