Today in the guest chair we have Dr. Lakeysha Hallmon (also known as Dr. Key), Founder, and CEO of The Village Market. I was blessed to cross paths with Dr. Hallmon at Summit 21; shout out to past Side Hustle Pro guest Jewel Burks Solomon for introducing us!  Dr. Key started her career in education, but she wanted more freedom and flexibility. She wanted to be able to take her students outside. Soon got the idea for what was then called The Village Cafe, an economical vehicle that empowers the Black community through cooperative economics. From that seed, The Village Market has grown into an economic vehicle for #blackownedbusiness like no other. Prior to launching The Village Market, Dr. Hallmon had no experience at all planning events. She had never even booked a venue for an event, much less create her own event with hundreds of vendors, but she had a vision and she wasn’t scared to make it come to life.  The Village Market is now not only a market, but also offers summits, trainings, and workshops for small Black-owned businesses.  Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher   Links mentioned in this episode Side Hustle Pro Live Show The Village Market  Who Moved My Cheese  Evently  Calendly  Side Hustle Pro Newsletter Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements Join our Facebook Community If you’re looking for a community of supportive side hustlers who are all working to take our businesses to the next level, join us here: http://sidehustlepro.co/facebook Attend Side Hustle Pro Live! Today in the guest chair we have Sonia Lewis, the CEO of the Student Loan Doctor, LLC. Her business has been recognized as the first African American and woman-owned student loan repayment company in the country.  You might be surprised to hear that before starting the Student Loan Doctor, Sonia didn’t have personal budgeting discipline, she was living paycheck-to-paycheck, and grappling with her own student loan debt. Even with a background and passion for higher education, Sonia was frustrated with the process of how to get information about her student loans and knew she had to do something.  She worked on her personal finances and eventually started working with clients to help them manage their student loan debt. Through trials, testing, and gathering feedback, Sonia now runs a six-figure business and employs a team of full time and contractors.     Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher  This episode is brought to you by: FreshBooks Try FreshBooks FREE for 30 days. I am interrupting the pre-scheduled program for August, which was the Side Hustle Series, to bring you a quick entrepreneur diaries update to share my experience on the TODAY Show!! I was a guest for the “Passion to Paycheck” series during the week of August 19th.  It was a surreal moment for me to see my three years of hard work on Side Hustle Pro lead me to this incredible opportunity. While I watched the beautiful opening montage the TODAY team put together for my introduction, I was reminded of the journey that has led up to this.  In this episode, I share how this opportunity came to be, the behind-the-scenes of what it’s like to be on the Today Show, and the lessons I learned from all of it. Thank you for listening and sharing. There would be no Side Hustle Pro if no one listened, so huge THANK YOU for listening! This episode kicks off The Side Hustle Summer Series! This August, I’m doing a series all about side hustling and breaking down: How to not let fear cripple you when you’re starting your side hustle  How to build the foundation of your business even when it’s still a side hustle  Everything I learned about balancing my side hustle with my 9 to 5How to market your side hustle for FREE when you’re just getting started How to finance your side hustle before it’s making Money (AND how to start monetizing) In this kickoff episode, I get open and vulnerable about my journey from side hustle to a profitable business and talk about the disparaging thoughts I used to tell myself. I was so afraid of people thinking I was a failure because I didn’t secure a job offer after earning my Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan. I eventually learned that fear was holding me back, instead of helping me grow. I hope that sharing my thoughts and how I reframed them helps you change your thinking and kickstart your side hustle.     Click here to grab your free recap!  I’m excited about this series! Meet our new Entrepreneur-In-Residence! Those of you who are longtime listeners may remember that at the beginning of Side Hustle Pro, we had an Entrepreneur-In-Residence by the name of Meiko Drew and we followed her journey for an entire year. Well, today we are bringing back the Entrepreneur-in-Residence feature. That’s right, starting with this episode, we are going to chronicle the life of an emerging entrepreneur as she launches and scales her business. This woman happens to be a dear friend of mine, in fact, my best friend since high school, and her name is Lisa Pegram. Now, if it were up to me, I would have had her in the chair a long time ago, but she prefers to grind behind the scenes. But I think she is so dope, and such a hustler, I finally convinced her to do it.  Listen to hear: How she used her education and jobs to develop ideas for several different side hustles  The research process she used to launch her cutting edge beauty product Why she uses analytics to drive business decisions Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher  This episode is brought to you by: Gusto Gusto offers modern, easy payroll, benefits, and HR to small businesses across the country. Today in the guest chair we have Andrea Pitter Campbell, Founder and Head Designer of Pantora Bridal, Pantora Mini and the Andrea Campbell Collection. Andrea’s desire to merge typically incompatible components has created an unprecedented perspective on bridal wear.  Andrea took her first step towards fashion at 12 years old, creating the name “Pantora” in preparation for admission to the High School of Fashion Industries. She later graduated and attended the famed Fashion Institute of Technology.  Andrea went the corporate route at first, holding several corporate designer positions as she ran her design business on the side. In 2013, armed with sharp negotiation skills and sheer determination, she convinced landlords to take a chance on her and was able to open the Pantora Bridal showroom. The road since wasn’t always easy, but Andrea never wavered. Andrea’s mission to represent the underrepresented in mainstream bridal led the Pantora brand to develop a cult following and be carried by several retailers nationally.  Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher  This episode is brought to you by: Skillshare Skillshare is offering Side Hustle Pro listeners 2 months of unlimited Skillshare classes for FREE. Today we are back with another Side Hustle Spotlight, featuring a woman who is still very much in the side hustle grind or recently left their job to go full time. Today’s spotlight is Tomara Watkins, the Founder of Loza Tam, an eCommerce brand of satin-lined headwraps that are handcrafted in Ghana by women entrepreneurs.  Tomara (AKA “Tam”) is an eCommerce entrepreneur who has over 10 years of digital marketing experience growth hacking CPG and beauty brands like Bevel, FORM, and Heat Free Hair.  She’s traveled to 10 countries on the continent of Africa so far and as you’ll hear in this episode, it was when Tomara went to Howard University that she fell in love with all things Africa. After traveling to Ghana, the bold prints and colors spoke to her, and she came up with the idea of African print, satin-lined headbands, and head wrap turbans.  Determined to build a business with women, like the women in her family, she ensures that all of Loza Tam’s products are crafted by women entrepreneurs, so they can support their families and continue to plant the same seeds that were planted in her as a young adult.  Tomara has grown Loza Tam to be a six-figure eCommerce brand and she is passionate about supporting and teaching other women how to generate revenue online. Today in the guest chair we have Zakia Blain, the Founder of FCKbeingFAT (FBF Fitness). With no background in fitness, but plenty of background in every fad diet and weight loss trick around, Zakia simply wanted to inspire others, while helping them lose weight the right way. Through the creation of her international FBF Weight loss Challenge and FBF Fitness apparel, she has managed to do just that. While on the journey to expand FBF Fitness, Zakia discovered that her audience was interested in shapewear. So rather than promote another company’s brand, she decided to create her own and, with that, FBF Fitness evolved into FBF Body. The highly sought after shapewear has taken on a cult following of its own, largely in part due to Zakia’s open and honest method of sharing herself actually wearing it and looking amazing while doing so. In today’s episode, we will learn how she got started, how she works through having a brain disorder to grow her business, and the hard lessons she’s learned along the way about hiring and more. Today in the guest chair, we have Mrs. Taffi Ayodele the co-founder of Thando’s, a Lagos and NY based fashion company. Thando’s shoes are foldable ballerina flats, giving women a compact and comfortable shoe option that they can easily take with them on the go. Thando's is the brainchild of Taffi and her husband J.G. They met while pursuing their MBAs at the NYU Stern School of Business. Their love for each other, love for Africa and love for art, inspired the couple to create an innovative footwear line that facilitates a modern woman’s busy lifestyle while supporting African artists. Thando’s provides a platform for creative talent on the African continent by crowd-sourcing designs from African men and women who would otherwise have limited opportunities to design for a global audience. How amazing is that? That said, it was a lot of work to bring the brand to life. As Taffi shares in this episode, it wasn’t easy picking up and moving to a continent that she’d never lived on, plus learn to navigate the business in a completely different culture and navigate the highs and lows of that. But Taffi and JG were determined and they have created a remarkable product and are making their footprint across the globe (pun intended). Today’s spotlight is Dr. Danita Nikki Brooks, the Founder of Zen in a Jar, a zen-focused home and body care line. Dr. Nikki is an entrepreneur from Washington, DC. As you’ll hear in this episode, while working full time in government, and pursuing her Doctor of Science in Information Systems & Communication, she startled hustling. Side hustling that is. Today in the guest chair is Briana Owens, the Founder of Spiked Spin. Briana is the perfect example that when you have a vision in your heart it doesn't matter what else exists in the market or what you think the competition might be you have to go after it. For example, by no means does New York City have a shortage of Fitness classes, but after 5 years of spinning across the city, avid cycling fan Briana decided there was a void—one that she was meant to fill. So, balancing her full-time job in advertising she received her certification in spin and got to work.Briana wanted to create an experience specifically with women of color in mind. And so—Spiked Spin was born. Spiked Spin classes are packed with a diverse array of young women and men committed to getting their bodies and lives together. On today's episode, I talk with Briana about how she got started, but also why it’s so important to have a spirit of discernment, a practice of being in tune with what's on your heart and following what's in your soul. We also talk about the importance of checking your ego and proving out your concept, before you take on debt or do things just for show. Today in the guest chair, we have Jessica Spaulding, Founder of Harlem Chocolate Factory. Jessica grew up in a home where sugar was not on the menu in no shape or form. But putting her entrepreneurial skills to the test early on, she struck a deal with her mother: if she could make her own candy, then she would also be allowed to eat it. As a Food Network enthusiast she learned to make all types of chocolate at just 10 years old, a passion that would inspire her to eventually launch Harlem Chocolate Factory. At Harlem Chocolate Factory, Jessica produces bars and brownies inspired by the rich ethnic heritage of her native Harlem community. Jessica emphasizes quality, handcrafting her products and responsibly sourcing her chocolate. Now, outsiders discouraged Jessica from starting her own business, saying that there was no money to be made. She was determined, however, and in college decided to take a shot at starting a chocolate company. While she was not successful at first, it encouraged her to take time to learn core business skills, a step that has paid off in the long run. On today’s episode, you’ll learn: How Jessica bounced back from business failure and created success from the ashes The resources and competitions she participated in to buy supplies and make samples How she connected with a mentor that helped her prepare for competitions and think through elements of her business How she found partners that gave her the financial stability to build her dream and take her business to the next level And how she is continuing to develop her business as a young entrepreneur working through challenges and missteps Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher This episode is brought to you by: Mented Cosmetics. Today in the guest chair we have Brittany Hennessy. Brittany is a marketer and the author of INFLUENCER: Building Your Brand in the Age of Social Media. She was the first-ever Senior Director of Influencer Strategy & Talent Partnerships for Hearst Magazines Digital Media, and the co-founder of Carbon. Before reaching out to Brittany, I read her book and I found it extremely helpful. This year, I found myself on the receiving end of more requests for brand collaborations, partnerships and influencer posts that I ever had before. I used the INFLUENCER book templates to confidently negotiate counter offers or decline opportunities that were not right for my business without burning a bridge. So, as usual, when I discover something useful, I want to share it with you guys. I think that anyone can benefit from Brittany’s knowledge about influencer marketing. Especially if you have plans to build out and monetize your personal brand or ever work with another brand for any reason, for example having them sponsor an event, a podcast, a blog, or if you are invited to speak on a panel, this will be the episode to consult. Today in the guest chair is Catherine Soliz-Rey. Catherine is a Self Transformation Strategist for Women and the founder of the Fiercer Woman brand, where she empowers and motivates women with ways to get past their blocks and become their fiercest selves in life and business. Fun fact, when I first started my blog back in 2015, Catherine was one of the first people I come across. I came across Catherine when I was starting out in side hustling. I was attracted to her authentic approach to sharing marketing and content creating tips. She is personally someone I have purchased content from and learned from, and I always like sharing some of my best kept secrets with the side hustle pro audience, so I had to have her in the guest chair. Today, I still look to Catherine for motivation to not let fear of what might go wrong hold me back and just do it. Catherine has used her marketing expertise to train hundreds of entrepreneurs how to build their brand and do the personal development work necessary to breakthrough. She has done this through online training programs, courses, and live speaking events. Helping women elevate so they can step into their true potential, and live to the fullest is her primary goal. Today in the guest chair is the one and only, Dr. Joy Harden Bradford. Dr. Joy Harden Bradford is a Licensed Psychologist, Speaker, and the host of the wildly popular mental health podcast, Therapy for Black Girls. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, her Master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Arkansas State, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Georgia. Her work focuses on making mental health topics more relevant and accessible for Blackwomen and she specializes in creating spaces for Black women to have fuller and healthierrelationships with themselves and others. She has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine, Bustle, Huffington Post, Black Enterprise, Women’s Health, BuzzFeed, Teen Vogue, and Essence. This episode is so important to me because I am passionate about breaking the stigma of mental health. Like any other part of our body, we need to take care of our mind. And as Founders, sometimes we think what we are experiencing is unique to us, so we go through a lot of internal torment trying to figure things out on our own. As I talk about with Dr. Joy, sometimes I have felt like, I don’t need to speak to anyone, it’s not that serious. But on today’s episode we get into: Why you shouldn’t wait to reach a breaking point before seeking support The truth about self care and why you can’t “self-care” yourself into not going to therapy What self sabotage looks like and how to overcome it How to thrive as a black founder As a reminder, this episode is in no way a substitute to seeking help from a licensed therapist in your state. I feel like I have so much going on in my head and it’s hard to unpack it or know how to unpack it in the way that will be most helpful to others. So I put it off. Here’s the deal: I have good days, I have bad days, I have days where I feel like I know exactly what I’m doing, where I want to go, and the path I need to take to get there. On other days, I feel like, I don’t what the hell am I doing. I melt into a ball of sadness and confusion because I feel like, I don’t know what this is all leading me to. I’m just being honest. On those days, I feel like I’m supposed to have it all figured out and I don’t and I’m a disappointment to myself and others.Clearly, you can see that I’m very hard, too hard on myself.I’m working on that.So in this episode, I’m going to share with you what I know right now: What’s worked, what hasn’t worked 9 months in, what i’m still figuring out, and what I’m encouraged by.I talk about how I’m dealing with loneliness, imposter syndrome, the highs and lows of having my own business, learning to sell my services, and so much more! Get into it here. Have you ever been in the airport, walked into a store or restaurant, and wondered who owns it or how that particular store got such prime real estate? Well, today’s guest will shed light on an industry I personally knew very little about. And I promise you you will never look at an airport news, gift shop, or restaurant the same way again. Her name is Mary Morgan and she is the President of Morgan Group Ventures, Inc. Mary entered the airport arena initially as a consultant to the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority which sparked an interest in airport concessions. After five years of management consulting, Mary decided she wanted to focus solely on concessions and obtained her first inline retail location (Pen & Prose Boutique), which she continues to operate today. Following five years of retail operations, Mary entered a partnership with HMSHost where she has been able to jointly bid, win and operate food and beverage and news and gift locations within airports. Today, Mary operates independently and in conjunction with HMSHost multiple locations in National, Dulles and BWI Airports. Mary has also operated concessions in Philadelphia International Airport. Prior to founding Morgan Group Ventures, Mary worked in Fortune 100 companies providing financial services, strategy, process redesign and information technology services. Up until this year, the last quarter of every year always felt like the most stressful for me. This year is the first year that that's not the case for me. This year, I got better at getting things done, even under pressure. In this episode I’m sharing some of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started out side hustling and what I've learned from them. It’s important that you understand where I and most successful side hustlers went wrong and what I did to turn it around. These mistakes could have easily been avoided if I had only known how to create a realistic goals setting system. Now, I've mastered the "less talk, more hustle" approach, and it’s what has gotten me results. I spend less time thinking and talking about what I'm going to do and more time actually doing it. I learned to cut out all the fluff that makes you FEEL like you're doing something (to-do lists, buying fancy planners, well organized trello boards) and get down to business. By making these mistakes, I also learned some key lessons as to why most side hustlers aren’t making the progress they anticipated. You’re probably not accomplishing your goal, because you bit off too much or not taking action because you want everything to be perfect and are afraid of making a mistake. If you want more guidance on how to actually get things done, consider learning my signature Goal Getter Action Plan. I can show you how to run a side business in 7 hours per week. In this episode, I break down how you can quit stalling and make moves on your side hustle. Today’s REWIND guest is Nailah Ellis-Brown. I first heard about Nailah from my roommates, Nydia and Stefanie at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. They supported her business as part of the MBAs Across America program that they participated in (and you’ll hear more about this in the episode). I’ve been fascinated by Nailah every since. A Black Woman from Detroit with Jamaican roots, Ellis-Brown has made a name for herself as part of the Detroit manufacturing renaissance. Her distinctive hibiscus Ellis Island Tea, based on a family recipe and bottled in an urban 4,000 square foot plant, has expanded sales into six airports and locations across 12 Midwestern states along with shelf space in regional retailer Meijer, Whole Foods and most recently Sam Club stores. She’s been named one of the Forbes 30 Under 30, has been featured on MSNBC for a small business makeover, and she’s only getting started. Her plan was to go to school, work on wall street then quit and be an entrepreneur. But when she realized the student loan hustle, she wanted no parts of it. On today’s episode, Nailah gets into: How she’s been able to brew and bottle a recipe steeped in family tradition How she went from selling out of her trunk to selling in Sam’s clb Learning the science behind her How she took a leap of faith and started over from scratch How investing in herself and her business led to big rewards in major brand partnership Plus how she’s continuing to grow her brand Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher and Google Play Links mentioned on this episode Ellis Island Tea Michigan State Product Center Think & Grow Rich Book Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements If you’re looking for a community of supportive side hustlers who are all working to take our businesses to the next level, join us here: http://sidehustlepro.co/facebook Social Media Info Connect on Instagram: Ellis Island Tea – @EllisIslandTea Side Hustle Pro – @sidehustlepro #SideHustlePro

It’s Nicaila here with another special REWIND edition of Side Hustle Pro. Take a listen to this best of episode with Courtney Sanders. This is one of my favorite episodes because Courtney is so thorough! She is an entrepreneur who started making money online by packaging her expertise in productivity systems and goal achievement and has impacted thousands of people. But, even though she was starting to make 4 then 5 figures monthly in her business, she didn’t just quit her job. She planned it out, she was prepared and she really set a high standard for herself of what she needed to achieve before she would allow herself to quit. So Courtney’s episode is one that I came back to many, many times in 2017. I would literally re-listen to it over and over again as I prepared to leave my job. 1) Because it was like talking to a life coach and 2) It was a reminder that I could not just quit impulsively and expect success, I needed to establish a plan. In this this episode, Courtney breaks down: The inspiration for Think And Grow Chick and when she realized she could help other women think and grow into their best selves How she grew her company into a profitable business How she juggles her side hustle with her full time job Financial wisdom she has learned along the way When she knew it was time to take her side hustle to the next level Links mentioned on this episode REGISTER for Podcast Moguls Masterclass Think And Grow Chick website Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements Side Hustle Pro is now over 6100 members strong. Today in the guest chair we have self described accidental entrepreneurs Chioma and Uchenna, the Founders of Cee Cee's Closet NYC. What started with selling cute clutches that were brought back from Nigeria has expanded into a full fledged business incorporating products like headwraps, backpacks, and leather goods. Being a black-women-owned business to them meant having an opportunity to create highly functional products that tap into their Nigerian cultural heritage and specific needs. This is especially true when you think about their silk-lined headwraps. As two naturalistas, they wanted to remove the step of having to wear a bonnet or silk scarf underneath our headwraps to protect their hair. Therefore, they created a product that addressed that particular need. Most importantly, Chioma and Uchenna view Cee Cee's Closet NYC as an opportunity to have a positive economic impact on Nigeria. All of their products are made locally in Nigeria. They are making an impact and building a legacy at the same time.   Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher and Google Play Links mentioned on this episode Quickbooks How I Built This Dreams in Drive Masters of Scale Harvard Business Review Accelerate With Google Skillshare Miracle Morning Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements Side Hustle Pro is now over 5900 members strong. Today in the guest chair we have former Wall Street analyst turned Founder and CEO Melissa Butler. Melissa is a visionary who challenges the standard of beauty through the products, pricing, and ingredients in her brand, The Lip Bar. You may have come across The Lip Bar since it’s become a celebrity fave shared by the likes of Taraji P. Henson on Instagram and it is now sold in select Target stores. But before there was Target, there was just Melissa and her business partner, squeezed into a tiny bedroom in Brooklyn. Melissa launched The Lip Bar from her kitchen. She describes her move from stocks and bonds to beauty as a natural one, not because she loved makeup, but because she was frustrated with the beauty industry and ready to create a solution. Not only that, but she was tired of the harsh chemicals in ordinary cosmetics, so she created a vegan and cruelty-free product line. On today’s show, Melissa shares why she was passionate about disrupting the narrative on beauty and creating a line of cosmetics that are safe and affordable. She juggled a coveted career at Under Armour for as long as she could while side hustling as a lifestyle influencer, but finally stepped out on her own in 2017. Today in the guest chair we have the one and only Beth Diana Smith, an interior design KING that side hustled for years before venturing out on her own. Beth possessed a natural ability for creating functionality, efficiency, and organization from a very young age, so she pursued degrees in business and accounting to satiate her love of processes and business strategy. After completing her M.B.A., she spent more than a decade in corporate finance in companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Viacom honing her skills in understanding clients, analytics, budgeting, and a keen attention to detail.During her years in corporate finance Beth was also a homeowner.  It was during that time that she discovered an appreciation of color, pattern, and texture; a love for beautiful things and problem solving; and a passion for interior design. Beth decided to pursue her passion, launch her interior design company and began attending the New York School of Interior Design. Today, Beth, her work, and her design advice have been featured on TV and in various print and online publications including NBC, HGTV, Vogue.com, EBONY, Design*Sponge, and The New York Times. Today on the show, I am introducing you to my best kept secret: the woman who has taught me to turn my knowledge into a valuable, premium course. Her name is Danielle Leslie and she founded Culture Add™ Labs to help companies and individuals uncover their Culture Add™ and launch profitable products online. She is also the creator of #CourseFromScratch, an 8-week online intensive that helps people create & launch their profitable & poppin’ online courses. She has been an online marketer in Silicon Valley for almost 10 years and helped personal brands & influencers, including Guy Kawasaki, earn collectively millions of dollars by launching their online courses. One of the reasons I wanted to have Danielle on the show is because her framework for course launches addresses our common human tendency to get stuck on the preparation part and delay your launch. She teaches people like myself to not fall into the trap of creating your course content all before you’re ready to launch and instead, focus on what she calls the 4Cs. She breaks this all down in her masterclass, which you can sign up for at SideHustlePro.co/CourseFromScratch if you are interested. In my own case, I have wanted to launch a podcast training program for almost a year, and I have been dragging my feet because: I was overwhelmed with the thought of breaking all of the content down I knew it was really valuable information that could make people thousands of dollars and thus I knew I would need to charge a premium price point (and I was SCARED to set that premium price point) I turned to Danielle and with her guidance, I launched my podcast accelerator as an invite only program in February and it’s been an AMAZING experience so far. What I’ve learned from Danielle is: Focusing on creating a course that truly meets your student’s needs, means creating it with their active feedback, not creating it in a vacuum without their input I’ve also learned that it’s not going to be perfect the first time you do it so you have to get down to business and start, so you can improve. On today’s episode, Danielle gets into: Her straight line to the cash formula that shatters the most popular course creation narrative The tools she used to do a $20,000 course launch in 60 days with no email list Her MVC method to not overthink your launch and to pre-sell your course How her online course made $25,000 alone in one month on Instagram...and how it has exploded since then. As this episode premieres, Danielle just crossed the $100,000 mark, her first six figure month. And in today’s episode, she breaks down how she’s quickly approaching $1M in revenue this year If you want to learn how Danielle’s online course made $100,000 in one month alone from Instagram listen to this entire episode, and remember to sign up for her Course From Scratch class at SideHustlePro.co/CourseFromScratch. Nubian Skin has redefined what "nude" means, offering essentials in different colors with current pieces include bras, underwear, hosiery, and shoes. When Ade set out to create skin-tone choices that actually matched her skin tone, she had no idea the level of interest she would generate. Today, celebrity-favorite Nubian Skin is stocked in leading stores such as Asos, Nordstroms and she even styled the Queen Bey herself, Beyoncé and dancers for the Formation World Tour as well as the cast of the blockbuster film Hidden Figures. 2017  was an amazing year for me (I got married, took my business to new heights, spent time with my family, was embraced into a new family and culture). I am so grateful for the lessons learned and blessings received. Something I may have shared less of is that it was also an emotional year and sometimes a downright stressful year. I pushed myself harder than I ever have, took on more responsibility at work, was challenged in unexpected ways, grew a lot and took a major leap and quit my job. Now, I enter 2018 with a new perspective and determination to do my best work and live my best life. Today on the show, is the one and only Claire Sulmers, the founder of FashionBombDaily.com, and the industry’s leading fashion blogger chronicling fashionistas of color. Her pioneering work ushered in a new wave of digital journalism that fed and fueled an underserved community of African-American and Latino style lovers. Claire’s body of work and online following- has allowed her to partner with major corporate brands who want to reach her audience including Toyota, Verizon and others. In 11 years, Claire has accumulated over 1.2 million followers, written a book “The Bomb Life”, and is now hosting on Revolt. I first learned about Claire when I started reading the Fashion Bomb blog 11 years ago. Like other readers, I have followed Claire’s evolution from blogger to brand ambassador to business woman.   One of the reasons I am always so intrigued by Claire, is that at first glance, just looking at her instagram feed, you would have no idea of her story. But she has made some humbling moves  and missteps on her path to getting where she is today and I have much respect for her for how she’s been able to flip fumbles into fortune. On today’s episode, Claire gets into: How she started from the bottom in fashion with unpaid internships and thankless jobs Why she took a leap of faith and moved to Paris with no job and barely any money How she started and differentiated Fashion Bomb Daily All of the revenue streams in her business How a rogue ex almost ruined her reputation Plus how she’s continuing to grow her brand   Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher and Google Play Links mentioned on this episode Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements Side Hustle Pro is now over 4900 members strong. Today in the guest chair I have online coach and personal trainer Tameika G. Tameika’s story is far from ordinary. Over the course of ten years, she completely flipped her lifestyle and her long term career path as a result. Years ago, she was overweight, living in her home country of Canada and just generally unhappy. But she decided she didn’t want her food addiction and obesity to be what defined her story and her end game. So she made drastic life changes to rewrite her own story. She lost 90 lbs and has kept it off for 10 years. Since losing 90 pounds, she has devoted her time to helping others achieve the same happiness she's found on this journey.  As a Certified Personal Trainer, she has helped over 400 clients, both in person and online, lose a cumulative total of 3000+ pounds. And she did this all while side hustling. After several years side hustling, working in corporate and being a fitness professional on the side, she was finally able to build a life she no longer needs a vacation from.  On today’s episode, Tameika gets into: Why heartbreak led her to make a radical life and professional change What made her choose Asia How she quit her job and found a way to move to another country How she kept costs low to work her “get out of a debt plan” The tipping point that made her quit her job How she focuses on her purpose and her passion How she paid her rent in full for the year so she can focus on her purpose and passion   Listen on Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud, Stitcher and Google Play Links mentioned on this episode TameikaG.com The Whole Experience retreat Tony Robbins Money Master the Game Tony Robbins Unshakeable book Gary Vee podcast Tameika’s detailed blog post on building a life she doesn’t need a vacation from Click here to subscribe via RSS feed (non-iTunes feed): http://sidehustlepro.libsyn.com/rss Announcements Side Hustle Pro is now over 4800 members strong.
