Australia has a serious problem with domestic violence. One in three women will experience violence in their lifetime, one in five will experience sexual violence, and every single week, one woman is murdered by a partner or ex-partner. Current legal and policy responses to domestic violence are inadequate, often inappropriate, and can sometimes put women and their children at risk. Our panel of domestic violence experts will discuss the legal and policy changes that are needed to change our shocking domestic violence statistics and the systems that uphold them.
