It’s 1996: cell phones are a fantasy, JNCO jeans are in style, and there are monsters in the American wilds. In the town of Revenant, Alaska—just north of the Arctic circle and just south of the nation’s most untamed national park—three women from wildly different walks of life must come together in the face of monstrous beasts, unsavory politicians, and their own dangerous secrets in order to unite their community and discover the truth about a magic that just might save them all. Let’s play Monster of the Week!
Zoë learns the truth about herself with some help from her father. Martha learns some truths about vampires with some help from Hawk. Moriah finally gets some gosh darn sleep, and wakes up to the sinking sensation that they're all in over their heads.
The team manages, against all odds and terrible time management skills, to get back together--and to start putting the pieces together as well. But as usual, the information they have only leads to more questions
Look, we're not entirely sure what's happening in this episode. Martha commits some light identity theft, if that appeals to you? Siobhan leads the world's most weirdly tense nature walk? Also, vampires? You should probably just listen.
Chasing her natural suspicions, Siobhan begins to investigate a lead she may or may not actually have--but when has that stopped her before? With some help from Moriah and an unsettling vision from Martha, the pieces begin to click into place. The resulting picture isn't pretty. And hey, incidentally...what's up with Zoë?
Change comes quickly to Revenant following the conclusion of the Big Magic, and our heroes look forward to the peace and quiet promised by the changing weather as the park closes and the tourist season ends.
The lines between anguished memory and tentative reality continue to blur as our heroes navigate the vulnerable spaces their friends have buried deep in the shocking finale to our longest arc yet! [*PLEASE CHECK CONTENT WARNINGS FOR THIS EPISODE*]
Reeling from yet another emotional blow, Siobhan struggles to keep it together long enough to lead the gang to a satisfactory resolution. They show up on Hawk's doorstep with something approximating a plan but really, is it ever that easy?
Moriah makes a surprising discovery, which leads to a sudden and grave epiphany regarding the situation in the woods. The team tries to figure out how to begin to counteract a power they're only just beginning to understand.
Siobhan's actions start to catch up to her. Zoë wields her own reputation in a moment of judgment, and the consequences are less than straightforward. Meanwhile Moriah's friends on the net come through with valuable information--but will it be enough to act on? Do the Hunters have any other choice?
The past begins to collapse in on our heroes in varied and unexpected ways--for better and for worse. Moriah and Isabelle accept reparations in the form of a deeply personal gift. Martha recovers a lost memory with staggering implications, and Siobhan receives a tip-off about a very unwelcome return.
As our thoughts are drawn inevitably back to the past, Siobhan reckons with the course of her career and her relationship with the park director. In the present day, things get unexpectedly shaken up as a strange and sudden phenomenon knocks everyone in town off-balance.
