Kanchan knew something was off for a while. She got a corporate job right out of college and after working for about two years, she decided to pursue the two things that made her happiest: animals and travel. This led her to Thailand, where she first heard about the concept of cat cafes. Upon returning, she honed in on her entrepreneurship minor and got to work bringing this idea to Washington, D.C. At 24, she opened her first location. Even with the success she was achieving with her business, she was still deeply unhappy. Not only was it affecting her internally, but it was also causing her to lash out at her employees and creating a toxic work environment. Deciding to start the inner healing through therapy and other methods, Kanchan starting writing poetry. It was through writing that she's been able to express herself and find who her true self.
What a story of self-reflection and discovery. The episode features an exploration into finding purpose, healing, mental health, and defining a new definition of a CEO.
