Use code WHEELNERDS for a 10% discount when ordering!   And now for something completely different. Our guest this week is Miranda Young of Ghost Biker Explorations. She's a Harley-riding, paranormal investigator and on this week's show, we learn that Chuck is a giant nerd for ghost stuff. Miranda has her show on YouTube, where you can see her whole first season of episodes. She rides and investigates into the history and lore of small towns, abandoned landmarks, and historical sites while performing paranormal investigations to see if she can collect evidence of ghost activity. It's a pretty neat hook, and if nothing else, is a pretty cool way to learn some history of small town America. She's gearing up to release Season 2 of her show on October 1. Even if you're not into ghosts, like Todd, her show is interesting enough on the history side to draw you in. Episode 220:   Our guest this time around is Robert Pandya, the team manager for International Motorcycle Show's Discover The Ride Initiative. Taking place primarily at the different IMS venues, (and some other places), DTR invites new and experienced riders, from kids to adults, to try out and enjoy five interactive riding zones, with the big one being an actual riding course on speed-limited Zero electric motorcycles. Instructors from Total Control Training provide guidance and instruction while safety gear comes from Cycle Gear, Shark, HJC, and Shoei. They got kids rolling around on Stacyc electric balance bikes. They let you get on a wheelie machine to feel what a wheelie is like. They got a dyno machine so you can sit on something that's really loud. It's equivalent to the 30 min trial dive you can do with Scuba stuff and hopefully, it spreads!       Wheelnerds stickers and keytags for sale! Check them out here!     CLASSIFIEDS: https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2010-Harley-Davidson-ROAD-KING-5007808168 https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/56237675 https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/56236779 https://westky.craigslist.org/mcy/d/west-paducah-ratbike1-of-kindcoolest/6888942848.html https://huntsville.craigslist.org/mcy/d/harvest-cushman-silver-eagle-1965/6897412841.html   Links: Progressive International Motorcycle Shows https://womenssportbikerally.com/west-rally-2019/ Wheelnerd's Handy Inspection Checklist Joe Popp (musician) (He recorded the Dicks Dicks Dicks theme used in the beginning). Episode 211:   This week, we have Wes Fleming of BMW MOA's Chasing the Horizon Podcast. He's also got a YouTube channel called Nicht Uber Max, where he bangs on BMW bikes tools that are not checkbooks and credit cards. Stealing his bio from his podcast: Wes tried being a rock star for 25 years, but gave all that up to focus on motorcycles. His mother still hasn’t forgiven him. The first new motorcycle he ever bought got run over by a car – with him still in the saddle. He discovered BMWs thanks to a friend in 2001 and has been riding trendy, not-so-trendy and sidecar-equipped BMWs ever since... ...plus a KTM.   Wheelnerds stickers and keytags for sale! Check them out here!        Classifieds: VW Trike Stretched Jurassic World Scrambler Honda Shadow Dnepr 1981 Yamaha Mini Trail   Links: Wheelnerd's Handy Inspection Checklist Joe Popp (musician) (He recorded the Dicks Dicks Dicks theme used in the beginning). Episode 202:   This time around, our guest is Malcolm Shabazz Hoover, community organizer and author of 144: ONE HUNDRED FORTY-FOUR POEMS AND ESSAYS FOR GOD, LOVE, TRUTH, JUSTICE, PEACE, AND HIP HOP. Malcolm is in the early stages of planning and preparing for Malcolm's American Ride. In his own words:    For a few years I've been watching the tide of racism rise in the United States. Racism is part of the founding consciousness of our country, and too many of us have no tools to deal with it. It's a dangerous, deadly cancer that has to be dealt with. We want to talk about it, but we don't know how so what happens is we stumble around hurting each other with our words. We want to make it better, but we don't know how. We don't have enough common language or tools to discuss these things. Some of us have been talking about these things for literally 400 years, others just started to think about it this year. We want everyone at the table to have what will be honest, hard discussions. I love people, I love to travel and I love motorcycles. I thought "How cool would it be to build a bike, jump on it, ride the country and get people talking?" Not only will we gather and talk, where we can, we'll do projects together. Hell yeah. Malcolm comes on to talk to us about social justice, riding motorcycles, and just trying to do some good in the world between people. Episode 185:   This week, Chuck turns in his on-site interview with Seth Laam of Laam Seats (http://laamseats.com), a customizer of motorcycle seats that your butt will love. We booked a ride-in appointment to Seth's location in Redding, CA and promptly screwed that up because Chuck is bad at calendars. Seth took it all in stride and sat down with Chuck the day after to continually remind him how bad he was at that. He talks about his history and his approach to crafting seats and a bunch of stuff in between. It's a LONG show this time around. I think this one beats out the Morrow one by a bit and clocks in right around the two hour mark total. We had a great time chatting with Seth and he's an awesome dude to hang out with while he's griding something to fit your ass. Riding back from California was a joy on a Laam seat. Meanwhile, Todd got to hold down the fort and meet a listener, proving that he is real.     You can see all the pics from the making of the new seat at: http://www.instagram.com/wheelnerds     Sponsors:    Surf and Summit Motorcycle: Surf and Summit Motorcycle offers Suzuki V-Strom rentals for Maine and New Hampshire.  Surf and Summit will pick you up at the airport and deliver your rental bike to your hotel at no extra charge. Due to the overwhelming response to her story, Brittany has dedicated her life to the promotion of motorcycle safety, the use of safety apparel and the education of riders regarding these important aspects of the sport.  She partnered with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in 2008 to create a web based campaign, RocktheGear.org, urging all riders to “Rock the Gear.”"      She comes on to tell her story and what she's done since then to raise awareness as well as recover physically and mentally from her accident. This is a LONG interview and is really awesome listening and hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did. Episode 164: After a long hiatus from the internet-waves, James from the Pace Podcast joins us for a good old fashioned ramble cast where we take some time to catch up with the veteran podcaster, get a quick update about the Pace, and then go on to shoot all kinds of crap all over this fun hobby world of motorcycling.  I am not going to post the link to the video of the unfortunate accident we talk about in the show. Just... no. Don't be a Billy. Don't ride stupid. Don't ride on the back of stupid. Episode 162! Chuck recaps the horror that was him trying to have a nice time when he caught up with the First Ride Up the Divide guys and attempted to tag along. Wanted to give a shoutout here to Randy and Tammy of Unique Rides in Fort Collins for getting the Ural patched up in time for me to at least ride it home without taking extra PTO. I'm re-including the links for the Ride itself. I think I might have made it into one of them...  Sponsors:  HeliteMoto: Airbag safety vest. WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING ONE? Seriously. Episode 160 of the Wheelnerds! After coming down off our Buell high, we took a week and then recorded a ramblecast. Which I saw on for a couple more weeks, because I am lazy. Also, life gets busy. From her bio: …. born and raised in Oak Harbor, Washington…that is the largest and most northern city on Whidbey Island…a beautiful place nestled in the cold waters of the Puget Sound.  I always feel very lucky to have been born in such an amazing part of the USA. I have been obsessed with motorcycles from a very early age, really as long as i can remember.  I had not had the chance to actually “drive” one before, however I had been on the back of many and was always watching the controls, wishing, wanting and hoping to own one someday. After completing the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, I purchased my first bike and loved it for 25,000 miles then someone had told me to purchase a copy of Lois on the Loose by  Lois Pryce. Her story of determination and passion for adventure on 2 wheels changed my life! I since have ridden a variety of motorcycles, 25 US states as well as Australia, Nicaragua, Peru, Canada and Mexico.  As I traverse this world I meet people from all walks of life, and if I am lucky they ride motorcycles too…I am inspired by their stories and their journey… Here is a collection of some of the amazing souls i have been blessed to encounter… For the Love of 2 Wheels: My personal inspirations from around the globe.     Want to hear yourself on our show?
