April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, and this week, in episode 6 of #DontMentionIt, I speak with Kalimah Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of the Sasha Center in Detroit. SASHA stands for, "Sexual Assault Services for Holistic Healing and Awareness." We talk about Kalimah's path to founding the Sasha Center, holistic healing, and why creating this space for African-American women, with shared cultural experience from the Detroit area to heal together from the trauma of sexual assault is so important.

Links to support the Sasha Center are in the show notes below.

*Note: Toward the end of the interview, the audio quality suffers some issues, but I chose to leave it all in, because you can make out what Kalimah is saying, and it is all important to hear. Also, I have a very sore throat for the intro and signoff. Thank you for understanding.*
