Lt. Cmdr. Ana Maring started her career in the Navy Reserve just before Sept. 11, 2001. She began as a sailor in the intelligence community helping other reservists deploy within a week's notice.

Today this single mother serves as a public affairs officer in the Navy Reserve and works full-time in her civilian career.
