This month I had the pleasure of talking to talent agent and self-confessed music nut Andy Townsend. We got into a lot of subjects, his love of music first and foremost, but also:
:: how being a talent agent is as much about deftly delivering bad news as anything else;
:: how the Edinburgh Fringe is a broken system for the majority of artists;
:: how 90% of a creative’s working life is dealing with rejection; and
:: how a day’s forklift training in the late 80s forged the direction of this working life.
Andy represents an eclectic mix of very talented comedy writers and performers at the Galton Agency in London. Their remit is simple: they work with funny, talented people who want to create interesting and compelling work.
