Are your excuses holding you back? How many times have you said or heard someone say “I would love to do that but I don’t have the time” or “No, I don’t have the experience to get started.” This list goes on and on, but it’s the same lies that we tell ourselves but in reality, they're just excuses. This is a special edition of The CEO Teacher® Podcast that is needed so much in a time like this. This episode is for any teacher, teacherpreneur or anyone who is in your life that could have been affected by Covid-19. In this time of uncertainty and craziness, we are in this together. We have been given one of the most valuable things right now and that is time itself. But if your family has been impacted by this, this episode is for you. I interviewed a great friend of mine, Casey Graham, the owner of Gravy Solutions. We have partnered with Gravy Solutions over the past year and they help us with our customer retention in our course and memberships. Casey Graham is the co-founder and CEO of Gravy, the leading failed payment recovery and customer retention solution for companies with recurring revenue. He recently kicked off Gravycast after previously inspiring a wide audience through The Seven Figure CEO podcast, the first and only podcast to interview leaders of companies over seven figures about breaking through business growth barriers. Prior to launching Gravy, Casey is known for founding the Rocket Company, an organization that helped church leaders scale their financial leadership and fundraising. The company grew quickly from 2008 to 2015 and was on the INC 5,000 list three years in a row. In late 2015 a capital venture group approached Casey to acquire the Rocket Company, and in February, 2016 the company sold. Casey's passion for entrepreneurship and bold vision for leadership are the driving force behind his energetic and engaging presence, both on and off the stage. If I know anything about building an online business, it’s that you must take action now to gain clarity later. In today’s episode, we’re going to jump into all the reasons why you need to get started right now.
So, if I could go back in time and do it all over again... what would I change? Would I change some things about my teacherpreneur journey? The answer is yes! Well, the list might be a mile long, but I've narrowed it down to three things that I wish I would have done at the beginning of my teacherpreneur journey.
If you’ve ever thought about starting and building an online community, then today’s episode is for you. Being a part of a community has been an important part of my life personally and professionally and when I started my online business, I knew that I needed a place online where I could be apart of a community that got me. I can’t wait to share all of my tips about why you need an online community and how you can start one today!
In today’s podcast episode, I have the pleasure of interviewing Mikayla Storey and this podcast interview is unlike any I’ve done before but in the best way possible! I’m so excited for you to hear the journey of Ascend Smarter Invention and how Mikayla Storey and Corey Pollard got their brick and mortar business started with no business background at all. Ascend Smarter Intervention started a few years ago as a brick & mortar business and has since evolved into an online business as well. We have an Educational Private Practice that serves struggling students, primarily those with dyslexia and other related learning disabilities. We developed a program for these students that has created massive results and wanted to share it with other teachers, interventionists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. That's when our online business was born. We started with a Reading Intervention Curriculum and training program and it has now expanded to include a 5 Core Components of Literacy Membership Site, our Delivering SMARTER Intervention Curriculum and Training Course, a course for parents going through the special education process, and our Summer Side Hustle program that teaches teachers how to start a brick and mortar business running summer reading groups & provides them with done-for-you materials. When the Private Practice opened, Corey Pollard, our founder and owner, did not have a business background. When I joined the team and we launched our online business, neither of us had business, marketing, or technology backgrounds. Our backgrounds were in psychology, research, and education. We believe so much that teachers & other educators don't need business backgrounds in order to create a business (either a side hustle while in the classroom, or as a full-time business) that shares their gifts with other educators, and in turn, kids. A mission of ours is to help teachers "take back their power" and create a life they love. In this episode, you will learn: How Mikayla and Corey created a business with no business background How to connect with all the stakeholders when working as a support to students How the private practice translated to an online business What to keep as your main thing when you’re just getting started Why taking imperfect action brings clarity Links Mentioned: Three Tips to Get Started Building a Successful Business Connect with Mikayla and Corey: Ascend Smarter Invention Website Connect with them on: Instagram Facebook Pinterest Youtube TpT DOWNLOAD MY 10 STEP GUIDE TO SELLING YOUR TEACHING RESOURCES HERE! I have a feeling if the title of this podcast caught your attention, you've dealt with copycats a time or two. They see what you are doing, take your hard work, replicate it and then claim it as their own. It's unfair, frustrating and can sometimes make us question everything. What if I told you there was another way to deal with them though? A way that keeps you positively moving forward instead of dwelling on the negativity.
Are you still unclear about what that one thing is that will set you apart? Look, I totally get it. It can be confusing and frustrating when you aren't quite sure what it is that you want to be known for in your space. While it is beneficial to niche down in an industry, it's also important to choose an area that lights you up and brings you joy because that undoubtedly will have an impact on your content, your customers and you.
What if I told you that your life could be easier than ever before? What if I said that all of this chaos that’s going on right now could be rectified by changing the way that you’re viewing everything?

Do you struggle to say no? Saying no isn’t something that we are accustomed to do naturally, but everytime you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else. Everytime I say yes to something or someone, I’m saying no to my family or to my “me time.” Even though it may feel uncomfortable to say no, the happiness you will feel is so much better. Saying no makes room for yes in our lives. It helps us get what we need to accomplish and not what we want to accomplish. In today’s episode, I will be talking about the power of no and why it’s so important to really think before we immediately say yes. If you struggle with saying no or you feel like you are always the “yes person,” this episode is for you! In this episode, you will learn: The importance of saying no in your life What saying yes to something all the time will mean in your life How to make room for all the “yeses” in your life by saying no A new strategy to try anytime someone asks you to do something How to remove the apologies that might follow your “no” Links Mentioned Say No Checklist Download my 10 Step Guide to Selling Your Teaching Resources HERE! . I knew if I wanted to see massive results in my business that I had to be intentional with my execution of each and every step working towards that goal. This, unfortunately, is where a lot of people go wrong. They set the goals, but do not take action towards them. Without a plan, without taking measurable steps, it's very hard to hold ourselves accountable because we have nothing in place to see how far we've come.

I had the pleasure of meeting Colin Boyd at the Kajabi Summit in California where we got to share the stage and talk about our love and our passion for transforming people's lives. In today's episode, Colin is going to teach you how to confidently get on stage or your platform, maybe turn on your camera for your own webinar and gain confidence when speaking.
Finding out how to best serve your audience is vital. However, many people aren't sure how to do this and gain quality feedback. Today I'm giving you 5 quick tips about surveying your audience and getting results that will move your business forward.
Most people fall into two categories...they love Facebook because it's what they've known or absolutely hate Facebook. I get you-I was there too! I didn't like Facebook at one point either, but I knew my mindset needed to change. I knew that Facebook was important for my business, Facebook was necessary, and this may surprise you...but Facebook is still king.
I was invited to be on a panel at the Kajabi Summit and let me tell you... it completely blew my mind. Not only was I able to learn from and connect with some of the most influential people in the online marketing industry, but I also had to step out of my comfort zone and believe that I belong in that space too...and guess what? You belong there too.
“I’ve created an epic opt-in that my audience will love, but I have no idea how to get it to them!” Sound familiar? Today’s Friday Quickie is all about generating leads and how to get your opt-in in the hands of your audience. I discuss Leadpages and why you should be using it to build your business.
For the longest time, Rick Mulready was my best kept secret. Seriously! I never told anyone about him. He has completely changed the game for me when it comes to marketing and I want that for you too. Rick is a wealth of knowledge for all things Facebook advertisements and I truly am so excited for him to share what he knows with you today.
Mel Abraham taught me some powerful stuff last week. How do you get noticed in a world of full people who are presumably just like you? In today's episode, I'm talking all about standing out in the online world and becoming a thought leader of your industry.
Today’s podcast is super vulnerable, but it is an important piece to my puzzle and it would be wrong of me to leave it out. You see, this is a place I don’t often like to visit, but I know that someone needs to hear this.
It wasn’t always like this. I fell into the darkest moments of my life after my second pregnancy. I was a child raising children. I was lost and holding on for dear life. I quit eating, sleeping and went through life in a boring routine.
Mind mapping has changed and revolutionized the way I create my business. When building this business, I bought all the courses, listened to all the podcasts and was constantly absorbing information. I had a million ideas swimming around in my head, but I needed a way to organize all of the valuable information I’ve learned. I was struggling to find balance and needed a solution. Mind mapping has been a game changer and today I’m spilling all my secrets and letting you in on my mind mapping process. In this episode you will learn: The materials I use to mind map. How a timeline drives your mind map. How to break down projects into digestible pieces. Go-Getter Resources: Download my 10 Step Guide to Selling Your Teaching Resources HERE! Some of you may think you don’t need this and that’s where I get stuck. Sure, there are outliers in every situation in life.
