HAPPY FALL Y’ALL! Let’s just hope that some FALL TEMPERATURES will come so that it might feel real! Today we are going to talk about appointed times and seasons and why it’s good for us to pay attention to these things in order to be intentional with beholding Who God is and becoming who He has made us to be! And, to endure in a withering world, may we have hearts that continually RETURN to the Lord in repentance! I’m SO excited to welcome back my dear friend Rebekah Lyons to the podcast as we celebrate her new book Rhythms of Renewal: Trading Stress and Anxiety for a Life of Peace and Purpose! It’s always sweet to sit down with Rebekah and reflect together! After watching her truly live these rhythms, it’s so fun to see how God is using her to help others enter into the REST that God offers us! I hope this episode is truly a BLESSING to you as you begin a brand new month! I’ll talk to you soon! - Christy

I’m so loving this “message in the middle” to ENDURE as the people of God! Thankfully, it’s not a checklist because no one needs another one of those! Today we will remember that it flows out from drawing near to the One who endures forever, and cultivates in us a “beholding” heart! A heart that daily confesses, “Jesus, You are the Christ”,  beholding Him for Who He truly is! And wouldn’t you know it...we BECOME what we behold! Gathering around this very truth with me is the beautiful Ruth Simons! Her new book “Beholding and Becoming: The Art of Everyday Worship” is absolutely gorgeous and is available everywhere today! I’m confident that you are so going to enjoy hearing from Ruth’s heart! I’ll talk to you soon! -Christy

I’m so excited to be back for some special episodes this Fall! The Lord gave me this theme, “The Message in the Middle” and it started as something personal but then I realized that it’s really for all of us! If you’re anything like me, you might be trying to figure out - right about now - what it looks like to live purposely and intentionally inside of this withering world around us. What does it look like to remain faithful in the middle of it all? Here between the now and the not yet. Our spiritual reality is that we are in the middle of a war! What does it look like for us to steadily stand in the middle of it all? I’m realizing more and more that it is not only good, but vital, that we remind each other to stand firm, to remain, to stay…to last! But how do we do that? Listen in as we huddle up and remember how to draw near to the only One who lasts forever! You will also get to hear from my brother Eric Hill and his beautiful wife, Kristin (Amaryllis Kristin!) from @withyouministries as they talk about their beautiful new book called “The First Breakfast”. We’ve read all about the intimacy of The Last Supper and all that it symbolizes for us…Christ’s sacrifice that would change everything! But oh how beautiful, because of His great sacrifice, to come around the new beginning of His Resurrection! The First Breakfast is about the redemptive, merciful morning when Jesus offers breakfast on the beach as a way of showing that He has made all things new! I hope you’ll “come and have breakfast” with us as we draw near to Jesus together! I’ll talk to you soon!

It’s so sweet to be back with you on The Glorious in the Mundane podcast today! Today’s episode is called “Taste and See” as a part of our “Come Magnify the Lord with Me” series. I love this thought of magnifying the Lord together over the bounty of food. I know that food can be a touchy subject and isn’t it just like the enemy to make it a “thing” because all in all, God MADE IT A THING! It’s HIS THING and it’s FOR US in a big and beautiful way. Enjoy a conversation today with the brilliant, Margaret Freiburg as she takes us on a journey of savoring Christ through tasting and seeing that He is good and He is ENOUGH. I pray that today’s episode encourages you to stop and savor, to perceive and respond, to TASTE and SEE that God is abundant and He’s inviting you to LIVE from all that He is!
April 10, 2019
Today I decided to expound on my  post on Instagram about “juggling” and can I just say, how much do you love that God can speak to us through juggling? Like actual juggling. He is amazing! As we continue our series called Come Magnify the Lord with Me, we will talk about what it looks like to keep our eyes lifted above what we’re juggling - all the things we’re carrying and trying to hold together - and instead, fix them on the Lord and His steadfast love over us. We’ll discuss the rhythm we can find in surrendering day to day, eyes up/palms up as we trust this God who holds us all together!
March 27, 2019
Today we’ll remember once again what lessons we can take with us from Winter as we allow ourselves to HOPE for what Spring will bring! There’s something beautiful about giving ourselves permission to let HOPE rise up in our hearts because eventually, that HOPE begins to seep out on others! As we continue our series called, “Come Magnify the Lord With Me” we will acknowledge that we do have an enemy who loves to keep us isolated and silenced as he stirs the pot with our worries and fears. However, when we choose to turn our worries into worship, doors open, chains fall and we are blessed by getting to BLESS God in the midst of uncertainty! I will talk to you soon!
March 13, 2019
I’m so loving this theme, “Come Magnify the Lord With Me” as it’s reminding me that we are all MADE to worship. There’s something in us, deep down, that craves connection with God. It’s natural that we all desire the blessing of God on us and we even deeply need ministry from Him, we are human! Do I believe God blesses us and ministers to us? YES! But, there’s also something that we offer in worship that’s unique to WHO we are and that blesses and ministers to God in the most beautiful way! I was telling a friend of mine this week about the first time that I ever lifted my hands in worship. As I was talking about it, I realized that I lifted my hands to Him during a season of my life where He was bringing true restoration to some very broken things that my family had experienced. I was only 17. But I realized that lifting my hands in the moment was a very appropriate response, the more my friend and I talked about it. It was a present response, and we’ll even talk about this episode, that it was a biblical response. My prayer is that you’ll come alive as the worshiper that you were MADE to be as we learn what it looks like to magnify the Lord together! I’ll talk to you soon! - Christy

NEW PODCAST TODAY! I’m SO excited to re-launch #thegloriousinthemundane podcast after a much needed break in January and am feeling refreshed to be back! I’m so excited to hone in on this theme of “Come Magnify the Lord with Me” -  I love the invitation of Psalm 34:3, “oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” Essentially, David is saying, “come join me in blessing the Lord.” What does it look like to bless the Lord? What happens in terms of our own blessing when we learn to bless him? I love that the Psalms are like this songbook of our identity as the people of God. We’re invited to respond both personally and corporately and I’m learning that both responses are essential in the life of the believer. I hope you’ll join me on this personal, worship journey for the next several months! It’s going to be beautiful!

“A Better Home” is the title of today’s episode as we wrap up an amazing year together! We’ll dive into the heart of the home together and how sharing what we’ve been given can be true for anyone, in any economy, anywhere in the world! With eternity in our hearts, we’re both looking for a better home and a better country, all the while displaying it here in our own hearts! You’ll get to hear from the lovely Myquillyn Smith @thenester and her heart on sharing what we’ve been given and allowing our homes to be the backdrop for caring for others! I’ll share about our Georgia home being featured in Better Homes and Gardens as well as Country Living. (The photos here are from the BHG feature back in the October 2014 issue!) This is the last podcast for the year! I’m so grateful for all of you who have listened to the podcast this year, even those of you who are just getting started and catching up! You’ve made my life so rich with your kind words and your support and most of all, by sharing how God has spoken to you through it all! Much love to you! I’ll talk to you soon!
December 10, 2018
So excited about today’s episode! I’m calling it “Home, Home on the Road” and today we’ll be reminded that because God is a home for us and He’s building His home IN us…we are agents of CHANGE for the world around us! My sweet new friend, Ginna Claire Mason  will be joining me today for this episode! She has just finished a 20 month tour with the Broadway Musical “Wicked” and knows a thing or two about finding a sense of home…home on the road. She truly embodies this beautiful theme of home and has been such a blessing to me in just the short time I’ve known her! I’m excited for you to meet her and I pray that you’re encouraged and that your faith gets built up for how God wants to use YOU as you hear her story! You know, it wasn’t until I really sat down and started preparing for this podcast that God whispered in even another layer of experiencing home on the road…it has a little something to do with that whole “agents of change” thing and I’m excited for you to hear about it and be encouraged by it! I’ll talk to you soon!
November 21, 2018
This is our Thanksgiving episode and I’m praying grace upon grace as you all head wherever you’re going! If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, it’s the same prayer…grace upon grace!! Today we will thank God together for how intentional he is in inviting us into a deeper walk with him! Sometimes the invitation comes through His Word or maybe our prayer time but sometimes it comes through a rough season or a major disappointment. I love when I find out that He was working all along, even when it seemed like he was disengaged! It’s beautiful how he entrusts us sometimes with rough seasons so that we can uncover the deeper invitation that he’s offering to us. He is so good! I’ll talk to you soon!
November 7, 2018
Happy November Y’all! I’m so excited about today’s episode because you’re going to get to hear from my dear friend Molley Moody - she’s not just a guest today because she’ll be with us on our Night of Hope #AFamilyChristmas tour or the fact that she’s just released a beautiful album called #HeartSongs - of course all of those things are wonderful things that I want you to know about! She’s a guest today because Jesus is a trusted Builder who restores people’s lives! I’ve watched Molley rise up in her calling over the last few years and so much of that has happened because she chose to place her heart in the hands of Jesus. You’re going to hear about how Jesus restored some very broken places in her heart and has continually walked with her into freedom and wholeness in so many beautiful ways. You’ll hear her share about her prayer process in combating lies and fears and how she’s learned to invite Jesus in to help her daily believe truth in those places. You’re also going to hear one of her new songs called “Turnin’ Around” that she and I actually co-wrote together! I so hope you enjoy hearing Molley’s beautiful Jesus-story of freedom and restoration. I’ll talk to you soon!
October 24, 2018
Y’all, I’m so excited about this episode! As always, the Lord took me through something in REAL TIME where I basically LIVED this episode with something I was walking through personally. I’m so grateful when He does that. It keeps me walking in humility and depending solely on Him for the “content” as well as being assured that He’ll have me experience the content too! Yes, it exposes dead ends in the “home” that He is building in me where I need to trust His vision when He knocks out a wall! (whew!) We’ll look at Isaiah 54 together, this passage!! Oh, how it tears down any preconceived ideas of any sort of “cookie cutter house” that He wants to build in us! He’s the God of more. The One who puts windows in walls and staircases inside of one-story cottages! We can trust this Builder. You’ll also hear me sit down with my sweet friend Meshali Mitchell to talk about the RESTORATION journey that God is unfolding in her life! Through an unexpected story-line, God has shown Himself a trustworthy Builder who is carefully peeling back layers and making sure He restores things carefully and completely. It’s going to be a beautiful time together, I’ll talk to you soon!

Longing For Home - I’m loving this theme, THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME! It’s helping me be present in the place that matters right now, which is home! But that doesn’t mean I can’t take that WITH ME wherever I go! Today we will let Psalm 84 wash over us and remember together that “better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere!” You’ll also get to hear from the lovely @jessicanturner on her brand new book “Stretched Too Thin: How Working Moms Can Lose the Guilt, Work Smarter and Thrive” I think we can all relate to being stretched too thin in different seasons of our lives, I know I can! I hope today’s episode encourages you RIGHT where you are! I’ll talk to you soon!

Season 3 Ep 49 - There's No Place Like Home by Christy Nockels
May 23, 2018 Today we’re going to talk about what it looks like to cultivate the smaller reach of our lives instead of being overwhelmed that we’re not making a “huge impact”… Maybe we have big dreams for the future but what if instead of running after the the big thing, we spend time cultivating the smaller reach of our lives, weaving it strong and true. I’m going to introduce you to my niece @adelinehillmusic today who is pursuing a music career in the mainstream and let me tell you, the girl has something to SAY. I’ve gotten the privilege of getting to mentor Adeline since she was very young and I’ve watched her choose to be “made in the secret” when the doors weren’t quite opening yet. I’ve watched her cultivate the smaller reach of her life that has afforded her friendships and experiences she’ll carry for a lifetime. Her new song, “How Can It Be Time Already” is about realizing it’s already time to fly the nest but it’s been beautiful to watch it kind of sneak up on her, those of us who have been watching her closely! All that time being formed in the secret has paid off and it’s been sweet to watch her rise up in her gift! You will LOVE hearing from her heart, don’t miss it! AND…THIS IS THE LAST EPISODE for Season Two BUT REMEMBER you can join me for the summer on for my Summer in the Psalms series…Living a Life of Worship in the Middle of the Mundane, we’d love to have you join us!

Special Guest - Lauren Tomlin Today is a beautiful reminder that before we are a wife or a mama, we are a daughter with an invitation to take God up on all that He has for us, if we’ll just choose to step into it with Him. This episode is actually our Mother’s Day episode, but PLEASE don’t pass it up just because you are not a Mama! There’s something for EVERYONE in today’s episode! Today is actually one of my favorite interviews that I’ve gotten to do, to date! You’re going to get to hear from my beautiful friend Lauren Tomlin whom I’ve actually mentioned several times on this podcast before! She’s married to my friend Chris Tomlin and theirs is a story that has been incredible to watch unfold over the years. Married later in life, Lauren opens up about the invitation that marriage and parenthood has been to engage their hearts deeply with the Father. She is so transparent about accepting God’s invitation in it all, even through a lot of pain and trial, but how it’s changed the way they live with and love each other and their two beautiful daughters. Lauren and I teared up several times throughout this interview as we’d recognize some “full circle” moments and could clearly see the hand of God and His faithfulness right in front of us! Don’t miss this one! I’ll talk to you soon!

“A Heart of Welcome” As we trust God with the unfolding of us, a heart of welcome opens up for the unfolding of others… I’ve shared these heart postures over the years in many settings and this is always the posture that’s the most fun to talk about because it’s the most fulfilling to LIVE! Something supernatural happens when we place our trust in God for our own wants, needs and desires and even the things that we dream and plan! We freely begin to open up with lives of WELCOME that invite others into our “familiar” with our Father. Here’s to the unfolding of all of us to be what God has always intended for us to be…His life extended to the world around us. His “welcome”! I’ll talk to you soon! - Christy

Season 2 Ep 39 - Postures of the Heart Part 4 by Christy Nockels
March 21, 2018
An Easter Invitation Once there was a cutting away and a grafting in, then…there must be an abiding. Today you’ll hear about a little pear tree that once helped me preach the gospel and how I wasn’t even ready for how it preached the gospel to me! We’re going to pause from our regular Heart Postures series to get our hearts around the full invitation that is Easter! Honestly, this could have easily been one of our heart-postures, the heart that abides…but I wanted to give Easter its own moment. I needed it and I hope it’s meaningful to you too! We will all most likely be joining Good Friday celebrations and Sunday Services, even maybe a picnic on the lawn…but the beauty of the gospel, front and center for us today is that right from your steering wheel or as you hit the pavement for your morning walk, you can experience Easter…the glorious in the mundane style! I’ll talk to you soon! - Christy

"The Heart that Receives" I’m so pleased to offer Part 3 of the Postures of the Heart series! Today we’ll talk about how vital it is that we ready ourselves to RECEIVE the life that Jesus offers us! He came that we would have life and have it abundantly! (John 10:10) Today we’ll remember together some beautiful things that His life truly offers us…we can so easily forget, can’t we? Talk to you soon! Also don't forget to check out our Patreon page where you can be apart of supporting the podcast. You get access to the podcasts a week before the rest of the world as well as journal prompts that go with each podcast, and all sorts of other great ways to engage as a community. We’re going to look at the next “heart posture” today which is the heart that LOOKS UP! It sounds too simple, right? I actually think that God did intend for it to be simple but we live in a noisy world where we can SEE everything and we have to learn to clear the view… What does it look like to learn the habit of looking up and inviting God to LOOK AT YOU? What do we need to be looking to Him for? We’ll also learn that MOVEMENT IS HEALING! Just like our bodies need to move to heal, our hearts must also move towards our Creator. Sometimes it just takes looking up! These are all things we’ll talk about today as we take in what it means to have a heart postured towards Him, gazing at Him with the eyes of our soul. Look up with me! - Christy

Today I’ll update you on what’s been going on with my health journey that I posted it about a few weeks ago and why I’ve been kind of laying low! It has been just that, a journey, and I’m trusting with every day that God knows exactly what is going on! In the meantime, I’m SO happy to be back at the podcast! This is a series that I have wanted to do for a really long time called “The Posture of the Heart” and I’m so excited to dive into it together! Just like the concentric circles and the “bullseye” that I’ve shared about before, there’s an order to how we posture our hearts before God that gives way for MORE in our lives. But first we must start with the consecrated heart…a heart completely surrendered to Him no matter what is or isn’t on the horizon. I’ll share how having to trust God totally with my health these past few months has caused me to land on this first posture... I hope wherever you are at in your own journey that God uses this to speak to you today in a really powerful way! I’ll talk to you soon!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I’m hoping you’ll enjoy this one as you hit the road to visit family this week! I’m so excited to introduce to you today, my brother @eric.hill_ from @withyouministries as we talk about what it looks like to truly rest and remember that God is WITH US and how He calls us to step into the “mystery” of trusting that Him being with us is actually ENOUGH. Eric is one of my favorite humans! Yes, he’s my brother but he’s also a kindred spirit and a very dear friend. I am so excited for you to hear from someone who has inspired MANY songs (and has even co-written some with me!) on my journey and has really been one of THE most influential people in my life through the years. Eric has helped the gospel come ALIVE in my life in both creative and memorable ways! Eric will be joining @nathannockels and I on the Night of Hope Christmas tour coming up in just a few weeks! We hope you’ll join us for it, it’s going to be an incredibly special and memorable night! All info for the tour dates here - Enjoy!

I could not be more thrilled to introduce to you today, my sis-in-love @mrskristinhill who many of you know as "Amaryllis Kristin" AND who now can be called "author" as we celebrate her first bible study release "Go and Tell No One - Remember and Rest in the Secret and the Sacred." You'll get to hear how this message bubbled up in Kristin in the "secret place" that we talk about a lot on #thegloriousinthemundane podcast! You'll hear her share about this amazing invitation to be known, understood, and even affirmed in the Secret and Sacred as you walk with Him and dig deeper still into His Word. What I love about this study is that you'll learn HOW to study the Bible for yourself in a really practical and uncomplicated way! You'll also hear the story behind the song "All That is To Come" from Be Held - another weighty prayer that has lingered in my heart for some time now...learning to trust God with my past, my current "tension" and my "all that is to come". Tickets available for Night of Hope-

It will challenge and I believe CHANGE your heart for worship! • Remember that you can become a "patron" of #thegloriousinthemundane through - meaning that you help us keep this podcast GOING plus you will receive the podcast EARLY each time and other perks like first dibs on VIP tickets coming up SOON and you'll get to contribute to a special Q & A podcast coming up! {Only "patrons" get to ask the questions!} I'll talk to you soon!

Be Held - available wherever you listen to music! First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all of your prayers and comments about our Annie Rose! We are so grateful to have had such a covering! She is doing amazing, back to being her sweet and spunky self, which feels miraculous to us, truly!! This podcast was recorded before all of that happened, so I just wanted to come around it here and thank you all again for going into battle for us! Today you'll hear the story behind the song, River of Grace, which started with me having a conversation with Annie Rose earlier this year... We'll delve into how surrender (though not easy) is really an invitation to rest at the riverside. When we cast our every care in that "river" we come back clean and free, so true and alive. Enjoy!
September 27, 2017
It’s such an exciting week for me as it’s RECORD RELEASE WEEK! Today you’ll hear more about the heart cry of this record, Be Held, Lullabies for the Beloved, releasing this Friday. You’ll hear about the scripture that has been imbedded into it, as well as hear the song, “In The Whisper”, which was the first full song that I wrote for this record seven months ago. The chorus says, “So let the thunder roll and I won’t be afraid ‘cause You roll the thunder and let the rain beat hard upon my roof and I’ll dance to it’s rhythm and let the mighty wind blow between the oak trees, as I let You steady me…cause You’re right here in the whisper, of my heart.” We’ll study life’s storms a little bit today, how even right in the middle of the most turbulent times of our lives we can invite the Master of the storm to say, “Peace! Be Still”, to every beat of our heart. We can also invite Him to usher in a “good work” right inside of the storm, one that we can pray falls on good soil in our hearts. Hope you’ll join us! I’ll talk to you soon.
September 6, 2017
Today we'll talk about how God can take even the smallest stirrings of our hearts and when we are faithful to sit with Him and listen and cultivate those stirrings, they can become a beautiful offering of His Kingdom coming to earth through us - displaying our "belovedness" to the world around us! Hear how the stirrings of my own life this past year have come together as an offering called "Be Held, Lullabies for the Beloved" and even hear the opening track called "His Banner Over Me is Love" - Enjoy!
August 30, 2017

So pull up a chair or pull through that carpool line, wherever you are I’m excited to jump in with you! I’ll talk to you soon!
August 15, 2017
Hello all you beautiful people and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast - season 2! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back with you as we have some beautiful “stirrings” to share as this season unfolds! Today will be a moment for us to reflect on the wonder of summer and the posture it brings and how we can intentionally carry that wonder and that posture with us as we walk into all that the Autumn brings. We’ll also dive deep into what it looks like, in the same way, to look back on our lives at the “wonder” threaded through - the ways that God has been calling to our hearts even since we were kids - and bring it back to the surface in our hearts…to look through it like a lens so we can see beyond the to-do list today, right into the glorious things that God wants us to see about Himself and even ourselves. You’ll also get to hear a sneak peak of the song I’ll be releasing THIS FRIDAY called BUILD MY LIFE! I’ll share around how I’ve been praying and living it like a prayer lately. My hope is that it will be a song that you’ll want to sing and pray in this season of your life as well! Enjoy!
May 11, 2017
Hello all you Beautiful People! Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast. I'm so happy to be dropping an episode in the merry month of May! It's great to connect with you, I've missed it! If you listened to my last podcast where I told you I'd be pausing for awhile because something was stirring in you'll get to hear how sometimes we get hit by what feels like a freight train right after we announce that something is stirring in us! All in all it can only mean that the Lord doesn't mind, in fact, He seems to prefer us in a place of utter dependency on Him as something begins to stir. In order to create, to move forward, to the Peonies that finally appeared in my flower bed just in time for Mother's Day week...I've learned that our frailty attracts His majesty. It's an invitation for Him to come in and BE ALL to us and through us. Today you'll get to hear the lovely Kay Warren talk about that very frailty...but what a sacred privilege it is to partner with God in bringing His Kingdom to His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Enjoy!
March 29, 2017
Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! I’m so excited to drop a little March episode on you to say “Happy Spring” to all of you! My family and I have been on Spring Break together in Southern California and what a beautiful beginning to Spring it has been! Today is a “Mini Me” episode updating you on where we’ve been and where we’re headed with the podcast and for those of you who have listened from the beginning, some more “bullseye” talk as we are reminded that small stirrings and starts are important and vital and that Jesus can work (in abundance) through what little we think we have today…as long as we are diligent to offer it to Him! I pray that you’re deeply encouraged today as you listen, that God knows right where you are, He sees you and loves you! I’ll talk to you soon! #thegloriousinthemudane
February 15, 2017
Hello all you beautiful people and welcome to the glorious in the mundane podcast! This is my first episode back for 2017 and I'll admit, it just took me a minute to get back in the flow. In fact, in this episode I just invite you into my process of sort of putting one foot in front of the other to even deliver this podcast today! I think sometimes we just forget what we are capable of and we end up keeping the creative process at bay or even just things we need to get done. I hope it encourages you right where you are that you have what it takes! Then, eavesdrop on a little "huddle" that happened at IF Gathering a few weeks ago about the #brokenandfreetour that @annvoskamp and @rebekahlyons are embarking on next week! We hope to see you there!
December 23, 2016
Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast! This is the last podcast of 2016 and what a year it has been!! Some of you are ready to kiss it goodbye...some of you are savoring every last moment! Either way, listen in as I sort of take us back to how this podcast even began this year, in that “bullseye” space with Jesus… We'll reflect together on the year and talk about what it looks like to physically HIDE for a few days as the year ends...but also how to stay in that hidden place with Jesus, even when you emerge into 2017! And, if you haven’t heard #thethrillofhope (My new Christmas album) you’ll get to enjoy a song from it! Merry Christmas everyone! Love to you and yours!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! Today I’m going to share around what it has been like to get to share some of these songs from The Thrill of Hope, live! I’ve been teary eyed as I’ve shared the stories and the songs and it has been equally as meaningful to get to speak to some of you out on the road after the concerts - of what these songs have meant to you! And…our special guest today is the one and only Chris Tomlin! Chris and I have been friends for 20 years now and so much life has happened in those years and its just fun for us to sit and reminisce! We’ll talk about what married life is like now for Chris and of course him becoming a father of two in the past 5 years. It has been a beautiful whirlwind to watch, let me tell you! I hope you enjoy hearing from someone whose songs have probably graced your car or your daily jog and got you communicating to a living God who loves you! Enjoy!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Today I am so excited to be sitting down with the lovely Ann Voskamp! I caught Ann while she was in town on her book release tour a few weeks ago while she was staying with our mutual friend Rebekah Lyons. I love this podcast because it was SO last minute, so off the cuff and REALLY late at night. We did actually have to edit out quite a bit of laughter because at one point we got a little bit delirious! I loved asking Ann what life was like BEFORE her first book…what was an everyday life like on the farm before there were things like book tours in her life! We also of course get into a little bit about her new book called The Broken Way, which I fell in love with the title RIGHT away! I love Ann’s poetic style of LIFE in general but also how raw she is and transparent. It’s really beautiful. Also, you’ll get to hear our special announcement at the end of the podcast, so don’t miss it! Thank you for tuning in today!

Welcome to the Glorious in the mundane podcast! Today I am so excited to share an interview with my friend and fellow songwriter Matt Redman. Nathan and I have been friends with Matt for about 16 years now and have been continually inspired and challenged by Matt’s leading and songwriting through the years. Known for songs like “Blessed Be Your Name” “Better is One Day” and of course “10,000 reasons.” Matt’s gifts have been just that - a gift to the Church and to homes around the nations as His songs help us say what we long and desire to say to our Savior. Nathan and I have been privileged through the years to get to travel with Matt and his band quite a bit and I always take note and learn from Matt’s leading. He truly understands the importance of leading God’s people in worship and I’ve never seen Him take it lightly, even when he’s tired from all his international flying, He always takes a moment to lead us as a team in prayer and reflection before we go out and lead the masses together. I so appreciate the depth of Matt’s songwriting and I hope you enjoy hearing some of the stories around some of his beloved songs! Enjoy!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane Podcast, I’m your host Christy Nockels. Today is SO special for me because I’m getting to share the first sneak peek or sneak LISTEN I should say into “The Thrill of Hope”, my first Christmas album! Today in this “mini me” episode, you’re going to hear the story behind the beautiful Amaryllis gracing the cover art and you’ll hear the SONG Amaryllis! I’ll unfold how this all started with a letter and a gift from my sister-in-love, Kristin Hill, and how it turned into a song! It’s a gorgeous and very meaningful picture, yet again, of God’s intentionality and creativity in a simple, house plant! His beauty and glory and His story, are truly all around us! Enjoy!

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane Podcast! Today we’re going to talk about the great lengths that our Father will go to to pull us back close to Himself. We might wander but He doesn’t let us wander for long before He sends us life-lines… I can’t even tell you how true Proverbs 16:9 has been these past few weeks, well, years actually... “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord directs their steps.” Even just this past week, we have had more plans unravel than I was prepared for! It took a lot of work sifting through the changes but In the end though, we ended up right where we needed to be. Like right now, I was supposed to be somewhere else even in this very moment and my plans unraveled to the degree that I’m now sitting on my front porch in a rocking chair enjoying the most gorgeous Fall weather I’ve seen this year. It’s just the best, unexpected surprise.  I hope that today you’re reminded that your Father will do what it takes to lead you back to Himself. I’m sure He grins at our plans at times and does think they are quite honorable but in the end, I think He loves to direct our steps to a place of rest more than anything.   I’ve learned that it’s ok to make plans and to move forward with plans but it’s also more than ok when they unravel… Enjoy today’s “Mini Me” with a special song by @benbannister that I hope you all adore!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! I am thrilled to be talking with She Reads Truth today! You’ll hear me around the table with my new friends Raechel Meyers and Amanda Bible Willams as we celebrate their first BOOK released this week! These two gals are actually home-girls too - by that I mean that we all live in the same city and I’ve also enjoyed getting to be on the road this year with them for the Lifeway Women’s Event called Abundance! We’re going to be in Frisco, TX this month so if you’re in Texas, come see us!  Today you’ll get to hear how Raechel and Amanda became a team and what it has looked like to work together and really create break-through resources for women, men and now kids as well! Learn all about it in today’s conversation around the table with She Reads Truth!

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Thank you for tuning in! Today you’re going to hear from my sweet friend Rebekah Lyons! Rebekah and I have only really been friends for over a year or so but we were fast friends and have so enjoyed living in the same small town and even going to the same church! You’re going to hear us talk about a new adventure that we have embarked on together as well as the book, You are Free (releasing in February) that Rebekah has been working on for months and months while we, her friends, have gotten to be her cheering section! Also, Rebekah is launching a FREE study today that I want to make sure that you know about it. It’s called “Be Still & Know”. You can find out all about this on her website  I hope you all have a glorious day! Enjoy!

Hello and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane! Today you’re going to experience what I have affectionally been calling a “Mini Me” - that means today is a shorter episode and it’s just me! As I shared on the episode a few weeks ago, this is kind of my book at this point in my life! I have stories that I’d love to to share from life, marriage, motherhood, ministry and I figure, why not? I think it’s a gift that we can spread Truth and our Jesus stories around for all to hear and I want to take full of advantage of it! Today you’ll hear me share more about living from your our true selves and what it means for us and honestly, what it means for other people around us! You’ll hear the story behind a song very near and dear to my heart called “For Your Splendor”. I pray that you are encouraged right where you are today to live from your true self…even the broken places of your story…so that you might see others! You have so much more to offer than you even realize! Enjoy and have a glorious day! Christy

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Thank you so much for tuning in and for sharing this podcast with your friends! It has been so much fun for us to watch who all is listening around the globe, it has astounded us how God is using it! We’re so grateful! I’m so pleased to have gotten to sit down with Bob Goff for this episode! I’ve actually been holding on to this episode for quite some time as it was actually my FIRST podcast ever! Bob was SO gracious to come out to the house and sit around the table with me and some of my team. We had a blast hearing his stories that continue to challenge me to this day! Bob sent me a package this week…the kids have opened a Bob Goff care package before and so this time they recognized the fun, frizzy paper, the colored balloons and taffy that cushions whatever it is he has sent your way! In this case…it was a large, red, Christmas jingle bell ornament to celebrate that our Christmas record project is funded and is having the finishing touches put on it even now! We are so beyond grateful for everyone who has invested in this project. We pray that it is as special to all of you as it is to us! Enjoy today’s episode as I connect around the table with my friend, Bob Goff and have a glorious day! ~Christy

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast everyone! Today my special guest is the lovely Beth Moore and I could not be more thrilled about it! Beth has been a dear friend through the years and I'm excited for you to hear from her and even how we met years ago and what she's meant in my life. I'm so honored that she took the time to sit with me and catch up. I'm also honored that Ms Beth ordered my favorite Mexican food called Lupe Tortilla (in Houston) for our after podcast treat! I love Beth so much and it was such a joy to get to be with her and her sweet team of ladies at Living Proof! Today you'll also hear me give a tribute to my mom and dad, who just celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary. We got to celebrate with them in Oklahoma this past weekend. We gathered with family and their college reunion friends to surprise them with a night to remember. My Mom and Dad were my first worship leaders as a child. The first people to point me to Jesus. Even in trying seasons, as a couple, I watched them surrender everything to Jesus, which was the best thing I could have seen growing up...surrender. Enjoy a "homecoming" today as you'll hear clips from the anniversary party, the songs we sang, the fun we had... This will go down as one of my favorites! Enjoy!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Thank you for tuning in week after week! I have been so humbled to get to sit down with so many sweet and amazing people over the past few months, it has been like drinking from a well! Today is no exception. I’m so glad that if you’ve never heard of Ellie Holcomb that you’re going to be introduced to her and her music or maybe if you’ve listened to Ellie for quite some time, you’ll get a little glimpse into her heart and her world. Ellie and her husband Drew (of Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors) are both incredibly talented musicians and singer/songwriters and you’ll even hear Ellie featured on many of Drew’s albums as well. Ellie’s dad, Brown Bannister was the producer of many early (and very successful) Christian artists like the Imperials, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman so she was raised around good, soul music her whole life. So it’s no surprise that Ellie just knows how to skillfully mesh the Word of God with that kind of music…the kind that seeps into your soul. You’ll also hear me share around the thought (and the scripture) that “all is ours in Christ” - which unfolds more of this posture of sitting in that bullseye place and living and even loving from this place. You’ll hear me even share some vulnerable moments as a Mom, leading my girls through life’s hardest question as a woman… Enjoy!

Hello and welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Today, you’ll get to hear some random thoughts around Sabbath and what that has meant to me lately both as a state of mind and literally physically learning how to HAVE as Sabbath each week. Having an actual Sabbath puts this whole “Bullseye living” thing in a whole new light! You’ll hear about our family putting it to practice this past Sunday…just a little glorious humor for your mundane today. You’ll also hear about a little adventure that I recently embarked on with a couple of friends and how God showed up and surprised me in the sweetest way. And I’m also thrilled to play a song today on the podcast! I promise to do more of this in the future, including my own songs, but today you will get to hear what I think is one of the most beautiful songs ever! It was written by two friends of mine, Bryan Brown and today’s guest, Audrey Assad! Audrey is a singer, songwriter, worship leader, wife, mom and entrepreneur. She’s an independent artist like myself now but has recently started her own record label with her husband and is totally killing it. (Mom, that means she’s doing amazing!) I hope you enjoy hearing her honesty and transparency about everything in her life but particularly about becoming a mom. It’s truly insightful and beautiful. If you didn’t know Audrey before this, I hope this makes you a fan! Enjoy!

Welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Today you’ll hear some rumblings around my first Christmas record currently in the making! I can’t tell you how life giving it has been, especially during some very dark days in our country, to be writing around the HOPE of Jesus. You will hear some familiar classics on this project but you’ll also hear what I hope will be some new classics centered in the person of JESUS. And…one my favorite moments of the little Texas podcast run that I did last month was getting to hang at the IF Gathering offices in Austin and sit down with my friend, Jennie Allen! Jennie is the author of “Anything” and “Restless”, two books that I know without a doubt that have literally changed people’s lives. On top of being an author and a speaker, Jennie is a mover and a shaker and is the leader of IF Gathering... a movement that exists to equip women to live in the full purpose God has for them. She’s also a Mama of 4 and wife to Zac and over all about as feisty as they come…and I’ve come to love that about her and I know you will too. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast, I hope you are having an amazing week! I’m so happy to have gotten to sit down with the lovely Jamie Ivey a few weeks ago on my Texas podcast run… Jamie is beloved in the IF Gathering community of women and is one of those people who I share numerous mutual friends with but we have never really gotten to sit and chat. I met Jamie at the first IF Gathering in Austin, TX when I led worship with her husband Aaron literally only a few hours after meeting him! They are an incredibly influential team of a couple in Austin but now God is literally using Jamie all over the place through her own podcast called The Happy Hour.  In my earliest moments of breathing out the idea of wanting to do a podcast, several of my friends said, “you have to listen to Jamie!” I did, and was so inspired by her style and her ease and the way she has championed so many incredible women who are doing so many incredible things! Jamie has been a cheerleader to me through this process, even a couple of texts like “oh my gosh, I’m so proud of you!” and it has meant the world to me! I think the posture in starting anything is to look at who is already doing it well and LEARN from them! So, my interview with Jamie today you’ll find is 100% true respect and intrigue for what made her want to start a podcast and really just me being truly blown away by how well she’s going about it! I hope you enjoy my time around the table today with Jamie Ivey.  Find out about all things Jamie Ivey on her website You can find a link to the song Holding You Together that I spoke about here:

Hello and welcome to the Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Today I’ll talk a little bit about the week we have just had in our nation - one we will never forget - I’m sure there are all kinds of prayers and songs rising up from the people of God over this but one that kept coming to my heart was a song that I wrote several years ago called “By Our Love”… Brothers, let us come together Walking in the Spirit There’s much to be done We will come reaching, out from our comforts And they will know us by our love… Sisters, we were made for kindness We can pierce the darkness As He shines through us We will come reaching With a song of healing And they will know us by our love The time is now, Come Church arise Love with His hands, See with His eyes Bind it around you Let it never leave you And they will know us by our love Children, you are hope for justice Stand firm in the truth now Set your hearts above You will be reaching Long after we’re gone And they will know you by your love… I’m so grateful to say that my guest today is the beautiful Lauren Chandler. She is such a dear friend to me. Lauren and her husband Matt live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area with their 3 children, 2 horses and 2 dogs, and Matt pastors The Village Church where Lauren regularly leads worship. Lauren is a wonderful woman, a lover of Jesus, a singer, songwriter and now author…but my favorite thing selfishly is that she’s my friend. Today you’ll get to hear how God intersected our lives at just the right moment about 14 years ago and how God used her in such a sweet way to change my life. Enjoy!

Hello beautiful people and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast! Thank you so much or tuning in last week. We have been having an absolute blast putting all of this together! In fact, I just got back home from a week long podcast tour in Texas. We visited Dallas, Austin and Houston with a quick pit stop at the Magnolia Silos to grab us a Cowboy Coffee and some inspiration of course… In today’s episode I’m going to share one of my favorite stories from this journey and honestly one of my favorite stories about my husband, Nathan. You’ll get to hear more about how God began to come after my heart like never before in terms of trust and surrender. The thing was, I thought I was surrendered to Him but really it was just the beginning of me understanding how to truly open my hands and my heart to Him. It’s also sweet after all this time to look back and see God’s faithfulness! It’s so hard and scary to give up precious things but God has a way of giving them back 100 fold somehow... Also, I’m so pleased to say that my special guest today is the gorgeous Angie Smith! Angie and I have been friends for quite some time, long before she started a blog and became an author! You’re going to get to hear two friends sit and remember and laugh and marvel at God’s faithfulness. I also think you’ll enjoy hearing how we met and even hear about a special role that she played in our lives before she became an author! I don’t think you would be able to guess it if you tried! Enjoy!

Hello there beautiful people and welcome to The Glorious in the Mundane podcast! I’m pleased to announce that today’s special guest is a new friend of mine, Miss Annie Downs. I’ve gotten to know her over the past few years as we’ve gotten to serve together on the platform but also because we have several mutual friends here in the Nashville area. Annie released a book just this past April called Looking for Lovely. I read it while on a plane headed to the Cayman Islands, a getaway I take with close friends every year, and it was just what I needed to open my heart and mind to what God would have for me as I unplugged. Annie’s “voice” is just effortless to take in as a reader and that means a lot to me since I have attention span issues, ha ha. It was a joy to read and it made me think through some things that I had not thought through before. I always love it when I discover an age old truth for the first time or at least get the chance to think about it in a whole new way. I’m grateful that Annie has been faithful to share her story. My opinion is that you can’t truly learn from someone unless they are being honest. Every good teacher or even storyteller has to incorporate enough transparency for the message to unfold in the way its intended. Annie was brave to do that and actually does that when you’re just chatting with her as well. It’s refreshing… So here’s Annie and I at my kitchen table in Franklin, TN. Enjoy!

Well, as I mentioned on Instagram, I couldn’t be more giddy about the launch of this podcast! It has been a long time dream of mine to make this happen, one that I hadn’t mentioned to very many people. I honestly didn’t think it was a possibility for me so it’s just so exciting to actually see it unfold! I want to thank my husband Nathan for encouraging me from the moment I breathed out the idea and to my manager, Matt Guice for literally carrying it into fruition. I’m every grateful. In this segment you’ll be able to listen to the story behind the theme, how it all came about several years ago and why it has burned on my heart all of these years. Any time I get to teach, I usually teach on it because it’s something that I find that most everyone can relate to… We all sense that we are made for more and we have dreams and plans for Kingdom things but often we work from a place of exhaustion because we’re ultimately looking to ourselves and our performance to keep ourselves “on the map” in terms of relevance, culture and spirituality. I’d love to share just from my own experience and honestly, my own failure at times to trust God through the years as my Provider…but how God really got a hold of me several years ago and changed my mentality and honestly how I think and process "big things” and how I see the seemingly small things in a whole different way. What you’ll find in “The Glorious in the Mundane” podcast is a segment from me each time, sharing around this theme, then we’ll dive in with some very special people along the way to see what’s going on in their world but to also come around this theme in their own stories in some ways. I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I am! Thank you so much for tuning in... Talk to you soon, Christy
