Show Summary Candace and Jenny play Confetti Like Praise and find themselves backpedaling from the most awefulsome and awkward unintentional conversation. Won’t He Do It! finds Jenny and Candace celebrating a review and listener that inspires us all to laugh our butts off! Candace walks us through the differences between joy and happiness. Matthew 5:2-12 (The Passion Translation) shows us a glimpse into Jesus’ greatest joy sermon from the famous sermon on the mount. Candace describes the differences between gratification and satisfaction and how that affects our daily happiness and joy. Candace mentions three different scriptures to find hope and transform our thinking and consideration of the circumstances we face that attempt to destroy our joy: Philippians 4:8-9, James 1:2, and 2 Corinthians 10:5. Jenny speaks encouragement to a listener (maybe it could be you?) that is feeling anger more prevalent than joy. In the segment, You Said What?!, Jenny introduces us to a listener from Texas that struggles with feelings of needing to control the happiness of not only herself, but her family as well.  Candace and Jenny give some encouragement on how to manage those thoughts, expectations, and shut that should up. In He Said What?!, Candace discusses the “grin and bear it theology” verses real joy and how to develop consideration in seasons of conflict and opposition. Candace challenges us to see opposition as an opportunity for not only joy, but to be made perfect. In this episode of Shut The Should Up with Candace Payne + Jenny Randle, they discuss why you should rest. They talk about what it means to develop a rhythm of rest in a world that so often celebrates hustle and hurry. They intentionally look at what rest not only looks like, but the value that it adds to your daily and eternal life. If you took action after listening to this episode and want to share as Candace and Jenny encourage you to do within the show, give us a call and you may be featured on an upcoming episode. Call (315) 308-0163 to become a part of the show! What are we shutting up? The "I should hustle mentality" that's produced from a desire to keep up with the pace of the world around us. Show Summary Jenny reveals a life long struggle:  she is not a master rester. She also reveals health struggles that stemmed from weariness and led to a physical move as a family from New York to Florida. Jenny shares how a simple prayer would point to a change from hustling to developing a rhythm of rest. Candace and Jenny walk through what the Bible says about practical and physical rest vs. spiritual rest. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Candace challenges us to think about what it means for our souls to be settled. Jenny and Candace say the word “sabbath” about a million times.  So, ya know.  That’s fun to listen to. Hebrews 4:9-10 says, “There still remains a place of rest, a true Sabbath, for the people of God  because those who enter into salvation’s rest lay down their labors in the same way that God entered into a Sabbath rest from His.”  Candace and Jenny speak to following the example God gives by keeping a day of rest...and how that sustains and refuels us for the days we must hustle harder than others. Jenny shares this quote from Timothy Keller that nearly set Candace dancing around the room with a church hankie:  “The Sabbath gives us both theological and practical help in managing one of our primary resources: our time.” Candace challenges us to stop and pray to develop a rhythm of rest. Listener, Jackie, calls in a shares her struggle to find time alone with God. Candace and Jenny weigh in on what they do personally to make those moments a priority to find rest. In this episode of Shut The Should Up with Candace Payne + Jenny Randle, they discuss why you should have said something. They talk about their polar opposite experiences on when you should and shouldn't speak up. Though their experiences are different, they both agree that your voice is valuable and shouldn't be diminished because of fear, weariness, shame or pain. So, prayerfully filter what you have to say through Scripture, and watch as God empowers you to speak life to others. Plus stay tuned for a sneak peek of next week’s episode and a cool little gadget you should think about buying! If you took action after listening to this episode and encouraged someone, give us a call and you may be featured on an upcoming show. Call (315) 308-0163 to become a part of the show! What are we shutting up? The "I should stay quiet" that's produced from insecurity or shame and the unhealthy excuses we use to justify our silence. Show Summary Jenny shares about a relationship that diminished her voice in her 20s. She didn’t make connections at her dream job because she didn’t find value in her voice. But God did a work in her. And now she helps other women find their voice too. You should filter what you say through love (Ephesians 4:2). Candace shares a moment with a loved one and felt conviction about the things she could have said. Brynn from Tennessee calls and reminds us that we have a voice. Sometimes our voices are hiding behind shame. Shame doesn’t define who we are. It's the opposite of conviction. The Holy Spirit convictions, corrects and leads us into all truth. Conviction is never meant to harm us but to work things out for our good. Whether it’s in navigating conflict or encouragement with relationships, there is freedom in knowing that we have a voice and should speak up. The more you understand the message of the Gospel, the stronger your voice can grow. When Jesus becomes the center of your life, you’ll grow in intimacy with Him and find out who you are. Scripture reminds us that what we say matters. Your words kill, give life and filters into our actions.
