I recently had a friend admit to me that he didn't feel "worthy of success." The reality is...a lot of people feel like that. They feel like a fraud. They feel like they are running behind. They feel like there is some "secret formula" that's complicated & too sophisticated for them to understand. Listen...all of us feel lost & like we don't know what we're doing. In this episode, I talk about how to overcome that & we share OG stories about the early days of MFCEO. (Oh...& we announce contest winners!)
What is the key to ultimate happiness? Ask most people in the culture today & they'll say "the freedom to do whatever you want" & to indulge yourself any way you want...to live a life of leisure, comfort, ease, whatever. The reality is, that is absolutely, 100 percent dead wrong. In fact, the answer is pretty much the exact opposite of that. In this episode, I talk about the key to ultimate happiness & why it's ---not coincidentally--the key principle of my program, 75Hard.
Most people just don't understand how simple it is to advance in your career & climb the ladder of success all the way to the top. They think there's something mystical about it, something beyond their control, & that they have to be "chosen" to become the elite leaders of business & society. But the reality is, it's not hocus pocus or complex & complicated at all. There are 4 steps...4 concrete, actionable steps...that *anyone* can take to start moving up in the world NOW.
This is a message to anybody who is frustrated with some aspect of your life...whether your frustration is with your business, or a relationship, or your fitness...or whatever! There are two realizations you must have before success will materialize for you, & when I tell you what they are, you're probably going to say "well, no sh!t"...but I guarantee you're not really acting on these realizations. When you do...& I'm going to tell you how...things will go far, far better for you.
Everybody wants to be happy. Everybody wants to be successful. So why isn't everyone happy & successful? The truth is, it's not because people aren't willing to work hard. A ton of people in the world work hard & are still not happy & successful. The problem is in how they approach the work. In this episode, I talk about why choosing the hardest path possible is a good idea & the incredible thing that happens when you push yourself beyond your limits.
So many of you are good people who genuinely want to kill it in your business & life, but a ton of the advice you are getting on the internet...on Instagram & YouTube & on all the podcasts by the success gurus & "business coaches"...well, it's f*cking terrible & really counterproductive to your success. There are three pieces of advice in particular that are the worst. In this episode, I tell you what they are & actually provide the right advice, so you can make the impact & money you really want to make.
What really does make America...and YOU...great? I've been reading a ton of U.S. history, & I've learned more about the most incredible men & women our country has ever produced. It's been so impactful to me that I created a course called UNITED WE WIN: 7 Lessons in Excellence and Success From the Greatest Americans of All Time. The full course will only be available to my email subscribers, but I'm publishing the first lesson as a gift to you for Independence Day. Happy 4th of July, Mother F*ckers!
If you completed 75Hard - I introduced it in episode 290 - you know it's the program I created for winning the war against yourself & developing the kind of mental toughness that makes anything possible for you. You know it's changed your life & you'll never be the same. But you might be asking yourself..."now what? Where do I go from here? How do I take my mental toughness to an even higher level as I pursue my own full potential?" Take a listen to this episode & find out!
I don't know about you, but with all the crazy sh*t going on in the world & all the things going on in my own life, sometimes it's hard not to go insane or feel stuck & overwhelmed...not just professionally, but personally, too. The good news is that my guest on today's podcast is an incredibly insightful & brilliant woman who has a real gift for helping people live with peace & power & purpose. Dr. Nicole LePera, aka The Holistic Psychologist, is in the house!
The longer I live, the more I believe that people's success is determined by the questions they ask themselves. There's a bunch of people out there who really aren't succeeding & really aren't getting the results they say they want, because they don't have the right answer to the question, "will I put in the work when no one's looking?" And there are other people who are paralyzed with fear & regret because they constantly ask "what if?" Listen, regardless of the question, the answer is always GO HARD.
It's amazing to me how most people have an excuse for why they aren't winning. They have every tool...resource...opportunity. But there's a factor in the way they think & how they operate that is going to ruin them. Our culture is cursed & the mindset of the majority is hellbent on mediocrity. As sick & tired as I am about all this, I can't stop caring, & I won't stop working to make sure that the people who really, truly want to succeed know the hard truth about what it's going to take to do that.
Nike running shoes? Check. AirPods? Check. Weighted vest? Check. Alright...let's f*cking GO! Yes, that's right...today we made podcast history as the first episode recorded *while* doing the SECOND of TWO workouts, after an already long & busy day of running a 9-figure business. Was I tired? F*ck yeah, I was tired. But that doesn't mean I can't execute...& what you need to understand is that if want to enjoy your best possible life, you have to learn to push yourself hard, even after you're exhausted.
What can you learn about business from two guys from Tupelo, Mississippi? A lot. Josh West & Nick Weaver are two of the most incredible entrepreneurs I’ve met in a long time! They were best friends as kids & are now the founders of Blue Delta Jeans, a company that makes the best blue jeans I've ever worn in my life! We talked about their story, their struggle, & the lessons every entrepreneur can apply. You're not just going to learn a lot in this episode. You're going to laugh, too. A lot.
If you could take a time machine back to your biggest win in life…would you? If you’re thinking “Of course! I'd love to rocket back to Yesteryear to relive the Glory Days," then your chances of being a real success in life are probable zero. ZERO. Truly successful people have a completely different mindset. They are guided by a major rule in life: The 24-Hour Rule of Bragging. This rule protects you from mediocrity and helps you move on from massive mistakes.
Just "winning" isn't enough. "Winning" doesn't earn you glory or the right to brag. You have to DOMINATE. That's the mentality you have to have to truly be successful on an elite level...& this isn't an ego thing, either. It's not about just trying to prove you are way better than somebody else. It's not about feeling good because you decimated your competition. It actually has to do with YOU...your potential..& whether or not you die feeling proud of how you lived.
What if you could retrain your thought process to actually go the extra mile to the point where even if you were sleeping, your dreams would be driven by a sub-conscious commitment to excellence? I’ve actually experienced that & you can too. While everybody else is conditioning their minds to do the least that is still acceptable...YOU can condition your mind to do the most to WIN. You can actually become the person you want everybody to believe you really are.
How can you develop a mindset that goes all in, all the time? I’m talking about a mentality that keeps the pedal on the gas, whether things are going great for you, or you’re slogging your way through tough times. My guest Jason Khalipa is a Crossfit icon & a successful entrepreneur. He’s won elite competitions, made millions of dollars, & led his family through his daughter’s brutal encounter with leukemia. Through ups & downs, he knows what it takes to consistently crush it in business & life.
Do you feel alone? I’ve met thousands of people who tell me they feel isolated & detached from average society because they personally have extremely high standards, a killer competitive attitude, & an extreme commitment to making the most of their lives...& it feels like nobody else does. The good news is there are others who are truly committed to excellence in everything they do. If you want to connect with them & be part of an incredible movement & family...take a listen to this podcast.
Every now and then, average people do win. But they don't keep winning...they don't make a lifestyle out of winning...because they make a huge mistake. In their moments of victory, they do something that causes them to lose focus & actually ends up being counter-productive to their long-term success. True winners don't do this. That's why all they do is win. What is it? Take a listen & find out.
As a guy who started with $0 in the bank 20+ years ago & now personally earns well into 8 figures a year, I've been around the broke & the ballers, losers & winners...& I can tell you this: those who never experience all the valuable things in life...the stuff money can buy & the stuff it can't...definitely suffer from an either/or mentality. They believe in a false choice & they even believe something false about God. So they waste their lives. Don't want that to happen to you? Listen to this podcast.
There’s a lot of you guys out there who think you can tolerate a little compromise or deviation in your performance or integrity…what I call “a hole in your bucket”…& still succeed. The reality is, some of the giants of history have been reduced to f*cking ruins because they allowed a hole in their bucket. What was it?…why is it so lethal?…& most important, how do you protect yourself from it? Take a listen & find out.
There are days that nothing in you wants to do anything productive. You have these huge goals, but you feel like being a lazy f*ck. You’d rather lay on the couch & eat donuts instead of run 20 miles. You’d rather watch Netflix for hours than invest the time & energy needed to build your business. Other “experts” talk about how to power through those negative emotions & perform. I can tell you how to do that, too…& more than that. I can teach you how to LOVE the days that test your will.
We all have bad days.We all have days where nothing seems to be going right, at work & in our personal lives. On those days, average people get their cages rattled, lose their focus, get derailed, & end the day with nothing accomplished. But the reality is, it doesn’t matter how much crap & chaos your day holds. You can keep your mind right, your attitude on point, & your day productive. In this episode, I tell you how I do it & how you can, too.
What would it be worth to you if you could 100X traits in yourself like confidence, self-belief, discipline, & grittiness...& completely transform your life? These are not traits you are born with, but skills you develop. I've spent more than twenty years figuring out how to master mental toughness & I'm putting everything I've learned into a program I call 75HARD. What's it all about & how can it help you become who you are meant to be & get the life you want? Take a listen.
What do you think is impossible? Pretty much everybody told my guest & friend James Lawrence that doing 50 Iron Mans in 50 days in 50 different states was impossible. But he did it. Not because he is a gifted athlete or had access to special resources, but because he learned how to create a mental toughness that is 1000 times stronger than iron. This episode will show you that you really can crush the absurdly huge goals that everybody else thinks you can't.
“You have to care about your customers.” If you’re in business, you hear it & say it all the time. But the reality is, deep down most people thinks it’s just a buzzword...a catchphrase entrepreneurs use to feel good about themselves. But I can tell you from building my business into 9-figures, it’s not a cheesy cliché...& you need to understand why it’s an essential key to dominating sales.
Do you want to succeed, but don't feel like you have the resources? Building a multi-million-dollar business from the ground up, there were tons of times I felt desperate & without options. I eventually found out why that was a good thing.
If you’re overwhelmed by what you think you need to know to master social media influence…relax. If you feel confused about what exactly you’re suppose to do to achieve massive results on Instagram and other platforms…don’t sweat it. In this episode, I boil everything down to the nuts & bolts & give you a simplified list of dos and don'ts. If you take seriously what I tell you & put it into practice, you’ll become the kind of influencer that generates massive amounts of impact & income.
The rules for social media success are changing. I'm a social media influencer myself & I employ thousands of influencers who represent my companies, & I can tell you this: the game is different now. It's so different that much of what used to work isn't going to work anymore. In this new era, if you want to build a focused & engaged following, leverage your platform for your business, & make millions off your personal brand...then you better take to heart what's in this episode & put it into practice.
There's an enormous amount of greed & insanity in the whole entrepreneur & success space. Do you really want to be a part of it? Do you really want to promote it in any way? I don't. That's why I've stepped away from speaking at most of the conferences & want nothing to do with the shady parts of that culture. What all of us should want...is to make money the right way (which is the most effective way) & to learn how to listen to people in a way that makes a huge impact on their lives.
When is enough, enough? When are you going to buy enough courses or go to enough conferences? I am all for you finding resources that actually provide value by teaching you something. I support you trying to develop yourself as a person & entrepreneur. The problem is, a lot of you need to declutter the nonsense in your lives, stop dabbling in "generating income" & start driving deep into building a real brand & legitimate company. You need to stop wasting time & double down on creating an empire.
What's the "magic number?" That's the question they ask on lottery commercials. If you get the "magic number" on Powerball or whatever, you are guaranteed millions. Well...I've got a 5-digit number for you that will guarantee success. It will guarantee you will create wealth - & a lot of it. What am I talking about? What's this so-called "magic number?" Take a listen & find out.
When someone does something really stupid or scandalous and gets caught...how do you respond? When someone has an epic moral failure or crashes and burns in business...do you like to join the rest of society & social media & pile on the judgement & criticism? How you choose to respond to people who do shady things - including shady things to you - will determine whether you live your life enslaved to hate & bitterness...or whether you live your life with freedom and power.
What's your attitude when you go through tough times? Do you think, "this isn't fair" or "I wish this wasn't happening to me"? To the average person, struggle is something to be avoided. But elite achievers find benefits in being knocked around by life. In fact...far from being averse or ashamed of struggle, they embrace it. They take pride in it. They think of it as a privilege. And that's why they always power through. How can you develop this mindset? That's what I talk about in this episode.
It was the early 1940s, right before World War 2. The suburbs of Chicago. There was a kid - we'll call him "Harry." He was shy, socially awkward, and a loner. But he powered through 20+ years of struggle, setback, rejection and repeated failure to become a multi-millionaire... and an American icon. His life story provides a blueprint for what the road to success really looks like & what it costs to achieve the life you really want. Listen to this episode to find out who he is & what he can teach you.
A long time ago I made a decision...I promised myself I would handle a common negative emotion in a positive way. Because I've been able to do that, it has massively impacted my ability to achieve success & happiness. In this episode, I tell you what it is & how handling it well transforms every aspect of your life. It's that important.
There are people in life who have been given opportunities & given every possible advantage & guess what? They still lose. And they are miserable. Then there are those who didn't grow up with a good family & didn't have any of the resources that most people do & had tons of really bad sh*t happen to them...but guess what? In spite of all that, they find a way to WIN. And those people are happy. They are proud of who they are. Which kind of person are you? Be honest. Winner or loser? Miserable or happy?
On Thanksgiving everybody gets in the mood to be grateful. That's good. But the problem is that exercising gratitude is something you should do everyday, because it's essential to success. In this episode, I talk about how I cultivate gratitude. I also explain that while winners recognize that life is hard & that there's bad sh!t in the world, they still believe that being alive is a good thing. They are thankful for life. They believe that there's good in the world worth fighting for...& they fight for it!
Heavy D & Diesel Dave are in the house! The guys from The Diesel Brothers, the hit show on The Discovery Channel, joined us in the studio and we talked about everything from custom builds & skid loaders to building a multi-million-dollar brand & what it takes to win big in business & succeed at everything you do. These guys are seriously good dudes - men of character who also happen to be first-rate entrepreneurs. Listen up & you'll laugh & learn a ton.
Why is that people nowadays think that if we disagree, we have to hate each other? Why do people think that if I share an opinion that is the opposite of yours, that it's somehow a personal attack & offensive? The media & politicians fuel this mentality & it's really killing our ability to get along & be good & decent people to one another. It's got to stop. There's a way to disagree - even strongly - with one another without despising each other. That's what we talk about in today's Sunday Sermon.
Why is it that some people experience terrible, evil things in their lives & they become monsters themselves...while other people go through just the same kind of suffering & sh*t & they are transformed into amazing, good people? I get it. It is hard.to take the negatives of life & convert them into positives. It's hard to be wronged & still do the right thing. It's really hard to go through really bad things & become a force for good in the world. But it can be done. You just have to make the choice.
There's really no way I can summarize today's SUNDAY SERMON in a way that will do it justice. We recorded on a day that I was just sick & tired of society & all the crazy bullsh!t that we've all gotten used to experiencing on a day-to-day basis. So we talked about that & national division & common decency & Donald Trump & bad parenting & pursuing your potential & shady preachers & success coaches & God & "happiness is the new rich." It's all in this episode.
We got the four winners of the MFCEO iTunes Review Contest - Carly Damuth, Chris De Brock, Dr. Tom Recher, and Carmella Goslar - & they asked some incredibly practical & thoughtful questions about business & success that are relevant to anybody, at any stage in their journey. From "how service businesses can get their clients to pay them on time" to "how to leverage Amazon without being dependent on it," this is a high quality, high content conversation with a lot of fun, wisdom, & even some vulnerability.
How do you respond to people who are leading or coaching you? The reality is, your response to guidance & instruction is what is going to determine whether you're an average person or an elite achiever. Average people want to tell the coach or leader HOW to lead them. They care about personality, approach, communication style, & all sorts of other things. But elite achievers only care about one thing. In this episode, I tell you what it is.
I love history & when I was in high school, I wrote a paper on World War 2 fighter planes. The undisputed champion of all those fighter planes was the North American P-51 Mustang. In this episode, I use that plane & the brave pilots who flew it to explain how you can double your confidence when it comes to winning big at everything you do in business & in all of life.
People in the motivation & success industry – and people in general – are obsessed about “significance." Doing “significant” things. Living a “significant” life. This sounds noble...and it is. But there’s also a dark side to it. The search...the obsession...for significance can be problematic. That's what we talk about & we share some things for you to think about...to make sure your pursuit of significance is noble & authentic & not really some self-centered, egotistical thing.
One of the biggest things I've struggled with over the course of my life is having that little voice inside me that says that everyone else is smarter, more talented, or just plain better at [fill in the blank]. "They have some magic that I don't," the voice says. Now I've learned how to flip the voice on its @ss & use it to drive me. But the reality is, the whole self-doubt & comparison thing can really kill us. In this episode, I share 2 things that help me win that battle. They can help you win it, too.
Every day there are people who don’t achieve the goals that they could achieve if they just acted. In almost every case, the reason they didn’t act was because they talk themselves out of it. They let the "little loser voice" inside them dictate the terms of their life - who they are & what they can accomplish. But successful people take specific steps to take control of their mental conversation - and their lives. In this episode, I tell you what they do to dominate.
"What if?" is a question I hear people asking all the time...people who are in the middle of their entrepreneurial journey...or people who are in the midst of trying to accomplish a big goal. The reality is, people who constantly ask themselves that question are mentally abusing themselves. They are subjecting themselves to doubt & uncertainty. Successful people, entrepreneurs or otherwise, are different. They ask entirely different questions and operate under a whole different set of expectations.
Jocko Willink is among the best in the world on the subject of leadership & in this episode he joins me to talk about his new book "The Dichotomy of Leadership." We talk about the opposing qualities that leaders need to develop, as well as Jocko's tactics for dealing with lack of confidence, overly inflated egos, & a ton of other situations & challenges a leader will face with any team or business on the planet. This is as thorough an education on leadership as you're going to get...in less than 90 minutes.
Beer. Burt Reynolds. Knowing when to serve others & when to stand up for yourself. What my old bulldog Oscar taught me about life. How Vaughn the Impaler's yellow lab saved his little girl. Not gonna lie...we hit a lot of topics in today's episode, but all of them will make you smile, laugh, and help you become a better person...which is the whole point of the Sunday Sermon.
The so-called "gurus" tell you to set attainable goals, but I don't agree with that. I think you should set huge, unrealistic goals. Because if you fall short of those goals, it's massively disappointing. Those unrealized expectations hurt & that's a good thing, because pain teaches. In fact, pain does more than teach. If we use it, it can drive us to success like nothing else can.
It seems like everyday I get somebody emailing me or messaging me complaining or beating themselves up about something they said or did in the past. Part of me gets that, but most of me doesn't. Complaining about the past is illogical. Beating yourself up about your past is pointless. Instead, you should be using your past to benefit your present & your future. How do the happiest, most satisfied people do that? That’s what we talk about in today’s Sunday Sermon.
If it's true that everyone has the potential to be successful, why aren't the majority of people successful? It's not a matter of education or intelligence or natural giftedness. It's a matter of the will. Successful people are willing to do something that most people are not. They are willing to look bad...really bad...on their way to getting good at something & becoming someone who is truly great. Unsuccessful people aren't like this. The minute they look or feel stupid...they quit.
People always have lots of questions for me, about business, self-development, or whatever. So we decided to do another Q&A episode. We cover a wide range of topics in this episode, from qualities to look for in a hire & the best "techniques" of sales to how I've leveraged failures & why I'm not crazy about the question "What's your why?" This is super practical stuff, so listen & learn.
I’m finding it common to run into people who think they have found their purpose in life, but are still struggling with dissatisfaction on a daily basis. Restlessness is actually part of what it means to be a human being living in the real world. If you feel empty no matter how much you succeed, listen closely to today's episode. Vaughn, Tyler & myself talk about reasons for restlessness & dissatisfaction & what to do about it. If this is something you struggle with, just know this: YOU'RE NORMAL.
What's the #1 key to success? People want to act like it's mysterious. Gurus who don't know sh!t want to complicate it & make the answer sexier than it really is. The fact is, the secret is simple: DON'T QUIT. The people who succeed in life...the people who advance up the pyramid of success..are people of endurance. They are patient, power through pain after pain, & adjust & adapt & improve themselves...until they reach the top.
Whatever ever happened to common decency? There are things that everybody used to know & do...how to treat one another, how to talk to one another, how to be a good person..that hardly anyone knows & does anymore. That's the bad news. The good news is that if YOU know & do these things, you'll be rare. You'll stand out. Having good manners & being a decent person will help you dominate.
Have you ever hit rock bottom? Are you hitting rock bottom now? I get it. I've been there...in business & in life. Sometimes it's been my fault. Sometimes it hasn't. Well, listen...I can't explain this, but I've experienced it & I can tell you it's true: there's something really good about hitting rock bottom. In this episode, I give you three reasons why & urge you to wake up, rise up again, & dominate.
There's a ton of misinformation & flat-out lies out there about how to live with purpose & passion. The average "guru" on the internet misleads people into thinking they're weird because they struggle with doubt, uncertainty & dissatisfaction. In this episode, I share the real truth about purpose & passion, walking you through questions to ask yourself, expectations to adjust, & practical habits to develop that will help you operate more confidently & intentionally in every area of your life.
What's wrong with the world today? Like you, I get on the internet & social media & think, "WTF?" Like...it literally seems like society has become an insane asylum & the lunatics are running the place. Everybody is angry & resentful at everybody else. Well I heard a great story that provides a two word answer for what's wrong with the world. If we take that answer seriously, we'll all go a long way in fixing society...and our own lives.
Everybody has dreams for their future. But not everybody understands that what you hope to do on a much higher level later, you can begin to do right now. The guy who wants to someday speak to millions can give a talk to his 7 employees today. The girl who wants to perform on stage in Nashville someday can sing at a local country bar this weekend. Bottom line: when it comes to your dreams, if you're not doing what you can do now, you'll never do what you want to do later.
How do you become someone people would die for? In the age of social media, we talk about having "friends." But that term has become cheap. We think that if someone follows our page or likes our post, we're "friends." Not hardly. Real friends are a positive force in your life, energizing, truthful, supportive, and fiercely loyal. We all need real friendships because we can't do life by ourselves or succeed on our own. But if good friendships are what we want, a good friend is what we need to become.
Most people talk about happiness as if it's this mystical, mysterious force that you have no control over. That is 1000 percent false. Like so many other things in this world, happiness is something you have to earn. It is the result of actions you take. In this episode, I drop two practical things you need to DO...two practical things everybody CAN do...to earn the right to be happy.
You can learn a lot about success & entrepreneurship from a veteran of the music industry who has worked with superstars from Lady Gaga to Nelly. My buddy J. Erving is an influential executive, investor, & leader in talent management. He’s also an entrepreneur to the core & a guy committed to excellence. In this episode, he shares his story & we riff about everything from establishing credibility & authority in your industry to the leadership skills it takes to manage people who are exceptionally talented
"Know your worth." That's a phrase I can't stand, because most of the time, people talk about how "worthy" they are when they haven't done anything to justify that claim. But at the other end of the spectrum are people who have a lot to offer, but they don't realize it & take advantage of it. You need to resist the temptation to "discount" yourself in business & life & "price" yourself more fairly & generously. Because if you do bring something worthwhile to the world, you deserve to benefit from that.
I've quoted Lombardi on the podcast before: "chase perfection." Problem is, most people emphasize the second word when the focus is really on the first. Perfection is an impossibility. We're supposed to chase it, not expect it. That's sounds counter-intuitive to a commitment to excellence, but it's not. In fact...perfectionism actually undermines excellence. In this episode, I tell you how & describe a better way of thinking & operating: one that embraces the chaotic process that produces success.
Most people who want to be millionaires don't see the connection between today & someday. Young kids don't think that killing it at their job at Burger King has anything to do with making millions in the future. Adults don't think how they cut their grass or wipe their @ss has anything to do with achieving their "dream life." The people who *actually* become wealthy are different. They recognize the link between now & later & they make every effort & sacrifice RIGHT NOW. They die to live the good life!
There are a lot of eyeballs on the internet, 24/7, so if you're an entrepreneur & you're not capturing their attention, you're leaving income on the table. The internet offers a huge opportunity for low-cost marketing & high volume sales, but most people don't have any idea how to create ads that really convert. Billy Gene Is Marketing is an exception to the rule. Today he shares his valuable knowledge & experience to help you transform your social media marketing from "loser" to lucrative.
There are two main skills you need to make 6 figures or more in life: 1. sales and 2. leadership. In this episode, I focus on the skill of sales, unpack two fundamental practices that will you master it, & I even walk you through an exercise that will help you cultivate ease, comfort, & confidence with anyone & everyone you meet - which is critical to success in sales...& really, life in general. Bottom line: become a monster sales person & your potential for wealth and success is unlimited.
Fifteen years ago today, I was lying face-down on a street in Springfield, Missouri, in a pool of my own blood. Just a few seconds before that, I felt the excruciating pain of getting stabbed multiple times. Bottom line: a dude tried his best to kill me. So...what would you do if that happened to you? There's not a person alive who hasn't been hurt by someone. How you handle your emotions & respond to that hurt will determine the quality of your life & relationships & the things you're able to accomplis
What’s the #1 lie of our society & what would your life look like if you completely rejected it? So many people out there right now are talking about how everybody needs to “love themselves” & keep telling themselves that…“You’re beautiful & worthy & good enough." But here's the problem: for those statements to be true, there has to be a change in mindset & a commitment to act & live in a certain way. Bottom line: you aren't entitled to feel good about yourself. You have to earn it.
So you say you're ready to fulfill your own true potential & achieve success & become a millionaire. That’s sounds so bad*ss, doesn't it? So sexy. So cool. Why wouldn’t everyone want to go all in on something like that? Because...the ACTUAL pursuit of success begins & ends with a principle that is totally unsexy & totally uncool, but utterly indispensable. What is it? Listen & find out.
Everyone associates the internet & social media with the future of business, but the reality is that these things have actually turned back the clock on all of us. Because everyone is connected, the world has become a much smaller place where everybody knows everybody & if you run your business like it's located in Small Town, USA - population: 100 - you'll experience big-time success. In this episode, I tell you exactly how to do that.
How do you get everyone to talk about you & your brand? A lot of people out there are trying hard to convince me to post about their product or snap a photo of me wearing their swag. They are handing out thousands of t-shirts to influencers & others to get a mention on social media. The truth is there's a way to get people to automatically, naturally, enthusiastically promote your brand, your product, your service...YOU. How do you do that? Listen to this episode to find out.
In business & life, people who master the "soft skills" make an impact & make money. Jordan Harbinger is one of the pioneers of podcasting & is an expert in social dynamics. A guy who built a massively successful brand by providing high quality content & generating meaningful conversations on critical issues, Jordan joins me in the studio & we talk about the interpersonal dynamics that translate into big-time influence & income.
"You are who you hang out with." We've heard that time & again, but until you take seriously the essential connection between your social life & your success, you're not going fulfill your potential. Bottom line: who you choose as your close friends matters. What peer group you're a part of affects your mind, your character, the amount of money in your bank account...everything. You need to level up your inner circle & cut out negative influences (even family) & in this episode, I tell you how.
How can you keep yourself from feeling like sh*t? There's one thing you can do - or not do - with your mouth that will not only help you preserve your energy and increase your self-respect, but will improve the overall quality & outlook of your life.
Any person's life, no matter if they are "successful" or not, is going to have ups and downs. If you're an entrepreneur, you can almost guarantee that you're going to go through a regular cycle of feeling good, like you're making progress, but then feeling like sh*t, like you & all your plans are falling apart & doomsday is coming. You need to know this is natural & normal...and the key is to learn a method of powering through these times & executing when your feelings are battling against you.
Why do you so often fall short of getting what you want, even when you go out and work hard? How is it possible that men like Nick Saban & Bill Belichick don't just win games & championships, but have established themselves as titans & gods even among the extremely successful? The answer is simple. It all comes down to standards & expectations.
"Just quit the job you hate & do what you love." We hear that all the time, don't we? But that's terrible advice. Because in order to get the opportunity to do something you love, you're going to have to do something you hate...for a long time. In this episode, I talk about the process that everyone who starts from zero & builds 7,8, & 9-figure enterprises KNOWS you have to go through. And I talk about the motive & mindset that drives the person who, when everyone else has quit, is the last one standing.
There's a question that I think – if you answer it rightly – will get you straight on what you’re doing with your business, your brand….even your whole life. If you answer this question correctly, you’re going to have a sense of strength and purpose that other people dream about. And you’re going to feel good about yourself. So here’s the question: is it better to be famous or impactful? That's what I talk through on today's episode. [Visit Andy Frisella's website](www.andyfrisella.com)
How do you make every day great? Or even perfect? There are four steps. They involve productivity, learning, gratitude, & enjoying things that money can't buy. When these things form the core of your day, you're day is going to be f*cking awesome, even if there's all sorts of chaos and sh*t going on. That's important for entrepreneurs & overachievers, because as great as building businesses & making money is, the stress & the drive to dominate in everything you do can drive you crazy...if you let it.
Too many people are overly invested in the lives of others. They wonder how much money other people make. They compare their lives and success to what they see posted on Facebook and Instagram. Not only is this unfair to you, it will also destroy your ability to make something valuable out of your own life.
I’m not the most multi-cultural person on the planet, but I did recently learn something about French culture that might actually be better than French fries. It's a concept the French came up with way back in the 1800s...a way of thinking about life & the responsibility we have to LIVE IT. It's the mindset of any person who rises from the ashes, who goes "from rags to riches", and it's why kids born into poor, f*cked up families can still become the most powerful & influential people on the plan
What's the key to building a billion dollar brand? What's going to give you that edge over your competition? The so-called "gurus" will tell you it's the latest hi-tech silver bullet...that new platform or software that will make everything easy & efficient & will streamline & automate some aspect of your business so that customers will just come rolling in. But that's the true. The key is not easy or efficient, but it costs a lot less money & will make you FAR more. What it is? Listen & find out.
Do you consider yourself a good person? Do you seek power? If you answered “yes” to both questions, great. If you answered “yes” to the first but “no” to the second, what the f*ck is wrong with you? You’re what’s wrong with society. You’re the reason the world isn’t a better place. What do I mean? Listen to this episode and find out.
Anybody who is in business has experienced anxiety over the sales process. That’s normal. What’s also normal is that the people who can’t overcome that anxiety are going to crash & burn in business. That's too bad. Because there’s no reason that social anxiety over sales has to torpedo anyone’s dream of building a multi-million-dollar business. There are proven ways of dealing with your fear & getting to the point you actually enjoy the sales process. That’s what we talk about in today’s podca
Businesses ask me all the time, “how can we get our customers to trust us?” Trust is incredibly important. But when people ask me that, I already know something is wrong with their thinking. In this episode, I explain why, and identify what you really need to do to establish the kind of rock solid trust that leads to loyalty - which is THE quality you want in your customer base, in order to build a wildly profitable business and brand.
Whenever I tell people that they need to carry themselves with confidence and act like the MFCEO of their own lives, I always get someone who says something like this: “That’s easy for you to say, Andy. Because you really are a CEO. It’s easy to walk around with some swag in life when you actually hold a position with some status.” They don’t get it. The disposition comes before the position. In this episode, I explain what that means and why it's critical to your success.
What do all these things have in common? “In God We Trust.” An Eagle. The Greek heroes Achilles and Odysseus. The Roman hero Aeneas. Wealth. Excellence. Impact. Legacy. The MFCEO Project. 100-0....and YOU. In this episode, I answer that question, identify the driving force behind the 100-0 movement, explain what's at stake, and issue a challenge. Listen like your life depended on it...because it does.
Being decisive doesn’t mean you always make the right decisions. It means you know how to make a decision quickly & intelligently & keep moving forward, learning to adapt to whatever happens as a result of your decision. In this episode, I talk about how this decide/adapt/keep moving forward skill is not only found in the most successful, most highly paid CEOs, but in people who are absolutely crushing every aspect of their life.
All the so-called "experts" tell us to ignore our weaknesses and focus on our strengths. There's truth in that, but not across the board. The reality is, we need to determine whether our weaknesses are just inconvenient annoyances, or whether they are something that will destroy our business or life, if we don't do something about it. There's a process to dealing with our weaknesses, and there's a way that a good leader helps others deal with theirs. That's what this episode is about.
What's keeping you from being successful is your inability and lack of capacity to tell the truth. Throughout your day, you have the opportunity to say the things that people need to hear, but you don't do it. You don't want to hurt people's feelings. You don't want them to be mad at you. Whatever the reason, you buffer what you say or don't say it at all. But until you learn to speak the truth clearly and directly, you're never going to be the type of person who becomes wealthy or successful.
My buddy Ryan Michler from Order of Man joins me in the studio and we get riffing on topics like accepting responsibility, mastering skills, and taking back control of your life, whether it's in the area of career or relationships or whatever. There’s a plague of victim mindset running through our culture and it has to be stopped. If you're infected by it, I can’t stop it for you. You have to do it yourself and in this episode we tell you how.
When we’re trying to learn something new and accomplish a huge goal everyone else thinks is impossible, we should say, "it's easy." That's what my guest in this episode thinks, & he should know. Charlie Jabaley was an awkward fat kid who became a successful executive in the hip hop industry. He also set a goal to become a a real athlete & Nike ended up giving him a call. Trust me: he knows how to create the life he wants & in this episode, we tell you how you can too.
The average person approaches the whole concept of “finding yourself” in a passive way. Truly successful people know that “figuring out” who you are meant to be isn’t an issue of figuring out anything at all. It’s a decision. You decide who you are and order your life to reflect that decision. You create the character. You put on the clothes. You go through the motions. You visualize it until you realize it.
I’ve told you guys that my early years of business were rough. I made every mistake possible.I felt like an idiot working hard and getting no results. I hated it. So at some point I made a decision that when I “made it,” I was going to help people through those rough early years of entrepreneurship. In today's episode, I sit down with 7 entrepreneurs - the winners of our MFCEO testimonial contest - to answer their questions and provide some direction. They asked great question you're asking too.
So many people wait and wait and wait…to make a change…to get their sh*t together…to take advantage of an opportunity. They don't act with urgency until it's too late...and they suffer the consequences. But successful people are different. They live every day with urgency...even when they are way ahead! In this episode, I talk about how people suffer from "selective urgency," how to identify it, how to avoid it, and what to do in place of it...so that you can cultivate the habits high earners possess.
I can tell you from personal experience most people get exactly what they expect. Not what they want. Not what they say they want. They don't get what they deserve.THEY GET WHAT THEY EXPECT. What is that supposed to mean? In this episode, I explain this concept, why it’s important and how to apply it.
