It is imperative that we teach our children how to handle active shooter situations.  We need to be clear on escape routes. What to do when you aren't around. Rendezvous points in the store and outside the store. Identify the exit doors. Give them permission to run away and make noise. This is our responsibility as adults to train and help them take those first steps. You are security.
