This week, I had the honor of sitting down with an Australian doctor who is shaking things up in her industry by talking publicly about the mental health and wellbeing of doctors.
Dana shares with us about her first year working as a doctor and how she was surprised by the extreme overwhelm and lack of support that she experienced. She was right out of medical school and when she sought help, it was suggested to her that she seek counseling privately (off record) in fear that she might lose her job.
The more she dug into the topic, the more she learned that there was an underlying problem in the medical community that had to be addressed. There were many junior and senior doctors who were secretly struggling and there was nowhere to turn.
In our powerful conversation, you will learn more about Dana’s advocacy through her podcast, Junior Doctor’s Corner, and hear her honest answers about the fine balance between a patient’s and a doctor's health.
