Welcome back to The Power of Storytelling! Soulaima, Jesmane, and Julie - thank you for sharing your stories, your words, and your journey with all of us. This month’s episode reminded me that there is so much more to who we are, to our identity, then what society attaches to it. Often, our greatest journey is deciding our own identity, reclaiming it, and making it our own. We are the fabric we choose to be, and it’s up to us to weave our own path, our own perceptions, and our own journey towards our joy. Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! On the podcast this week is Kathryn Schiff - Intuitive Healer, Psychic, and Intuitive Healing Teacher. I am so excited about this conversation - the third in my series of featuring healers in my life who have been so instrumental on my journey. I first learned about Kathryn and her work after listening to her on the Den Talks Podcast. It was the first time I had ever listened to that podcast (but now I’m totally hooked!) and 45 minutes into tuning in I knew, without a doubt, that I needed to book a session with Kathryn. I’m not usually one to act that quickly when it comes to booking a session - I like to feel it out (sometimes over a period of months!) - but with Kathryn, I just knew. I had a session with her later that week, and it was magic and transformative. Through our work together she’s helped me align more deeply with my path, she’s taught me how to energetically ground myself and remove people, places, and things from my space, and above all else - she’s helped me remember just how beautiful and profound this journey is. Fast forward a year later (almost to the day!) I have the opportunity to share this beautiful, profound, and deep conversation with you all - and I’m so excited about it! In this week’s new episode we chat all about ... - Kathryn's work as an intuitive healer, her journey connecting to her psychic skills and abilities, and the healing process of owning and connecting to our intuitive space. - Energy work - grounding in our own energy and removing other people's energy from our space, and energy work as a co-creative process. Distinguishing compassion from empathy, releasing blocks and limiting beliefs to step into our growth and power, and the role of past lifetimes in our growth and healing. - Plus, Kathryn shares the main message our spirit guides want us to know, her biggest dream, and so much more! For more information on this week's episode visit www.seekthejoypodcast.com/show-notes  To learn more about Kathryn, her sessions, and her work as an Intuitive Teacher check out her website http://kathrynschiff.com and you can find her on Instagram @kathrynschiff Plus, the online version of the Basic Intuitive Healing Program will be available on her website on September 1st! Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! I’m back this week with a solo episode chatting all about growth and evolution - and really stepping into it - and worthiness, and recognizing that we are enough. I have been so present and aware in the growth, change, and evolution that’s been taking place over the last 6-7 months, both within myself and around me. It’s a little trippy when you tap into this awareness within - and over the weekend I couldn’t stop thinking about awareness, and the ever present need to relax into my trust, growth and worthiness. We all carry this element of awareness within ourselves, and when we tap into - it’s exactly the thing that brings about greater healing. So this week - trust more deeply, and speak more fully the truths that are asking to be spoken. Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! I'm back this week with a solo episode chatting all about our NEW cover art (!!!), what inspirations, reflections, and understandings came from picking my journaling practice up after 6 months of creating conscious distance between myself, and my self-work. I read straight from my journal (cue the nerves! This is a new level of vulnerability for me), and share my reflections surrounding the connection between self-preservation and self-love. The message - you can fully step forward in who you are, and embody it, no mater the circumstance, the environment, or situation that you might find yourself in. You are still the essence of who you are, no matter what mountain you're facing. Plus, I share a fun announcement for what's coming this summer (three e-books! Eeep!!) and I'm just so excited to share this episode with you.  Loved this episode or our new cover art!? Passion or Perfectionism? I heard something really profound and fascinating last week that resonated with me. It went something like this: your work ethic, strive for perfectionism, your desire to do well and to do right - it can make you great, but it can also be what breaks you. Don’t let it be what breaks you. When we’re running on passion, purpose and joy - it excites us and motivates us in a way that propels us forward. Perfectionism, on the other hand, drains you, starves you and exhausts you. So I have a challenge for you this week - to identify the difference between passion and perfectionism in your life, and to consciously choose to not allow that desire for perfectionism to deplete you, and drain you of your joy.  I'd love for you to check out this episode and join the conversation! ✨✨ Instagram instagram.com/seekthejoypodcast Facebook fb.me/seekthejoypodcast Twitter twitter.com/seekthejoypod E-mail sydney@seekthejoypodcast.com Rate and Review Seek The Joy! Welcome back to The Power of Storytelling! Lacey, Leah and Pamela - thank you for sharing your stories, your words, and your journey with all of us.  This month’s episode reminded me that our journey is uniquely our own, and it’s up to us to choose what we aim for. Yes there will be setbacks, yes there will be moments of hardship, but we can choose to love, nurture, and empower ourselves through those moments and continue to chase our dreams. I’m so grateful for the reflections this month’s stories stirred in me, and I know the words and reflections that are shared in this month’s episode will resonate deeply with you too. Go with your flow! That’s my message for you this week in this mini-episode. After a short time away - moving through new transitions and new beginnings - I’m back! We’re always shifting, changing and (in my opinion) in a state of transition and a state of flux - because, today is going to look different than tomorrow, next week, next month and even next year. It’s pretty cool if you think about it - there are so many moving parts to our lives, and it’s about embracing them, going with OUR flow, and allowing ourselves to move with these transitions. Welcome back to The Power of Storytelling! Kelly, Nataleen and Jake - thank you for sharing your stories, your words, and your joy with all of us. This month’s episode reminded me of two things. One, that the stories we often tell ourselves aren’t true, and that if we have the courage to choose the stories and beliefs that align with our passion, path, and joy - anything is possible. Two, from every breakdown comes a breakthrough, and that there is a light out of every dark tunnel - if we only choose to see it. The I Am Journal is a beautiful manifestation journal that helps you transform your thoughts, raise your vibrational energy, deepen your spiritual journey, reprogram your subconscious mind and manifest with ease. So much has shifted and changed since this episode originally aired on December 26, 2017 - and it’s really wonderful to be able to sit down and re-listen to this episode and hear how much I’ve grown, how much we’ve grown as a show, since that time. Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! On the podcast this week is my friend, Katie Calder.  When I reimagined Seek The Joy Podcast back in July, I mentioned to you guys that I would start airing episodes I like to call “soul chats.” The plan was (and is!) for these conversation style episodes to feature some pretty incredible and amazing people in my life who have so much wisdom and magic to share. I'm so excited to bring you the first of these chats, this week with my good friend Katie Calder.  In this week’s conversation we chat about why Katie created @namaskayyy and the meaningful connections she's made, manifestation, numerology and the power of the 11-11-11 day we just had. We also share what it’s meant embodying who we are, choosing to feel, allowing ourselves to be more open with our spirituality, what has held us back, and allowing every part of who we are to blend instead of keeping things separate.. We also spend time chatting about trusting our intuition and using discernment, Katie pulls a card from her favorite deck, and SO much more! I’m so excited to bring you this conversation with Katie. She is someone that I deeply connect with, and I’m so grateful for her love and friendship. To learn more about this week's episode check out our show notes  To learn more about Katie and to connect with her follow her on Instagram @namaskayyy  I hope you will join us in supporting the California Firefighters battling the Camp Fire, Hill Fire and Woolsey Fire and getting people to safety. To join us in supporting these heroes and their families, please consider donating to California Fire Foundation here: http://cafirefoundation.org Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who are affected by these fires, who have been displaced, who have lost their homes and their sense of safety. What fuels you? What energizes you? What gets your engine moving? What is the motivation that gets you up in the morning? What is the fire that gets you to create, to play, to work, to be? What is the fuel that fuels your engine? Up until a conversation that I had yesterday, these questions weren’t something that I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about. The truth is, if it weren’t for this conversation I don’t know if I would have ever thought about this. In this week’s bonus episode I share what has been fueling my engine and what I’m now consciously choosing to fuel me instead. Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! This week's episode is a SOLO episode and I'm chatting all about showing up and being transparent. In order to talk about showing up - when it's hard, when it's difficult, when it's the last thing we want to do - we have to first talk about transparency.  No one always has it together and no one always knows what we're doing. The truth is - we're faking it until we make it and that's okay. When life gets tough, it's easy to look at someone else and what they're doing and say "ugh! Why is it so easy for them?! Why is life unfolding so effortlessly for them!?" When you're having a hard time, and you're looking at someone else, and you're thinking that it's flawless and beautiful and its all come easy to them - look at where you're at and how much you're putting into your dream. Look at where you're at and how much work you're putting into manifesting the reality that you want for yourself, because it's the same for them too.  A lot of things don't come easy, and that's okay - they're not supposed to. Because as you're working towards your goals and dreams, you're shaping and molding yourself into becoming the person that you're meant and supposed to be at the moment that those dreams and realities actualize.  To learn more about today's episode head over to the show notes section of our website seekthejoypodcast.com/show-notes/igotthis Did you hear? What if we were to take 10 seconds, just 10 seconds, to close our eyes and breathe?  What if we took those 10 seconds to breathe, more than just one time a day? And what if we made it a conscious part of our practice, and routine, to make sure that we breathe?  I'm learning and realizing that our breath is extremely tied to who we are, and our willingness to express who we are. In today’s bonus episode, I explore why we hold our breath and what it would really mean if we really let it out, instead of holding it in. OSEA was founded over 20 years ago by Melissa’s mother, Jenefer Palmer, and it was born out of the desire to create active, organic, and natural luxury skincare products free of toxic and synthetic ingredients that embody the core elements of wellness: ocean, sun, earth and atmosphere. This week's episode is one of those conversations where I lost track of time, and it's definitely one of my favorites by far. I loved getting to know Melissa and learning more about her journey and the OSEA story. Melissa is such a kind and inspiring woman and leader - and it's an honor to be her first podcast! We also had a wonderful conversation about confronting and pushing past moments of self-doubt, tapping back into Melissa's creativity, letting go of perfectionism, her self-care practice (and checklist!), and so much more. I'm back with another bonus episode and get ready for some #realtalk about thinking small and how doing so keeps us from feeling our joy. I also have a huge lightbulb moment during this recording and it's all about taking up space. Yup, it's pretty clear to me that in order to flip the script for yourself you have to be willing to take up space. Take up space in your life, take up space in someone else's life, take up space in the world. It's time we stop limiting ourselves and believing in who we are. It's about beginning to believe you ARE someone, you ARE important, and you DO have something to contribute.  To learn more about today's episode head over to the show notes section of the website seekthejoypodcast.com/show-notes/flipthescript  Until next week, ✨ #SeekTheJoy - hit SUBSCRIBE - and it would mean so much if you could give the podcast a rating and/or review on iTunes ✨ if you do, e-mail a screenshot of your review to sydney@seekthejoypodcast.com and we'll send you our brand NEW #SeekTheJoy Guide for Infusing More Joy into Your Life document! Get ready for a raw, vulnerable, and honest bonus episode all about fear of being vulnerable, self-love and where it's gone (seriously it's been a little MIA), and why we need to treat ourselves with more kindness and compassion. I've wanted to do more solo podcast episodes for months now, but I've had the hardest time sitting down and letting myself be more vulnerable. On today's episode I share why that's ok, how the ebb and flow is part of this journey, and how letting myself be vulnerable in this 15 minute episode changed the game for me.  I also chat about self-love and this misconception that it's a destination, or something that we achieve and once we get there that means we never have a bad day again. Self-love is something we put into practice daily, it's a journey and not a destination. Being human means we struggle, and it's our choice to love ourselves and be kind, compassionate, and patient. During today's episode I cry - and I almost cut that part out. I decided it was important for me to keep that moment in there. I'm going to continue to be honest, real, and vulnerable with all of you and so that means if I start to cry, I'm going to share it.  If you're having a hard time or struggling in some way, please know it doesn't mean you're doing life wrong. It doesn't mean that you're doing self-love wrong. It means you're doing it right. The ebb and flow is all part of the journey.  To learn more about today’s episode, head over to the show notes section of the website seekthejoypodcast.com/show-notes/selflove Until next week, ✨ #SeekTheJoy - hit SUBSCRIBE - and it would mean so much if you could give the podcast a rating and/or review on iTunes ✨ if you do, e-mail a screenshot of your review to sydney@seekthejoypodcast.com and we'll send you our brand NEW #SeekTheJoy Guide for Infusing More Joy into Your Life document! Happy #SeekTheJoy Tuesday! Today's episode is jam packed, and it's a good one. First you'll hear my conversation with Divya Nawale. Divya and I met last year in Denver, Colorado when we attended the Climate Reality Leadership Corps training with The Climate Reality Project. Then you'll hear from five Climate Reality Leaders who I also met in Denver - Andrea McGimsey, Karen Harrington, Linda Kraemer, Joanclair Richter, and Mayela Manasjan. It was so fun to catch-up with everyone and hear about what they’ve been up to in the last year!  I know the topic of climate change can be heated and at times alienating. To be honest, I was a little hesitant to include this episode, so I just want to say this. I really believe that climate change isn't a liberal or conversative issue. At its core, it's a human issue and a social justice issue. So no matter what side you're on, I hope you'll give today's episode a listen. Plus - today's episode isn't just about climate change!  On today’s episode we chat all about Divya’s passion for the environment, her self-love and joy journey, how she builds up her self-love muscles, and how it's important to treat ourselves with kindness and patience during moments of uncertainty. We also talk about her love of dance, how she stays grounded and true to who she is, and so much more.
