Welcome to the weekly audio Podcast from Joel Osteen. Joel and Victoria Osteen are pastors of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, a vibrant and diverse church that Forbes calls the largest and fastest - growing congregation in America.
The Bible states, “let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us” (Hebrews 12:1). If you want to stay on the best path for your life, when you get up every day, ask yourself, “Am I honoring God in the decisions that I’m making? Am I setting right priorities every single day?” These will realign and refocus you. You have to evaluate your life and be willing to change. You will never get away from temptations and distractions, but with God’s help, you can overcome them!
Your time is too valuable to spend it around people who sow discord. Don't let seeds of discontentment take root. If you'll stay on the high road, God will help you become all that you were created to be.
As long as we live, we have to protect our heart against offenses. Unfair things happen, and people let us down and say things that hurt our feelings. These offenses try to take up residency in our heart, and if they do, they produce resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness. Proverbs 17:9 says, “He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love.” You have to cover that offense. You have to forgive. It doesn’t belong to you. It is only yours to forgive and to cover.
God has prepared promises for us, but sometimes we don't see them because we aren’t calling them in. Pay attention to what you are declaring. You have to call in the victory, the healing, the abundance.
You may be going through some difficult times right now, but hear this loud and clear. God says you are also blessed and highly favored. He has chosen you and put a seed of promise in you and given you an assignment that you need to protect.
Your will is one of the most powerful things you have. When you make up your mind that you’re going to do something and take the steps to do everything you can, God will breathe on your efforts and give you strength that goes beyond your natural ability.
Most people have the desire to do something great in their lives. Truly, God wants to do something great in our lives as well. I find it interesting that God wants to partner with us. Scripture says that we are joint heirs in Jesus Christ. He wants to do something, but He also wants us to do something, too.
You have to be protective of the thoughts you allow to dwell in your mind. We may not be able to stop thoughts of worry, guilt or bitterness, but we can keep them from stealing our joy. If you will empty out the negative, there's no limit to what God can do in your life.
So many people focus on what they don't have instead of what they do have. We have to remember to take a step back and look at all the wonderful blessings that surround us! Don't let little imperfections steal your joy and rob the beauty of the moments God has given.
You don’t have to live with sickness, addiction or oppression. God wants to heal you! Make the switch from wondering if it is His will for you to be healthy and whole to believing that He wants to bless you. Your attitude should be, “God, I receive Your healing. I know You carried this sickness so I don’t have to.”
Take a journey through the Scriptures and see how God had sudden blessings that instantly changed lives. You’ll be inspired to have faith again for the goodness of God in your life to exceed your expectations! We think ordinary, but God thinks extraordinary. What He has planned for you is bigger, more rewarding, more fulfilling than you’ve dreamed. Paul said in Ephesians 3:20, “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think.” God wants to do a new thing in you this year! It’s time to believe again.
The Bible says that there is a commanded blessing where there is unity. The first place to start is with our families and then that unity will radiate into other areas of our lives. If you want the commanded blessing God has promised for you, the key is to keep the bond of peace.
There are times in all of our lives when God will ask us to step out in faith. We don't understand it. We can't see how a situation is going to work out, but in the midst of not knowing, we can decide to trust Him. These times are necessary in order for our faith to be matured. Being comfortable in the unknown is a powerful act of trust.
In Scripture, Jesus told us to address God as "Father." As believers, being children of God is one of our greatest privileges. As children of God, we can be confident when we approach Him, knowing that we are fully loved and accepted by Him.
One of the greatest feelings in life happens when we are helping other people. God gave us an internal reward system because we are intended to motivate and help each other. That's the healthy way to live.
The Bible says that patience is one of the main tools by which God develops maturity in us. No one enjoys seasons of waiting, but these times are appointed by God to make sure that we have character to sustain what He has for us on the other side. Be encouraged that God is at work in you even in times of waiting.
Be an extravagant giver of what you have. Have the mentality that says, “I’m never empty-handed. I always have something to offer!” And watch God take your little and feed a multitude. That’s extravagant giving!
It’s easy to judge others, but beneath the dirt, the mess and the bad decisions, there is a son or a daughter of the Most High God. God is counting on us to represent His love and redemption to those in need. They may be bound on the outside, but like Lazarus, on the inside they’re a person of destiny. They just need someone to help remove the grave clothes. Will you be that person? Take time to make a difference in the lives of those who desperately need it. As you live life as a healer, lifter and a restorer, the seeds you sow will come back to you. You will rise higher and overcome your own obstacles!
Live on this freedom - God loves you unconditionally. He doesn't need you to put a filter on your life. God loves you just the way you are. Paul asked the question in Romans 8, "What can separate us from the love of Christ?" Nothing. Nothing can separate us from Christ's love! Amen
Many people today live overworked on the outside with no inner peace on the inside. It’s easy to want to fix things on our own, but Joel wants to show you that you don’t have to live life doing things in your own strength. This message will teach you how to have an outer rest and an inner rest as you let God work in your life and fight your battles. As you learn to live from a place of rest, you will enjoy your life more and experience greater peace and power!
The Bible says the spirit of the man sustains the man. When you utter words of faith and victory, it goes straight into your spirit, and it charges your physical body. Words are powerful. Words are containers of power.
We all face seasons and situations in life that feel like they are going to disqualify us from our destiny or derail our purpose. In these times, it is so important to stir our faith and to remember that we are still going to get to our promised destination. We might be facing a detour, but it wasn't a surprise to God. He sees you exactly where you are and is working behind the scenes to bring you out better than you were before.
Have you ever observed the process of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly? It is amazing to see an insect that was once limited to the ground suddenly be able to fly through the air. How does this happen? Through a time of struggle and hiddenness. In the same way, although you might feel like you are in the dark right now, you are being transformed. Your wings are coming!
God has been working on your behalf for generations. As you step into favor like you've never seen before, remember it is the Lord your God that's causing you to increase. He's the one that's giving you the power to live an abundant, victorious life. You're about to step into opportunities, good breaks, promotion because of those who went before you!
At times it may feel like the storm around you is going to overwhelm you, like you are unequipped to face what lies ahead of you? In this message, be encouraged that God has designed you to withstand whatever might be surrounding you. Your circumstances are not a surprise to God, you are equipped with everything you need through Jesus!
During times of discouragement, when it seems like you are at the mercy of your circumstances, know that God always has the final say. Whatever you are facing, you can live with confidence knowing that God has you in the palm of His hand. The battle belongs to Him!
If a good seed that is full of potential isn’t planted in good soil, it’s not going to become what it was created to be. In the same way, you are a seed full of gifts, talents and potential, and you need healthy soil to bloom into everything God has created you to be. In this message, learn the importance and power of protecting your seed by choosing the right environment, friendships and mindsets. As you keep your environment healthy, you will flourish and become everything God has created you to be!
Many times, we feel that we are powerless to change our attitude. We think that it is simply our personality to be uptight, bitter, or depressed. But God’s Word says that we can choose to put on a new attitude! In this message, learn how to shift your outlook and begin to approach life with a God-attitude.
Expectation is the breeding ground for God to do the impossible in our lives. Have you started expecting lack, mediocrity, and struggle? Begin to shift your perspective and expect to see the miraculous in your life. Expectation is not just positive thinking, expectation is our faith being put into action!
When something is exceptional, it means that it is better than good; it is outstanding. The exceptional stands out from the crowd, is extraordinary, and is something to be celebrated. You were made by God to be exceptional.
Do you have dreams in your life that you have buried, so to speak? Maybe your dream was to be free from addiction, to have a healthy marriage, or to fulfill your God-given purpose, but you thought it was impossible so you stopped believing. The good news is that God is a God who brings dead things back to life. Be encouraged through this message to begin believing for your dreams again!
Two blind men heard that Jesus was passing by and cried out, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” (Matthew 20:30), and Jesus stopped in His tracks, called them, and looked them right in their faces. They couldn’t see Him, but I bet they could feel His compassion as He touched their eyes and healed them.
God has given us resources, our jobs, our families, our relationships, but we cannot mistake the resources from the Source. God is our Source and His supply never runs short. We can live free from the pressure of people pleasing, confident in the assurance that God will supply all of our needs according to Christ Jesus.
And that’s exactly what you and I need to speak in the midst of the pressures of life. Our words can send us in the direction of God. We serve a positive God who spoke life and light into a dark and void situation and created this world. And He has given us the privilege to do the same—to speak into our situations, to begin to prophesy our future, to direct our life where it needs to go so that we can obtain the miracles that He has for us.
God has given us promises in His Word--promises of healing, freedom, and wholeness. But what do we do before we have received them? In this message, learn about how to stand firm in your faith while you wait to see the fullness of God's promises come to pass in your life.
We recently celebrated the resurrection of Jesus in an Easter service, and now I want to encourage you to not just celebrate His resurrection but live the resurrection life He came to give us. How do we live this resurrection life? We have to take hold of everything Jesus has given us through His death and resurrection. He took your sin and shame, everything that would ever try to come on you, and He paid your debt in full. “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west” (Psalm 103:12). We don’t have to walk in guilt and condemnation. We are free to go and live the resurrection life.
God has ordered your steps. Your life is divinely orchestrated. Let Joel teach you how to keep moving forward even when you don’t understand. Stay in faith when people betray you. Do the right thing when the wrong thing is happening. Your time is coming. What God has ordained will come to pass! No person, situation, or thing can stop what God has ordained for your life!
Would you describe yourself as partially free or abundantly free? In this message, be encouraged to stand firm in the freedom that Jesus died for you to have. Hold onto that promise by faith, begin to get in agreement with God. You do not have to settle for partial freedom--abundant freedom is yours in Jesus.
God was increasing them incrementally throughout their journey. God wants to increase us, but oftentimes we overlook the small things because we want to go big. Remember, a majestic oak tree starts with a small seed.
Are you in a challenging time facing a sickness, heartbreak, or discouragement? In this message, you will be encouraged that not only will God bring you out, but He will bring you out better. You are not going to be overcome by your circumstances, but you are going to be an overcomer.
When I looked up the synonyms of “a peacemaker,” it states “a diplomat, an arbitrator, a mediator, a calmer, a soother, a go-between.” It reads like the characteristics of Jesus, doesn’t it? It’s the attitude that He walked in while He was on this earth. He made peace for us so that we can make peace for others. We can be reconcilers of peace. We have to walk with the heart of a peacemaker.
Did you know that God has given you the power to remain in peace even in challenging circumstances? The key to protecting your peace is choosing to trust God at all times. Regardless of what you may be facing, God's peace is available today.
Did you know that the words you speak hold power? What you speak over your life has the ability to increase God's favor, joy, and peace in your life. In this message, learn how to begin to declare over yourself what God is declaring over you.
I was reminded that when God brought the Israelites out from their oppressive captivity in Babylon that He promised they would “go out in joy and be led forth in peace” (Isaiah 55:12). He was showing us that if we’re going to come out of dark places like she was in, if we’re going to stand under the trials of life, we have to come out with joy and walk in peace. We have to use joy to deliver us from anxious thoughts, defeat and discouragement. Joy is the key, and it’s inside us.
All throughout the Scriptures, we read about people whose lives were marked by God's favor. His favor took them farther and caused them to accomplish abundantly more than they could have asked or think. This same favor is available to you today, begin to expect to see God's hand of favor on your life.
God is asking us, “Do you recognize the new thing I’m doing in your life?” He is saying, “Don’t wait to have faith when the situation takes care of itself because I’m doing some new things right now. Look for it! Watch and see what I will do. It is a new thing!”
You have to put in the big rocks of your life first if you’re going to be successful. And one of the big rocks that would benefit all of us is spending time with God. Our “God rock” should be the first rock. The Scripture says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:6). If you want God to direct your paths, if you want Him to crown your efforts with success, He says, “Put Me first.”
Ephesians 1:5 tells us that God has adopted us into His own family. Because you’ve been adopted, you’re going to come into blessings that you didn’t deserve and favor that you didn’t work for. You can let go of the limits today! It’s time to step into the family of God and be covered in His favor, goodness and power.
Remember, you “are God’s masterpiece” (Ephesians 2:10). You are a masterpiece in His eyes! He’s already qualified you, and He’s left nothing out of you. Keep His voice clear and free from the debris of life. Spend your life well and make it count. Our great God has put so many amazing things in you, and He “has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” How you live your life really matters!
God sometimes works behind the scenes in our lives, but there are other times when the work that He does is a public display of His goodness. When these seasons come, the people around you are going to see the goodness, the power, and the glory of God displayed through your life. Like a seed finally springing up from the soil, you are coming into a time where people are going to see what God has been doing in your life.
If we’re going to create the life that we want to live with our family, we have to keep the tone of a winner. We’re going to celebrate in the good times, and we’re going to keep that winning spirit in the difficult times. I believe that if we will maintain that consistent tone, we’re going to have a great life not only for ourselves but for our families!
In this message, Joel explains that 2019 is the year of taking new ground. The hang-ups, strongholds, and inherited dysfunctions are coming to an end this year. You are moving into a new place of freedom, power, and peace.
Have you ever felt like God's presence was distant, like you could not access Him? In this message, Jonathan tells us the password for accessing God's presence and the key for living from a place of peace.
Encourage your family, encourage your children, encourage your coworkers, encourage your boss, encourage your pastor. Ask God to give you someone today to encourage in a meaningful and profound way. Let’s push back the darkness with encouragement every day!
In this message, Victoria will teach on what are good works through Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2 says, "we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works." We are God's handiwork. He is making us. He is molding us. God has created us to do good works. God is working through us in our good works. What is a good work? When we're patient. When we choose joy. When we choose peace. When we're serving others. Within those good works God is working something in us.
In this message, Joel reminds you that you have been strategically designed and equipped by God to accomplish the purpose you were created for. You can be confident that God has made you fully loaded for your destiny.
