Dr. Robert Bryan grew up in Southern Ohio, appreciating the friendly people and surrounding community. He was originally inspired to follow a career path in the field of dentistry after giving a speech in high school. Dr. Bryan enjoys the concept of working for yourself and the utilization of tools within medicine. The concept of working in science with the use of medicine is intriguing as he can perform both through oral surgery. After receiving a bachelor’s degree at Ohio University, he earned a dental degree, scholarship award, and went on to attend his surgical residency to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Bryan went straight into the private practice environment at Oral Surgery Specialists of Oklahoma in 2006. Dr. Jeremy Goodson grew up with a passion for playing the trumpet. He aspired to play in a symphony with his passion for music. He fractured his teeth as a kid, and when the local dentists and oral surgeons fixed his condition, Dr. Goodson was concerned that his oral surgery would affect his ability to play an instrument. He realized that his treatment to restore his smile allowed him and many others to play successfully for years to come. Dr. Goodson has always enjoyed doing small things with his hands and reconsidered his direction of studies to medicine during his college years. Dr. Goodson and his wife moved to Oklahoma during his surgical residency to pursue a new opportunity. He decided to join a private practice environment to work one on one with patients to provide the very best care and get to know people as if they are family. He began working at Oral Surgery Specialists of Oklahoma and loves to help our patients regain their oral health, function, and smile.

Danielle Cline took to the dental front office like a duck in water when she started in 2007. She became an expert on dental insurance and was determined to educate not only her patients, but anyone who called to ask a question. Today she not only provides consulting services for dental teams in the Austin area but she is launching her new company, Dental Mama. With Dental Mama she will take her knowledge directly to the people who are confused, frustrated, and most deeply impacted by their dental plans: Patients! She knows that virtually no one understands how their plans work when they come to the dentist, and believes that consumer-based education will positively impact experiences for patients and dental teams. Her company, Cline Consulting, focuses on team-building and treatment acceptance. She believes clear language, excellent verbal skills, and a strong knowledge of dental insurance as well as financial options help set patient expectations. A confused patient will be less willing to accept treatment and more likely to leave negative feedback. Danielle loves to help dentists understand their own vision and use that to give the entire team purpose. She believes that this is necessary to building a successful practice with patients who will rave about their experience.

Marc Novak graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2018 and is now a practicing dentist between two practices in Northern New Jersey. He was born and raised in East Windsor, CT. With his mother and father both being successful teachers, he entered the University of Connecticut in the education program before transitioning his studies to biochemical research. After completing a research and development summer internship at a pharmaceutical company the summer before his senior year, he knew that a life stuck in a laboratory was not for him, and he chose to again transition to dentistry after observing his local dentist Dr. Pete Coombs of Suffield, CT. While applying to schools his undergraduate research advisor convinced him to continue his work and stay for a Master’s degree. His research project focused on increasing the chemical stability of proteins that could be used for functional purposes. He published several peer reviewed journal articles pertaining to the increased functional stability of Glucose Oxidase, acting as the building blocks to a biocompatible glucose sensor that has the potential to send electrical Bluetooth signals through an app to register live blood-glucose readings and limit the pain and annoyance of patient’s using drops of blood from their fingers. Upon completion of Dental school, he was selected to attend the highly competitive GPR program at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ, ranked the #1 hospital in New Jersey and a top 30 hospital in the United States. He received advanced training of complex dental cases, including oral surgery, endodontics, dental implants and esthetic cases. He received a formal education on management of medically compromised patients as well as patients with special health care needs. Becoming a more well-rounded and confident practitioner afforded him to opportunity to enter private practice as an associate under the tutelage of Dr. David Paulussen of Hackettstown, NJ and Dr. Michael Gruber of Parsippany, NJ both of whom are annually recognized as two of New Jersey’s top dentists. When not splitting his time between the two offices, Dr. Novak is passionate about continuing education to become the best practitioner possible as well as staying physically active and traveling. Steven Kizy is a forward-thinking, warm-hearted leader with enough wherewithal and vision to drive his company, Midway Dental, to the national stage. At the age of 14, he started his first business in his father’s convenience store in Detroit selling cell phones. What started out as a curious 14-year old’s project for side-cash has become the basis for an entrepreneurial spirit that enables Midway to disrupt the market and provide exceptional support to dentists. His brother and sisters who practice dentistry have seen the worst in dental supply and encouraged him to bring that change to the industry. While attending Wayne State University, Steven met his wife, Bianca Kizy, an ophthalmologist. This year they welcomed the newest addition to their family, beautiful Isabelle, who is 5 months as of June. They share a genuine love for family—including their 22 nephews and nieces who all look up to them with adoration. It is Steven’s love of family that has given him the ability to craft such a tight-knit, family-like culture at his company. As such, it was natural for him to assume the CEO role at Midway in 2016. Since taking the helm, Steven has opened six new markets and has built a unique culture with his team that is new to the dental environment. His horizontal management system enables key team members to effect micro-to-macro level agendas at Midway with an unmatched degree of adaptivity. Midway has grown north of 100% in the trailing twelve months, and he has personally received awards for excellence and performance with Inc. 5000, 30 in their Thirties, and NDC member of the year, to name a few.

Cris started in dentistry at 18 working as a receptionist but she knew in the 6th grade that she wanted to be a dental hygienist. She began her career as a dental hygienist in 1992 and practiced for the first 19 years in Flint Mi. She took a leap of faith and moved her family to Hampstead NC to live by the sea, and it fit. Cris has a love for dentistry and after moving to NC she realized there were a lot of things that were turning people sour toward dentistry. She teamed up with her current boss and has helped him turn his 3 dental practices around with a goal to acquire 7 more. She is passionate about turning offices around and helping people love coming to work again. She strives on making a difference for others in their professional and personal lives with speaking, writing and mentoring.
Born in Maryland, Chris became fascinated by dentistry at an early age when he lost #8 in a family touch football game. After graduating from dental school, purchasing his own practice, and subsequently selling that practice and most of his belongings, Chris followed a calling to serve as a dental missionary in Cameroon, Africa for 5 years. It was on this mission where Chris learned the true value of providing legendary patient care, and the necessity to provide that care very well, and very fast. Chris often had patients lined up around the block for treatment, and if he could not serve them that day, they would have to walk miles back home, and return again the next day in hopes of being served. This approach of very well, very fast patient centered dental practice has proven to be a great differentiator for the company. Years after returning from Africa, Chris founded Neibauer Dental Care. Growing from 1 to 26 scratch practices from 2005 to 2011. The offices were located in Virginia and Maryland – and grew exponentially during the recession of 2007. In 2011 Chris sold these practices and eventually moved to live in Park City, UT where the winters are full of powder skiing and the summers are humidity free. Now he is on a mission in Utah to grow a dental corporation focused on delivering legendary patient care. The new corporation is Abundant Dental Care, and is 50 employees strong & growing.

Dr. Zachary Allmand graduated from Indiana University Dental School in 2005. Post-graduation, he served our country in the United States Air Force for 5 years, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After fulfilling his service to our country, he purchased a dental practice, where he quickly learned that there was much more to running a successful practice than merely being a good clinician. His business focus turned to overhead reduction in an attempt to control costs without sacrificing clinical excellence. Dr. Allmand quickly learned that there were many aspects of the business where doctors were being taken advantage of, one of the most evident being Credit Card Processing. As he researched the true cost of merchant services, he realized that it could be done better with more transparency, security, and fair treatment for all offices no matter their volume. Dr. Allmand formed Apex Payment Solutions as a means to educate and assist his colleagues, helping them to control their costs and giving them the reassurance that they were getting a fair pricing while bringing secure technology that reduces the risk of credit card processing for health care offices. His goal is to remove these stresses so health care professionals can return their focus to what is truly important; caring for their patients.

Dr. David Ahearn’s goal early on was simply to figure out a way to get more great dentistry done – without beating up his body or getting stressed out while doing it. To solve this, he studied the world’s most productive manufacturers. Applying those findings to dentistry, he was able to create new systems to improve every aspect of dental productivity. It wasn’t long before many of his colleagues began asking for help to solve their own design and productivity problems. This lead to equipment and training advances that allowed him to take his practice to the next level – and to help dentists across the country do the same. This work is further enhanced by day-to-day testing of new designs, technology and systems at Dr. Ahearn’s two thriving New England practices – which he continues to own and operate today. Dr. Ahearn has held faculty positions at both the University of Michigan and NYU, and was a founding member of the ADA's Ergonomics Subcommittee. He is a frequent lecturer and contributor to numerous dental publications, including multiple chapters in the ADA’s current Practical Guide to Dental Office Design.

Dr. Brandon Ryff grew up in Tempe Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with dual degrees in Physiology from the College of Medicine, and Molecular & Cellular Biology from the College of Science. Upon graduation, Dr. Ryff then attended the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry. After Dental School, Dr. Ryff became an associate in a small group of privately owned dental practices in Arizona. Subsequently, this group was approached and acquired by a national DSO backed by private equity investors. This transition was a complex process that Dr. Ryff found very interesting. Watching his father-in-law successfully serve as the President & CEO of a multibillion-dollar international corporation only further fueled Dr. Ryff’s interest in business and executive leadership. Accordingly, Dr. Ryff then completed a 2-year business program, earning a Professional Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management from Harvard University Extension School. Alongside completing his business program and practicing dentistry, Dr. Ryff was also appointed Vice President of Business Development within the private equity DSO group that had acquired the practice. Dr. Ryff was involved in multiple acquisitions made by the DSO from 2013-2015, during which time the company ranked #14 for the Inc 500’s fastest growing companies in America. A drastic shift in executive leadership and corporate strategy at the DSO prompted a strategic transition for Dr. Ryff himself. In August 2016, Dr. Ryff left the corporate practice environment and acquired a private practice in Paradise Valley Arizona. During the first year, Dr. Ryff applied knowledge he had gained from his tenure in business development and business school to create a unique team environment. After hearing through social media of a themed ‘team-unity lunch’, held in good fun to help mend wounds of the 2016 post-election divide, the Washington Post featured an article about the unique atmosphere and team at Dr. Ryff’s practice. Among many factors, the leadership and management lessons Dr. Ryff acquired through his work and educational experiences contributed to a 33% growth in his new practice during the first year. Behind the scenes, Dr. Ryff negotiated improved terms with suppliers, vendors and labs with whom he had previously established positive relationships. On the front line, Dr. Ryff focused on leadership and worked to build a culture of positivity and appreciation. With the simple mission of providing clinical excellence and uncompromising service, Dr. Ryff rallied an exceptional team of focused, motivated, and accomplished professionals to take the practice to the next level. To reward their hard work and dedication, Dr. Ryff also implemented a unique bonus program, which resulted in pay increases of 24%, on average, for each employee. The combined result of applied strategic management principles, his consistent focus on positive leadership, and implementing a generous employee bonus program was a 75% increase in profit dollars for his first year as owner, 2017. The journey for Dr. Ryff and his team was not without some turbulence however. Months after becoming the new owner, Dr. Ryff learned that his landlord had suddenly passed away, leaving the entire property to charity. A big commercial real estate developer made intentions made clear that the plan was to demolish and redevelop the property. Accordingly, Dr. Ryff found a new location to continue the 60-year legacy of the practice. With the unwavering support of his loyal team and their active participation in all levels of the process, Dr. Ryff and team built a brand new state-of-the-art facility, which will serve to take the practice well into the next generation.
