If you’re familiar with my book, you’ll know all about my concept of ‘lizard brains.’ If this is your first time hearing about it, a lizard brain is essentially the inner fear we all have that convinces us to run and hide at the first sign of danger.
The funny thing about our brain is that it doesn’t differentiate fears. So, whether you’re afraid to send an email or your life is in danger, your brain responds to that fear by protecting you from it. One way it does this is by coming up with limiting beliefs that stop you from going after the ‘scary thing.’ If you don’t try, you can’t fail. Right?
