In light of the current shelter-in-place situation we find ourselves in here in the Bay Area, we decided to postpone this weeks Session with True Symmetry Brewing, and instead have cut together a few clips from past shows. This week on The Session, we welcome Bale Breaker Brewing Company from Yakima, Washington.Crafting fresh-off-the-farm brews from the middle of a hop field, Bale Breaker is a family-owned brewery located in the Yakima Valley. Backed by four generations of hop farming experience, Bale Breaker started in 2013, and has grown to become the fifth largest independent craft brewery in Washington.Hops are in the family's DNA: the great-grandparents of sibling-owners Meghann Quinn, Kevin "Smitty" Smith, and Patrick Smith first planted hops in the Yakima Valley in 1932, the year before Prohibition ended. We love lagers on The Session, and would probably sell Doc and Tasty in a package deal for a keg of really great Helles. Lucky for us, Jace Marti from August Schell Brewing came out to the studio to hand-deliver their fantastic line of lager beers.  Schell's is the second-oldest family-owned brewery in the country - founded in 1860, they have survived hard times, prohibition, a changing beer scene, and through it all learned how to reinvent themselves ... all while producing solid lager beer.
