Jesus’ one-word capsulation of this period is “Laodicea.” Interestingly enough, it means “the rights of the people.” #WordStrongThe open door from the Philadelphian period is closed in Laodicea—with Jesus standing on the outside knocking. #WordStrongThis letter is the only one of the seven in which Jesus has no word of COMMENDATION. #WordStrongJesus’ letter includes a Laodicean’s spiritual analysis of himself. Man, are we way off! #WordStrongWhat we communicate (say) to Jesus by our life is that we are spiritually rich & increased with goods & have need of nothing. #WordStrong Jesus “says” of us, however, that we are lukewarm, wretched, miserable, poor, blind & naked. Wow! #WordStrongJesus doesn’t leave us hopeless, however! He gives us His “counsel” (tells us what to do) about our Laodicean condition. #WordStrongJesus also tells us that if His analysis has rebuked and chastened us, it’s because He loves us!
