Kudos to the ABC producers who were forward-thinking enough to anticipate that the typical Bachelor viewing audience needed a place for all the budding musical artists of the world to congregate. It’s just a happy coincidence that this train wreck of a show was slated to air at a time when tigers are king and love is blind. This is — LISTEN TO YOUR HEART! It’s day question mark of sheltering in place and most of you have reached a point in this journey where cooking is no longer fun, love ones are no longer adorable, and the Netflix "to watch" list is running dangerously low. I am pretty lucky. I don’t cook, which means all I have to do is make sure there are enough cans of Pringles and Dr Pepper in the cupboard to last me for a few weeks. I also dove in head first to Schitt’s Creek and have at least a few more precious hours to spend with the Rose family before I have to binge something else. And, I have a pretty cool roommate who took time out of her busy, lawyering schedule to diligently research hot doctors in medical dramas. Never fear, dear listener. We have a list. And that list is long. This episode goes out to the tired nurses, the exhausted doctors, the weary EMT teams, the brave testing technicians, the relentless research scientists, the hard-working adiminstrative and janitorial staffs, and anyone else who works in the medical field. We love you. We lost an incredible entertainer this week. As Some Guy in Austin and I discuss, Kenny Rogers decorated our lives with music. He was a walking example of what excellent hair follicles look like and he knew how to grow a luscious beard. But above all, he taught us that knowing when to hold ’em and knowing when to fold ’em is a lesson we must all put into practice. May he rest in peace. We are back to celebrate another romantic comedy in our “It’s a Love Story” series, sponsored by my book conveniently titled, It’s a Love Story. You can find it wherever books are sold! Anytime I get Mama and my sister together, you know there’s going to be a bunch of laughing. Especially when you’re talking about a movie that has “dirty” in the title.  We are a family of dancers, so you can imagine when this movie’s trailer entered our lives, we were hooked. Dirty Dancing taught us to ignore all signs that read “no guests allowed.” We learned that dance moves sometimes tickle, the best place to practice lifts is in the water, and no one puts Baby in a corner.  But most importantly, we learned to always carry a watermelon. It could lead to great things.  LIKE JOHNNY CASTLE. EPISODE NOTES: Mama, Jamie, and I talked about the Sound of Music in our first joint podcast. Hilarity ensued. Here’s Mama’s favorite Dirty Dancing scene. The FINAL scene! Here’s Jamie’s favorite Dirty Dancing scene. The DIRTY scene! Here’s my favorite Dirty Dancing scene. The SHE HAS NO SPINE scene! We believe you should LISTEN TO THE SOUNDTRACK! So good. Did you know Jennifer Grey had a new nose? Please, please, please do not watch the TV remake. Instead, read about it HERE and thank me later for saving you from certain heartburn. SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription:

Well season 24 of The Bachelor has come to a close and Peter the Pilot found love, proposed to it, said JUST KIDDING, and waited for Chris Harrison to go fetch the real woman of his dreams so he could be friends with her for a while before deciding if he can break his mother’s heart by marrying this woman. Some Guy in Austin and I break down both nights of the finale, including a certain woman’s gumption, a certain woman’s will power, and a certain box fully dedicated to a certain woman’s facial expressions. Women Tell All is a strange phenomenon of a show. One might surmise that a DVR which touts 120-minuets of ladies sharing all the things is television just begging to be watched. One might be wrong.  The good news is that the producers set the bar really high with a theatrical rose ceremony worthy of our time. Is Madison going to join her fellow contestants at the Home Depot pillar? Or will she traipse off into the shire looking for lords and rings?  And then there’s the announcement of our new bachelorette and the rumbling of “who’s that girl?” that shook the inter webs. Allow me to help you out: The year was 2014. It was a simpler time back then. Coldplay and Goop made a conscious decision to uncouple. We finally learned how that guy met those kids’ mother. Adele Dazeem killed it at the Golden Globes singing “Let It Go.” And Clare Crawley crossed a freshly sprayed asphalt driveway as she walked toward bachelor Juan Pablo in a darling hot pink party dress. Gather that raccoons, ABC Intern. We’re in for a wild ride. And I couldn’t be more excited. EPISODE NOTES: If you’d like to read Peter’s Women Tell All recap, I’ve got it right HERE! First off, I’d like to make a correction. During Moments with Mama, which is at the very very end of all my bachelor podcasts, Mother on more than one occasion borrows the term Fantasy Land. Using contest clues she either means the fantasy suite date or the actual fantasy suite. At one point we get a Fantasy Island. I feel it’s necessary to disclaim that this recap is in no way affiliated with the Disney corporation or Ricardo Montalbán. It was past her bedtime and I think we should all agree just to roll with the flow. Like Hannah Ann seems to be doing. And Victoria. Madison? Not so much. Some Guy in Austin and I break down the conversations, the pauses, the tears, the voice infliction, the “likes” and all the idiosyncrasies of the episode.  Thank you for, like, joining us each week. It’s, like, our pleasure to like, bring you all of the, like, details of the like show. We like, love doing it.  It’s like super impore-ant y’all know that.  EPISODE NOTES: If you’d like to read Peter’s fantasy suites recap, I’ve got it right HERE! Not a whole heck of a lot happened during last night’s episode other than Natasha finally getting a one-on-one, Kelley stepping into annoying villain territory, and Peter finally getting his Band-Aid off his head wound. But that doesn’t stop Some Guy in Austin and I from discussing Peter’s final four. We dive deep and right before my VERY POPULAR “Moment with Mama” segment, we go off the rails on a tangent that involves a “concert” at a Fingers Furniture store here in Houston by a guy affectionately known on the IHGB website as He Who Must Not Be Named. I realized after editing that we never mentioned the artists’ name. I’d like for you to know that it was on purpose and I don’t intend on mentioning it now, either.  In fact, I’m pretty proud that we’ve kept this up an entire decade.  But you can read about that night below! Well, it’s week 5 of Peter the Pilot’s journey to find love and it is the length of the Super Bowl. Some Guy in Austin and I discuss the now infamous Cosmo date with Victoria F., Kelsey’s emotional health, and whether or not Peter contracted some sort of jungle disease in his head wound when he made out with Sydney under a waterfall. Well, it’s week 4 of Peter the Pilot’s journey to find love and it is a doozy.  Some Guy in Austin and I discuss the sheer coincidence that Victoria F’s former flame, country music star Chase Rice, just HAPPENED to be on her one-on-one date in a Cleveland-adjacent amusement park. What are the odds? Then we insert ourselves into the mutinous bandwagon, tossing up a few AMENS, as we debate how Peter should have handled Alayah’s return to the harem. Spoiler: He didn’t handle it well. Fasten your seatbelts. Your inflight entertainment is brought to you by the cello guy in front of the Cleveland courthouse! Admit it. Here we are at Week 2 of Peter the Pilot’s Bachelor journey to find love and we already have a gate. CHAMPAGNEGATE. It was the popped cork heard around the world and the unfortunate GIF of Kelsey that will never die.  This week Some Guy in Austin and I carefully choose our jet setters, first class upgrades, and the ones who need to check their emotional baggage.  I’d like to warn you that this episode is full of puns. As a former world famous jungle cruise skipper, I’d ask that you respect the craft. There’s also a lovely surprise at the very very very end if the show. I’m calling it: A Moment With Mama.  Fasten your seatbelts, people. We’re serving stolen champagne and it might get bumpy. Week 1 of Peter the Pilot’s Bachelor journey was jam packed, am I right? Not only did we witness some cringe-worthy icebreakers as a handful of women embarrassed themselves on the freshly-sprayed mansion driveway, but we had the privilege of witnessing Peter make out with half the cast during the cocktail party. Eight women were sent home on night one. Of these were all three flight attendants, a desperate woman with hairless cat photo and another with a diary cow named Ashley P. Never fear, dear reader. Anyone who displayed her boobs loud and proud, or showed even a hint of crazy was immediately gifted a long-stemmed red rose and a ticket to lay around a pool in her bikini for the foreseeable future. Also, Hannah Brown has returned. Some Guy in Austin and I discuss if this is a stunt driven by producers or if Hannah is suffering from FOMO. Now that she won the Dancing with the Stars mirror ball trophy, her 15 minutes of fame is dwindling and the only chance she has to remain the ABC darling is to romantically pursue her number three choice.  Will she stay? Will she go? Will the women find out that Peter is head-over-heels in love with this woman and therefore, forgo their chances to become social media influencers?  Fasten your seatbelts, people. The Beast is back. And she’s wielding her power at every turn. And at every windmill.  EPISODE NOTES: If you’d like to read Peter’s week 1 recap, I’ve got it right HERE! Hey everyone, We’ve got some fun news! I’m partnering with my new friends Amy and Scott over at Last Night’s Game to bring my listeners and readers our first ever Bachelor bracket!  When searching for a source that breaks down sports in an easy to understand way, Amy and Scott couldn’t find anything, so they created it. I love that about them! They give you short, sweet, entertaining sports content that is delivered via a triweekly email publication and weekly podcast. And according to them, finding love on TV is a sport, too.  I agree. The Bachelor is the Super Bowl of finding love.  Each week, Some Guy and I will cross our fingers and assign roses to the ladies who may have a future with our Bachelor. We would love for y’all to play along! And because we are so nice, we’ve recorded another episode about this season’s ladies to help you fill out your bracket. This one includes all of the dirt we received from official ABC bios and Our Host Chris Harrison’s insight. You can find bracket links (HERE), in the show notes below, or in my Instagram profile. Who knows? There may be some super cool prizes at the end of Peter’s journey to find love!  I’m talking about the end of our bracket journey — not Peter’s journey. I’m pretty sure our Bachelor’s super cool prize more than likely ends with a prescription for penicillin.  Follow along and GOOD LUCK! Picking favorite movies from the decade was a hive-inducing activity for my friend Todd. He had so many Oscar-nominated films to sift through and had a hard time painstakingly analyzing what deserved his recommendation for IHGB podcast listeners. I, on the other hand, had a much tougher job. Do you know how many musicals and sort-of-romances have hit the big screen since 2010? So many, my friends. So many. But I was able to narrow it down to ten. Ryan Gosling had a lot to do with my decision-making process. And Chris Pine. Although show runners haven’t officially included photos and bios of Peter’s pack of ladies on the ABC website, I decided to take matters into my own hands and do a little digging myself. I’ve been doing this for sixteen years. You people, my lovely readers, expect me to be in the know! Of course, I’m never in the know. I don’t like spoilers and I rarely choose the person standing across from the bachelor/bachelorette at the Home Depot proposal pedestal at the end of this amazing journey. But because I’m a professional and adore you, I did what anyone in my position would do. I stalked Instagram. Some Guy in Austin and I discuss all thirty-three women and give our recommendations on which lovely ladies should be in your office Bachelor bracket. To no one’s surprise, our selections are very different. He bases his picks on looks. I base mine on Instagram followers. I think my way is the best way. Then again, what do I know?! It’s my first holiday segment of our It’s a Love Story series and I’ll let you in on a little secret: Lara and I have been waiting to talk about this movie for YEARS. Way back in episode #4, we talked about our favorite big screen love stories and Lara wanted to feature The Holiday. I asked her to wait until December. Then not one but TWO Decembers rolled by and I forgot both times.  So here we are, giddy over the fact that we get to swoon over Jude Law and Jack Black. That’s right, I said Jack Black. Lara has a crush. Which is understandable and also lucky for me because that means I can have Mr. Napkin Head all to myself. The Holiday taught us that Santa Ana winds are magical and that we should befriend old spry Jewish men if at all possible. Additionally, when a drunken man bangs on the door of your holiday home exchange cottage, you should answer it. Don’t be afraid of the handsome, bespeckled man on the other side.  He’s a major weeper.

Hey everyone! I’m so glad you are tuning into this very important episode. There are several news stories that have wiggled their way into my subconscious, so I asked Some Guy in Austin to help me process through my emotions of what all this means to my life. We discuss Taylor Swift, the new bachelor Peter Webber, and of course, Kanye West. And if you want to know everything about this year’s Grammys, we have no idea who the nominees are and will be of no help anticipating if he/she/or they will win.  Our lack of knowledge is comical. It also makes us feel very old. Enjoy.  EPISODE NOTES: Here’s a list of all the Grammy nominees for this year. Interested in the Taylor Swift/Scooter Braun kerfuffle? Here’s a timeline of events that I found very interesting. Kanye West has a gospel album and you can preview it HERE. Bless Bachelor Peter Webber and his first promo. The end. I wanted to let those of you who live in or around the Houston area to know that I am going to be speaking at Bethel Church on December 5 for their women’s Christmas dinner. We are back to celebrate another romantic comedy in my “It’s a Love Story” series, sponsored by my book conveniently titled, “It’s a love story.” This is our ELEVENTH romcom, which is so awesome. And I don’t plan on retiring the series anytime soon.  In this episode, comedian extraordinaire Kerri Pomarolli and I discuss the 1986 cult classic Pretty in Pink. This movie taught us that we should learn to sew, and how your earrings don’t have to match, and that flirting on a Commodore 64 is endearing. It taught us that Jon Cryer lip syncing Otis Redding withstands the test of time. And most importantly, we learn that there are candy machines in the girls’ bathroom. EPISODE NOTES: Kerri is a force. She is a comic, speaker, actress, author, and screenwriter. She recently landed my dream job: WRITING FOR HALLMARK! Hey everyone! Well, I’m heading into uncharted territory. This is a topic I know very little about: FASHION! I invited my friend Natalie Weakly to discuss who in the world of pop culture has managed to make their style iconic.  Other than the thunder and the helicopter that flew through in the middle of the podcast, I think you’re going to enjoy this episode. I learned so much, including the fact that headbands are in! My dreams of being Blair Waldorf may actually come true!  Do they allow old ladies to lunch on the steps of the MET? Someone in New York, please let me know… EPISODE NOTES: Natalie is an image consultant who is also a speaker, a corporate brand guru, and a fantastic singer. It’s the most wonderful time of year! It’s the time when Stephanie and I get together on Halloween to celebrate Christmas! Thanks to Hallmark’s addition of 40 brand new holiday movies, the channel has decided to bust out the yuletide cheer in October. How else are we supposed to watch all the forlorn women wandering around the Christmas tree lot in winter white coats fall in love with the ruggedly handsome guys in red and black buffalo check jackets? It just makes sense.  Although Stephanie and I base our recommendations on three sentence synopses and a cast roster we located on the website (CLICK HERE) and the Hallmark Christmas channel app (which you should download), it’s clear that the suits in the front office tossed some cash at this year’s selections  How do I know?  We go to ROME!We go to New York!We go Graceland (again)! We go to Dollywood!  Fingers crossed that it’s a hard candy Christmas. ’Tis the seasons my friends! No, I’m not talking about Thanksgiving turkey or yuletide cheer. I’m talking about autumn and all of its amenities.  For some of you, it’s the invasion of pumpkin-spice infused things, including but not limited to: coffee, muffins, for some reason Oreos, hand sanitizers, candles, and Burt’s Bees chapstick. For others, like me, autumn means we can break out the orange tea towels, scatter some leaves around decorative gourds, and finally fill the glass bowl on the coffee table with candy corn. It also means that football season is here.  In this episode, Some Guy in Austin and I discuss football in pop culture. (You’ll understand why he and I are friends we you hear our first two topics.) Between movies and a few TV episodes, we had a ton from which to choose. Although it was hard picking favorites, I’m sure you already know one of my guesses.  I’ll give you two hints. The first is Tim and the second is Riggins.  Clear eyes, y’all.  SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Books: It’s a Love Story and Why I Hate Green Beans

There’s a cold front rolling into Texas and we expect temperatures to dip into the high 80s any day now. But since it still feel like the surface of the sun outside, my friend Stephanie and I hightailed it to the movie theater to beat the heat. What did we see? I’m glad you asked.  We saw Downton Abbey and it was everything I wanted it to be. Was it a blockbuster hit that will break records? No. Was it super intense or full of mystery? Not at all. In a word, it was a delight. The gowns, the swelling musical score, and Lady Violet’s fantastic dialog. It’s all there for you. Including the ghost of Matthew Crawley. I’m sorry. That’s a lie. I shouldn’t joke about such things. It’s still hard for some of us to remember that devastating episode. It’s time for another “It’s a Love Story” episode and for some of you, this is a doozy. For others, you may be annoyed by all the laughing. And coughing.  You see, when I invited Mama to join me again on the show, she insisted on talking about The Sound of Music even though I told her it was more of a musical than a romance. Instead of disowning me for suggesting such a thing, Mama got sick about an hour before we recorded, but she still wanted to go on. So she invited my sister Jamie to join us.  My mother hacks up a lung, my sister wheezes, and I sort of sing. What more could you want in a podcast? FYI: I’m going to apologize now for the cold open. But I won’t apologize for the closer.  It’s one of my favorite things. Paradise is CLOSED. And I couldn’t be happier. We survived! And I couldn’t be happier. Our Host Chris Harrison looked amazing. And I couldn’t be happier. Peter is our new Bachelor. And I couldn’t be happier. Unless it was Chris Pine. Then I would ask Peter the Pilot to fly me straight to that mansion so I could throw my hat in Chris Pine’s ring. Nothing would make me happier. Back in episode 24, which was almost two years ago, my roommate Lara and I broke down Taylor Swift’s Reputation album song by song. To this date, it’s one of my most popular episodes. Why? Because you people are very passionate about Taylor Swift’s music. I thought Reputation was dark, which was jarring for me coming off of her 1989 album. However, some of the tracks grew on me and I can happily say that I own five of the 15. But the Lover album is a different story. Get ready, Swiftys. My friend Stephanie and I struggled to come up with things to talk about this episode. It could have accurately been summed up with two sentences. “It was the Luke Show. The end.” Then we could have talked about Our Host Chris Harrison’s eyes and Hannah’s random Pretty Woman inspired rose ceremony dress, and her interesting hairdo that looked like a schoolmarm bun with thick tendrils floating down.  We didn’t, of course. We talked about the episode. But just know that we could have spent an entire episode on just the tendrils.  EPISODE NOTES Want to read the full recap for this episode? Click HERE! And why is Chris Harrison in charge of snipping buds and creating new boutonnières? Isn’t that a job for the ABC Intern? Oh wait. I’m sorry. Hey y’all! So many of you have messaged me to say that you can’t wait to hear what Some Guy in Austin and I have to say about this episode, thanks to a certain jack wagon who is still on the cast roster. I’ll admit that we do discuss this particular glitch in Hannah’s brain in some detail, but what we really focus on is the phenomenon known as naked bungee jumping. * Do you think this is truly a Latvian tradition?* Would you do it?* If so, how would you prevent chaffing or harness burn? We also talk about the likelihood of the camera man passing out in the naughty sauna and if Tyler confuses real pants with baseball pants. Stay in your lane, people. Hey y’all! I know you’re listening today to hear an entertaining recap on The Bachelorette, but truth be told, it was the worst episode ever. What are you supposed to do when the show dedicates 40 minutes of Luke drama and an hour of recapping? Back off, ABC. People come to my website and podcast to read/hear a stellar bachelorette recap, thankyouverymuch. Stop cramping my style. Some Guy in Austin and I had a hard time deciding what to talk about this episode. We discussed Luke, what Some Guy calls “Hannah’s meltdown” and what I call “Hannah’s soapbox” moment. Then Luke again, Harrison’s hug and pocket square (I’d hug those shoulders). Luke once more and Harrison’s manufactured fireside chat. And, of course, Luke We also dive into the cast of Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. I’m eager to watch Demi stake her claim in some guy (probably Blake). I’m hopeful that Annaleise finds love (so she won’t ever come on the show again) and I’m so happy to see that Keith/Kevin’s shoulder is better. We are halfway through Bachelorette Hannah’s journey to find love and I’m concerned that I still don’t which one is Dustin. Wait…Devin. It’s Devin. I couldn’t pick Devin out of a lineup. Or is in Dylan? I blame Luke P. for this lack of awareness. Some Guy in Austin and I break it all down in this episode. We decide: * If Big Mike and Hannah REALLY like each other.* Hannah’s naughtiness on a pool table during a cocktail party.* And what exactly is Luke P. trying to clarify for twenty minutes. We also dedicate some significant time to the quintessential highlander: JAMIE FRASER. Raise your hand if you’re worried about Bachelorette Hannah? The girl is majorly on the struggle bus and it doesn’t look like she’s hopping off any time soon.  Some Guy in Austin and I share our theories on why she cried big, snotty tears this week: * She’s head over heels in love with Luke P.* She’s quickly learning that Luke P. is a major jack wagon.* She’s afraid that her man picker is broken. How can she love a chach? I’m concerned that she doesn’t know what a red flag looks like. Perhaps if they made them crimson-colored, she’d pay more attention.  Roll Tide!  EPISODE NOTES IT’S RED ROSS! I’m excited for you to listen to this episode with my sister Jamie, but I have to disclaim a few things first before you dive in: * We laugh at the beginning. It was around midnight and we were delirious and had a hard time pulling it together to record. I left it in there as a cold open because a little sister’s job is to embarrass her big sister whenever possible. You’re welcome, Jamie.* You can hear Mama in the background scolding us for not acting professional. * You’ll also hear a train come through not once, but twice. It’s just a downfall of recording in the country. I would say “ignore it!” but our family’s natural instinct is to say “TRAIN” whenever we hear the whistle blow because it’s happens multiple times a day. I didn’t even remember saying it until I edited the episode. Fun times! Moving on… I’m so glad Jamie picked My Big Fat Greek Wedding as one of her favorite romcoms of all time. It’s one I often forget about, but after watching it again and having this conversation, I can see why she went there.  My Big Fat Greek Wedding taught us that a bundt cake can be fixed by adding a potted plant to the hole in the middle. It also taught us that the man may be the head of the household, but the woman is the neck and can turn the head any way she wants. And finally, whether it’s a pimple or a mosquito bite, most ailments can be cured by squirting a little Windex on it.  EPISODE NOTES Here’s the trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Well, Bachelorette Hannah is well on her way to an emotional breakdown as she journeys to find love and I have to say, I found this episode thoroughly entertaining. Some Guy in Austin and I break down the three dates and discuss:  * What happened to Tebow Tyler?* Could Hannah have mono?* And do we believe she is going to CALL THE SHOTS when it comes to Luke? We just have a few more episodes of the love story series, which is sponsored by my new book It’s a Love Story. CONVENIENTLY ON SALE NOW! In this episode, my friend Janice Dean joins me! Janice is the senior meteorologist at FOX News, and a recent NYT bestselling author for her book Mostly Sunny. She’s an MS advocate, devoted wife and mother, and lover of romcoms. Janice went OLD SCHOOL and chose one of the most iconic romcoms of all time, When Harry Met Sally! And I totally understand why. It’s a classic! Just listen to this synopsis: In 1977, college graduates Harry Burns and Sally Albright share a contentious car ride from Chicago to New York, during which they argue about whether men and women can ever truly be strictly platonic friends. Ten years later, Harry and Sally meet again at a bookstore, and in the company of their respective best friends, Jess and Marie (played by the amazing Carrie Fisher), they attempt to stay friends without sex becoming an issue between them. When Harry Met Sally taught us that’s it’s okay to order things “on the side” and that keeping a can of hair spray in your glove compartment is just smart. We also learned that no matter how cool you think it is, that Roy Rogers wagon wheel coffee table is ugly. Accept that now and you will thank me later.  EPISODE NOTES Here’s a review I did for Janice’s book Mostly Sunny! Here’s the trailer for When Harry Met Sally. Hey ya’ll It’s episode two of Bachelorette Hannah’s season and things are already getting steamy. Some Guy in Austin and I break down the three dates and discuss: * Do cowboy boots and speedos go together?* Is Tyler G. a real contestant or just a robot without a personality?* Can we change Cam’s acronym to “Always Be Chacchin’?” Are you rooting for the guy with the twelve pack set of abs who professed his love thirty-six hours after meeting her?  Or will you cheer on the guitar-playing musician with crooked hero hair who didn’t have a clue that there was a secret grotto on the grounds of the mansion where people who are twitter-pated go to make out? I am super excited for you to listen to this episode of the love story series (sponsored by my book It’s a Love Story! (On sale now!) Today I host fellow bachelor recapper, podcaster, and author KNOX McCOY as we discuss The Wedding Singer. Thanks to our mutual friend Melanie Shankle, I started following Knox’s podcast THE POPCAST a few years ago and I haven’t turned back. If you love pop culture, you will love the show he hosts with his business partner Jamie Golden.  And his book, The Wondering Years, is one of my latest greatest favorite books. I have links to all the things down below, so make sure to check it all out or just go to knoxmccoy.com and dig around. Oh, and sign up for his newsletter. Trust me. This week we discuss The Wedding Singer. Now I need to disclaim three things before you listen: * I beat my desk in that way when you are laughing and you might slap your knee. I did that. Several times. Which brings me to number two:* I laugh. I laugh a lot. I also laughed so much during this interview that I had to cut it in half because of time restraints. * And finally, in the podcast when we talk about George (who is part of the wedding band) singing the song “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.” Except I say, “Do you really want to LOVE me.” I need  you to know that I know I was in the wrong. I just have love on the brain. The Wedding Singer is a stellar piece of pop culture as a movie, as well as a soundtrack. Both give you life. Why do I state that claim so boldly?  Just listen to this movie synopsis:  Set in 1985, Adam Sandler plays a nice guy with a broken heart who’s stuck in one of the most romantic jobs in the world, a wedding singer. He loses all hope when he is abandoned at the altar by his fiancé (LINDA…). He meets a young woman named Julia (Drew Barrymore), who enlists his help to plan her wedding. He falls in love with her and must win her over before she gets married. The Wedding Singer taught us many things. For example, if you are going through a breakup, try writing a song about it or have the mutants at table 29 help you proclaim LOVE STINKS in front of the entire wedding party. Fingerless gloves never go out of style (is that just me?) and Deloreans are cool no matter the decade.   But most of all, we learned not to let anyone wear our Van Halen t-shirts lest they jinx the band and they break up. This phenomenon may transcend time. That’s why my Taylor Swift and Justin Timberlake concert tees are safe and sound in a secured lock box under my bed. You can never be too safe.  EPISODE NOTES All things Knox McCoy: The Popcast PodcastThe Bible Binge PodcastThe Wondering Years Here’s the trailer for The Wedding Singer. This week on my love story series, I’m discussing The Proposal with my rocket scientist / author friend Rebecca. That’s right. She’s both left brained and right brained. When Rebecca isn’t working at NASA or raising her kids, she’s writing sweet romances under the pen name Daphne Emmerson. I’ve read all her books and knew immediately that she would be one who needed to give me her take on the world’s greatest love stories. I can understand why she picked The Proposal. A. Sandra BullockB. Ryan Reynolds The Proposal taught us many things, including certain circumstances we should watch out for. For example, Alaskan hawks can pick up tiny dogs if you’re not paying attention. Baby maker blankets have magical powers. And it is possible that you could be a guest in a bathroom that doesn’t have any towels. Plan accordingly. Also, it might be a good idea to have a rap on standby should you find yourself chanting in the woods so you can be one with the universe. Maybe something a little more ladylike than lyrics that instruct one to “stop” and “just wiggle it.”  Just kidding. Nothing is better than “Get Low” by Lil’ Jon. Roll with it. Hello everyone! Well, we are back in Bachelor mode, and if you are a fan of the show, you probably know that the bios of Hannah Bama’s men dropped this week. Some Guy in Austin joins me and for the first time ever, he has neither researched nor looked at the bios provided by ABC. We get his knee-jerk reaction to Hannah’s suitors, which was a brave decision on my part. I’ve never edited a podcast so much in my life. I would assume you parents out there tuning in aren’t listening with children, since this is a podcast on a raunchy reality show. But just in case you are, maybe skip the part about a rapping bachelor name Cam.  Also, I left a blooper at the beginning of the show. Enjoy that little peek behind the curtain! Based on a handful of sentences and bullet points, season 15 is shaping up to be quite the Chach Parade. Which is totally fine, in my book. I love a parade. I know this because you’ve emailed and messaged me to ask, “When is your mother going to be on the podcast again?” Well, when she heard about the love series, sponsored by my new book It’s a Love Story, (on sale now!), she immediately wanted to talk about her favorite movie of all time: Pretty Woman. Now because of the subject matter concerning Vivian’s line of work, my mother uses a word that rhymes with LOOKER or BOOKER a record twelve times. At one point, she takes it a step further and makes the word a verb. Because I have no idea if the Apple Corporation will flag Mama’s use of that word as “explicit content” on iTunes, I decided it was best to just bleep her out. This is a family show, and I’d like to keep it that way. Aside from vernacular that describes “ladies of the night,” Pretty Woman taught us that it’s okay to wear wigs and that it’s cool to carry dental floss in your purse. We learned how to stomp a divot and that escargot are slippery little suckers. But most importantly, we learned not to judge a book by its cover. Because even hookers can have a heart of gold.    SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Book: Why I Hate Green Beans Enjoy the show!

Here’s another new episode of my podcast series! It’s sponsored by my book It’s a Love Story, which is on sale now! Click here to purchase today! GLORY BE! IT’S FINALLY OUT THERE! Thank you for letting me get that off my chest. This love story series is all about romantic movies. I invited a few of my friends to help me dissect some of our favorite romcoms. In this episode, Some Guy in Austin and I discuss Win a Date With Tad Hamilton. This movie taught us to reach for the stars. Literal Hollywood stars. We learned that half a can of original Pringles is the average amount one may eat at a time, to guard our carnal treasure, and that there’s a difference between big love and great love. But most importantly, we learned how to chop wood. I’d like to thank Josh Duhamel for wearing a pearl snap to set that day. I salute you Tad Hamilton. And your physique.  SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Book: Why I Hate Green Beans Enjoy the show!

I invited a few of my friends to help me dissect some of our favorite romcoms. In this episode, my friend Melanie Shankle and I go overboard discussing Crazy Stupid Love. This movie taught us to fight for what we love, to fight for WHO we love, and proves that there is magic in the Dirty Dancing lift. But most importantly, it encourages us to be better than The Gap. This movie taught us that nerds and plastics can co-exist in the same universe, if you’re willing to make a few sacrifices. It taught us the meaning of rhododendrons. And most importantly, it helps us understand the elation one feels when performing an iconic ‘80s dance that is only rivaled by Michael Jackson’s Thriller: The African Anteater Ritual! I invited a few of my friends to help me dissect some of our favorite romcoms and the conversations were eye-opening. For example, in this episode, Stephanie and I discuss Twilight. I heard that. Some of your rolled your eyes. I get it. You wonder how we could put Kristen Stewart’s Bella in the same realm as romcom charmers (who will be featured later) like Sandra Bullock and Meg Ryan. I’ll tell you what I told Stephanie when I made her talk about this movie: IT WAS A LOVE STORY PHENOMENON. You can’t deny that. No matter what team you were on, whether it be Jacob or Edward’s (#TeamJacob), the world was left with one thing we can not deny. Real men sparkle. EPISODE NOTES Do you remember the Twilight trailer? Well here we are. One hundred episodes of the IHGB podcast. A lot of hard work got me here, along with all the TV recapping and movie watching, but I couldn’t have done it without the following: Thank you Bachelor for several wack-a-do seasons. A big shout out to Taylor Swift’s Reputation for helping me not judge a book by its album cover. The girls from the movie Shag. Who knew when I said no one had ever seen this movie that it would cause such a revolt among listeners I salute you, Hollywood, for continuing to make movies I can watch, even though none of them are true romances. And finally, to Our Host Chris Harrison. None of this would be possible if I hadn’t been flipping the TV channels that fateful day – the day I got lost in your eyes. And felt my spirits rise and soar like the wind. Is it love that I am in? Only time will tell. Here’s to another one hundred. EPISODE NOTES Lara and I talk about things that are “Hundo P” in our lives, or one hundred percent. Did we make up this term? No. We stole it from youths. WE ARE SO HIP! In this podcast, we are going to talk about movies hitting the theater in Spring 2019. As always, my friend Todd is with me so he can bring a little culture and refinement to the conversation. I, on the other hand, am cartoon savvy, superhero sensitive, and have a book coming out that celebrates my love for a good old fashioned romantic comedy. (Hitting shelves, both real and digital, on April 30!) I’m excited for you to hear our top choices and honorable mentions, but please do not email me, message me, at me, text me, or call me to try and convince me that I need to see Dumbo. I will not. Can’t do it. Won’t do it. Because of his mom and the trunks and sort of holding hands and the song and the…can someone hand me a tissue please? Well, we finally reached the end of The Bachelor season. For those of you who were thinking “WHAT WAS THAT,” I feel your frustration. For others who are thinking “REJOICE! NEW TOPICS,” get ready for some fun episodes on TV, movies, and something special for the 100th episode coming up in a few weeks! But this episode is all about Colton’s journey to find someone he calls “future wife” with a woman who calls him “that guy I once dated on a reality show.” Bless it. It was a lackluster of a finale, in my opinion. We were promised a roller coaster. What we got was a log ride. You know, just floating along, noting things to the left and to the right. And the one big huge dip at the end was NOT the announcement of our new bachelorette, no sir. Clearly the big moment was the chach parade. And Air Supply. Who could forget Air Supply? Hint: Anyone under the age of 35.E FRIENDS OF THE SHOW: Our friend Janice Dean wrote a book called Mostly Sunny! I wrote a review for the Associated Press. Check it out HERE and buy her book HERE! It’s the podcast you’ve been waiting for. COLTON FINALLY JUMPS THE FENCE! Well played, ABC. You sucked me in thinking I cared more about the single bound leap, then juked me with Cassie breaking Colton’s heart into itty bitty pieces. I did not see that coming. In this episode, Some Guy in Austin and I break it all down for you. We discuss Cassie’s father, her lack of communication skills, her wardrobe, and her likelihood of being the franchises next bachelorette. I say she’s in the running. Some Guy’s vote is for her sister. I can’t wait to see who wins! EPISODE NOTES Our friend Janice Dean wrote a book called Mostly Sunny! I wrote a review for the Associated Press. It’s hometown week for Cole’n and he is on the struggle bus. Does he pick the girl who makes him break his bread into tiny little bits? Or the one who drinks strawberry wine? How about the one who shoves him out of an airplane? Or the one whose Daddy does not give his consent? Some Guy in Austin and I answer these questions and discuss the rose ceremony that had fans issuing forth a strong “oooohhhhhhhhh” after a certain name was called and a “nope” after a whispered, “GET ENGAGED.” I am not a fan.  EPISODE NOTES Colton wears a black leather jacket. Which means he’s a bad boy. But it’s also very delicate. Because even bad boys have a soft side as represented in one of the best compilation CDs of all time. Monster Ballads. Strawberry Wine. Great song. Horrible message. Need help in the etiquette department like Cole’n? Don’t worry. I’ve got the website for you. FRIENDS OF THE SHOW: My friend Bethany Turner has a book coming out in May. I’ve got a bonus episode here for you and it’s all about THE OSCARS! Who won?Who deserved to win?Which nominees are worth watching? Of course I don’t know the answers to any of these questions because out of the big categories (actor/actress/director/picture) of the winners I saw a grand total of ZERO. I can tell you all about A Star is Born, Black Panther, and Mary Poppins Returns. I didn’t even know there was a movie called The Wife. (I’m sorry Glen Close!) But I do have friends who are more refined than I am and Todd is here to tell you what to see and what to skip. I’ll tell you who wore it best. Look no further than Captain America Chris Evans. Even though his tux was turquoise velvet, I’ll allow it Because it matched his eyes perfectly. That’s talent.

Well, we’re at a crossroads in Colton’s journey to find love where our bachelor has reached a breaking point. Although our boy is feeling ALL the feels, the one dominating his heart right now is confusion. * Who is here for the right reasons? * What is the Hogwarts Express doing in Colorado? * When will Caelynn let down her walls and start cursing like a sailor in front of everyone? * Where is the rest of Hannah B’s top? * Why has Peter Brady Ben Higgins replaced Our Host Chris Harrison as the resident mentor? If that is the case, someone send help. I’ll be over here in the corner rocking back and forth in the fetal position. EPISODE NOTES Did you know Chris Harrison was a host on an HGTV show called Designer’s Challenge? Although the train looked like the Hogwarts Express, it was not. Hannah B. is probably tired of being number two to Caelynn. But did you know that some very popular songs in our iTunes accounts also never made it to the number one mark on the charts? I can’t believe we are already six weeks into Colton’s (or Coco if you’re from Red Oak, Texas) journey to find love. Listen, he’s on the struggle bus and I don’t blame him. Some Guy in Austin and I discuss in great detail why we think women are dropping like flies. We compare and contrast Cassie’s “after school special” date from last week to Hannah’s “Lincee is behind the couch cushion again” one-on-one. We also take a very big right turn into the levels of complexity as seen with the registered trademark phenomenon – the infamous Jump and Straddle(R). Is there a right way to do it? How many variations are there? Can you botch a Jump and Straddle? Yes. Yes you can, Kirpa. If you’d like to read an entire recap of Colton’s sixth episode, click HERE! With Elyse leaving, and the stress of timing Heather’s kiss JUST RIGHT with those fireworks, it’s no wonder he’s teetering on madness. Or maybe it’s the bug he ate in the jungle. Either way, I have a feeling the infamous CrossFit leap over the fence is looming in the near future.  Get pumped.     EPISODE NOTES: One of our very own long-time IHGB readers, Emma St Clair, wrote a romance novel based on a reality show just like The Bachelor and it is killing it on Amazon. I read it in a day and loved it. Some Guy in Austin and I discuss several important topics like: Bungee jumping: Fun or idiotic?Leaches: Helpful or Harmful?Demi: Smart or Brilliant? Before you listen, I’d like to disclaim two things: 1. Some Guy and I go off on a slight tangent and laugh so hard there’s silence. 2. I pronounce Caelyn’s name as a double name Kay Lynn half of the time. I don’t know how the twang escapes me.  Speaking of things that are puzzling, how do you confuse the name Hannah with Caelyn?  The answer is…you don’t.) Hello to you and good-bye to 2018. Can you believe we are already on the edge of 2019? It happens every December. We push pause on the old DVR, freezing It’s Christmas Comma Eve at the point where LeAnn Rimes is receiving the most perfect kiss from a very attractive man, and we give our attention to something equally as important. The Bachelor. It’s finally happened. Our Host Chris Harrison announced the women vying for Colton’s heart (THREE HOUR DEBUT – bless – on January 7) and we arrive at all sorts of conclusions based solely on a headshot and a boring three sentence bio. This episode is one of my favorites and it was one of yours last year, too. My friend Ranelle and I discuss new Christmas music! So many artists came out with holiday songs this year and Ranelle tells us what to watch for. I do need to apologize for the banging noise. I think Ranelle and I were excited and when we’re excited, we both talk with our hands. So we bumped the mic or the table a few times. I’M SO SORRY! But to make it up to you, I’ve included a Spotify playlist that includes every song we discuss in the podcast AS WELL AS Ranelle’s favorite playlists from past years. And let me just say that Matt Maher’s new Christmas album has my whole heart. I’m not sure how to pronounce his last name correctly, but whatever. WHOLE HEART. My good friends over at Oasis Media sent me digital sample chapters of my book Why I Hate Green Beans and you get to listen to them FOR FREE today! I’m one of those people who love an actual tangible book, but I also love when an author reads his or her memoir. With an audiobook, you can hear my sarcasm, dramatic pauses, and super fun accents that don’t make me look at all like a weirdo. If you like what you hear, consider popping over to your favorite retailer and buying a copy for someone on your holiday gift-giving list! At the time of this posting, the paperback and digital versions are available on Amazon for around six dollars and the audiobook is a STEAL at ten dollars. I hope you like what you hear. I also hope that you find it charming when I accidentally slide in and out of my adorable East Texas accent. Or as Mama says, “What accent? Happy Thanksgiving week everyone! I know the holidays can be exciting for some and rough for others, so my friend Laura and I decided to podcast on the art of forgiveness. Ironically, our podcast revolves around pop culture phenomenons that we are working on, but have not fully forgiven. Let me share some examples that didn’t make the show: On Poldark, Caroline calls her husband Dr. Ennis. What’s up with that? For some reason, this is hard for me to forgive. How about Lady Gaga’s meat dress? Can she be forgiven? And does her performance in A Star is Born help her case? And what about Hollywood refusing to make a good love story anymore? UNFORGIVABLE! Someone should write a book about that… EPISODE NOTES: Laura wrote a VERY FUNNY, yet soul-searching book on forgiveness. It’s called Forgive. and you can buy it HERE! You can find out more about her at the Yes! Ministries website or listen to her podcast by clicking HERE! Laura Needs Help Forgiving: A certain death on Downton Abbey A certain accident on Friday Night Lights Fun tangent: I mention an FNL cameo in the finale of Parenthood This fashion comeback! Another fun tangent: Did you watch the live Dirty Dancing made for TV movie on NBC? We did! Lincee Needs Help Forgiving: This love connection on Friends A few celebrity breakups Arie on The Bachelor A Wrinkle in Time SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Book: Why I Hate Green Beans Enjoy the show!

Hello everyone! This week’s podcast is significant for two reasons: 1. It’s been 20 years since my friend Jill and I were world-famous Jungle Cruise Skippers during our internship at Disney World. Although that number is regrettably high, Jill and I both think that we could still pass for college interns if we were to commandeer a boat on the Jungle Cruise and regale audiences with our wit and charm. 2. Mickey is celebrating his 90th birthday this week. I think it’s appropriate to salute the cartoon mouse who first sparked my imagination as a kid and helped me to dream big as an adult. Mickey, young Lincee – and slightly older Lincee who can still recite the entire Jungle Cruise spiel – are forever grateful. This one’s for you. EPISODE NOTES: Everything you need to know about the Disney College Program can be found HERE! If you’d like to listen to the background loop for the Jungle Cruise queue line (hilarious by the way) listen HERE! Halloween is over and that can only mean one thing… It’s time to size up the new Hallmark Christmas movies! My friend Stephanie and I rate all twenty-two selections and decide if we want to watch them based on the provided promo information alone. You’d be surprised just how many received a solid, “YES! Pour me some nog and I’m there!” based on three sentences and a staged photo. Our 2018 selections are solid, thanks to a town gazebo, a town festival, a spontaneous snowball fight in the town square, Elvis Presley’s GRACELAND, a Christmas version of the Tinder app, a royal Christmas romance, and a certain Town Sheriff named Gage McBride. Andy Williams was right. It is the most wonderful time of the year. EPISODE NOTES: Everything you need to know about the Hallmark Christmas movies selections can be found HERE! Welcome to this special Halloween edition of the I Hate Green Beans podcast. My friend Stephanie and I take a trip down Memory Lane, sharing our favorite Halloween stories, costumes, candy, and pop culture moments. Now, to anyone who expects this episode to be full of scary movie recommendations or my favorite haunted house moments, you will be highly disappointed. For those of you who love Hocus Pocus, Teen Witch, and Beetlejuice, this is the podcast for you. Also, I have a great Halloween snack mix recipe at the end of the show. I experienced this past weekend. Can you say game changer? Happy Thursday everyone! I’m very excited about today’s show. I’m with my sister Jamie (who you may remember from the 80s movie podcast or the dance movie podcast) and we discuss our favorite greatest hits albums. For those of you who aren’t yet thirty years old, we explain exactly what a “greatest hits” album is in the opener. Never fear. We each chose a female artist, a male artist, and a group and explain why they deserve to be in the pantheon of greatest hits. Narrowing it down from a list of fifty, that is not an exaggeration, was quite the task. In fact, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. And that includes the summer Jamie timed me to see if I could go get her a drink from downstairs in less that a minute. Now that was a stressful day… EPISODE NOTES: Jamie’s Picks: Queen’s Greatest Hits Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael Madonna: The Immaculate Collection Lincee’s Picks: Chicago – Greatest Hits: 1982-1989 The Very Best Of Prince Whitney The Greatest Hits SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Book: Why I Hate Green Beans Enjoy the show!

Happy Thursday everyone! Today’s show is a little on the abstract side. Some Guy in Austin and I are talking about famous COWBOYS! I mean actual cowboys, songs about cowboys, movies about cowboys, what it takes to be a cowboy. And toward the middle of the show, you get an extra treat. In a rare moment Some Guy in Austin starts SINGING. If it wasn’t one of the best songs in the history of ever, I would have politely edited out. It turns out, when this song is performed BY ANYONE, I’m drawn in. Like young Lincee to Troy Aikman. For those of you who don’t know, he’s a cowboy, too.    EPISODE NOTES: Here’s an example of someone who is trying really hard to be a cowboy. Need some cowboy hat etiquette? Now who is Tuff Hedeman again? Did you know there’s a cowboy website that tells you the best John Waynes movies? The best cowboy music video on MTV ever to grace my screen. Top 20 songs about cowboys and cowgirls. Happy Thursday everybody! Well, it’s episode 74 and today we’re dissecting the Taylor Swift Reputation Concert Stadium Extravaganza! I chat with my friends Susan and Lara, who also attended the show, and we discuss our favorite songs, our favorite moments, and how Lara wants to take back everything negative she said a year ago when we podcasted about Taylor’s new album. Taylor, I know you’re listening. Lara asked me to apologize on her behalf. I’m still on the fence about some of the songs and the snake motif, but I love you with my whole heart. Keep rockin’ that bodysuit girl! Happy Thursday everyone! Today’s podcast is one of my favorites. I’m discussing upcoming fall movies with my friend Todd and there are A TON that make me smile and a few that make me scared. Sounds about right. There’s a famous astronaut, a creepy snake guy (no, thank you), a film that is already getting all sorts of Oscar buzz, and a certain British nanny who is supercalifragilisticexpealidocious. The fall 2018 movie lineup is looking G-O-O-D! EPISODE NOTES: Todd’s Movie Pics: Bad Times at the El Royale First Man Bohemian Rhapsody Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Welcome to Marwen Lincee’s Movie Pics: A Star is Born Ralph Breaks the Internet Robin Hood Aquaman (no judgement) Mary Poppins Returns SHOW NOTES: Subscribe to Podcast: iTunes or Android Newsletter Subscription: HERE Follow Me: Facebook and Instagram and Twitter Buy My Book: Why I Hate Green Beans Enjoy the show!

Happy Thursday everyone! So much is going on right now that I can barely focus. Grey’s Anatomy comes back tonight. Y-E-S. Taylor Swift concert this weekend. Y-E-S. And Michael Bublé just announced his new album twelve minutes ago. BIG YES! How do I know? Do I stalk him? The answer is “of course” followed by the question, “Why don’t you?” To make matters worse, or concerning, depending on how you look at it, I was one who tuned in to Instagram Live to hear about the big announcement. Yes, I am his biggest fan. Moving on. Today’s podcast is not about my favorite crooning singer, but the topic does hold a special place in my heart. HARRY POTTER! My friend Stephanie and I discuss the books, the movie, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. We also figure out who we would marry if given the chance. Spoiler, among many, I chose Cederic Diggory. I think I could take Cho Chang if I had to. EPISODE NOTES: Would you like to read all seven of the Harry Potter books? Here you go! Would you like to watch all the movies? Well, check cable first and if it’s not there, here you go! Here’s a nice Harry Potter trivia challenge for you. And a way to figure out which house you would have lived in if you had attended Hogwarts. See! I told you quidditch is real! Happy Bachelor in Paradise season finale everyone! I wanted to thank y’all for tuning in during the Bachelor podcast episodes. This show is where everything started and I absolutely love talking about it with friends. But I do want to make sure you tune in for the rest of the year! I’ll host many different guests, discussing all sorts of pop culture topics NOT related to The Bachelor. We’ve got some great stuff planned for the fall. You’re going to love it! Now, I’m sure you’ve heard that there were multiple breaking news items between the time Our Host Chris Harrison signed off during last night’s episode and the wee hours of this morning. We had an arrest, a pregnancy announcement, and a break-up! Naturally all of these come with conspiracy theories, so Some Guy in Austin and I break each one down. And we throw in a little Outlander and Poldark to make things interesting. Because you can’t go wrong with Jamie Frasier or Ross Poldark. I don’t care what Some Guy says. They are soooo pretty. EPISODE NOTES: Click HERE and HERE for my recaps on the finale, parts 1 and 2. I’ve included links to all the breaking news, too. Here’s the arrest. Here’s the pregnancy. And here’s the break-up! We go down a Florida Georgia Line tangent, thanks to this announcement in the country music category. Did you hear Grocery Store Joe is going to be on Dancing with the Stars? And his partner is Jenna! Happy Thursday everyone! I’m not going to waste any time with an introduction because between the last two nights of Bachelor in Paradise, we  have a lot to discuss. Colton is the new Bachelor. Annaliese is the picture of desperation. And Shushanna is clearly a witch. Totally a Slytherin if you ask me. ACCIO EPISODE! Hey y’all! Now that school has started and those of us who live in Texas are praying to the good Lord for something below triple digit temperatures, I thought it would be a good time for a summer movie review. My friend Todd and I are movie goers and in this episode, we discuss our latest, greatest, favorites. Some are still in theaters, so you have time to go see them and others are well on their way to a digital renting platform because they were TERRIBLE. I’m looking at you, A Wrinkle in Time. Full disclosure: I do not blame the very handsome Chris Pine for this very bad movie. You, Chris Pine, can do no wrong. Call me. EPISODE NOTES: The meat of this episode comes from the top 15 movies according to Box Office Mojo. Two of our favorite movies are Avengers: Infinity War and Solo. You can listen to an episode entirely dedicated to these movies by clicking HERE and HERE. Todd’s number one movie of the summer is Mission Impossible: Fallout. Did you know that Tom Cruise broke his ankle filming? Watch Jimmy Fallon try to figure out which scene. Sweet, terrible, delightful Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again was lacking in the soundtrack department. But there was one stellar moment that made me STAND UP. Can you guess before you listen? And finally, Todd suggested we listen to the Deadpool 2 soundtrack because it’s worth our time. Instead of linking directly, I took out all of the explicit tracks and made a Spotify playlist of this legit lineup. Check it out! Happy Thursday everyone! Before we get to the episode, I wanted to remind you that you have a few more days to buy my book Why I Hate Green Beans in digital format for only $2.99. That’s less than one of Wells’ famous margaritas. Click that link right now! Did you do it? Great! Now back to Paradise. We are in the home stretch and that means things are getting ugly. People are tipsy, others are desperate, and many are switching partners like, well, like it’s a reality show about dating. Some Guy in Austin and I break it down for you. We talk about the Kendall, Joe, Leo drama and how Eric majorly rocked Angela’s boat (not in a good way) and how Some Guy and I are afraid of MRI machines. It all weaves together nicely. Trust me. EPISODE NOTES: Do you suffer from claustrophobia? This link will FREAK YOU OUT! Who needs to learn how to throw a punch? I’ve got the YouTube video for you. Some Guy in Austin used to write a Bachelor recap. Here’s a post that includes Cassandra from Juan Pablo’s season. Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s the episode you’ve been waiting for all week. Some Guy in Austin and I break down not one, not two but THREE Bachelor in Paradise episodes. That’s six hours of abs, crabs, glitter bombs, and a great discussion about how the Goose is a total chach. Fair warning, we recorded this in the middle of the night and I giggle when I’m tired. I also snort laugh once or twice. Cheers to my lovely display of femininity. EPISODE NOTES: Do you think this is why Crazy Eddie Chris call himself Goose? Lots of people in Paradise think they are MFEO. I would never turn down a Dave & Buster’s gift card. Would you? Who wants to try the new dating app Vouch with me? If you’d like to read this week’s Bachelorette recap, you can find that HERE! Finally, my e-book is on sale for only $2.99!
