ADU 1344: How to Get a Wide Area Authorization?
Is it easy to get wide area authorizations? Who should you reach out and how to plan your pricing for projects that require wide area authorizations? On Today's podcast, we discuss all about obtaining wide area authorizations and the steps involved for getting these approvals. Today's question is from Ryan, who would like to know the best ways for seeking authorizations for an area that Ryan is looking to fly in. Standard FAA maps shows the area requiring heavy approvals and authorizations to be in place and Ryan would like to know what would be the best way to address this. Thanks for the question, Ryan. In response to today's question, we start off discussing the traditional approval approach for flying in heavily regulated airspace and that has been done through LAANC. We discuss some of the limitations of LAANC and share ways to obtain wide area authorizations. we discuss in detail about our experience getting these approvals in the past and the ways that we used to seek authorizations.
