Abel rocks
If you’re looking for self enrichment then Abel is your guy. Been listening to Abel and all the awesome guests for about a year now. I’ve lost weight and gained strength by taking in some of the advice from this podcast. I’m super grateful for humans like Abel James. Sharing such wealth of information. Thank you.
Excellent Podcast
DJ Brede
I’m a fairly new listener and have been scrolling through the past available episodes. So far every episode I have listened to has been very informative and interesting the whole way through. I think the hour time frame works well and Abel does a great job at letting the other individual/expert speak their point. The follow up questions are concise and well prepared which all leads to maximum info obtained by the listener. This podcast has also led me to other great experts and doctors who believe in food, diet and lifestyle as paramount to great health. I am a Type 1 Diabetic and use a lot of this info to improve my health and lifestyle. My wife has hypo-thyroid issues (Hashimotos) and I also take what I learn and discuss with her. Keep up the great work and thank you for doing this!
Poor Dieting Mindset
Marketer in GR
I was liking an episode until he answered a question saying you should probably be shooting for less than 100g of carbs - LOL. And it’s so much fear-mongering of certain foods. Only have a couple bites of tropical fruit because they are high in sugar??? Wow. I’ll give him credit because he constantly said “in moderation,” which should be the mind set, but not if you are nitpicking the hek out of what are otherwise completely good whole foods. I’ll give it a try and see if his episodes interviewing experts are better advice, but not sure if I would trust his personal experiences as a guide.
Low quality interview
This show sadly had Low and superficial questions about mushrooms and the other question is completely unrelated.
Favorite Podcast
This is by far my favorite podcast in the health and fitness genre. It offers great thought provoking discussions in what it means to be “healthy”. The guests all have impressive resumes and backgrounds in their respective fields. What sets this podcast apart is how accessible the information is. Anyone with impressive backgrounds can relay information from their field but if it’s not done in a way for people to digest it’s useless. This is definitely where Abel’s talents as a host/moderator comes in. Also, in reducing these complex ideas and concepts down for the average person, the podcast provides useful tips and insight to incorporate changes into your daily life. Highly recommend this podcast and look forward to the new episodes.
Life changing
To his core, Abel James, wants to help everyone, in every way, to become the best and healthiest version of themselves. I can not recommend something more then this person and anything he or his wife is involved in. It is life changing.
Love your podcast!

Just want to say that I enjoy listening to your podcast! My family and friends think I’m weird because I’m interested in health and anti aging. I started training for my 18th marathon and your podcast gets me through the miles! My mother is 86 and refuses medication for her few health issues- all diet! I hope I can convince my family and friends not to follow the “norm”! Thanks Abel!
Hip hop believer
Don’t take this the wrong way I’ve been happily married for 30 years but you have a very sexy voice....I wouldn’t even care what you talk about but I found a doctor that put me on a Keto diet so I do enjoy the content too :)
Too much advertising
I love the podcast but I listen to a lot of podcasts and tend to be months behind so my listening time is valuable. There is so much advertising at the beginning of this podcast that I just skip to about the 10 min mark and usually it’s still not at the show content yet. I never skips ads in other podcasts but in this case the ads are as long as some of the other podcasts that I listen to ads and content. I appreciate that you need to advertise you products but If you could just give a brief summary of the products in a couple of minutes that would be great!
Love the podcasts
Love all the subject stuff but the audio is super annoying .. I find it incredibly frustrating .. please fix it .. otherwise I live the subjects
Misinformation and unreliable
He interviews people who don’t have credible knowledge and experience in many of the topics. This causes rampant misinformation in the podcasts due to the lack of knowledge and the hosts inability to find reliable sources of information.
Excellent discussion with Dr Perlmutter
Everyone should listen to this podcast. Really gives us hope that we can enjoy good health with diet and lifestyle choices. Don't be lazy! Think about what you are doing! Suggestion for guest speaker: Dr William Sears. Thank you, Barbara
Great show with a lot of information!
Lots of eye opening information, great guests and family friendly! Love that Abel doesn’t have on a bunch of meat heads dropping f-bombs. Also, love the fact he doesn’t bow to corporate sponsors. Everyday is something different, never gets old. Abel is a genuine, down to earth dude you just want to hang out with. Keep up the great work!
Thank you
Hello Abel, my name is Pablito I’m from Argentina living in Florida. I discovered your podcast by luck and I feel grateful for it. I was having food hate because there are so many conflicting poo ya of view that really made me hate food, I was always tired and I’m still over weight but I lost 14lbs by starting to intermittent fast and going back to basics. Thanks for the guidance through the podcast and looking forward to your book that should be home soon :) May you be happy and joyful
Thanks for a non gimmick-y podcast.
I started this two days ago and have already lost my first 5 lbs. I am looking forward to getting back to my high school weight. I love the podcast and enjoy the solid advice and non-preachy format. Keep it up!
Opens the dialogue for conversation and new perspectives
I love this podcast so much. My favorite way to start my day and drive to work. I really appreciate how Abel brings in a variety of guests with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. He is strong in his stance about overall health, yet is always open to hear different viewpoints, learn, and gain new insights. I love the transparency and how this podcast opens the dialogue for different perspectives that needs to happen in the health space. With so many people/things taking the “my way or the highway” approach (and putting other people down) in the health space, this podcast is a true breath of fresh air. Keep up the mission of the podcast, Abel- it is a true inspiration to me!
AMAZINGGGG podcast!!
abel and alyson are changing the world!! i started listening to the podcast about a month ago and i am hooked! i bought the book, started eating wild and have already lost 8 pounds!! seriously loving all the guests you have on the show and your message of health! in the world we live in today, podcasts like these are SUPER important to spread the word! thanks so much for everything abel and alyson!! you guys ROCK!!
Great Voice
I liked your episode with Gary Collins. It helped push me to do a health detox (phone, spending, sugar). You have a fun vibe on your interviews. I also think your improv at the end was great. You have a great voice. Will add you to my podcast lineup so I don’t miss out when I am back online.
Fantastic! A must listen to podcast.

Abel is a fantastic interviewer and is one of the few hosts that really takes the time and effort to study his guests and their work before he interviews them. This makes a clear difference in the quality of each interview. He really knows how to pull out insightful information from his guests to make a positive impact in the lives of his listeners. I was honored to be a guest on the show and immediately felt a deep connection to Abel. This is an incredible show with invaluable information hosted by an amazing human being. Highly recommend you check this out.
Too many sponsor adds
I really like the show content, his voice & guests. I can no longer deal with 7 minutes of intro and adds ... I have limited time and it’s frustrating when you just want the show to start. Sorry & just constructive feedback - hope to come back someday!
More of the same
Matt Gaidica
A lot of great people are pulled in, but it’s the same interview you’ve probably heard somewhere else. I had to draw the line on a recent Q&A where Abel spent the first half pitching a product, then gave some anecdotes about kettle bells and protein, and finally criticized carnivore diets in zero-evidence fashion. There’s a significant debate right now between plant and meat camps, and it deserves more than opinion, especially considering that both sides have incredible success stories. Unfortunately, because the host is ‘just a guy’, the content needs to go above and beyond, and I’m not sure it does.
This Pod is good for your Bod
I absolutely endorse Abel and his vision for pursuit of dreams, refinement of method, and enthusiasm for the process as we make our way towards happiness, fulfillment, and better lives. Thank you so much Abel for producing this wonderful show. Cheers, Thank You, Errh!
Great show
Always super interesting guests, Abel is engaged and educated, clearly working hard to be prepared.

This sceptic has been won over
Jacob Floren
Okay, I found this podcast somehow randomly & started listening... & then I kept listening... & listening... & then I was like okay... let me really put this to the test... this “Wild Diet” thing... So, I bought your book as well. Suffice it to say I’ve been won over. I will follow up with a more detailed story on your Facebook page (assuming I can find it) & I’ll be sure to drop a review of the book on Amazon. Keep up the good work. 👍🏼
Great show, but far too many adds.
I have been a big fan of the show for a very long time and a frequent listener. I have his book and have followed his content. This podcast is full of excellent information, but I use the term for lightly. Overtime the podcast has transitioned into 80% content 20% as. This episode I just recently listen to didn’t start until 12 minutes into the podcast. 12 straight minutes of able advertising his products. I completely understand the need to advertise to keep a podcast running, but 12 minutes in the beginning and more than five minutes in the end is too much in my opinion. I will keep listening for now, but if the ads increase I will find a different source for my information. If you do listen, use the rule of thumb and fast forward through the first seven minutes.
Every episode is packed with really useful information!!!!
Life Giving
Abel, I have always lived a pretty healthy lifestyle. Thank you for your podcast and getting the truth out there on “good fats” and great living. I hope to live even healthier thanks to you and the functional medicine people out there. Love to hear you interview Dr. Zach Johnson from the Livewell Clinic in Iowa.
5 years and 23 grand maul seizures later
wow how'd you do it?
This podcast is amazing. The different guests you have shed light onto many aspects of life that aren’t always shown. I was hit by a car 9 years ago and have suffered massive brain loss and had been diagnosed with epilepsy. Your show keeps my mind working while I am at work and I am always making notes from the information provided by your show.
Noelle Tar & Stefani Ruper: 5 stars!!!
Noelle Tar & Stefani Ruper: this podcast has been the story of my life. So good! 5 stars!!! Thank you Abel for bringing them on your show!!! This talk of the shame cycle was especially important for me to hear. Well, I heard it and it helped me a lot!!! So thanks again Abel for your fantastic work!!!
I look forward to each episode!
I wish there was a new episode everyday. I love using the info i learn in the show to learn more about my health and keeping my family fed as well as possible.
6/7/18 Guest: Alyson Rose
Long review :) I just started listening to your podcast and have now finished the one with Chaz and Alyson. Both great discussions and information. I am addicted to podcasts and having been a trainer and instructor for 25 years, I listen to several health and wellness podcasters. I really like the ‘feel’ of this one. Educational, real, yet fun too. I look forward to more! I especially enjoyed listening to your wife’s chat with you. I am now in my mid-50s (with four kids in their 20s) and have held Alyson’s current fitness lifestyle since I was in my mid-30s. After playing sports all my life and working out intensely everyday like Alyson talked about, I got into doing shorter, effective and intense workouts (HIIT style) and then mix that with yoga, tai chi, general flexibility and core routines. As a result, I truly believe I’ve prevented injury to my body as I’ve aged. I am grateful to continue to teaching indoor cycle, instruct yoga and crossfit, and am so thankful to still be able to enjoy climbing, hiking, biking and kayaking with my husband. I also practice modified Keto (a little more protein since I workout every day). I also love intermittent fasting and do this three days a week for hormone balance and much more. This has taken away all of my menopausal symptoms after a radical hysterectomy two years ago. Anyway, keep up the great work. You’re definitely on the right track! :) Thanks for sharing.
The Best of the Best
This podcast is amazing. I learned more from this than any other keto broadcast and I’ve listened to a lot. The only one that comes close is The Obesity Code, which explains keto just about as well.
Real Topics
I enjoy the down to earth and practical aspect of this podcast.
Great Show
So excited to have found this show! I’m not only impressed with the physical results but the mental results from the tips in this podcast. My job has been very stressful, and I’ve realized how important my diet and exercise is when it comes to focus. Lastly, my favorite part is that the cravings are gone!! I look forward to eating veggies and REAL food. Please give this a listen it’s will surprise you, I promise.
Can’t stop listening
I recently discovered this show and have already listened to every episode I can get my hands on! I love the wild diet approach and it has added so much value to my life. Able if you’re reading this I have a podcast request: I love the weight loss I’ve seen from my diet change however my boyfriend is more metabolically blessed than I and he is looking to GAIN weight. Any wild diet recommendations??
Nice show but
dubious noiz
Love the show but I don’t get a chance to listen often because the video aspect requires podcast app to be open and using the screen. So my phone is effectively disabled (pun not intended) when enjoying the show. Wish there was an audio only version.
83 lbs Down Since January 2018
I was 530 lbs on January 7, 2018 and had decided enough is enough. I’m 6’4 and 36 years old and felt 80 most mornings. I have 3 young children and I want to be around for them. I started eating this way out of luck because I just found stumbled onto this pod cast a week ago. In January I cut all grains and sugars from my diet and started what I thought was a low carb high fat diet. I then tweaked it to a low carb moderate fat moderate protein diet in February and after hearing Abel on this pod cast realized I was following his plan, AND IT WORKS!!! Just weighed in today at 447 lbs 83 pounds lighter in roughly 4 months. I have never felt better. After listening to two years worth of the show I have started to incorporate vitamin c and fermented veggies to my diet. I think this show is great!! And have been sharing it with my friends and family. Thank you Abel for all the information you have opened my mind up to. It really is amazing.
Best show I’ve heard!
This is the best story I’ve heard so far listening to podcast. Actually got emotional listening to it this morning. This is my first review ever for podcast too. LoL I’m going to Lowe’s today!
Great Podcast
I just started listening to this podcast and I find so full of information with guests that share valuable information on healthy ways to eat and live. Great job Abel!
Glad I found your podcast.
Mama Son
Listened to your interview with Naomi from Glow 15. Great interview. Both of you speak so kind and calming, and both so informative. Just bought her book on Amazon. Will listen to another of your podcasts later tonight. I’m sonya. Age 50 and lost 60lbs on Keto , from Ft Lauderdale.
Amazing amazing
I LOVE this podcast!! Abel has been taking me down the road to better health for myself, fueling my passion for learning about food as medicine and all related topics and has motivated me to even change my profession so I can help others. I have never listened to an episode I didn’t like! Thanks for what you do, Abel and Allyson!!
Ray’s corner!
Been working on loading my corner team with a wealth of information and motivation to get ready for a healthier me and your podcast is leading the team mr Abel. Thank you for being a voice every morning on my way to work and the end of my runs! Keep bringing in them awesome guests and people wonder what kind of caffeine or drugs I’m on with my positivity in the morning, it’s just a venti of Abel James no sugar and all natural cream folks!!!
Wish There Were More!
I love listening to Abel James but have been caught up for awhile and miss the podcast! He is an honest and entertaining guy who has got the right idea about a healthy and livable lifestyle. Anyone while listens will love this podcast!
Little info
A lot of talking with little useful information - juggling, off road unicycle, etc. No detailed specifics in the first half of the podcast. “Give up sugar for 30 days” - there - now no need to listen for an hour. Too much of a time waste to listen to the second half. BTW - listening to a juggler on a podcast is like getting excited by a naked babe on a podcast.
Centering and Actionable
Really appreciate Abel’s wisdom and warmth. He is a gifted teacher, and I’m grateful that he shares his talents with his followers as he does. Huge fan here!
Great show!!
I found out Abel James because of his Wild Diet Book. I love the show!
Every time I feel as though I’m backsliding I tune in and get excited all over again and reinforce my clean eating habits. Thank you Abel!
Over the top
Yes - exercise and diet are amazing and do amazing things. But they aren’t cure all’s as professed here
Makes sense
I work in the medical field and see how western medicine has digressed, it’s frustrating how I work in the medical field and when I had medical ailments, it wasn’t until I went to a Homeopathist that I started finding out what was causing my issues. Every specialist I went to just wanted me to get on the next “new and improved pill”. I want to fix my problem, not cover it up. Listening to this podcast has also helped me progress in my physical health healing process. I love it and it makes sense.
