Hey everybody! We are back with another one of our favorite episodes! This is our final week of our three week break and we chose an episode from waaaay back to repeat! We thought that with the January approaching, money is a great thing to have a conversation about heading into the new year! We loved, loved, loved Smart Money, Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze, and for episode 18 (yes… one HUNDRED episodes ago!! Haha!!), it was one of our book club choices! If you haven’t listened to that episode (or if you haven’t read the book), listen in and hear about all that we learned. It’s also a great gift idea for moms and dads you may know (or yourself!). You can find the show notes to that episode here. And don’t forget, we are reading Little Women for our next book club! You have just under 2 weeks to cross the finish line!We will be back next week with our super special Christmas episode featuring our kiddos! Have a great week, mamas! Christmas is ALMOST HERE!!
Hey everybody! It’s great to be back with you again with another awesome episode! As you may know, we are taking a few weeks off in December and repeating some of our favorite episodes for you. This week, we chose to repeat episode 54, where we chatted with the amazing women of Bravery Magazine. We selected this episode because we love what Elyse and Ashley have created in Bravery Magazine and we wanted you to hear from them if you missed this episode when it first aired, AND because we think it’s a great idea for a Christmas gift for a little one in your life! The show notes for the original episode can be found here. And don’t forget to be reading Little Women! (You know, in all that holiday spare time! ;)) Many of you have maybe already read it, or you can choose to listen to it! Either way, we’ll be discussing what we’ve learned from Marmie soon. AND, we’ll be letting you know about our Mommin’ Movie Meet Up December 27th to SEE the movie together! Details to come…. Hope you are ALL UP in all things holiday right now and enjoying family and friends and this beautiful season. Have a great week, mamas!
Hey everybody! And Happy December! It is the beginning of busy time of year, and we are excited to bring you today’s episode! Last year, we took a bit of a break in podcasts during December, and this year we are doing that again! So for the next three weeks, we will be repeating some of our favorite episodes. Today’s episode is a Christmas repeat from two years ago - all about Santa, gifts, and stockings! You can find ALL the show notes to the original episode here!If you remember this episode, but haven’t caught up on all of our episodes, now is a great time to be binge listening! We have 115 episodes to choose from! Woohoo! And don’t forget to be reading (or listening to) Little Women with us! We will be discussing this on our December 30th episode, buuuuuut on December 27th, we are planning a “Mommin’ Movie Meet Up”! If you’re in town, plan to join us at the AMC Thoroughbred Theatre in Franklin (Cool Springs area) to watch the brand new Little Women movie! We are so excited about this! Have a great week, mamas!
Hey everybody! Happy Thanksgiving!! It is Thanksgiving week - how is that possible??! As moms, we are all too familiar with how quickly time continues to pass. Hopefully, this week, we will all be able to sloooow down and give deliberate attention to those things for which we are incredibly thankful. We would love to know the things that make you feel #blessed!! Obviously, we are all so thankful for family, friends, church, our homes, careers… but what are some other things that make you stop and truly feel full of gratitude? We would love to hear from you!!For us two, we are thankful for longtime friends. We’ve mentioned our supper club before, and just a week ago, we got away for 48 hours for the very. first. time. ever! Literally, this supper club has been going for about 9 years, and this was the first girls trip! So what better than to bring our podcast gear along and record a conversation! Not all of the girl gang was present at the point at which we hit record, but we love that we get to introduce you to some of our (hashtag)tribe. 😂 And no, Nathan was not along for that part. We hit record all by ourselves and it worked! This direction of this conversation was maybe a bit planned out, but that was for our safety AND yours. Haha! We just want to encourage you to find co-mom-unity. Find it! It’s not magical, it takes work, even some conflict, and it takes stick-to-it-iveness. Invite some friends over for food, coffee, a book club, whatever! Just do it however feels comfortable for you. We can not live in isolation, especially as moms. It may even feel awkward at first, but keep on! It’s worth it. If you need some ideas or encouragement, or have any questions, post them below! We would LOVE to help you find community where you are. From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:Leslie is totally into Slip Silk Pillowcase, but since Jennifer has talked about this, she also brought Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer Pencil to the table.Emily is totally into Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset Tea. She is loving The Bible Project, Don’t Mom Alone, and The Briefing. And don’t forget our next Book Club pick- Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. It’s a beautiful choice and fun read for over the holidays! Have a great week, mamas! HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We are so thankful for you!!
Hey mamas! We can’t believe we are more than halfway into November! That means TWO things: One, the holidays are right around the corner, and two, the New Year is right behind them! We love January around here, and the hope and excitement that comes with a new year - new vision, new goals, organizing, all the fun things! One thing that has been at the top of Jennifer’s goal list for 2020 is getting her pictures organized, backed up, and ready to begin making albums! And with that, we have a super awesome guest on today’s episode to help us all with just that! Our sweet friend, Kate, has been a guest on the show before! She chatted with us on episode 46, where we discussed the book, All You Need to Know About Raising Girls. And she’s back this time with all her expertise on PHOTOS! This can be an overwhelming project for a lot of us moms, both in getting started and in maintaining! She explains all the things we need to know about photo storage, external hard drives, “the cloud,” and albums. Annnnnd, she has an amazing ebook she created that you can find here, and has graciously given Mommin’ listeners a code for 25% off! This book is 61 pages, chock full of all the good information we talked about (and MORE), and the discount code you can use is MAE25. (That makes it $5.24!!! You literally cannot beat that.) If you purchase her ebook, you will also get access to a private Facebook group for ebook readers where you can ask questions and post ideas. She will also be offering a “book club” after the start of the year to slowly go through each section as a group. Jennifer will be in this group, so stay tuned for more details!Kate also mentioned in this episode that she has created a bundle of five photo presets to enhance your photos and make them stunning! You just need the Lightroom CC app and you can purchase them here AND use MAE25 again for 25% off of them as well! What?!?!She also mentioned her favorite external hard drive is the WD 2TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive. The Samsung T5 is the other one she mentioned on the episode and felt it was a bit too expensive right now.Kate is available for free consultations at any time at this link. She offers a host of services including backing up and organizing photos to a hard drive, uploading them to a cloud of choice such as Amazon or Google, putting all of your photos into one place (including extracting them off old hard drives, DVDs, etc), and deleting duplicates). This service is available for both local and remote customers. You can also find her on her website and Instagram. From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:Kate is totally into Art for Kids Hub - a fantastic dad and son YouTube channel with tutorials for drawing!Courtney is totally into old “Baby Nathan” videos. We’ve had a great response from you - you have learned so much with us! This week is our Book Club week! We are so excited about today’s book and hope you have had a chance to read it with us. It is Invited: The Power of Hospitality in an Age of Loneliness by Leslie Verner. And guess what? She is WITH US today! YESSSS!! We had some technical hilarity happening in the basement, which you might pick up on, but the discussion with her was still so, so good. We really, really loved this book so much and loved having her words and inspiration so fresh in our minds as we head into the holidays. She paints beautiful pictures of her time living in China for five years and other countries, and explains what she has come to learn from experiencing hospitality in other countries and cultures. We connected with her as we read it, seeing our own selves in her shoes, but were also inspired and even challenged. We cannot say enough how much we loved it, can you tell?!From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:Leslie is totally into trying out sleep apps. Well, Jennifer has learned a really good thing or two from her “appliance guy,” and we decided to have him on the show! We PROMISE you that you will learn at least five things about your appliances that you didn’t know! With that said, we’d like to introduce you to our friend Phil from New Life Appliance Repair.
