Measles is scary 😂
What a ridiculous episode. The fact that this is named “Scientific” anything belongs on South Park.

Well, it is quick

This version of the former 60 Second Science borders on banal. It use to give science not given on the 6 o’clock news. It used to inspire.

Excellent
Short science stories told in a creative and efficient way. Highly recommend it.

Disappointed
I have been listening to this podcast for the last few years and truly enjoyed the little snippets of information they pack into each episode. In today’s “Your Health Quickly” Episode, I was disappointed to hear the name calling targeting two people as “anti-vaxxers”. Without actually researching the folks they “called out” (to see if it is indeed accurate), to understand their views, and perhaps even learn that at least one of them is NOT actually an “anti-vaxxer”, they followed the “mainstream narrative” and labeled them. The Episode still would have been just as informative if they left their names out. The information in the episode was timely and accurate about everything else. I would have thought name calling was beneath this good Podcast. You can do better.

Good except one crew
This is a fantastic podcast with insightful science, good editing and thoughtful subjects. But, there is one crew that is unbearable: Tanya and Josh, the senior health editors are THE worst voice actors in the history of podcasts. Replacing them with an over-zealous and pedantic 4th grade theater student would be an upgrade.

Bite sized science
I am amazed at how much information gets packed into each episode. This is one podcast that I listen to as soon as it arrives in my feed!

Cool
This is a good show. My only complaint is the hosts sound sooo scripted it makes me cringe.

Fast food?
Science in 60 seconds is exactly what is wrong with Scientific American lately. If you want fast food science just turn on the Discovery channel or pick up a copy of Popular Science magazine. The beauty of a podcast is that you can go as deep into the subject matter as needed and not be constrained by the clock. The content and the people bringing the stories are doing an great job, so let them keep going.

Very informative
I like this show it is very short and to the point.

Wish it was like it used to be
I like the information and the hosts. My main dislike of this podcast is it used t be super short and concise, a nice way to stay up to date on scientific things. Now it’s every other day and 10-15 min podcasts. I May stop listening regularly for this reason. Too frequent and too long for what I’m looking for.

Cambridge Analytical scandal
In the “Thunderous Goose” episode, Flora states that humans have been in Australia for 50,000 years, but in reality, the evidence shows they have been living there for about 125,000 years and in North America for at least 23,000 years. Cancel this woebegotten purveyor of misinformation! Flora promoted a survey by Cambridge Analytica in the mid 2010’s which has been shown to be a honeytrap that manipulated voters to support the fascist GOP candidate in2016. I took part in that survey and feel Flora is a tool that has not addressed grievous transgression that compromised the integrity of the democratic process. You don’t mention that ratites are the oldest birds. Another reason to discount the information from this podcast. I suffered a lot of harm from your transgression and lost about $100,000 because of it.

Uneven
The info presented in the various segments is fine. What I dislike is the juvenile way some presenters speak, as if they thought they were addressing 6 year olds.

Witty and Informative
Flora’s wit and insights make every topic on Science Quickly informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend this podcast and have missed Flora’s voice since ELT went to podcast heaven way too soon :)

Good science, basic science, relevant science, quickly
Very informative, yet brief episodes that quickly draw you into a question, problem, ecosystem
I plan on exploring some ephemeral ponds near my home today because of the episode I just listened to!

Loving the new direction!
Really informative, creative, and interesting. I especially love the AI episodes and the miniseries inside the larger show.

Great show
This is a great way to get a bite-sized dose of cool science. I particularly enjoyed the episode on AI in music.

Went from mediocre to just awful
The new format is terrible. The writing is inaccurate and childish. The show tries to be hip by talking about topics completely outside their lane. Armchair science at its worst. Also, the injection of politics into science is completely inappropriate, especially when the politics is so amateurish and out of touch. But what finally made me delete the feed was just how racist it has become. The episode on the Thai music composer was the epitome. Instead of introducing a form of music that most people weren’t exposed to and delving into it, the host for some reason kept making racist comments and stereotypes about the current musical landscape. On and on. I really wonder how the artist “featured” felt about having the episode about them turned into a self-indulgent racist diatribe. I know I would be peeved if it happened to me.

The Real Zen Boy
Too cute, trying to hard.
I don’t like to change the format. They’re going for cuteness. Silly Hass happiness. Talking down to the listener. Too much giggling. Especially in this last episode about animal communication. I’ll keep listening. But hope it finds a balance between what it was, and what it has become.

Very informative show, audio is now great
Your Health Quickly is a very informative show, well researched, and firmly rooted in the latest scientific findings. The show producers are very responsive to listener input. Audio quality of recent episode was great.

Becoming too chatty and lightweight
Seems to be more interested in saying, “Isn’t science fun!”, than imparting science. Haven’t enjoyed the relaunch and haven’t made it through the last two episodes, something that never happened with the old show. I can just picture the producer telling the talent, “Ok, sound happy and witty and like we are having the best time of your lives.” In other words sounds forced and contrived.

Unfortunately it’s losing the science
Even though shorter, the old version of the podcast had more actual science and facts in it. The new one is mostly devoid of the details and is pretty handwavy. It seems like the new one is targeting a completely scientifically non-savvy audience. But this is Scientific American! Give your audience some credit for knowledge!

Can’t wait for more
Loving the relaunch of this pod and can’t wait to see where it goes. Great info, great hosts, and great fun!

Love the news
Surprising to learn the difference in the intent of the research vs. the spin put on it. And the degree to which we are influenced in matters relating to love & relationships. Thanks for this.

Stop what you’re doing and listen to this show
So excited for this reboot of SciAm’s podcast! The first episode with Shayla Love was fascinating. Can’t wait for more episodes!

Great break time dose of Science!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this podcast. I had heard about the set of questions on a story on NPR, but never really understood the study behind them. It’s great that someone figured out they were two sets and then SA did the podcast explaining the story behind them! another Trivia loose and tied up. Thank you SA!

Love part 1
Such an enjoyable listen! Jam packed with interesting information and quality guests. Can’t wait for more.

Could be better
I finally unsubscribed to this podcast after many years. Very poor audio engineering. Guest audio is often too soft or outright unintelligible - some of that stems from choosing to have foreign guests with a heavy accent talk. Also too much liberal bias. It's gotten better since a certain someone has left office but you still hear left wing claims being made without counterpoints offered.

love it since 2018
When I was an ordinary college student, I want to practice my English skills, someone at quora recommended this podcast, then I got a lot from this program. Now is 2022, 4 years later, although I didn’t listen to it everyday, it is still useful for me. And I’m going to learning in Canada in September, as a student whose native language is not English, I think I will love it forever.

Get a better audio engineer!
I like the short little interesting science tidbits (when they are actually short. Some of the episodes drag on!) But the audio needs better editing. Guests are always too soft, and the music is too loud. Normalize and compress your audio so we don’t have to turn the volume up and down and up and down!

A few interesting episodes, but COVID-19 updates = yeah!
Every once in a while I found an interesting episode. I like that these are short. But the most benefit I feel like in from listening to these is the two week update of Covid information! That is great & easy to share!

Keep Politics Out
Great ideas but bias.

Short and informative
The show is great for getting bite sized episodes of information

Audio quality
Reverb, somewhat tinny. An inexpensive interview/conference type microphone could correct this.

Said you wouldn’t take a side on politics...
..In the preview of the election coverage then brought on a bunch of one sided guests. Stay out of politics.
JCSMB-999
Stay out of politics!
Not only is their personal bias evident in their tone, but the to be one sided “doom and gloom” view of a virus with 99.6% survival rate, and lack of discussion of riots/protests linked to covid shows how biased they really are.

Nuggets of knowledge- love it đŸ”„
I just came across this podcast by pure chance. Most of what I listen to is related to true crime so suggestions are usually related to that. I am soooo glad that we met. I love little doses of scientific facts. I can’t wait to share with my family and friends. Thank you!

Hi
Great topics and info. This earns a 5 star rating. Please stop the politics. That drops the rating down to a 1.

Voice talent great but can’t hear in kitchen
Mark Stratton’s voice is wonderful to listen to! But in my kitchen, I can’t really hear him amidst the normal kitchen sounds. Podcasts need to consider who consumes this particular media and how. When typical listener hits play, what else are they doing? Somebody who listens to 60-second science is likely busy doing other things. Is it about the voice talent? Or is it about the audience?
Rain finally!

Really like this format, bringing new information about a diverse range of topics.

Great Show
Love this podcast. Quick hits on quirky science. Good topics, pitched at a good level, well-written (and read).

Drop the political opinions!!!
I listen to this podcast for quick science hits to stay up to date with what’s happening in the science world.....not political opinions. If the political hits keep coming I’ll unsubscribe and find another podcast for my science needs!

Not Interested In Your Political Opinion or Satire
Stick to the objectiveness that is inherent to science. No one listens to this podcast to hear about your political opinions. The “We’re Being Tested” episode was not science. It was political satire and not even very clever satire at that.
Kane KS
Hi
Please don’t speak about politics.

We’re Being Tested Review
I totally agree with the other reviews I saw related to the We’re Being Tested episode. I listen to this podcast purely for science and will not keep listening if it becomes a political podcast.
