Yoshinobu Misawa was born in Yamagata… his Dad owned a cake shop so he started his career in a cake shop using a knife.. his first real job was an industrial designer in Japan… in 2000 he moved to California and work as a sushi chef in Huntington Beach … in 2003 he moved back to Japan to further his career in becoming a sushi chef… but his love for surfing brought him to Hawaii in 2006 and one of the original sushi chefs to open Izakaya gaku! In 2018 his dream became real by opening Izakaya Uosan.
