Major Carman A. Leone is an Assistant Professor of Law, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado. He teaches and serves as the course director for the Academy’s only negotiation course, Principles of Negotiation. He also serves as the Director of the Leadership & Appropriate Dispute Resolution (LADR) Program, a Department of Law initiative that focuses on remaining on the cutting edge of negotiation pedagogy and application.
Before joining the law faculty at the Academy, Maj Leone served as the Area Defense Counsel (ADC) at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. In that role, Maj Leone tried seventeen courts-martial and served hundreds of Airmen who faced a variety of disciplinary issues. Maj Leone has also served as the Chief of Military Justice, Deputy Chief of Military Justice, Chief of Adverse Actions, Chief of Legal Assistance, and Special Assistant United States Attorney.
Maj Leone is currently admitted to practice law before the highest courts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Minnesota as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
