Show notes
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We are very pleased and honoured to be able to present some interviews with amazing people who have played an important role in others' cancer journey.
Our first guest is James Rutten. James is 9 years old and lives in Western Australia. Earlier this year James walked the 41km Bibbulmun Track to raise over $7100 to help kids with cancer. (https://charityfundraiser.everydayhero.com/au/james-2) He was inspired to do so after losing his mate Declan to neuroblastoma in 2017. http://www.thekidscancerproject.org.au/stories/february-2018/wonder-boys (James appears on this page along with next week's guest Zach Rowney).
At the time of uploading this episode, James is participating in Superkids Superheroes, a 600km motorised scooter challenge in rural Western Australia, from Bridgetown to Perth (https://youtu.be/PiHDHVocG8Q). This charity ride donates 100% of funds raised to the Kids Cancer Project. (http://www.thekidscancerproject.org.au/donate)
Please see the links below to like and follow Superkids Superheroes on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/superkidssuperheroes/) and visit their fundraising page (http://www.superkidssuperheroes.com.au/ or https://superkids-superheroes-2018.everydayhero.com/au/donations) to help them raise funds to find a cure for childhood cancer.
