FREEDOM!!Today we are talking about true "FREEDOM!" Dying for something you love, like William Wallace in Braveheart. Where have all the brave hearts gone?"Holy Spirit, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, help us to have the wisdom to know true freedom, freedom in knowing and seeking God's will, as you do. Pray that the graces may pour into us, strengthen us and guide us to the ultimate freedom of Heavenly worship. Protect us and bring us peace today in the battle, removing our adversaries so that we may be unhindered in fully doing the work of Christ for the praise, honor, and glory of God. Amen"It is important to know our enemies and their tactics. The devil is not creative. In order to gain a better picture of where we can be attacked let's look at the characteristics of "sloth".False Freedom: The thinking that being liberated from all constraints, whether those are self-imposed or imposed by another is freedom. This notion leads to people creating their own "truth" and rejecting any construct that expects or demands piety, or respect and reverence for God and His rules/plans, including parents, elected officials, law enforcement, etc. It causes us to abandon reality in order to find freedom and leads us to a fantasy world where we disconnect ourselves from everything that could be considered a limit or obstruction. This mind set creates a society of people unwilling to accept responsibility and/or offer themselves in love, or as a gift to anyone else…it increases selfishness, isolation, turns us away from God, and ultimately handcuffs us to not be able to accept any rules, guidelines, or instruction that could offend another person. Does that sound like freedom? This really is a dejection of your soul and leads to anxiety, interior instability, a cognitive dissonance and only temporary relief. Freedom is knowing that the finality of everything is God and His will. Relying on God takes the pressure off of us to have to always be right, always be perfect, always happy, and provides guardrails to show us the way, the map, to ultimate and Holy freedom. Want to know someone that achieved this interior freedom? Read a book by any saint. These Holy souls show us how to traverse the rocky terrain, to sail calmly through the storms of life. We know life will have troubles, but when we allow the threats, uncertainties, attacks, and trials to discourage or draw us away from prayer or God, we let the evil one win.Have a brave heart to stand for truth in that the only "True FREEDOM" is in doing God's will.
