Check it out here: https://www.patreon.com/loulombardi    Let's talk about lyrics! Every one loves to sing along with their rock and metal songs, but how often do we stop and really THINK about the words that we are singing along with? In this series we discuss meanings behind the classic rock & metal songs that we love to sing to our steering wheels. On our maiden voyage we dig into a classic rock and prog rock classic. "Tom Sawyer" is arguably Rush's crowning moment. It's unique song structure, chord progression, melody and interplay between drums, bass guitars and synthesizers is only matched by it's cinematic and metaphoric lyrical content. But what the hell is it about?Topics Include: -Max Webster's Pye Dubois "Louis the Warrior" or "Louie the Lawyer"-Freedom and rebellion i.e. "Freewill"-celebrating the individual i.e. Ayn Rand

John Vento is often called a chameleon in the Pittsburgh music scene; and, while his critics may use the term as a pejorative, Vento views it as a compliment. He understands that they’re motivated by the frustration of their inability to lock him into a specific musical style. After all, the front man for the high-energy, hard-rockin’ bands, The Businessmen, and the Nied’s Hotel Band, is also known for his introspective, brooding solo recordings. Rather than a drawback, however, Vento considers such diversity to be among his strengths; and his fans agree. They relish sharing his tumultuous trek toward achieving his artistic vision, which he accomplishes by channeling a blend of eclectic influences through his own, raw emotions. Helping to engineer the roller coaster ride is a stout core of colaborators, including John Randall Fox, Buddy Hall, Tim Hadley, and Frank Ferraro, along with renowned playwright/lyricist, Amy Hartman. Many members of this crew have been with him for more than a decade; and it’s easy to understand why, as Vento consistently showers them with appreciation and accolades. Though a one-of-a-kind performer, he professes a great distaste for the word, “solo,” insisting that, “Without my collaborators, I would not have accomplished anything.” That’s no surprise to those who know him, as he truly is a humble, loving, and grateful person, who treasures his family and friends. Certainly, that comes across, loud and clear, in his honest, from-the-heart songs; and that, undoubtedly, is another quality which endears him to his fans. As he puts it, “If just one person is touched in some small way by one of my songs, that’s the greatest reward that I could receive.” Of course, it’s purely logical that Vento would find a great following in this town. His steely resistance to categorization is the very essence and backbone of Pittsburgh. Built by a veritable melting pot of blue-collar workers, the once-gritty city has risen from the slag heap, through the smoke and haze, to become a sparkling, spectacular hub of culture and learning. Yet, it remains true to its deeply-forged identity. John’s 2019 MTS release is “Love, Lust and Other Wreckage.” His single, “Rainbows And Lightning” reached the Top 20 on iTunes Canada charts, receiving national and international airplay and charting. John is a January 2019 Billboard Magazine Emerging Artist.PRESS KIT: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10iOvRzKfk54bCkbs6FSIGkhI8zcEum8H www.johnvento.comhttps://www.facebook.com/johnventomusichttps://twitter.com/JventoMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y65K1Hu2uik

His dynamic tunes burst with color to match his equally vivacious personality. Driven by impassioned vocals and nuanced guitar compositions, his scintillating and introspective lyrics illuminate the importance of building lasting relationships, fostering healthy communication, and finding beauty in the mundane. Inspired by great pop icons such as Prince, Ed Sheeran, and John Mayer, Stout melds modern pop sensibilities with a colorful vintage vibe to craft a sound that's sure to keep you grooving. After just a few short months performing around the New York City area, Stout opened for Allen Stone along with Caleb Hawley in a sold-out show at Brooklyn Bowl in November 2017, with plenty of gigs and festivals played since. Go to http://LouLombardiMusic.com/InnerCircle to find out how you can be a part of our LIVE online audience and get access to exclusive music and video! Brady Novotny started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Determined to be a world class guitarist, he left his first guitar lesson with his instructor telling him basically to give it up now. Thus he was introduced to criticism and disappointment early in his endeavor. Nevertheless, Brady heard a guitar player that would motivate him to push all that aside and re-energrize his passion to continue; that guitar player was Randy Rhoads. Brady soon fell in love with classical and melodic guitar playing. Brady practiced restlessly learning everything from classical pieces, melodic and virtuosic solos from 80's guitar heroes, to jazz fusion. Brady loved the guitar, and truly, that has been his passion. He attended Berklee College of Music for a little time. At the age of 19, he was asked to teach summer guitar workshop at Duquesne University. As life often happens, however, Brady got burned out and went back to school and received his masters in Psychology. Yep, that's right -- Psychology. But the passion is back and stronger than ever, plus it never hurts to have some money!Brady set out to do an instrumental project that would have his listeners singing the haunting melodies while holding their attention by uniquely placed guitar virtuosity and dynamic rhythms creating a fusion of rock, flamenco, and jazz. His love for a variety of musical styles led him to study under many teachers in his life. Brady started out playing Classical guitar at the age of 10. Ever since then, Brady has had a strong affection for nylon string guitar sound. Ultimately, this led him to study Flamenco guitar. He immediately fell in love with the passion, virtuosity and rhythm of this style. The shred of the 80’s was one of his main influences and guilty pleasures, while Jazz was a big influence on Brady’s chordal choices and song color. Brady has a wide range of experience in the music business. His experience ranges from the Pittsburgh rock scene to national tours. He has worked as a Pittsburgh session guitarist, Worship leader, and guitarist at several mega churches. He has also taught guitar at clinics and universities. His 2019 release with MTS Management Group/MTS Records is “Passions Collide” featuring the lead single, “Redemption’s Cry.” The song, featuring a hauntingly beautiful vocal from Brady’s wife, Jennifer, is currently charting on the Airplay Today national radio charts.Links: www.bradynovotny.comwww.facebook.com/bradynovotnymusicwww.instagram.com/bradynovotnyofficalwww.twitter.com/bradyanovotnyhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQMG6bjBHNLH2uxumRx1IyQ PRESS KIT: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1S6Ig54_MTtD-dwjrOIixGWCM_hpd9_Zt

The Kansas City, Missouri resident began writing songs in his early teens. He played all through his school years, but then he stopped...Life took over. Bill went about getting married, building a business career, and raising his children. After his kids graduated from school and started their careers, Bill picked up the guitar again and began trying to rekindle his love of music. “Inspiration for my music comes from a variety of the many parts of my life,” Bill says. “Events and experiences of mine, my family, my friends, and sometimes even people I have never met all, contribute to the creativity of my music. I find it interesting and rewarding to let my imagination wander through the memory and spirit of life events and see where it takes me.”Bill is a pure "lyrics-first" writer...a bit of a storyteller. “I feel the story and lyrics talk to me and tell me what the rest of the song is supposed to sound like,” he says. His last album, 2017’s “Find A Way” reached #5 on the Roots Music Report Traditional Folk Album chart, and the single, “Goodbye Will Never Come Again” reached #1 on the singles chart.Bill’s latest collection of songs, “Crossing Willow Creek” is available now, with first single, “Cry Wolf” hitting radio airwaves around the globe. The single reached the iTunes Top 100 Rock Songs chart, while hitting the Top 5 on New Music Weekly’s country chart. Bill is also a December 2018 Billboard Magazine Emerging Artist.“Sometimes life is good to you and gives you a second chance. In my youth I walked away from music for a myriad of personal reasons. Now, I've now been given a second chance to pursue this thing we love called music, and I am really enjoying the ride!”Links: PRESS KIT: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1vfana_wKW6xcnz6hm1mrlaJ1Xg-xeIS1 https://www.billabernathy.com/crossing-willow-creekhttps://www.facebook.com/billabernathymusic/https://twitter.com/bill_abernathy

Go to http://LouLombardiMusic.com/InnerCircle to find out how you can be a part of our LIVE online audience and get access to exclusive music and video! My latest work came together in the form of an EP. I’ve written a lot of material over the last couple years and rather than creating a double album, I’ve chosen to release a series of EPs for this project. We recorded the first EP, Faded Photographs, at my studio in Marin County and explored my current cultivation of songs with a new philosophy and an unfamiliar methodology. I brought most of the songs in fresh so everyone worked on them with a first instinct kind of prospective. For me, Faded Photographsreveals a metamorphosis in my writing. An evolution of looking back on the last 10 years of my life, letting go, and moving on. Like many of my lyrics, the album reflects on harder times with hope for greater days ahead. “Come Down”, the single off the record expresses that exact sentiment. It’s an introspective song looking back on days when my addictions were out of control and holding on to how I currently feel today in more healthy lifestyle. Participating in the light as opposed to checking out into darkness. We had a ball making this album with an amazing collection of hearts that resulted in a record I am very proud of. My line up has changed over the years but our mission remains the same. To spread love through the art of music and hopefully give people the emotional responses we all share and find in the music we love the most.   Links: * Facebook https://www.facebook.com/gobyocean/ * Twitter https://twitter.com/GoByOcean * Instagram https://www.instagram.com/gobyocean/ * Website http://gobyocean.com/

The band’s singer-drummer-songwriter VolK is a dark conduit for paranormal activity and channels his explorations in this realm into his band’s tribal and occultist thrashings. Connors freshly weaves a view of emotion and experience; lyrical branches wound densely in and out of darkness and diffused light. His own raw and vulnerable sound journey can do any listener a great service. And if you've ever feel the limb snap, it may just be his dry wit. From his teen years, drifting the fringes of various NYU independent music festivals and on to places such as CBGB's, Greg's path led him to Atlanta, Georgia, creating deliberate vibrations at such local favorites as the 40 Watt Club, in Athens, and the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, and then back to NYC again, with various stops along the way Greg is making music currently in metro NYC. He has awakened audiences for the likes of John Mayer, Joseph Arthur, Cat Power, Smoke, Songs; Ohia, Palace Brothers, Joan as Police Woman and Vic Chesnutt. In 2006 Scared Records released Greg's 5th Studio album,"Here, There and Anymore", Produced by friend and studio wizard, Joseph Arthur. Recorded with Bass player and recording engineer, Scott Fragala, Connors' 9th studio album, "Home Made Compass" will be available on March, 3rd 2018. Taylor and the Apes are based in NYC and have developed a loyal following and a reputation for their superb songwriting and dynamic, raw, exciting live shows. Led by singer/guitarist Taylor Elliott, the Apes have developed a unique sound, influenced by every decade of rock n' roll's existence: '50's doo wop harmonies, thick Rhodes/Hammond keys of the '60's, '70's grand guitar solos, the big drum sounds of the '80's, the '90's guitar crunch, all wrapped together with current, yet timeless lyrics. Elliott's singing is direct, yet humble; and he sounds somewhere between Paul Westerberg and Tom Petty. After a busy year and gathering an every-growing fan base, the apes have just released their debut album, american livin'.Links: https://taylorandtheapes.comhttps://www.facebook.com/taylorandtheapes/

As a lifelong seeker of truth, Kevin Bianchi has spent his entire musical career embracing and wrestling with the mystery of life and love in song. This has been exemplified by his time as the lead singer and songwriter for the indie rock band, the Chestertons. Having achieved regional success with the single 'Coast Road' and dynamic performances opening for artists such as James McCartney, he now begins a new journey with the formation of Vanishing Shores. "The need to reach out and connect with those around us has never been greater," states Bianchi. It is this realization that inspires and informs each song by Vanishing Shores. From the opening of 'In Between' to the closing notes of 'Blurred' on their self-titled EP, the listener is invited to become a part of the story, not as a stranger but as a fellow traveler who is loved and accepted. The answers may not be found. Everything known may collapse at any moment, but 'even still, I won't let you go.' This promise, in all of its emotional complexity, is the true vision of Vanishing Shores. Influenced by diverse artists such as Neil Finn and Elvis Costello, Vanishing Shores is not 'business as usual' but a band that pursues beauty wherever it may lead. Just like their musical inspirations, Vanishing Shores strive to deliver passionate, well-crafted rock and roll in each and every performance. As the band continues to develop, each song points to a future that is filled with limitless potential, founded on the power of music and the community it creates.Links: https://vanishingshores.com/

Drawing from Austin Wasielewski's (guitars, vocals) familiarity of psychedelic/acid rock, rap, R&B, folk/Americana, the sound is brought together by Tred Litely (drums, vocals) pop-punk, funk, indie-rock, math rock and fusion pulls, while Ryan D. Lee (bass) is a master of all things 80s, 90s and present. Together their lyrics seek to address the turmoil we experience every day by virtue of living in a modern world, but specifically a modern world so torn up by connecting troves of people who still feel disconnected. Meeting at the community based rehearsal space Music City in San Francisco, the trio immediately found a musical connection. Their upcoming EP which pays homage to the place that brought them together is out this Fall. Taken from their upcoming record, the band will have you head over heels after first listen. Until very recently, the different members of this ensemble cast were working separately, settling with projects only half-fulfilling the addiction that they all shared. It was only when their lives started overlapping did they realize they would eventually come together to handcraft a sonic, melodic miasma of songs spanning over two full length albums. At the heart of Frantic Romantic is a love for a 90’s culture that's been swept away with yesteryear. It's that unknown band you hear in a rundown back alley venue. It's that album you pick up at the record store and spin on the car ride home—uninterrupted. That’s the culture Frantic Romantic longs for and the community they breathe life back into. Love Stallion storms the music scene with original glamorous hard rock, sure to get your heart racing and ears pounding. Power riffs, memorable hooks, and electric flash capture the nostalgia of years gone by, bringing a fresh punch of rock & roll back to the universe in proper style. Love Stallion began as an experiment; a spur of the moment co-write of the song "Big Rock Radio" by Aaron Hart & Crayton Huntly (aka Rob McLemore) outside a concert hall in the fall of 2013. Inspired by the "big rock" sound of the 70s & 80s, rockstars David Lee Roth & Freddie Mercury, and bands like Van Halen, Kiss, and Def Leppard, the duo enlisted the help of industry pros Dr Scott Martin & Kate Emerich, "Aaron Hart w/ Crayton Huntly" played their first show May 1st, 2015 at The Walnut Room Denver to a small crowd of friends. As the crowd grew, so did the flash & flare of the live show. With the addition of Aero X (aka Aero Marquez) joining on bass, the band became recognized for their high energy live performance, flamboyant wardrobes of sequins, spandex and leather, and their signature Sexy Disco Legs. The first video single "Slow Release" was released in March of 2018. It stormed to #1 on the IndiMusicTV charts and reached #4 on the iTunes Canada rock charts! Love Stallion's 'Unforgettable Ride' was produced by Steve Avedis (Tony Bennett,*NSYNC) at Colorado Sound Studios and was released on June 2nd 2018. Growing up in Eastern Ontario (South of Ottawa), Canada, Cory M. Coons has been passionate about music since his early teen years, and he began learning guitar and bass, which led him to crafting his own melodies and musical ideas, while still in High School. Shortly after, he would begin travelling and performing in a variety of cover bands throughout the mid-to-late 90's, in both Ontario and the Southeastern United States. Now, Cory has just released a brand new melodic rock Cd/Album "The Long Road Home", in early 2018. It has been produced by Multi-Gold & Platinum veteran music producer, Ron Nevison, (Heart, Bad Company, Damn Yankees, Survivor, Styx, Night Ranger.) Additional tracking/overdubs, and driving force on guitar on the new record is guitarist/engineer Marc D. Muir. Cory was nominated at the "Producer's Choice Honors", (formerly Los Angeles Music Awards), in the "Rock Artist Of The Year" category for 2015. He was the the 2014 recipient of the Producer's Choice Honor for "Studio Album Of The Year," for his Independent E.p "Share A Little Time". The band is currently sharing their enticing new lyric video for "The Misprint," which has us head over heels immediately. Taken from their upcoming record "Pageant Wave," out later this year, this is the first glimpse we have into the world of Horsehead for 2018. Horsehead's Jon Brown of the group says of the track: “My brother and I used to take trips together; drinking vacations if you will. One of those trips was the inspiration for the song. It’s not autobiographical per se (it’s quite embellished) but we all are searching for something and screwing up along the way.” A little reminiscent of artists such as Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Jason Isbell, the group bring a unique and eclectic sound to the table that is very much their own. "The Misprint," dives in deep to the sound of the band with powerful instrumentation and honest lyricism that drives the track home. A little bit Country, a little bit Rock n' Roll, the group takes the reigns and heads into glory on the new track....our ears are eager for the upcoming record in tow. OVER A DECADE OF SPLITTING ATOMS, HORSEHEAD NOW SETS THEIR SITES ON ASSEMBLING THEM ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE LOW-END LAB COATS FILLED BY STEVE CHILES (TEST TUBES) AND RICKY TUBB (BEAKER FILLING), BUNSEN BURNER DUTIES FULFILLED BY KEVIN WADE INGE ALL WHILE JON BROWN SCRAWLS THE FORMULAS. MOST THINK TANKS CAN'T MAKE IT PAST 2 THEOREMS, YET HORSEHEAD IS PREPARING THEIR SIXTH DISPATCH. DANCE AND SING, BUT DON'T LET THE SQUIRRELS SEE YOU SMILE. A classically trained musician, James Lee Baker fuses influences from acoustic singer-songwriters like David Mead, Ellis Paul, John Gorka, Gregory Alan Isakov, Bob Dylan, and Slaid Cleaves. He embraces open tunings to create an unconventional but welcoming sound and timbre to his playing. Trained briefly by Richard Gilewitz, a renowned fingerstyle guitar player, James Lee’s fingerstyle guitar playing is rich and melodic, pulling listeners into memorable motifs and atmospheres. In 2017, Baker released a Texas-inspired full-length project called “Home Again.” Harnessing his experience in technology, Baker recruited talented studio session musicians, accessing performers from Los Angeles, Canada, The United Kingdom, and Denver. “Home Again” is a Country-flavored Americana album, rich with instrumentation like dobro, lap steel, fiddle, and harmonica. In March, he released an EP of Folk/Americana songs called The Canadian River. The single of the same title placed #23 on the FolkDJ radio charts in April of 2018, and the song “Two Cageless Birds” went on to be selected for the John O’Hara Songwriting Performance Grant. James has played at several prominent venues including the Whiskey A Go Go in Los Angeles, The Fox Theater in Boulder, and Swallow Hill and The Walnut Room in Denver.
