Follow Jason on Locals! _____ Our culture has been conditioned to despise greatness. Left-wing thought places egalitarianism as its highest ideal, which means left-wing people tend to be suspicious of hierarchies. Right-wing thought places excellence as its highest ideal, which means right-wing people tend to embrace hierarchies. If you track the cultural evolution of America ever since its inception, you will notice a steady leftward march. However, over the past few decades, that march has turned into an outright sprint. So the consequence is that our culture is now completely dominated by calls for all sorts of egalitarian solutions to "problematic" hierarchies. This is why we're constantly hearing so much hate for the 1%. But there's a reason the 1% is the 1%. And it's because they ARE better than the 99%, by definition! This doesn't necessarily mean they're better humans, or more worthy souls, or more deserving of life. Rather, it means they are willing to do the things that are necessary to make themselves better. And here at WP&I, we believe that excellence should be admired and aspired to. We aspire to be better. So we champion the 1%. And you should too.

The federal government is poised to grant the Fed new powers that will change the game forever. Gold is trading at an all-time high, and Bitcoin is surging again as many people are seeking to protect their wealth in an uncertain economic time. The fact that both assets are climbing at the same time is evidence that people are pessimistic about the future. For years now, the Fed has kept interest rates artificially low, even near zero. And since the start of the lockdowns, they've printed $14 trillion. Typically, we would expect such radical stimulus to create a lot of inflation. However, the exact opposite has happened. All of that extra money has gotten "stuck" among the financial elite, never actually making it into the hands of the consumers who drive the spending that creates inflation. This is part of the reason that the federal government made the $1200 direct stimulus payments and the $600/week unemployment insurance payments. But trying to process direct payments through Congress is slow and clunky. So now the Fed is talking about bypassing the politicians and depositing money directly into people's bank accounts.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ Most people haven't realized it yet, but nonpartisan medical science is a thing of the past. The pharmaceutical industry, the corporate press, and major tech companies have been working together to suppress medical research into potential treatments for COVID-19. After a group of medical professionals held a press conference this week, where they detailed their success using a certain drug to treat the illness, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Squarespace struck out at them. They deleted websites, censored videos, and suspended accounts. Now they're even publishing articles lecturing us for daring to DO OUR OWN RESEARCH. Meanwhile, the CDC is fast-tracking a vaccine in partnership with the Pentagon. Will they try to make it mandatory? We're losing the spirit of free and open inquiry that thrived in America for generations. It's being replaced with authoritarian demands that you shut up, do what you're told, take your medicine, and don't ask questions. I guess we'll have to take the medicine to find out what's in the medicine.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ America is a land of consumers. Our culture is focused on consumption, whether it be shoes or cars or Netflix or football or political programming. All of this consumption has made us soft. If you're a net consumer -- someone who consumes more than you produce -- you're ultimately controlled by whomever is doing the producing. In fact, you can see this in the debate over the next COVID stimulus package. Because most people are helpless consumers, politicians are just focused on ways they can fabricate money to put in people's pockets. If they can buy you off for just a little longer, they can enrich themselves just a little more. If you want to take control of your life, it starts with first recognizing what's happening, and then choosing to become a net producer.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ Our society is breaking down for want of strong men. You may have heard this quote: "Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times." This cycle repeats itself over and over again throughout history. And we’re now smack dab in the middle of the "hard times." We’ve had it pretty good for a few decades. And it’s made us soft. So now we’re paying the price of our decadence. For generations now, there’s been a concerted effort to suppress the development and expression of healthy masculinity. It’s occurred in large part because people are afraid of violence, and they correlate strong men with violence. However, as we’re seeing today, it is the absence of strong men that violence arises. The active presence of strong men is a deterrent to violence. Until our men are ready to step up and take back their responsibility, we’ll continue to experience more and worse violence.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ Here's a painful truth: the overwhelming majority of people are too stupid and incompetent to govern themselves. As HL Mencken said, "Most people in this world want security, not liberty." They don't want to accept responsibility for their own lives. They want a leader to follow or an expert to trust. So at the first sign of trouble, they're quick to surrender control over their own lives. And thus we wind up with the Patriot Act and COVID lockdowns. Because, as HL Mencken also said, "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and they deserve to get it good and hard." Smart people have recognized this dynamic, and they've realized that real power lies in doing whatever the crowd isn't. Therefore, the world is run by people who know how to influence and persuade. Whether in politics or business or media (which is the business of politics, or the politics of business, depending on how you look at it), those who go against--and are smart about it--are the ones who ultimately control their own destinies. This is the true 1%. And the economy of the near future will be shaped by them. But first, we're gonna go through some rough times.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ The other day, Kanye West stirred up all sorts of headlines. He's done that a lot lately. On this particular occasion, he said, "Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves. She just had them go work for other white people." Understandably, most people stopped listening after the first sentence. But he was actually making a profound point, identifying a phenomenon that has persisted to this day. Most freed slaves weren't really free, because they just traded one form of slavery for another. Instead of being held captive by physical force, they were held captive by economic necessity. They didn't have economic power. They just traded chattel slavery for wage slavery. And wage slavery persists to this day. The vast majority of people don't control their own destiny. They've traded it for a salary. Thus they're effectively a slave to their employers, to their lenders, and to whatever economic turmoil befalls the nation. And of course that economic turmoil is only getting worse. In the end, those who survive and thrive through the next recession will be those with the mentality of the 1%.

Follow Jason on Locals! _____ That's it. We've done it. We found the most "2020 American politics" thing you can find. Nothing is more emblematic of today's politics than the current debate between President Trump and Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi says that we need more stimulus money because the economy will suffer otherwise. She says anything less than $3 trillion means Trump hates poor people. Trump agrees that we need more stimulus money! However, he says $3 trillion is too much. $1 trillion is more like it. And thus we see how the cake is made. Democrats say, "Let's do a whole bunch of Thing!" Republicans say, "Are you insane?! That's ridiculous. We don't need to do a whole bunch of Thing, we just need to do a little bit of Thing." Meanwhile, all the money they're supposedly giving to poor people is just winding up in the pockets of rich people. It's almost like the game is working exactly as it's supposed to...

_____ Over the past several years, a specific phrase keeps popping up. You see it whenever the corporate press talks about any sort of economic issue. They always point out that "[insert issue] disproportionately affects the poor." Most recently, it's been the virus. You might see it phrased this way: "Poor and underprivileged are hit hardest by the effects of the coronavirus." But just a few weeks ago, it was police brutality. And before that, it was inflation, or voter registration, or job loss, or any other bad thing in the world. Now here's the thing. They're right. Bad things DO hurt poor people more. That shouldn't even be a surprise. Because if you're poor, by definition, it means you don't have the same means to protect yourself from bad things. But the problem here is, they aren't stopping at identifying a problem. They're insinuating--or outright stating--that the reason these people are poor is because of rich people. So the people who have figured out a way to protect themselves from bad things are the ones responsible for bad things happening to other people. This mindset is absolute poison. But it's ruling our world today. So you must first recognize that it's a lie. If you're poor, it's not because of someone else. It's your fault. Recognizing and identifying the problem is the first step to fixing it. Being broke is temporary. Poverty is a mindset. But even further, you need to recognize why the media is promoting this mindset, so that you can protect yourself from the ultimate consequences of it. _____ If you've listened to this show for any length of time, you've heard the mantra: "Don't doubt me!" Yet somehow, some people just don't get it. A couple years ago, there was a huge hullabaloo when we rebranded this show. It was like the world was coming to an end. The hue and cry was ridiculous. "Jason doesn't care about liberty any more! Jason is abandoning his principles! If you don't spend all your time talking about politics, you're a sell-out!" However, as you'll see today, it's an absurd insinuation. We never abandoned the message of liberty. We just decided to start promoting it in a way that actually makes a difference. Over the past couple weeks, the Libertarian Party has doubled down on incompetence and self-immolation. I'd say that we hate to say I told you so, but we don't hate it at all. We love it. Meanwhile, the message of this show has been consistent for years. And today we're gonna prove it. Long-time listeners of the show will definitely recognize the voices you'll hear today. You'll recognize the stories too. But you may be surprised to hear the exact same themes that we still discuss every day, even after "abandoning the principles of liberty." Clip 1 - 11/2/15: "It's Not About Shame" Clip 2 - 6/20/17: "The World Economy is Changing. Here's How…" Clip 3 - 9/14/17: "Taxes, Spending, and Toxic Masculinity"

_____ This is a spicy show. And it's definitely gonna make more than a few people mad. But it's a message that everyone needs to hear. It's en vogue in America today for black leaders to preach a message of hopelessness and dependence. They say that a history of slavery and Jim Crow has made it impossible for black Americans to succeed today. Therefore, they say, the only solution is to "share the wealth." Which is, of course, code for more welfare programs. The problem is, those welfare programs create the impediments in the first place. By making entire generations dependent upon the state, politicians and other "leaders" have deepened wealth inequalities in America. In the sense that Jim Crow was an evolution of slavery, the welfare state is an evolution of Jim Crow. Here's the thing. Money doesn't care what color you are. It doesn't care who your parents are. It doesn't care what neighborhood you grew up in or what society says you can or can't do. The principles for acquiring wealth are the same for everyone. Therefore, everyone contains within themselves the ability to overcome their circumstances and build generational wealth. But it starts with freeing your mind from the slavery of low expectations.

Right now, the global economy is in the middle of a massive transition. Technological innovation is exploding, and all of our institutions have struggled to keep up with it. The institutions have tried to keep control of society and the systems that connect all of us. But the nature of innovation is that you can't control it. So then all of the turmoil we're seeing today should make sense. It's a natural consequence of people trying to save the old economy. But now it's time for us to embrace the new economy. The future is going to look very different. However, we're already seeing some clues. And, ironically, we must study the past to understand what the future holds. Your future prosperity will depend upon you seeing what's happening and understanding exactly how to proceed. Because the future prosperity of the country hinges on just how many of us take advantage of the opportunities in front of us. True change doesn't start in Washington. So whomever is elected in November won't dictate the success of your future. That's up to you. Today, we'll discuss what the past economy tells us about the future.

What a weekend! The 24-hour news cycle never sleeps, and 4th of July weekend was no exception. It was a full moon and a partial lunar eclipse, so maybe that explains why everyone is losing their minds. At this point, we should really be willing to consider just about anything! Terry Crews is getting canceled for being a decent human being. Apparently he's a white supremacist because he doesn't want to divide people along racial lines. Meanwhile, a black nationalist militia calling themselves the Not F***ing Around Coalition issued a challenge to white nationalists in Georgia: either come out and fight us, or join us in demonstrating against the government. Speaking of rebelling against the government... The residents of southern California delivered a gigantic middle finger to the state and local governments. Fireworks were outlawed for 4th of July. But everyone responded by spending all of Saturday evening lighting them off all across the city. The aerial shots were amazing. Oh, and Kanye West announced he's running for president. But the focus of our show today is a couple of downright silly articles. Zero Hedge published an article from Morgan Stanley saying that mass unemployment is actually good because stock market go up! And Vox pushed out some characteristic drivel about how evil Amazon is because they… employ too many people? It's a full show today, folks! As always, listen and then please share the show. I know that you know someone who needs to hear this message.

In fact, if you decide to go to church to celebrate the land of the free this weekend, keep in mind that singing in church is now verboten. But that's not even the most insane news of the week. (Aren't ALL Simpsons characters non-white?) And other white actors are apologizing for voicing non-white characters. If this all sounds super racist to you, you aren't alone. What started as protests against police brutality has morphed into something completely insane. And it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. However, we did see a new development last night. Another mob of "peaceful protestors" broke into a private gated community in St Louis. They didn't expect to run into two wealthy armed lawyers (married lawyers, at that!), but that's exactly who confronted them. Mark and Patricia McCloskey, owners of the first home along the mob's path into the community, stood barefoot on their porch armed with a rifle and a pistol, and demanded that the protestors continue on their way. It's an image that will likely end up as one of the most iconic shots of 2020. If only all of this foolishness was the extent of the news. Unfortunately, no one is talking about the financial crisis rapidly bearing down on us.

First they were horrified that Americans dared go to the beach when states started ending lockdowns. We're in a pandemic! How could anyone POSSIBLY think that it's a good idea to spend time getting fresh air and sunshine?! People dared to question their moral superiors in the media. They decided to protest the lockdowns, and the press treated them like dangerous criminals. Then a white police officer murdered George Floyd. And suddenly mass protests in the streets were a moral imperative of the highest order. In fact, even so-called "public health experts" fell all over themselves to tell us--from their ivory towers--that white supremacy is SO DANGEROUS even the worst pandemic in recent history shouldn't keep us inside. Now, suddenly, COVID is on the rise again! However, don't worry. It's not because of the tens of thousands of people rioting in the streets. Per the so-called experts, there's "no evidence" the Black Lives Matter protests caused the spike in COVID cases. Rather, it's because of Trump rallies (which we're also required to mock for their low attendance). Do you get it yet? Every day, the corporate press is feeding you a crock of propagandistic bovine manure. If you don't see it already, you're probably a hopeless case. Unfortunately, all of these double standards will actually cause real harm to people. Nobody knows who or what to trust. And now we're staring at a threat that completely dwarfs the COVID pandemic.

Join my private FB group _____ We used to hear the term "income inequality" all the time. Now we haven't heard it in a while. That's because the corporate press has been too busy running cover for literal Marxist riot mobs. But there's another good reason why they haven't talked about it. First of all, you have to understand that income inequality is totally unavoidable. Different people have different abilities, personalities, and desires. So they ultimately generate different incomes. However, nothing makes them more unnaturally unequal than when the Fed prints trillions of dollars. Yet ever since the COVID shutdowns, that's exactly what the Fed has been doing. And now, both the president and various members of Congress are talking about the next "stimulus package." Plus, the LA City Council just passed a $100 MILLION rent relief program. Whenever politicians create "relief" and "stimulus" programs, they always talk about how they're just looking out for the little guy. They act like everyone is just one check away from solving all their problems. Unfortunately, being broke and being poor are two different things. If you give money to broke people, they might use it to change their own lives. But if you just write a check to a poorperson, you've likely enslaved them for life. It's the old "give a man a fish vs teach him to fish" issue. Right now, way too many Americans are poor. And each time that a government program just hands them some money, those people enslave themselves just a little bit more. It's this thing called "moral hazard." And today we'll explain it in such simple terms that even an idiot could understand it!

It's not every day that we get to see certain libertarian principles tried out in the real world. One side says "libertarianism would never work!" while the other side claims, "real libertarianism has never been tried!" Now, we'll grant that most libertarians wouldn't choose to handle things the way the people in the CHAZ/CHOP have thus far. Let's just say that the people there are far from fans of Murray Rothbard. But we can still learn a lot from what's happening in Capitol Hill in Seattle. First of all, any attempt at overthrowing the existing system won't be peaceful. There will be no market-based utopia coming soon to a city near you! No matter what your intentions, any location that advertises itself as a no-cops zone will always attract people who love violence and chaos. But the other thing we can learn is that even supposedly revolutionary movements like Antifa still represent the interests of people who are already wealthy and powerful. Only wealthy powerful people can start and fund any movement that effects lasting change. So if you want to change the world, it's gonna start with changing your own life. _____ One of the best tools to have in your arsenal is the ability to communicate effectively. Join my private FB group _____ Things are getting out of hand. The major tech companies (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Amazon, etc) have acted more and more like gatekeepers lately. But yesterday, Google took things to another level. NBC News--under pressure from an activist organization associated with the UK Labour Party--reported that Google had banned the so-called "far-right websites" Zero Hedge and the Federalist from its advertising platform. But that wasn't totally true. What really happened is Google warned both sites last week that they could be banned if they didn't begin to curate "racist commenters" on their platform. When Zero Hedge failed to take action promptly enough, it was banned. But the Federalist hasn't been banned yet. Fake news strikes again! However, there's a bigger story here. Google has now established a new standard of corporate censorship. They are now holding companies directly financially accountable for content posted on their websites by commenters. Which is quite ironic given that Google owns YouTube, and YouTube comments are a uniquely infamous cesspool. The major tech companies listed above disrupted the old gatekeepers. They stormed onto the scene nearly overnight, and they've now absorbed more power than just about any company in history. And they're showing that they will use that power. You need to know what's happening. And you need to know how to handle it to ensure you aren't caught in the crossfire. That's why you need to listen to this show.

We're back! Thanks for sticking with us as we took a week off. Back to the grind again! In Seattle, a bunch of ANTIFA communists associated with Black Lives Matter have laid claim to several city blocks. They're calling it the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ. They consider themselves an independent nation that has seceded from the US. And the mayor of Seattle is in full support of them. We'll see how long it lasts. Meanwhile, the "Defund the Police" debate is in full steam across America. On one hand, many advocates claim they don't actually want to defund the police. They just want to reform the police. They want to divert some police funding away into other community ventures, and "defund" is just a good buzzword for the sake of marketing. But then, on the other hand, the New York Times ran a piece entitled, "Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police." It doesn't matter, though. Whether progressives want to abolish the police or just reform them, they've given the rest of us a golden opportunity to create some genuine positive change.

Join my private FB group ___ Drew Brees and Mark Wahlberg learned a hard lesson this week. Both men made the mistake of thinking social justice has anything to do with advocating for positive change in the world. An interviewer asked Drew Brees about his thoughts on the NFL, the national anthem, and the Black Lives Matter protests. His response predictably got him canceled. In fact, his own teammates even joined in on the melee, telling him to sit down and shut up. But that wasn't his mistake (even if his answer was obvious outrage fodder). His mistake was apologizing. The mob also rained down hell on Mark Wahlberg's name after he made the least offensive tweet you'll ever see. He thought he was spreading a message of love and unity, and he probably figured he'd get some bonus points from the woke mob. However, he failed to realize that the mob doesn't actually care about messages of love and unity. They only want submission, and they'll destroy anyone in the way. Since Marky Mark committed "hate crimes" as a teenager, they canceled him as well. So here's what you need to realize: this "social justice" movement isn't what it appears. On the surface, it looks like a good thing; we need people who are willing to speak out against injustice and stand up for victimized people. However, the people orchestrating the social justice movement are using it as a cover for a blatant power grab. And they're fooling well-meaning people into fueling their movement. We're watching history repeat itself. The same impulses that motivated the medieval Crusades and past witch hunts are running through a new secular religion. And you need to know how to handle it to make sure it doesn't catch you with your pants down.

Join my private FB group ___ After days of chaotic riots, we're finally starting to hear some actual policy proposals. One three-word phrase is picking up steam: defund the police. Now, this is a great chance for liberty-minded people to contribute something positive to the conversation. But first of all, let's be clear. Most of the people saying "defund the police" have no idea what that actually means. They're just saying something that sounds edgy. They're like parrots, repeating what they've been trained to say. However, that can work in our favor. Because "defund the police" sounds a lot like "privatize the police." Take away their public funds and force them to earn their own money. Conservatives, libertarians, and other reasonable, well-meaning people often make the same mistake: they make the perfect the enemy of the good. They spend too much time correcting people who are wrong--which has no persuasive value--and they don't spend nearly enough time affirming what people saying. Because it's a fact that the vast majority of us all want the same things. We want safe, peaceful streets. We want people to be healthy, wealthy, and comfortable. And we want bad cops to be treated like bad cops. So we must start from a position of affirmation and agreement. Once someone knows that we both want the same thing, they'll start to drop their guard. And that's when we can work together to create positive change in the world, rather than just voting for it.

These days, it seems like everybody fancies themselves valiant freedom fighters. They're filling our city streets with protests. They think they're "fighting the power" and "sticking it to the man." But the reality is, they're just revealing their own powerlessness. Freedom isn't something you fight for. It's not something you demand, or beg for, or even die for. Freedom is something you take. It's something you use. And it's always available to you. Lots of people will tell you that you don't have freedom because of some government program, or because of institutionalized racism, or because of welfare cliffs, or because of socialism. But they're wrong. If you don't have freedom, it's because you've chosen not to have freedom. You've enslaved your mind to narratives and systems and ideologies and interests whose lifeblood is your attention. They've persuaded you that your freedom depends upon someone else giving it to you. And you've chosen to believe them. But the funny thing about beliefs is, you can change them whenever you want. In fact, when you change your beliefs, you change your whole world. Opportunities manifest themselves to you. Where before there were closed doors, poverty, and oppression, now there are open doors, wealth, and freedom. You'll realize they were always around you; you just weren't looking for them. If this sounds too woo-woo or too good to be true, it's because you just haven't yet understood the formula for freedom in the modern world. Don't worry: it won't cost you anything but your life. Because freedom's only price is the old toxic beliefs you leave behind when you choose to claim it. When you choose not to identify with your old perspective any longer, all of the old beliefs that made up your identity will fall away from you, and you will experience life as a new person. A free person.

Join my private FB group American cities are on fire. Looters and rioters are burning churches and destroying businesses, big and small. Last night, they even tried to break through the Secret Service and into the White House. President Trump tweeted that the US will be designating ANTIFA as a terrorist organization. Then he escaped into a bunker for the night. The corporate press will tell you that white supremacists have co-opted otherwise innocent protests of police brutality. Some people will tell you this is a deep state plot. Others will say it's more Russian interference. Still others contend that China wants revenge for Trump pulling out of the WHO and lambasting their treatment of Hong Kong. Who knows which story is true? Perhaps all of them are. The one thing they all have in common, though, is that they're all about one thing: power. We're witnessing the collapse of the American empire. When empires collapse, they splinter. We know this from studying history. Power struggles crop up everywhere as everyone jockeys for their cut of the spoils. Lots of people will preach doom and gloom to you. Fear reigns supreme. There's no doubt that we live in interesting times. But there's no reason for fear; fearful people are easily controlled. Those who seek will find. And those who put aside the distractions and focus on controlling their own lives will find the opportunities they seek. The opportunities are abundant. You just have to start looking for them. All will be well.

Join my private FB group The people who change the world are the people who know how to manipulate emotions. That's not a value statement. It's a statement of fact. All humans make decisions emotionally, then justify them rationally. If you want to change WHAT people think, you must first understand HOW they think. Take the Minnesota riots, for example. That type of mass movement never starts from the ground up, because most people are followers. They're operating according to their conditioning. Someone told them that they're oppressed, and then convinced them that the best way to handle it is by burning down their neighborhood. It's an irrational, emotional response to a perceived problem. The problem may or may not be real. In either case, their response is a product of emotional programming. So the takeaway here is twofold. First, who is programming your emotions?  And second, are you communicating effectively to your target audience? It doesn't matter if it's family, friends, customers, voters, or readers. And the same principles apply whether you're trying to convince your wife to go to your favorite restaurant for dinner, or seeking to persuade your local city council on the merits of a specific policy, or focused on bringing a new product to market. If you're communicating, you're selling. The most powerful people in the world know how to sell. It's time for everyone else to catch up.

Join my private FB group Remember 2016? At this point, it might as well be 1916. So much has happened since then. The world we live in now is different in so many ways. But apparently it's not too different. 2016 was the year where racial tension in modern America seemed to hit an all-time high. Black Lives Matter dominated every headline, and Colin Kaepernick was in the middle of nuking his NFL career. Every day brought a new case of police brutality, another officer-involved shooting, or more race riots tearing apart American cities. Every day, day after day, we were hammered with relentless, breathless coverage of a brewing race war. You would have been forgiven for thinking we were on the verge of an actual outright war. We probably were. Then those stories disappeared overnight. Suddenly nobody cared about Black Lives Matter anymore. The police brutality didn't stop. The shootings continued. But nobody talked about them. We all talked about Russian election interference for four years. Until now. Now we've suddenly been swamped with stories about race-based violence once again. In 2020. What do 2016 and 2020 have in common? I'll let you think about that; it shouldn't take you long. Friend of the show Michael Malice often points out that there's a difference between a bias and an agenda. Lots of people talk about the bias of the corporate press, but they clearly have an agenda. You can see it just as clearly--perhaps more clearly--in the stories they DON'T cover. Google Duncan Lemp. The corporate press is fighting a war for your attention. Your attention is power. Your attention is money. Who are you going to spend it on?

Join my private FB group Remember how the corporate press spent years breathlessly freaking out about Trump and Russia? It was the only story for month after month after month. All we heard was "quid pro quo." Then Robert Mueller released his report and it all sputtered out into nothing. Now Joe Biden is embroiled in his own quid pro quo scandal. And the corporate press don't want to touch it. They've abandoned any pretense of objectivity, because people care more about partisanship than factual news. Tune in today and we'll give you the details. Also, as a reminder, we're taking a long weekend for Memorial Day. So our next show will be next Wednesday. Enjoy the break and make the most of every day. We sure will be. ;)

Join my private FB group A top WHO official says the second wave of the "pandemic" will be worse than the first. As if they can actually know that! Maybe it will be. Who knows. The problem is, that type of warning is being used to pressure governments into continuing these disastrous lockdown policies. Why? Because lockdowns are disastrous to the local economy, and they make people even more dependent on organizations like… the WHO. How convenient! Meanwhile, economists are now warning of an impending "tidal wave" of delinquent mortgages, surpassing even the Great Recession. That's hardly news. In fact, we've known for a long time that most Americans don't have $1000 to get them through an unexpected emergency. And record millions have lost their jobs due to lockdown over the past several weeks. So of course we will be seeing record numbers of late mortgage payments. All of this so-called "news" is really just fear porn. Scared people are much easier to control. Don't let yourself be led around by the nose. Lean into your fears. You can't be a healthy person if you aren't exposing yourself to risk. There's a whole world of opportunity out there. Don't let someone else's fear stand in the way of your future.

Join my private FB group If you haven't heard of Dave Rubin, you might be living under a rock. Dave is a good friend of the show, so it's been awesome watching his career take off over the past few years. We invited him on the show today because he just released his new book. In Don't Burn This Book: Thinking for Yourself in the Age of Unreason, Dave tells the story of his political evolution from progressive to classical liberal. In fact, his evolution is continuing even today. On this show, he introduces a new term he's trying on for size. We talked about a bunch of stuff, including how he wound up touring with Jordan Peterson, the crazy autoimmune condition that nearly forced him to shut down The Rubin Report, and how to navigate the pitfalls of daring to think and say unapproved things. And of course you can't have any conversation today without discussing the coronavirus. Dave also lives in Los Angeles. And he's getting fed up with the government here. It was bad enough when they were closing beaches and bulldozing sand into skate parks. But now the major of LA is issuing orders commanding everyone to wear masks whenever they're outside. That ain't gonna happen. The response to the so-called pandemic has become a true inflection point. Democratic politicians at all levels have doubled and tripled down on authoritarianism. And most Republicans recognize the political will behind opening things back up. I don't remember the last time it was as fashionable as it is now to publicly champion the idea of liberty and the danger of authoritarian leaders. The world is changing. And it's changing fast. As the show intro says, we live in the greatest period in human history. I'm glad we have people like Dave who are spreading the message of liberty and encouraging people to take control of their own lives. After you listen to this episode, make sure you pick up your own copy of Don't Burn This Book. Just click this link to buy. Also, go follow Dave. You can find him on Twitter at @RubinReport and on YouTube at The Rubin Report. And make sure to visit RubinReport.com so you can check out his new community at Locals, a social media network he created as a "subscription-based community solution that gives power to creators, not platforms."

Click here to download the free training mentioned in today's show. To start off today's show, we're gonna answer another listener question. This one is about time management. It's a good question because the vast majority of people wander their way through life. They have no purpose, and they don't have clear goals, so they have to drag themselves out of bed. And that means they're starting each day reacting to the world. But we're winners. Winners don't react to the world. Winners impose their will upon the world. And that starts with owning your morning. So we'll run through some tips for starting your morning on the right foot. The bulk of our conversation today, however, is focused on the collapse of the lockdown narrative. Stop me if you've heard this before: a major newspaper published a clickbait headline. The internet freaked out. And an hour later they published a "clarification" that wasn't NEARLY as juicy of a headline. On Tuesday, the LA Times ran this headline: L.A. County 'with all certainty' will keep stay-at-home orders in place through July. They were quoting LA County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer, while ignoring that she clarified that the lockdown would be relaxed in stages. The clarification was too late. The damage was done. This entire pandemic hoax has pulled back the curtain. The media and political elite have revealed just how corrupt and incompetent they are. And it's destroying people's lives. Join my private FB group! At the end of Friday's episode, one of our listeners sent us a Superchat on YouTube. We didn't have time to answer it then, so that's the first thing on the docket today. It was a good question. He hates his current job and wants to work for himself as a creative. But he doesn't know where to start, and he's struggling with his mindset. I'm sure that many of you can certainly relate. Wealthy, successful people run the world. The media and politicians (I repeat myself) will tell you that it's someone else's fault if you don't have the wealth or success that you want. And that's just nonsense. Now, to be clear: that doesn't mean there aren't bad actors who hurt other people. In fact, our entire financial system is set up to benefit those who already have money. You'll see no greater evidence of this than the fact that the stock market continues to climb as we set new record highs in unemployment. We have an article in the stack today that was posted by Zero Hedge. A guy named Lance Roberts wrote it originally. He points out that all three Quantitative Easing programs of the last 12 years--more than $33 TRILLION in total stimulus--have resulted in just 5.48% of real economic growth. Why is that? In his words: "Low, to zero, interest rates have incentivized non-productive debt, and exacerbated the wealth gap. The massive increases in debt has actually harmed growth by diverting consumptive spending to debt service." If that doesn't make total sense to you, don't worry. That's what today's show is for. We'll explain in detail. Here's the point, in a nutshell. Every human system is skewed to the benefit of the wealthy and powerful. When you're rich, life is easier. Once you have money, it's easier to make more money. But here's the good news: it's never been easier to make money. We live in the greatest time in human history. If you don't currently have the life you want, it's because you haven't yet become the person who deserves it. If you spend your life blaming other people for the life you have, you'll never get it. "It's my fault. Winners win. Be better." These are the mantras of this show. Start embracing them today, and watch your life begin to change.

Half of Americans are now out of work. Yes, you read that right. For the first time in history, half of all Americans are out of work. But you wouldn't even know it by looking at the stock market. And that's because the stock market is now, more than ever, not an indicator of the economic health of the nation. Here's one example. Earlier this week, Apple issued $8 billion in bonds. Why? They're raising money for their own stock buybacks. And sure enough, AAPL stock is up 5%. When the government ordered the lockdowns, they signed the death warrant for many existing small businesses. They'll never recover, because they weren't prepared for weeks without income. And in the case of restaurants, this whole partial reopening business won't do them any good. Because running a restaurant at a fraction of normal capacity means losing more money than just not opening at all. Adding to their troubles is the fact that lots of people are getting more in unemployment dollars than they would if they went back to work. So they're simply refusing to work. This is a recipe for disaster. But it's also an opportunity. As this recession deepens and more small businesses go under, even more capital is freed up for new small businesses. If there's one thing that rich people love to do, it's spend money on stuff that will improve their lives. So it's not all doom and gloom. You just need the right frame of mind.

***This episode covers some very sensitive adult material, so it likely is not appropriate for your children.*** We love how engaged and responsive our audience is. And we really need your help today. Our guest on this episode has an important message. She needs to get it in front of as many people as possible. But it's a sensitive subject that threatens a lot of powerful money. So, of course, social media has been censoring her content. That's why we need you guys to be proactive about sharing this episode with as many people as you can. Emily Gaudreau was a successful Playboy photographer. Then she saw something that horrified her while she was in the middle of a shoot at the height of her career. She returned home and put away her camera for good. Today, Emily is one of the world's leading voices on the issue of kids and pornography. She has dedicated her life to teaching parents about sexual abuse prevention. And now she's raising the alarm about some of the dark things that are happening in our education system. You won't believe some of the stuff they're teaching kids. I mean, they're starting some pretty graphic sex-ed training with kids who are barely potty-trained! Pornography, pedophilia, and human trafficking are difficult subjects. We're glad that we have people like Emily who are willing to take them on and spread the word. Please help her do so. This episode is brought to you by our sponsor: Honey

We're in the prediction business today. After several weeks of crazy news, it feels like we're in a bit of a lull. At least by 2020's standards. I mean, the trending news stories are just things like killer hornets in WA state, the former VP's sexual assault scandal, and the federal government confirming that UFOs exist. You know, all the boring stuff. So today we're going to make some predictions. Justin Amash announced last Tuesday that he will be running for the LP nomination for president. He knows he has no shot at re-election, and he already left the GOP. So this is his only real shot at a future as a politician. Does he stand a chance? We also tossed around some ideas about how the Democrats might work around Joe Biden losing his mind. Could they replace him before the election? Finally, the New York Fed announced that it's going to start purchasing ETFs. That's right, taxpayers are gonna be bailing out bond traders. What does this mean for the future of the economy? Listen to find out!

Every year, Gallup conducts a survey where they ask people which professions they think are honest and ethical. You can probably guess who always comes in near the top. It's all the admirable careers: nurses, pharmacists, doctors, scientists, and teachers. And of course you know who's always at the bottom: members of Congress, lawyers, and salesmen. Why is it that everyone loves a sale but nobody loves a salesman? Because here's the funny thing. You know all those most trusted professions? They're all in the business of selling too. Whenever a doctor writes a prescription, he's selling you on a potential treatment to whatever's ailing you. When a scientist publishes a research paper, he's selling the community on the validity of the results of his research. When a teacher opens her class, she's selling her students on a picture of the world that she believes in. It doesn't matter what industry you're in, you're in the business of selling. So are you doing everything you can to be the best at selling whatever it is you do? If not, why not? If you aren't doing whatever you can to make yourself better, you're cheating yourself, your family, and everyone who would benefit from what you have to offer. Anyway, you want to know something that's pretty ironic? Remember how medical professions are consistently among the most trusted? Turns out not everyone is buying what most of them are selling in the middle of this pandemic. The governor of California, Gavin Newsom, recently ordered all Orange County beaches to close. He's concerned that the region isn't adhering strictly enough to the stay at home orders (they aren't). OC officials have more or less told him where he can put it. The sheriff said Thursday that he hadn't seen the order and that he wasn't going to enforce it. And rural Modoc County is going even further. They're allowing bars, restaurants, and churches to reopen today in direct defiance of the orders from Sacramento. It's been a long time since we've seen local governments giving the finger to larger governments this much. But it's a beautiful thing to see. The future is bright. Have a great weekend, you guys!

You're about to listen to one of the best interviews we've ever had on this show. Chris Williamson is an absolute beast. His first claim to fame was appearing on Love Island, a reality show in the UK. But now he's the brains behind the Modern Wisdom podcast. For the last couple years, he's been cranking out some of the most incredible interviews on the internet. I mean, just look at this line of names: Aubrey Marcus, Michael Malice, Rory Sutherland, James Clear, Ben Greenfield, Derek Sivers, Robert Greene, David Epstein, Sean Carroll, Douglas Murray. Plus tons of others. But even better, he doesn't just talk to brilliant people. He's a brilliant guy in his own right. In fact, throughout this entire show, he even had us busting out our notebooks to write down all the bits of wisdom he was dropping. Today we talked about life hacks for transforming your own habits, how to diversify your income to hedge yourself against risk and maximize your own prosperity, why even one drink a week is keeping you from your potential, and much more. It's rare that you'll run into a guy who's this well-read, charismatic, and insightful. So hold on to your butts. We've got tons of stuff on the docket today! First of all, as we've been predicting for a couple weeks, people are fed up with the lockdown. It was only supposed to be a temporary thing to prevent a rush that overwhelms the hospitals. But it's dragged on now for a month and half, with no end in sight. Nearly half of the cases in the US are in New York and New Jersey. Over half of the deaths are in the same two states. Yet the entire country is under basically the same lockdown. So finally, the mayor of a small town in New Mexico announced that he will allow local businesses to reopen, in defiance of the governor's orders. And Texas is lifting their lockdown beginning May 1st. Expect other states to quickly follow suit. Meanwhile, the story they're telling us about the virus just isn't adding up. The diagnostic criteria is way too broad. The two different types of tests have some serious reliability issues. But anyone who challenges the official dogma about the virus is getting shut down. And that should make you question what people are telling you. However, that's not even the most appalling story of the weekend. You probably heard the rumors and jokes about Trump telling people to drink bleach. But the corporate press got the story laughably wrong. In fact, they botched it so badly that it's clear it was an intentional effort to discredit the President. We'll explain. Finally, if the press is willing to manufacture stories about Trump, how do we know when they're telling the truth? Supposedly Kim Jong Un is dead. But who knows!

It's been years since YouTube supported free speech. But now they aren't even pretending. According to CEO Susan Wojcicki, their official policy now is to remove any content that contradicts the WHO. Two months ago, the WHO was saying that the virus couldn't pass from human to human. They also said more than once that wearing a mask is a waste. Clearly, we should take their word as gospel. Meanwhile, California reported the highest one-day rise in cases so far. Yet with the standard for testing positive getting looser and looser every day, it's tough to know exactly what that means. Finally, Congress is debating three new proposals: The Emergency Money for the People Act would send Americans $2,000 monthly checks for up to one year The Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act would cancel rent and mortgage payments for up to one year The Getting America Back to Work Act would provide a payroll tax rebate that covers 80 percent of payroll expenses Who knows which bill will pass. Maybe all three! It won't really matter. Whatever happens, money will continue to flow TO the people who know how to attract it and AWAY from those who only know how to spend it. We'll also discuss Harvard receiving $9 million in stimulus money despite their multi-billion dollar endowment, and a YouTube "influencer" with a video that got over a million views. Plus, Ellen DeGeneres is under fire because her public persona is apparently quite different from her private life. All this and more! After you listen to this episode, please share it with a friend. We're growing like crazy, and it's all thanks to each and every one of you. So thank you for helping us spread the word. Jason's taking a long weekend to finally recuperate from a crazy first quarter, so no show on Friday. We'll see you guys again on Monday. Have a great weekend!
April 20, 2020
We've got a spicy one for you guys today. There will probably be some hurt feelings. And we'll probably even lose some listeners. But someone has to tell the harsh truths. So here we go: Americans, in general, are way too soft. Locking yourself down and staying home for several weeks shouldn't be a crisis. Not in a world of DoorDash, Netflix, and the rest of the internet. Yet people are saying stuff like "this is our World War II!" Give me a break. Now obviously there are plenty of people who were living paycheck to paycheck who have lost their jobs and don't know when they'll be able to make money again. It's a shame that they find themselves in that situation, so we don't mean to belittle them. But millions and millions of Americans haven't lost their jobs. They're just stuck at home twiddling their thumbs for a few weeks. And they can't handle it. The real story here is that the virus isn't making people sick as much as it's revealing how sick they already were. For far too long, we've let our culture stagnate. We've relaxed into our immense wealth. We've taken it for granted while ignoring the warning signs of both physical and financial disease. Now, everyone sees the walls closing in around them. They're even talking about people getting PTSD from the "trauma" of being stuck at home. But here's the good news. You can train yourself to look past the doom-and-gloom narratives of the media. Suddenly you'll realize how much of this crisis was deliberately manufactured and planted in people's minds. And once you do, you'll start seeing all the opportunities for growth. That's what we're talking about today. ***** Also, don't forget: today is your last chance to sign up for the Knowledge Revolution course at the current sale price. We've experienced a shift in the last few days. The chickens are getting restless. As we poke our heads out of our houses here in LA, we're seeing more and more people out walking and driving around. Humans are active social creatures. We can only handle so much time cooped up before we gotta get out and move around. Not to mention the majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. So they can't hold up through weeks and weeks without an income. As of this week, 22 million Americans have filed for unemployment. And the federal government's small business loan program just ran out of money. That's $349 billion blown in less than two weeks. In other words, it's time to open up our society again. But the problem is, most Americans aren't suffering just because of the shutdown. They were already in a bad financial spot, and just sending them back to work won't fix everything. Because they don't know how to attract money. They just know how to spend it. All the major retailers know it. In fact, Costco dropped the price of an 80" flat-screen Samsung TV to exactly $1200, and it sold out already. 99% of the population are buyers. They only know how to spend money. They don't know how to attract it. Only 1% know how to attract money. Yet the irony is, the 1% who know how to attract money are net buyers of other people's time. And the 99% who only know how to spend money are net sellers of their time to others. The economy will open up, and people will go back to work. The stock market will take off again. But the financial condition of most Americans will only continue to deteriorate. So we're gonna keep spreading this message. ***** Most people will squander their $1200. Jason wants to show you a way out, so that you never have to be one of the people standing in a line waiting for your handout. If you want to learn how to be one of the people who attracts money, you have to start solving problems for other people. Then you need to learn how to sell and market your solutions to them. On Monday, Jason is launching a new course called Knowledge Revolution. If you want to learn how to launch an information business from scratch in 30 days, sign up here: letterfromjason.com. We're in the middle of one of the biggest economic crises in history. So you'd think people would be excited to hear any positive news. But most people aren't wired that way. Envy abounds in a nation hard-wired for consumption. So it is that we get stories like this one. The author can barely contain his disgust that Jeff Bezos is getting richer while others are suffering. Who cares that Amazon has created more wealth and prosperity for more people than perhaps any other company in history. It doesn't matter. The mantra of today's popular culture is, if someone is suffering, everyone must suffer. Not on this show. We live our lives by a philosophy of greatness. Every day will be better than the last. Every day WE will be better than yesterday. We are living in momentous times. The knowledge revolution has begun. Now it's just a question of whether you're going to lead or follow. ~~~~~

The corporate press is melting down about mass graves and bread lines as America begins to groan under the weight of the lockdown. We've been under lockdown for about a month now, and the natives are getting restless. Most people agree that we need to get back to work soon. But, as usual, the media are spending all of their time spreading fear and hysteria. And in the process, they're helping exactly nobody. Because now is not the time to cower in fear. Now is the time for action. Everywhere you look, there's opportunities to make yourself better. And the best way to help the people standing in bread lines is by making sure you aren't one of them. Here in LA, we've now been under lockdown for 3 weeks. Most major leaders have already extended the lockdown orders for at least another month, but it's not even clear we'll be much better off by then. And that's only considering the direct impact of the virus. It's tough to say exactly how bad the virus is, because we don't have clear data. Even if we did, amateur virology isn't our forte. What we CAN understand is the state of the economy. And it's clear that even if the virus went "poof!" tomorrow, our world will be suffering for years from the response to it. We've only just begun to see how bad it's going to get. But it's not all bad news! We're in the middle of a major global crisis. No matter what you think of the virus itself, we have tens of thousands dead and millions out of work. Meanwhile, all the usual characters are up to their usual games. They don't hesitate to turn any event into a political football. And it doesn't matter how much they have to skew the truth, as long as they can score a win for their side of the aisle. Today we're gonna look at a Chris Cuomo clip. He's supposedly suffering through a 102-degree fever, but that isn't stopping him from selectively editing clips of Donald Trump. All of these people are trying to influence you. "If it bleeds, it leads" continues to be the rule of the day. The media continues bombarding us with negativity and hysteria round the clock. They have to do whatever they can, because their business model depends upon clicks and views. Drama sells. And now they have an even more captive audience. So they'll keep cranking it out. But this obsession with every bad thing that happens is literally poisoning our minds. So today we want to focus on all the opportunities and potential that the future holds. When you only have a single tool in your toolkit, eventually your solutions will just make the problem worse. For years, governments have had a single response to every recession: create more debt. As a result, businesses and consumers are drowning in debt with very little cash to see them through this crisis. Meanwhile, politicians are using the only tool they have. Nancy Pelosi couldn't be troubled to disrupt her impeachment charade in January and February. But now she says it's Trump's fault that people are dying, because he took too long to react. And finally, libertarians have been even more useless than usual. Their only value is "the government is bad," so they've offered nothing productive to move the conversation forward. Things look bleak right now. But one man's tragedy is another's opportunity. And that's good! Because we need some silver linings. Those who are paying attention now can start creating a better world. Opportunities abound. You just have to start looking for them.

Congress just passed a $2 TRILLION bill for "coronavirus relief," the largest stimulus bill ever passed in the US. For now, all the headlines are focusing on the $1200 checks for people making less than $75,000. But in order to fund this plan, the US Treasury will be issuing trillions in new debt. In other words, Wall Street is going to have an absolute field day with all these new investment opportunities. As always, the biggest welfare recipients in the US are the banks and the institutions closest to the banks. Financial policy serves to prop up the financial elite at the expense of the rest of us. The stimulus package during the 2008 housing crisis totaled around $1 trillion. The Fed also added around $700 billion as part of QE1. At the time, it was unheard of for the government to spend that much. My, how times have changed. Today, the White House and Senate announced that they have agreed to a $2 trillion emergency bill, to go with an expected $4 trillion in lending power by the Fed. You shouldn't be surprised that bailing out one industry 12 years ago led to numerous industries begging for handouts today. When you reward bad behavior, you get more of it.
March 23, 2020
The Fed has dumped trillions into the market just in the last couple weeks alone. It's slashed rates to zero and eliminated reserve requirement. And on Monday, it announced that would purchase Treasurys and mortgage-backed securities without limits. The SARS-CoV-2 virus has ripped away the curtains and revealed gaping festering wounds in our economy. And these Fed policies are only papering over the holes. What does the future hold? If you've been listening to us, we've been warning of a major crisis on the horizon. But we've also given you the blueprint for not only surviving, but ensuring that you thrive and prosper in the new economy.
March 18, 2020
That's it. It only took a few days, but we've already lost all the gains in the stock market since Obama left office. The Fed cut rates to zero and eliminated the reserve requirement. The government is talking about trillion dollar bailouts and direct cash payments. They're doing everything they can think of to slow the collapse. And yet it continues. But rather than focus on the doom and gloom, we want to take a peek into the future today. This crisis won't last forever. In fact, there's already good news on the virus front. And we believe that this whole experience will ultimately change our society for the better. Listen today to find out how.

The magic of the internet is that anyone can get their message in front of thousands or millions of people at any time. But everyone has an agenda. And we're emotional beings. So everyone is motivated to play on the emotions of everyone else. "If it bleeds, it leads" is a tale as old as time. Social media and news media are more the same than different, and they play by the same rules. Therefore, it should be no surprise that hysteria rules the day. Into this context, then, let's talk coronavirus, the collapse of oil prices, and the teetering stock market. Everyone is scaremongering about all of the above. Why? What do they want from you? Should you be panicking? Or is now a time to capitalize on opportunities created by other people's bad decisions? “History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books. Books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. As Napoleon once said, 'What is history, but a fable agreed upon?'” - Dan Brown "Fake news" is a meme forever embedded in the American mind. The phrase was first coined by members of the corporate press. They hoped to use it as a weapon to malign Donald Trump. But they made a huge mistake. He's the ultimate branding master. And he flipped it on them. Then he positioned himself as the opponent of the "fake news media." Before, they set the agenda, and everyone else reacted to it. Now, Trump sets the agenda, and everyone else reacts to him. As a result, Trump controls their minds. When you control the message, you control the minds. In this sense, we can understand how a small group of powerful institutions has controlled American minds for generations. If you control the institutions, you control the message. If you control the message, you control the minds. When you control the minds, you control the people. Universities write the history. And the media disseminates it. But none of them have ever been neutral mouthpieces. Because there's no such thing as objective history or neutral media. Legendary Twitter account @amusechimp put it most aptly: "if the news are fake imagine history." So what parts of American history did they (deliberately) NOT teach you in school? That's the subject of today's discussion with renegade historian and professor Thaddeus Russell, author of A Renegade History of the United States and founder of Renegade University. You don't want to miss this one. Listen now!

The DNC just executed one of the most brazen political checkmates of all time. First, they kneecapped Bernie Sanders in 2016. He could have fought back. But instead, he kowtowed to Hillary Clinton. Perhaps he thought he could build momentum for four years and be all but guaranteed the nomination in 2020. Turns out, he was a great big sucker. Throughout the primary process, Bernie has looked like the likely favorite. But then the DNC stepped in. Immediately before Super Tuesday, Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar suddenly decided to drop out and inexplicably endorse Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren has performed no better than either of them. But nobody leaned on her to end her campaign, because her platform is identical to Bernie's. She poaches voters from him. That leaves us with Mike Bloomberg. The internet is awash with Bloomberg mockery (you should see Trump's tweets!). But Mini Mike didn't waste $700 million. He purchased something much more valuable than the presidency, and you'll only hear about it in this episode. 👇So listen now! 👇 This episode is brought to you by our sponsors: Blue Vine Stamps (Code: STAPLETON)

If you were alive in the 1780s, you got to witness the first major economic revolution of the modern age. The steam locomotive burst onto the scene, and the labor force began a steady move away from agriculture. By the 1870s, the Industrial Revolution was in full force. Urban factories had replaced rural farms, and American life was more connected than ever. Then the car and the airplane showed up at the start of the 20th century. And, between the 1970s & 1990s, the internet roared into the world. Each of these major innovations fundamentally changed the economy. In every case, entire industries vanished overnight as new innovations transformed people's lives. But some people were ready for it. They positioned themselves to profit immensely in the new world because they saw the changes coming and they prepared for them. We are on the cusp of another massive transformation in the global economy. Widespread automation and artificial intelligence will create brand new industries. But it will also destroy. Anything that can be automated will be automated. What will this mean for you? Are you going to be caught with your pants down, dependent upon someone else to bail you out? Or will you be one of the powerful few who controls your own destiny? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Intro music by Nick White, producer of The Statist Quo.

If you were alive in the 1780s, you got to witness the first major economic revolution of the modern age. Every election year, someone will say, "This is the most important election of our lifetime!" This is a little different: Bernie Sanders is the most important man of our generation. The Democratic primary is a litmus test of the popularity of his message of weakness and dependence. If voters show out to support Bernie, it'll signal a historic shift in the American mind. And it will be the product of generations of propaganda.

Margaret Thatcher once said that "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money." People who advocate for "progressive" policies think that they're being generous and compassionate. They think they're taking on The Man while uplifting the poor and weak. Yet whenever they become The Man, suddenly they don't want to play by their own rules. The most recent example is Cenk Uygur, creator of The Young Turks. His employees want to unionize at last. It was just a matter of time. Now, ol' Cenk is suddenly concerned about profits! The irony is delicious. Here's the thing. It's true that unions aren't good for businesses. But they're also not good for employees. The only thing unions are good for is unions. Union advocates feel betrayed by corporations, which isn't totally unreasonable. Corporations are in the business of providing services and making money. They aren't responsible for taking care of you, because only you are responsible for taking care of you. Collective bargaining is an outdated tool. If you think your employer isn't giving you everything you deserve, you don't need to use a union or the state to force them into it. Your best job security is in maximizing your own human capital. Make yourself so damned valuable that one of two things will happen. Either your employer will have no choice but to give you whatever you ask for just to keep you around. Or someone else will come along and offer you what you want. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Intro music by Nick White, producer of The Statist Quo.

This morning, the stock market opened nearly a thousand points below Friday's close. It's the largest dip in over a year, and ate up all the gains for 2020. It shouldn't be a surprise. When a viral illness essentially shuts down the second largest market in the world, the market suffers. The fun has only just begun. Our economy teeters on the edge of a knife. All it needs is a little push. Since the coronavirus is more like a huge shove, perhaps it's the catalyst that will bring it all crashing down. We'll see. The next couple of days will tell us a lot. So what does it mean for you? Is it all doom and gloom? Well, every crash has been successively worse than the one before. So if this is the big one, it'll be really bad. At the same time, if you understand what's happening, you can see what's coming. And you can prepare. On today's show, we'll break down the workings behind these moves in the market. Then we'll discuss what the future may hold. Whether you're an expert investor or a total novice, you need to hear this conversation. After you've listened, please share the show with friends, family, or anyone else who needs to hear this message. While everyone else is handwringing about the apocalypse, we're going to be setting ourselves up to thrive through the recession. And we want you to join us. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Intro music by Nick White, producer of The Statist Quo.

Over the past few weeks, we've talked a lot about the future of the liberty movement. Today, we're approaching the subject from a slightly different angle. But first, let's talk about the most recent Democratic debate. It's increasingly looking like a two-horse race. Bernie Sanders has been pacing the field for a while now, and it's pretty clear at this point. He's the people's choice. However, money talks. And Mike Bloomberg has a TON of money. The DNC clearly want to avoid a Bernie Sanders presidency. Will they even hand over their party to a rich white billionaire? Anything to defeat the Republicans' rich white billionaire! But it makes no difference. The DNC is going to nominate someone to lose to Trump, and your life is going to go on just the same. For the bulk of the show today, we're going to discuss why it's so hard to escape America's so-called "anti poverty" programs. American poverty rates plummeted throughout the 1960s, but they've remained between 11 and 15% ever since. That's nearly a half-century of unchanged poverty rates. Why? It's not a lack of money. Since 1973, anti-poverty programs have exploded from 3% to 20% of public spending. Here's the thing: it's no mystery what causes poverty. Poverty is the natural state of man. So the real question we need to ask is, what causes wealth? And how can you get a piece of it? How can everyone get a piece of it? It's not that Americans lack opportunity. Everyone has access to the internet, and nearly everyone has a cell phone. That means effectively everyone has the tools to conquer their own poverty. Yet they remain locked in dependence. It's no accident. Today, we'll dissect a conspiracy. It's a concerted effort by those with wealth, power, and influence to not only keep Americans poor, but to profit from their poverty. You need to understand how the system keeps people down, so you can understand how to save yourself. Once you know how to save yourself, you can teach others how to save themselves. And maybe this liberty movement will start moving. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Intro music by Nick White, producer of The Statist Quo.
