that morning, in an outlying section in the Kentucky hills, we find Mrs Godfrey struggling with her dog, who has been poisoned. Whilst Mr and Mrs Godfrey were sleeping the previous evening, someone had been into the house, poisoned Tiger the dog, and then robbed them.
