Bound by Guilt
None of us are completely free from the pangs of guilt. There are still issues that haunt us and revisit us about things we have done. At times, we are revisited by the shame of words misspoke or deeds done. Wounds of regret get reopened over events that we were part of or actions that were taken. Issues of shame resurface from memories of wrongs we have done. Feelings of guilt rise from the responsibility that we experience for things we have done.
How do we define guilt?
Guilt is the fact or state of having committed an offense, violation or wrong against some moral code. It is the feeling of responsibility or remorse over some offense or wrong. It is the conduct involving the commission of wrongs.
How Does Guilt Haunt Us?

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
