Unnecessarily complicated.
He takes simple subject matter and complicates it with his weird stories and analogies.

BEST to start speaking comfortably
You can play all the silly games and learn to say “my gorilla eats bread” on other apps, but this one takes you step by step on how to get your brain thinking like a Spanish speaker. Short episodes that cemented the concepts. Great for adult learners too!

Is this dude on acid?
He’s talking about a doctor eating melted wax on the roof of the burning building ??? To illustrate the use of ir ?? Plus no one can become fluent in one month. Full stop. What a crock. I spent months studying one on one fully in Spanish while living in Guatemala and yeah that wasn’t fluency. He’s talking about ir and saying it’s a building shaped like an ear in English. Which is confusing and distracting. Like this dude seriously took too much el essay day (LSD) except he seems to square for that even haha. Maybe too much adderal haha.

“Dawn-de”??? Episode 35b
The idea is understandable- relating words… But the pronunciation is incorrect. “Donde”, phonetically, would look like “dOHnDAY”

Love this podcast
I love the structure of the lessons Introducing the most important verbs with the tense at the same time is great Only thing I’m having issues with is practicing with a native speaker

I just found this podcast today. Where are the first 15 episodes? I went to your website to look at the images you said go along with the scenes in each episode. Still waiting on the email to gain access to the free course.

The best!
I am so happy to have stumbled on this! After trying to teach myself on my own from books and friends, etc., this works! It is weird at first but if you stick with it after about three lessons you realize how genius this is. And it is funny too! After working hard for three weeks I am now on the intermediate level. This is the best!!!

so great!
I think this system is pretty brilliant. Also, these lessons are truly free. They tell you how to find the more expansive and advanced programs they offer, of course, but it doesn’t get in the way of the teaching. I am so happy with the free version, when the time comes I will gladly pay for the more intensive programs that use this unusual, effective, fun, smart, EFFECTIVE approach. I am learning so much more (and more useful) Spanish with this mnemonic technique. I’d give them 10 stars if I could

A summary of complaints...
“I’ve tried and failed 317 Spanish courses. This course is weird. Why can’t it be like al the other ones that didn’t work???”

Wheres the spanish?
30+ minutes 2nd episode and I haven’t learned anything. Guys making up imaginary personalities and stories about a bee. Just keeps talking and repeating the same thing over and over move on so we can actually get to the lesson..... way too much story time and no real spanish. Way too much relation to the bee, making it way more confusing

Talks too much
He talks way too much narrating instead of getting to teaching Spanish! I’ve listened to 3 episodes and learned nothing! My drive is only 20 min
Kiwisweety
Worth a shot with 1-60 episodes
The episodes are jumbled but play fine in the Cue. Once you get over that it’s great. I even bought the book to help. It’s slow at first but once you have mastered the basics. And use them correctly people will think you are native the way you use the idioms and verb forms correctly. Highly recommended

I am behind. Yes, but all the shows I downloaded vanished from my cue. Guess it’s alright. I’m sick of Yo and Tim’s long stories for obvious words.

Excelente Podcast. I am a Spanish native speaker
Great show in Spanish. If you want to improve your Spanish skills, you can listen my Podcast “TODO CAMBIA”. It’s only 6 minutos and enough for listening. Mejora tu comprensión en español. I am able for collaboration!

This is the one
This is the most amazing and unique language learning system. This guy is a genius and is sharing all of his work for completely free and with no advertising or endless self promotion. I have taken a college Spanish class and tried numerous apps and programs. They all try to push massive amounts of vocabulary on you fast and encourage you to keep moving forward even if you haven’t mastered the previous lesson. This course is the opposite. He doesn’t want you to move on until you have completely internalized the previous lesson so that you are building on solid foundation. He teaches you the structure and the way the spanish language functions first. I love that I can speak in the past future or any tense right from the beginning before I am asked to memorize 1,000 verbs. After trying to learn spanish for years, I still could only speak in the present tense until I started Lesson 2. I feel like I am actually learning Spanish rather than translating English into Spanish.I have wished for something like this, but no other program uses this approach. He is a native English speaker who has thoroughly explored the Spanish language so he knows how to explain it to an English speaking brain, even though he advises that you speak to a native speaker once a week to truly become fluent. The memory mnemonics work, and also ensure that you will never get bored. You will want to get on your computer and go to the website as the podcast is just auxillary to the actual program. You may not learn it all in 1 month, but you will feel confident about what you have learned no matter your pace. I am not paying the optional reasonable fee to have a personal native coach, but I feel like I am receiving a lot for no money. There are quizzes and games and homework assignments for each lesson so that you can practice until you feel confident to go to the next lesson. I am a busy teacher, so I wanted to go at my own pace. It is very generous to make this available to any person of any income. Thank you Timothy, for creating this amazing intricate program and for sharing it for free! What an accomplishment! I am grateful and learning a lot!

The Best Learning Spanish Podcasts
I am an intermediate-to-advanced Spanish speaker and I am using these podcasts to get myself squarely in the advanced class. I like the length, structure and content these podcasts offer. I highly recommend for anyone looking to advance their Spanish skills.

Advanced learner
My Spanish is advanced but flawed. Podcast is helping me shore things up. I wish he had a version that left out the Memory palace for those whose vocabulary and understanding of grammar is advanced but still need help speaking/thinking like a native speaker.

Use it along with the book, videos, flashcards, etc.
Consider this podcast an expanded audiobook version of Timothy Moser's book, Accelerated Spanish. The podcast is just part of the learning materials. Spend time with the text and the pictures, plus all the videos and flashcards you'll find at Spanishin1month.com. The system is unique, and powerful.

Solid course but quite flawed
Coming from someone who has listened to every episode, some multiple times... Pros 1. By far the best best part of the podcast are the quizzing lessons where Timothy lays off with babbling on and on about random stuff. 2. The idea behind using the most popular words first is also innovative and I haven’t found anything else like it However the flaws of this podcasts are pretty bad and almost make it unusable for me Cons 1.) Timothy talks WAAAAAAYYYY to much. I’m listening to the podcast to learn Spanish, not to listen to this guy ramble on and on. Also he has several podcast dedicated solely to exposing some of his unsuccessful students that didn’t follow his plan word for word. I find that kind of childish and I honestly lost respect for Timothy because of this. 2.) the memory palace was absolutely useless. Maybe other listeners had success with the whole Joel story but I found it completely ridiculous. I understand that the stories associated with certain words are supposed to standout since that would in theory help with memory retention. However I thought they were cringy and comical at times. 3. The dialogues are decent however the flow of the stories are very forced. It seems like the creator of the dialogue was forcefully trying to insert certain phrases without regard to how they would work in a real conversation. 4. Timothy’s Spanish accent is not great and he shouldn’t be the model for the listeners to imitate. He narrates the quiz lessons and therefore he personally gives the correct answers. It seems counterintuitive that the listener model their speech after a non native Spanish speaker. 5. Half of the quiz answers are given in English. Personally this is the most frustrating part because it completely ruins the flow of learning. 6. The corny saying Timothy says after every podcast is really annoying and should be removed.

Very good but...
First of all these podcasts have been great for my Spanish learning experience. The system of learning about subjunctive before hola or adios and starting with the most common words and conjugations rather than memorize a conjugation chart is brilliant. Also the way he switches between subject and tense when going over examples forces your brain to get out of the memorization routine. I am no language teacher but have learned a couple in the past. I don’t find the whole memory palace thing useful. I cannot remember where I put my glasses 5 minutes ago; what are the chances that I will remember where I put each word in the memory palace? Also I find it odd that he insists that the learner should learn no other words than what’s in the course nor listen to any other resource or will risk straying from the right path. It may be true that you will master 300 words enough to be fluent but you will still understand nothing when they respond. Also I must say the dialogues we must master like second nature get pretty boring and that will stifle any learning experience. I wish there were (subjunctive) a version of this course without Joel the bee and with more repetition especially in the second half of the course.

Conjugation intensive, very valuable
Makes heavy use of mnemonics, so if you jump in half way you might be confused. sample some of the earlier episodes to get your bearings. this is the best course available for working through verb conjugations that I have found.

Bad
This is not a natural accent at all. Many translations are not correct and I don't understand why he chooses to only translate part of the phrase??

Better than Rosetta Stone!
I found Timothy's podcasts while searching and grasphing for a program where I could actually learn spanish. I had been actively working through Rosetta Stone in addition to duolingo and lots of other apps and spanish podcasts, however I didn't feel like I was really learning anything other than vocabulary. Timothy's approach is much easier with a great concept of learning the foundations before just bouncing around with vocabulary and making sentences that you'll never use. You will learn the words that are used most frequently with almost a child-like approach to help reinforce everything. Once you create your foundation then you build on top of that. His program could easily re-invent what spanish teachers teach in spanish classes and kids would actually learn.

Fun Way to Learn
This is a great way to learn Spanish. Timothy has such a great technique to remember how to speak Spanish starting with the most commonly used words. I have learned so much more from a few of his lessons than I ever did in high school.

Great, structured course for improving your Spanish skills
This is an excellent course that greatly improved my understanding of Spanish language structure and helped me better understand which form of a word to use. Although I was initially put off by the strange structure used by this program, if you stick with it and accept what the program is trying to force you to do (i.e., better mentally organize the language), as I did, you’ll find the format very helpful.

Brilliant
I tried a dozen or so Spanish podcasts and have found this one to be the most useful by far. It recommends a very different approach to learning a language, and while it can feel slow at first, it really works. The idea is to learn the fabric of the language as a native speaker would understand it rather than focusing on learning a bunch of nouns so that you can point at things and say what they are. It ultimately leads to true fluency rather than just the ability to identify objects.

Good System
This is a great learning system. The best I've come across.

This podcast is the first time I've really understood what I was learning in Spanish!
I was skeptical when I was first introduced to this podcast. I had tried learning a language on my own before with tapes, books and programs that were supposedly guaranteed to work. These programs were either too confusing, didn't explain a concept well enough, or just gave me vocabulary I was supposed to memorize without giving me any tools to do so. That being said, Accelerated Spanish is a VERY effective way to learn a language. Concepts that I had been struggling to understand in my Spanish class at school were explained in such a way that it made sense and stuck with me, through this podcast. Vocabulary that was very difficult for me to remember was suddenly very simple to remember, because Timothy Moser uses memory learning hacks and visualization to help you through learning the vocabulary, and really making it stick. I would HIGHLY recommend this podcast to ANYONE wondering how on earth they can manage to learn a language in a short amount of time, and make it simple. I only wish that I had started this program sooner! VERY EFFECTIVE.

Amazing Program
This is by far the best Spanish podcast out there. Can't believe how easy and fun it's been to learn Spanish using Timothy's methods. I think a big problem with other Spanish podcasts and courses is that they take more of an unstructured, scattershot approach, trying to get you to memorize words and phrases before you really understand the basics of Spanish. Timothy's approach is just the opposite, he teaches you the basics first, and does so in a logical and structured way, so you're learning the most important words first. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can have actual conversations in Spanish using Timothy's approach. And of course the memory techniques Timothy uses makes it so much easier to remember everything. With other programs it's difficult to remember Spanish words and phrases unless you spend a ton of time doing rote memorization drills, but with Timothy's methods I find myself remembering most things permanently after hearing them the first time.

Incredibly Helpful.
This is an incredible podcast to help in one’s Spanish studies. The use of mnemonics is paramount to its success, and to augment it I would recommend one sit with the narratives and make them more graphic, more personal and thus resonate with greater effect as there is an inherent limitation in having to provide a generalized virtual memory palace, but a limitation easily overcome.

Valuable Spanish help
Tim does a great job introducing the listener to different tenses, conjugations, moods early on so that you can speak more quickly and express more ideas as you are learning to the podcast. Thats the great part of this podcast, it helps you to start conversing early on so that you can speak Spanish, as that is the goal of anyone learning the language. I highly recommend this to anyone learning Spanish because it will give great tips and information on the language and speaking quicker.

Practical and effective
I'm a beginner Spanish learner. In an effort to boost my learning, I began a search for a Spanish language learning podcast. I tried a few and they were all problematic: some were too short, others low quality, and still others ineffective. Then I stumbled upon Accelerated Spanish. The system is sound, the information "sticks" with me, and I find the material well-paced. Highly recommend you give it a shot!
