I would like to welcome you to the second episode of wisdom talks. Today's podcast is all about “How to complete more tasks in a limited amount of time”.

Before I explain how to do it, I would like to discuss a principle called ‘The Pareto principle. The Pareto principle states that for many outcomes, roughly 80% of consequences come from 20% of causes. It is also called as 80/20 principle. If you remember this and make this principle your core value you will begin to notice how it changes your productivity. You make a daily to-do list of 7-8 items and focus most of the time on the top 20% of tasks. Remember that good is good enough and your outcomes don't have to be perfect. Your first priority should be to have a task completed and not a task perfected. Once you complete a task with 80% perfection, then you may assign other people to help you perfect it. The Pareto principle can be applied to almost everything you do in life. Whether it's your job, your studies, your business, or your relationships. Just to give you an example about business, your focus should be on those 20% products that yield 80 % of your revenue. When it comes to your job, your focus must be on 20 % of the task that yields maximum outputs, especially a complete task with some minor flaws.
