Like having a friend to keep you company while decluttering
Such a great podcast! I listen to Dana when I am decluttering, just doing the dishes or look look always looking. Having a friend in this podcast helps me break through my decluttering paralysis and keep going! So many great suggestions and techniques that have actually helped in my real life!

Great approach
I think Dana's approach is so helpful. If you follow her steps it's all moves toward a less cluttered life, and "dishes math" is the truth. I've heard other organizers say that dishes can wait, but I don't find that to be a good approach. This week's "finding the joy" episode was great. How much would we pay for more space... a lot more than we'd pay for more junk!

Life changing!
Thank you, Dana, for your commitment to writing and podcasting for “the rest of us.” Since finding your podcast, I’ve been able to declutter throughout my house (without making a bigger mess!) and I’m so happy with the results. Five minute pick ups, doing the dishes every day, and “take it there now” are absolutely life changing concepts. Yesterday afternoon a young adult at my church texted that their Bible study location needed to change due to illness and asked if they could meet at my house that night. I immediately said yes, and it took less than an hour to be ready for them. I focused on the bathroom and the floors and was ready to go because the rest of my house is under control. Thank you for helping me live the life of service I’m wanting to live.

Repeating Q&A answers
I really enjoy listening and have gone through many podcasts looking for my situation but can’t seem to find it. I submit my question all the time for a Q&A but she just keeps answering the same things that could be found in her books and other episodes over and over.

Solutions to real life problems
Dana’s teachings have helped me get my house in order and has motivated me to declutter which has helped reduce the stress in my life

Can we be friends, Dana?
Who would’ve thought that a structured decluttering and house-management process and the mantra “progress not perfection” would have such a positive and profound impact, not only in my home but also in my daily life. Growing up, I was never taught HOW to keep things tidy. I was nagged and criticized until I stuffed everything into my bedroom closet. As a perfectionistic adult who has now accumulated too much stuff, Dana’s realistic and nonjudgmental system has allowed my home to make actual progress, little by little. We still have a long way to go, but I now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Getting rid of things feels a lot less painful, sometimes even fun! I am not blowing smoke here, if you can’t seem to figure out how to get your house in order, consider listening to this podcast and read or listen to her book Organizing for the Rest of Us. (I can’t listen to most audiobooks, but Dana’s voice and writing are so engaging!)

Finally! Someone who thinks like me!
Dana is the best! I’m one of those people who have read and listened to tons of decluttering and organizing books and podcasts over the course of many decades, but stilled struggled to find the secret sauce to conquering my problems. Dana hits all the nails on the heads! I’m convinced that God gave her the answers to solve her problems, and I’m so thankful she is sharing those with us! 😍 Things are getting under control in my house now, and all I can say is “Thank You Dana!” and “Thank You God!” 🙏🏽❤️ Getting victory over this life long struggle is so encouraging! 🤩

I wanted to love it…
But I just can’t. I was recommended this podcast due to the process itself of starting with trash and moving on, not being overwhelmed. I listened to the podcast about getting rid of things when you want to sell it, thinking it’d help me figure out how to differentiate the items or have more recommendations. Unfortunately it was a bunch of rambling on about $1.27 bead cord, sprinkled into commercials that abruptly happen, and the final 2 minutes maybe, the subject moved forward and I felt like you were getting there to a good second point… then it was over. Second one I’m trying to listen to is about the same. I find it like listening to one of my kids tell me a story that’s long and I zone out in between. Unfortunate, because I really think a lot more people could get some real help from this topic.

I stumbled upon this podcast about a week ago, wow! I feel like I’m talking to someone I know about a problem I have. Thank you so much for this resource.

Speaking to my soul
I just discovered this Podcast a week ago and have been binge-listening ever since. I have read so many organizing self-help books, listened to podcasts, and all the other things. I NEVER felt like I could relate to any of those people, and ultimately their methods all failed for me. I really thought there was something wrong with me. I love how open and honest you are about your thought processes because my brain works the EXACT SAME WAY. I really thought I was alone. You make me feel seen and understood, and I love your simple advice that actually works. (You also make me laugh quite a bit, because everything you say rings so true for me.) Thank you for being brave enough to share your experience and wisdom!

Really enjoy this
She has gotten a lot better. To be blunt I used to find her delivery annoying and had to stop listening. I recently decided to revisit her and something has changed and she is still herself but more focused and polished which makes it now a podcast I look forward to. I even bought one of her books. Great job Dana. Thanks for helping be in my ear while I clean.

Staying on top of my house inventory
This podcast is amazingly invaluable in keeping me focused and motivated in caring for our house, garage, and all our inventory, which prior to discovering Dana, was an absolute train wreck. Thank you, Dana!!!

Thanks Dana
Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Dana. I really struggle with keeping my house tidy and organized. I like how Dana keeps things simple and straightforward. Start with the easy stuff first. Throw away the trash. Donate things you don’t use or like…. Less stuff really is less clutter and less to manage and stress about. Thank you, Dana for helping me realize things don’t have to be perfect they just need to be manageable and work for my family. God Bless, Carla

Good start
This is a great podcast for getting started and finding your groove. I do enjoy listening to Dana but I do make sure to keep my phone nearby so I can fast forward through the many ads. She has sponsored announcements that are maybe 2-3 mins long on average. They’re also usually items for sale and that can be frustrating for when you’re trying to curve the income of stuff and such. It also leads to a lot of decision fatigue honestly.

Cleaning and organizing I can relate to
Dana has been so helpful, I relate to her thought process and listening to her while cleaning and decluttering has helped me. Helped my mind set and has really helped my house.

Best way to manage and clean your home
I turn this on then get to work. I have learned how to declutter my life and home and everything from Dana. I have been able to keep a clean house from what I learned from Dana. Her books changed my life. And listening to the podcast while I clean motivates me to continue with these good habits and routines.

Some good some bad
The basics are a good method to begin the process. I enjoy the realistic situations that the host provides I find it hard to listen to earlier podcasts because the host smacks a lot while she’s talking and it’s very distracting. The newer ones seem like she’s gotten speech training to pace herself better. The sudden commercials are annoying and I end up fast forwarding through them the wild crazy busy lady got on my nerves because she just didn’t want anything to be done so I don’t know why she wanted to be on the podcast.

Just try her method! It helps.
I have cycled through many decluttering and cleaning methods - Dana’s is the only one that consistently works for me. No matter what is happening (or not happening) around my home, she tells me where to start and encourages me that I can have hope for my home. Thank you Dana!

Life Changing
She speaks to my ADHD soul. Her books and podcast have made the biggest impact on my journey from overwhelmed mom of 5 to someone who is not embarrassed by the state of my home and now to a mom who feels like I might have things under control.

Love this podcast because she gets it! She is a pleasure to listen to Even though it’s same type declutter issues it’s always helpful and in my case repetitive message helps Thank you Dana ❤️

The dishes really are the entry ticket to an orderly home
I’ve listened to Dana’s 380+ podcast episodes this year and they have truly changed my root motivations in how I decide to manage my home. My husband used to stress when we had people over for dinner because 1) every dish would be dirty and not cleaned for days and 2) we would have to spend over an hour rushing around the house shoving messes into back rooms. No more! My kitchen is clean almost every day and when I make dinner, I clean while I go, making it a comparative joy for him to clean up after a party. I also do a reset tidy nearly every day so we never have days worth of clutter piled up in the common areas. Once he saw that it worked and that time spent tidying had a last impact, he does it more than me. I cook more, we entertain more, we are more spontaneous and less stressed…thank you Dana!

Your podcast and books have inspired me for years
I just listened to your interview with John Acuff. Again, your podcast has completely inspired me and given me another tool for my toolkit. I’ve been listening to you for years. I’ve read all your books. I’ve been a member of the wonderful Kindred Spirits. I have transformed my home and FINALLY discovered my clutter threshold. It took me about a year to get through the entire house. That’s because I regrouped/revamped/took breaks/lived my life in between. I also did this during two major home renovations. I’ve always just started with the dishes, trash, and 5 minute pick ups. Whenever I feel stuck, I play one of your podcasts or hop online. I also love your weekly newsletter. I learn something from you every single time. And, your kindness and genuine support is appreciated more than you’ll ever know. Thank you!

Keeping me hopeful
I would not call my self a slob, but my house is a disaster. I do the dishes and laundry. I keep us healthy. But I am definitely a "chaotic creative." I know I'm very late to the show, but I'm starting at the beginning, and I'm very hopeful that someday I will have my house "under control." This podcast is really helping to inspire me as I work my way towards a more user-friendly home.

Happy Day Dana is back August 2023!
Oh Dana how I missed you. In early 2023. I listen to all your podcasts from the first podcast you ever made all the way until the latest. I finished in May 2023. Soon after you went on your summer break. I didn’t realize how much impact you were making, but I really missed you over the summer, so glad to hear you are back. I kind of stopped doing… Take it there now, so I really need to get back into it.

REAL training for homemakers
I’m a slob, but my house doesn’t look like it. I’m not naturally tidy, but I know how to pull my home quickly into visitor-ready status after my four kids have done an art project and been playing in the living room all day. This is entirely due to Dana’s podcast. Her advice is not a bunch of good ideas, it is THE path that you MUST take to get the heck out of slob valley. Listen to her and do what she says! Seriously. Get your life back with a livable home. I’m so thankful that my children get to have a joyous childhood, my husband comes home to a comfortable space, and I have the room to enjoy my many hobbies that aren’t cleaning because of her advice. Dana rocks.

The Ripple Effect
This podcast has improved my life in ways I didn’t foresee. While I am toward the “normal” side of the spectrum, I found that I was always struggling to manage my home. I was stressed, resentful, and over it all. Once I found what my daily basic tasks were, my relationship with my home changed. Not only that, but I wasn’t rushing out the door because I couldn’t find my clean work pants or trying to jam “just one more task” in before I had to leave for the day. I love that Dana encourages us to use the basics to find what works for us! I have recommended this podcast to so many friends!

I Love her!
She has helped me so much! I’ve Loved and listened to her books, and I Highly recommend them to those who have struggled with their homes and stuff. And now that I’ve found her podcast, I can enjoy and learn from her even more. Thank you Dana! ❤️

Dana is pulling me back from my clutter abyss.
I am beyond grateful to have found Dana White. (I just wish I would’ve found her sooner - MUCH sooner.) After listening to 5-6 podcasts and listening to her “How to Manage Your Home…” book on audible? Its like the lights in the darker recesses of the parts of my brain (where the too-much-stuff info is kept) went on - for the 1st time. She's the 1st woman who actually thought like I think regarding stuff, its value, cleaning, organizing… Until Dana (& guests), I felt so alone in my overwhelm; my enough-stuff-to-fuel 17-hobbies, a career as a fixer-upper, 4 eBay stores,,6 Etsy shops, and also a vintage store (all while living in my “No! Please! Don’t come over!” 2 bedroom, 2 bath manufactured home with no garage, 2 dogs & no garage with chronic illnesses) issues. I started with the kitchen. And it keeps getting better & better. I can finally see my path to stuff-sanity. Thank you, Dana!!

Read the books first
I didn’t care for the podcast until I read the books and tried the schedule of cleaning for a few weeks. It works! Now I use the podcast as a reminder and motivation. Does she say “do the dishes” a lot? Yes. Did she say that a lot in the books? Yes. But did she have me convinced by the end of the first book? Absolutely. I am a slob, and this method works for me. Now I can have company and not be ashamed of the house.

Very good
I have read several of her books, only have one left to go and I enjoy listening to the podcast while I clean and cook. I’m a cricket which means I’m a highly detailed organized person or what Dana considers “a normal person” but I enjoy listening for the tips and the conversations with people struggling. This podcast has helped me understand friends and family better and to be able to communicate ideas of how to help them (if asked) in a kind judgment free way. The only critique I have is that I have a strong dislike for mouth sounds and she smacks her lips at least 10 times per episode. I noticed it doesn’t happen when she reads her books to you or when she is reading off something though. Anyways, very good information and I don’t mind when she is rambling, it’s like listening to a friend talk.

My mom was right!
I have always wanted a clean room, but every single time I see the mess I am so overwhelmed that I leave my bedroom. And then my mom told me about this podcast, I listened to a couple episodes on her phone and it really helped. THX!

Holy cow!
I thought I should try this podcast because I’m always in search of new organizing tips so I started with the newest episode. I am absolutely shocked that any producer would publish a 45 minute podcast episode in which the first 30 minutes were all about doing the dishes. And not anything insightful about getting dishes washed it is simply “do the dishes” over and over and over and over and over and over again for a full 30 minutes! You have got to be kidding me!

So helpful!
This podcast is so inspiring with realistic, helpful tips! To the reviewers who are giving low stars because of ads…you can just fast forward! I really appreciate all of the information she is giving us for FREE! And she needs to get paid too. The ads don’t bother me, that is her way of getting paid for doing her job. Thanks, Dana!

New listener here
New listener here…loved your books and came after reading those. The commercials on here are unbearable!!! They’re randomly inserted in the episodes and it makes it awful to listen. Not sure I’ll stick around solely for that reason. Change up how you do that and I’m guessing you’ll improve your audience rating! Great podcast otherwise!

Life changing, BUT ads are becoming unbearable
I stumbled upon this podcast about a year ago and was instantly hooked. I couldn’t believe the way it felt like Dana was inside my brain. So many of the concepts resonate with me- slob vision, procrasticlutter, project mentality etc. I finally felt understood. I went back and started with episode one and was absolutely loving the content BUT unfortunately the advertisements suddenly got out of control? I used to just skip about the first five minutes and last five minutes but it’s gotten to be even more than that. When I reached Episode 142… it was 36 minutes long and literally 15 minutes of it was ads. I know she needs & deserves to make money, but the multiple different ad interruptions that take up almost half the time of the podcast are really distracting and ruining the vibe for me. I will keep listening for now but really hope it doesn’t stay like this

Long winded
I love how practical Dana is, but I feel like the show would be improved so much if it were more concise. The rabbit trails are too much for me personally.
I quit listening
Not Enough Words
I appreciate how authentic, humble, and real Dana is. She feels like a friend to me, I listen to her daily and I appreciate her voice more than she’ll ever know. The podcast, YouTube, books - they all provide the most clear, bite size, achievable steps to gain the home you ultimately want. I have been trying to declutter for YEARS. I have joined many quick fix January challenges, I’ve read the mainstream popular books and while they helped - nothing has motivated me more than applying Dana’s methods. I’m seeing change rather than constantly feeling on a hamster wheel. I have been able to maintain a daily life routine of my choosing, prevent procrasticlutter, and adjust my mindset. Thank you Dana! As long as you choose to share your time with us, I will listen to you.

Love the content but the volume differential is bad
The substance of the content is great but the content is low volume and the commercials are LOUD. I have to turn it 100% to hear anything but then the commercial of her own commercial is so loud I run to turn it down and I have to do this multiple times per episode. I’m 17 episodes in and if it doesn’t improve, I’m gonna stop listening.

The kindness and compassion from Dana is really comforting for anyone struggling with this stuff
I enjoy this show and find it really calming. It can be overwhelming and defeating trying to tame a messy home. I listen to Dana and think "everything is going to be ok." Thanks for that.

Feedback for guests
The 5 starts are only for Dana not LOSING HER EVER LOVING MIND during the latest episode. I usually love the interviews with the patrons, but the most recent episode (367) frustrated and irritated the fire out of me. There wasn’t a single helpful thing that came out if it. This was an interview with a person that clearly is not ready and /or simply does not want to take her space back. Here’s the thing - DON’T ASK FOR HELP IF YOU DON’T WANT IT. I listened all the way to the end in the hopes for a breakthrough, and it did not come. Dana, bless you for not losing your mind on this one. It is beyond me why this woman wanted to be recorded for a podcast unless it was just to tell how positive, creative, and busy she is. And to throw on a passive-aggressive “sweetie” towards the person you’re “trying” to get help from. Ugh, just disrespectful!

Too much filler
I love her books and have read several of them but the podcast just doesn’t work. I think the problem is her “method” is actually really simple and so she doesn’t have much to talk about. I skip large portions of the episodes and get about 5-10 minutes worth listening to. I just started the podcast but can’t imagine the later episodes get better. Also, as others have mentioned she is very religious and it gets mentioned a lot which is a big turnoff for me. She also has super long ads. I think her podcast would be great if she used a script and had a tight 10-15 episode that someone could play while doing a decluttering or cleaning session.

Lifesaving for me!
Dana, the information I’m learning from you is literally saving mine and my family’s lives! I’m a widow and now disabled so I’m very limited on what I can do around the house. My oldest daughter and my granddaughter live with me but my daughter works 2 jobs and is trying to finish her degree. We have way too much stuff and it’s just chaos in every room! After listening to your simple daily and weekly goals, it feels manageable to me. I will have to take frequent breaks but for the first time in about 4 years I feel like I can get this place presentable enough to have friends over and and actually let them inside lol. Thank you for being real! You are such a blessing to me and I know to many others. Thank you for being faithful to what God called you to do! 🤟🏼🤗😊
