Owner of Stitch Morgantown, Angie Miller, joins Allie on today's episode to discuss her journey from running her Etsy shop to running a storefront shop in Morgantown, WV. We discussed what it was like to decide to open a storefront and what resources she used to do just that!
More About My Guest:
Hi, I am Angie Miller, owner of Stitch, mom to 10-year-old kiddo, and a 13 1/2-year-old black and tan mini doxie, Charlie. I spent over 13 years dedicated to hospice and home health nursing, and I don't want to let those skills get too rusty. I also still do some moonlighting as an RN in addition to my time at Stitch. Never know when I might need to call those nurse-y skills into action.
Sewing and crafting have been a love that dates back much longer than being a nurse. My mom taught me to cross Stitch in 1st grade (age 7ish). I was envious of my friend, Vicki, who had entered a project in the local fair and won a ribbon. (I later found out she was very envious of some sweet grey suede loafers I possessed.) I wanted to learn so I could win a ribbon too!
I continued to do local shows and sell on Etsy, but the dream of being able to do it full time was still just that...a dream. In 2014, amid a significant job change, I started working on an actual business plan and set a goal of making my dream a reality by turning 40 (which occurred in late 2018). On January 29th, 2018, Stitch Morgantown, LLC., officially opened its' doors for business!
