The heart, the symbol of love. It's everywhere from hats you can buy in New York City to the Valentine cards you're giving out this week. We use it as a verb to mean love, and everyone recognizes it's two rounded lobes and pointed bottom. But how did it come to look like that, and why do we use it the way we do?
