Friends, God wants you to stop resisting the "wait" - to stop resisting the difficulty that He has allowed in your life. Waiting on marriage, waiting on babies, waiting on a dream - patience can be one of the most challenging traits to live out in a Christian life. But God desires for us to wait, just as He asked Joshua to wait.  If you are in the thick of the waiting, if you are suffering, if you are frustrated or disappointed, the mess is a means to an end - and that end is Jesus. God's story is the best story; let Him write it for you.

It's time to create a new narrative around motherhood. Motherhood - in light of the Gospel - is a beautiful gift, but our society can often become fixated on the "hard", instead of the purpose behind the hard. On today's episode, Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler from the popular ministry, Risen Motherhood, discuss what it looks like to stay the course and to fight for hope in the challenging moments of motherhood. They share encouragement for parenting littles as well as children ages 9+ and how scripture guides us through it all. Emily and Laura also share their heart behind their beautiful and encouraging new book: Gospel Hope for Everyday Moments.  ____________________________________________ Order their Book Here!: Gospel Hope for Everyday Moments ____________________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe! Nobody likes an honest mirror. It tells the whole truth and shows every flaw. The Bible is a metaphorical mirror into the state of our hearts. When we open our hearts and pray for God to examine us, we are shown that our desires and fears often stem from selfish motives or a place of distrust.  On today's episode, Delaney Woodward discusses how God is refining her personally, what it means to be searched and how we can use our discomfort and fear for His glory.  Book Reference: Anonymous by Alicia Chole  Scripture References: Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Sex and singleness don't typically go together in a conversation - especially in Christian circles. However, we as women were ALL created as sexual beings. We may battle with desire, lust or simply wanting to be noticed by the opposite sex (which sometimes means dressing a little bit more provocatively.) On this episode, Bethany and Lindsey discuss modesty, sexuality, practical ways to battle the desire to be married in a season of singleness and how to honor Jesus in it all.  ____________________________________________ Follow along with Bethany and GirlDefined Ministries: Bethany Instagram GirlDefined Instagram GirlDefined Website ______________________________________________ Books Mentioned: Sex, Purity and The Longings of a Girl's Heart Love Defined

On today's episode, we are discussing complaining and ingratitude, and how the deeper heart issue behind it all is sometimes believing that God is withholding good from us.  Ingratitude and complaining go hand-in-hand and it all goes back to our belief in who God is. Lindsey and Amaris unpack what scripture says about grumbling and how we can battle it in our day-to-day lives. ________________________________________ A huge thank you to our sponsor: Reload Love! It's easy to love our spouses when they do things the way that we expect them to and to love people who are just like us. But unconditional love, vulnerability and humility are characteristics that challenge that concept and push us to live more like Jesus.  On today's episode, Lenya Heitzig addresses our desire to be known, seen and fully accepted. Your GPA doesn’t define you. Your beauty doesn’t define you. Your success doesn’t define you. And the truth is - you won't ever be enough. But He is enough and that is what gives us hope, peace and joy. On today’s episode, Lindsey dives into a few things that she wishes she would have learned and implemented into her own life a long time ago. She discusses topics like: Being kind to the ‘weird’ or different people in your path, living for an audience of one, fear of people’s opinions and asking the question, “How far is too far?” when it comes to sin. ________________________________________ Mentioned Verses: 1 Timothy 4:12 - “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and purity.” 1 Samuel 15:24 - "I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice." Proverbs 29:25 - “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” Romans 6:1-3 - “What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?” 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "In Christ I am a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." Romans 1:16 - "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes..." Luke 9:62 - "But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.”  __________________________________________ And a huge thank you to this episode's sponsor: Fab Fit Fun  Get your seasonal box filled with incredible, full-sized items from stores like Anthropologie, Free People and more for $10 OFF with our code MHPOD at fabfitfun.com!  __________________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe and follow along with us on Instagram! We all have those hilarious first kiss stories, those awkward dates and high school crushes that we sometimes just want to forget. On today's episode, Amaris and Lindsey address how to follow God's voice in dating and what biblical pursuit looks like in a relationship. They share both funny and messy dating stories, how they originally fell in love with their husbands and also how Nick and Jesse proposed.  Also, we did have some technical difficulties when recording this episode (Lindsey's son changed her mic settings without her knowing), and we second guessed if we should publish it or not. But sometimes, things like this happen in real life, and we need to have grace on ourselves! We enjoyed the conversations and know you will too, but please forgive us for the sound quality and know that it isn’t the norm for the Milk and Honey Podcast. __________________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe! On iOs, go to our iTunes page and click “Subscribe”. Words are a powerful thing. They give us the power to heal and the power to hurt. The power to give hope and the power to discourage. The power to build up and the power to tear down. There is no marriage, family, or friendship that isn’t either made stronger or made weaker by how you choose and use your words. On today's episode, we are sharing how you can offer life-giving words to the people in your life while remaining aware of the damage that our tongue can cause.  __________________________________________ References: Colossians 4:6, "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person." The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell." 1 Thess. 5:11, "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." _________________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe! On today's episode, Lindsey and Amaris are discussing "heart rot". We often do our best to appear as if we have it all together when our lives are rotting away from the inside out. But God is faithful to cut off the dead and the rotting waste that fills our lives and to re-plant a new heart and spirit within us - to give us a NEW, better, more fulfilling life. If you feel your heart tinge a little bit as you listen to this episode, we hope you don't turn us off. These conversations aren't always easy, but the most difficult ones are often the most life-giving.  _____________________________________________ Resources and References Mentioned:  Book: More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell James 2:19 - You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Do you offer your husband your leftover energy, leftover joy and leftover love after a day spent serving others? Proverbs 14:1 says, A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman pulls it down with her own hands." As a woman, as a wife and as a mom, we have the power to build up or tear down our homes and our husbands.   On today's episode, Jennie Lusko, wife of Pastor Levi Lusko, talks about the hardship of marriage after tragically losing their precious 5-year-old daughter, Lenya. She discusses what their quiet time looks like together, how she builds her home as well as the boundaries she has created to ensure that she has enough left for her husband, even at the end of the busiest day.  _______________________________________________ If you enjoyed this episode, you might also like: Episode 10: Sex and Intimacy  Episode 07: The One Thing Guaranteed to End All Marriages with Meg Wallace Episode 14: How to Be a Safe Wife For Your Husband with Nick Beecher Episode 05: Stop Fighting, Start Understanding: Accepting Differences in Your Spouse ___________________________________________ References and Resources: Ephesians 5:22-23 1 Corinthians 7:2-6 Mark 10:6-9 Titus 2:3-5 Blog Post:  Keeping Relationships Fun: Living Side-by-Side Blog Post: Marriage and Pleasure Actually DO Go Together Blog Post: How to Know If You’re Loving Your Wife Well _____________________________________________ Jennie's Book Recommendation: What It's Like To Be Married To Me by Linda Dillow ______________________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe! Singleness can be a challenging, lonely & confusing road for those who desire to be married. On today's episode, Chantel Byrne and Lindsey discuss the many lies that the Enemy can fill our minds with in seasons of loneliness. Have you made marriage a qualification for a happy and meaningful life? Sometimes God, in His gentle, quiet voice, speaks the words . . . "my precious daughter, wait" and it isn't always easy to be obedient to that calling. We want to encourage you to pursue a relationship with Jesus above pursuing a husband. We also share vulnerably about the mistakes that we made in our own dating lives.   "For your Maker is your husband - the Lord Almighty is His name, the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth." Nobody gets married thinking, “I hope this fails and ends in divorce.” And yet, 50% of married couples actually end in divorce. It’s heartbreaking and shocking. Over time, wedges can make their way into our marriages if each spouse does not play their role in fostering love and truth. One way that marriages are breaking down is through the door of pornography. The Bible says to even look at a woman with lust in your eyes is to commit adultery in your heart. So, how do we protect our marriages from adultery and porn? How do we guard the love between us and our spouses? On this episode, Amaris is joined by her husband Nick and they are sharing how husbands and wives can intentionally guard their marriage from porn. __________________________________ Episode Mentions:   “The Lure of Porn and 3 Ways Christians Can Rise Up on Respond” - Amaris Beecher   “How Porn Hurts a Consumer’s Partner” - Fight the New Drug ________________________________ To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please SUBSCRIBE!On iOs, go to our iTunes page and click “Subscribe”. On today's episode, I am sharing the secret to having never paid for a flight in 7 years of marriage, tips for staying in an AirBnB for no cost at all and how to honor God with your time while on vacation.  "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." - 1 Corinthians 10:31 I (Lindsey) absolutely love to travel and I like to do so as often as I can. However, it can get really pricey. We want to honor God in the small things (such as traveling) so we have found some tips and tricks that help us to stay out of debt while we travel and essentially go on vacation for next-to-nothing!  I have written a blog post discussing these tips in detail and included all links!   You are capable of finding sweetness in even the most challenging and stressful moments of motherhood. In this episode, Amaris and Lindsey interview their friend Phylicia Masonheimer, and discuss the cultural phenomenon of ‘failure-centric parenting’ and why we, as Christian women, should avoid it at all costs. Phylicia shares practical tips on how you can take charge of your own home to maximize your joy in the day-to-day, rather than counting down the minutes until bedtime. You were called to thrive in your motherhood - and nothing less. That’s the Gospel in action, to live out a lifestyle of victory over hardship, and to honor and celebrate those that the Lord has given us: our sweet babies.   ___________________________________________________   To stay up-to-date on the latest encouragement, hope, and laughter geared toward every woman in every season of life, please subscribe! We are all looking for something to mark us. We share our good deeds, we wear Jesus and Coffee T-shirts, we have little fish bumper stickers on our cars and we talk about our children’s achievements.  But here's the truth: The one thing that will TRULY mark you is not how many bible verses we can recite nor how great our kid is at sports or math. Instead, it is the way that we love one another, specifically in the same way that God has loved us. Our hope with this episode is that it will be a reminder of the importance of being a friend, family member and spouse who shows up for the people in your life.  We will discuss: 1. Showing Up 2. Listening Without Talking 3. Keeping "Ourselves" Out of Their Pain 4. Challenging Gossip 5. Carrying One Another's Burdens "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
