Jesus&#39; journey to the cross, the grave, death itself, and His subsequent Resurrection, and Ascension to the Throne of His Kingdom paved the way to the Father. This journey also gave the Father the right to send the Holy Spirit to come in Jesus&#39; name to the apostles. The Spirit, the Comforter, Who was promised to them(Jn 

; 16:13), came just as Jesus promised and brought them the truth that saves and sets free (Jn 8:31-32), the message by which all people may believe in Him and have life in His name (Jn 17:20; 20:30-31).
